Honda Vezel part 17

So when is Volks Auto going to deliver their first Vezel? Very curious after reading through the thread.

Yeah, even after yesterday's COE increase they are still offering the same deal $108K for the X model in today's classifieds.

Anyone here who booked with Volks secured COE or viewed their car already?

I use tenso.com they have "buy for me" service. Once you submitted what you going to buy, they will email the price + service charge. You can pay them by paypal if the price is ok gor you. Otherwise no fee needed.

Although their price listed in SG carmart is very competitive, but if you take a closer look of their "so-call" 1 bid guaranteed COE, it is just meant that they are offer to bid once (at what price!!?)for you and doesn't mean thatthey willsecure the COE for you, LOL [smash]

I'm always wondering about the Auto Engine Stop function on non-hybrid car. As the engine stopped so the alternator is not running to charge the battery and all of the in car equipment are running (air-con, dvd, charging of phone, head light etc...) how long does the battery last??? It work well in hybrid car as they have a huge charged battery always ready.

It will strain the battery, that's why they came up with batteries for cars with this start stop feature. BMW, Audi, etc have this feature too.

So far still ok, not much of an issue for those continental makes that are non hybrid and are with this start stop feature. Still can last 2 years odd at least.

There are some big capacitors located in Vezel boot. You can find them in the spare tyre area. These capacitors help to store electric charge that can supply electricity to power electronic of the car. So it will relief the load of the car battery.

So Vezel can consider a very mild hybrid car [sunny]

I have been following this thread for a while and observed that every now and then a Vezel buyer will buy/order their carsfrom PI(s) that offers extremely low price. Deep inside my heart I wish that their orders will materialise and come truth. There again, I also wish that all other potential buyers give more thoughts to itbefore signing on the dotted line. No matter how, there will always be black sheepin every industry/sector of the society.

My apologies to all brothers if I have dampen the mood here.I know this is hard earned money that everyone, including me, would like to save as much as we could. Nothing wrong to buy from the cheapest but just be careful.

    Thanks.

I think minimum is around $121K now. Most important is to find a resposible PI. Hope that bro here who get their rides can share their experiences ..... privately if they not comfortable to post openly. Thanks !!

Just FYI. Some light reading for those who are waiting for your rides.

    From:

    http://www.singapore...-singapore.html

Howlong does it take to take delivery of the car?

The car has to go through several stages before it can be registered.

    I.Car Import

We work together to finalize the vehicle you want to import. We then share the current pricing and availability situation. If you are ready with the payment we then give you a schedule of vehicle shipment and payment schedule. If the vehicle is readily available then the vehicle can be shipped or airlifted very quickly. We can hand the BL to you and you can handle the rest of the process yourself or can choose for us to supervise the whole process for an additional cost.

II.Singapore Customs Clearance, Car Valuation and Import Permit

We then submit car documents to the Singapore Customs for customs valuation of the cars. Customer doesvaluation of the cars and assigns an open market value (OMV). This process generally takes about 5 working days. For example, if the documents are submitted to the Singapore Customs on Monday, the OMV will be assigned via fax on Friday or Monday.

Once we have car's OMV, we apply for an import permit to bring the car out of the port.

You may glean more information at Singapore Customs page at http://www.customs.gov.sg/

    III.VITAS Submission

Car documents of the various modelshave to be verified and approved in batchesby a system called VITAS (Vehicle Inspection and Type Approval System), under the Land Transport Authority.

This process takes about 3 working days to a week, depending on the volume of submission. That is, if there are a great number of car being imported and submitted to VITASat the period of time, the process will be slower.

For more information, you may visit https://vitas.lta.gov.sg/VtPublicLogin.jsp

    IV.Vehicle Inspection

After VITAS has verified the car documents, a Notice of Inspection will be sent to the importer via email. We are then able to bring the cars to the authorised LTA Inspection Centres (eg VICOM Ltd or STA Inspection Centre) for inspection.

    V.Notice of Approval

All cars in the batch submission have to be inspected and approved by the LTA Inspection centre beforea Notice of Approval will be sent to the importer via email. This could be delayed at times if the engine number or chassis number does not match with the documents. As such, the documents will have to be amended before we can send for the next inspection.

An approval code will be given together with the Notice of Approval. With this approval code, we are then able to proceed with the registration of the car.

    VI.Registration of the car

Now, we arecloser to thecar delivery- Registration.

We have to arrange for the car insurance and collectany outstandingpayment of the car before weproceed to register the car.

Once the car is registered, a copy of Acknowledgment Letter will be generated from the LTALink (replaces the previous LOGCARD system). The Road Tax will be sent directlyto the Registered Owner within 7 days of Registration.

    VII.Car Delivery

We want to make sure that the car is in a tip-top condition whencustomer takes delivery of the car. The car will be groomed and polished and its number plate affixed.

