They can still build the MRT across the nature reserve on the surface.

Like the undersea world, see-through glass cover the MRT track and passengers at times can catch a view of some animals. Not so boring inside the train.

The noise from the moving trains will scare those animals away. Every min, a train will go pass their habitat. Even humans also will move house cause of train noise, not to mention animals. Also during the process of building, they will have to cut down few hundreds of years old primary forest.

Even underground, also need to build ventilation shaft and escape tunnels to the surface.

No matter which option they take, the animals there will suffer.

Heroic man helps to nab alleged attacker in stabbing incident at VivoCity food court

A Stomper was eating with his family at VivoCity's food court when he witnessed a stabbing incident today (Feb 26).

According to him, it was quite the scene as a woman was allegedly stabbed quite a few times, but no one dared to help -- except one hero.

The Stomper commended the heroic man in red and grey shirt for stopping the alleged assailant from further attacking her. The man also helped to nab him and stop him from running away.

While waiting for the paramedics to arrive, the man attended to the stab victim by trying to stop her bleeding and keeping her conscious.

In the photos, the paramedics have arrived and can be seen attending to the woman, who is blocked from view.

There were security guards around the area who proceeded to shoo diners away from the scene.

"Must commend this guy who attended to the victim and even handled the attacker!" the Stomper said.

37-year-old man allegedly stabbed to death in Hougang after argument at coffee shop

A 37-year-old man, who was reportedly stabbed in the neck, died