Number plate affixing may require a slightly longer processing time for Off Peak Car (OPC or Weekend car).OPC numberplate has to be 'seal' at the LTA Inspection Centre.

New link called VITAS3 . Unfortunatelythis is for motor traders.

but if you like to know the procedures here it is.

So, next time your SA tell you something, you can roughly figure out if he/she is not beating around the bush.

Judging by the position of the A-pillars, I think Vezel 's cabin is more spacious. Given a choice, I'll go for Vezel.

Yes, Vezel is based on Fit platform and the Honda design concept of Fit is "Machine Minimium ^_^, Human Maximum [drivingcar]". Of cos Vezel's interior will be more roomier than CX3 [thumbsup]

Looks like it goes under Mazda 3 chassis. Today Mazda 3 price tag is already $118000 so I don't think is going to be cheaper than Mazda 3. It is very similar that Vezel is under Fit chassis but it is more expensive than a Fit.

My bad. After reading somemore article the CX-3 is based on Mazda 2 platform. So it will be even smaller.

    Hi all,

I am interested in the honda vezel as well..i have a few questions which i hope the bros here can help

    1. Looking at the honda website, the S model has additional soundproofing right? Any major diff in terms of sound insulation between X and S?

    2. Anyway for the headunit, is it possible to have the original headunit? I sort of like the original headunit by honda.

Think the one in the current new jazz by Kah motor has it? Can buy from Kah motor and fix into the honda vezel? How much does it cost huh?

Sorry for asking the questions.. Have a nice day ahead..

    Cheers.

wah, really?! wow, i hope they were "stalking" the vezel, not me!

the trip was good, thanks. went to KL for the weekend.

the car performed better than expected, at least for me. passengers were very comfortable, the ride was very smooth. i went as fast as 140km speed and the car was stable and steering firm and did not shake. i had a full load of passengers so maybe that added to the stability, I guess; but then it also affected the fuel consumption; i could manage only 17km/l at best. i am a law-abiding driver so never push the car too hard or drive faster than speed limit. on the way back, it was raining super heavily so had to slow down much of the way. i forgot to monitor the range, sorry.

got quite a bit of 'stares' from M'sian cars (!!); at first, i wondered if something was wrong with the car but after a while realised they were admiring the car!

over-taking was smooth and pick-up when required was there. notice a little bit of 'lagging' when going uphill and the dial turned 'blue' straight away! went up with full tank and had roughly 1/4 (about 5 bars) left by the time i reached malacca on the way back (didn't drive much in KL itself).

to me - especially when i compare to my previous car -the driver's (height) position is commanding as the 'view' seems wider and there is more 'presence' on the road. ultimately, to me, i feel the vezel gives one the versatility of a family-passenger carrier and yet sporty-rugged mover. makes sense or not?!

at the causeway jam on the way back, i switched off the auto-stop function to avoid the start-stop feature, but otherwise,

i had it on all the time.

Thai built HR-V launched only as a 1.8L

    http://paultan.org/2...n=internallinks

The Honda HR-V has been launched in Thailand. The B-segment SUV is positioned as a premium sport crossover in the Land of Smiles and is only available in 1.8 litre form, paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. In keeping with the premium positioning, theres no 1.5L or manual version in Thailand.

The 1.8 litre engine is question makes 141 PS at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, similar to the one in the Civic 1.8. The SOHC i-VTEC unit is paired to Hondas G Design Shift CVT automatic gearbox. The engine is E85 biofuel compatible for the Thai market.

The HR-V sits on the platform that underpins the B-segment City and Jazz duo, but its wheelbase is the longest in the family at 2,610 mm, 10 mm longer than the sedan and 80 mm longer than the hatch. Being an SUV, its the tallest too all versions ride on 17-inch alloys with 215/55 tyres.

Also available is an optional Modulo pack, which includes visual add-ons such as an all-round bodykit, a different grille treatment and larger 18-inch, dual-tone wheels. Also thrown in are stylised wing mirror caps, grab handle covers, front fender garnish, boot sill protector and window visors.

The HR-V starts from 890,000 baht (RM90,922) for the S, rising to 975,000 baht (RM99,609) for the E. The range topping EL goes for 1.045 million baht (RM106,761). Colour options include Alabaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl, White Orchid Pearl, Ruse Black Metallic and Morpho Blue Pearl.

Now that the HR-V has been launched in Indonesia and Thailand, Malaysia should be next in the list. This will be a hot one when it lands, for sure.

Initially I have the same thinking as you to install original Honda HU. I purposely go to Kah Motors showroom to take a look of Jazz HU, however it is seems that all Honda HU are custom-made to suit per model as the dimension of the panel seems cannot fit into Vezel's HU opening hole. [:/]

I took this photo ofa X model and there is no sound proofing material on the door at all. Others can confirm or correct me if I'm wrong. :)
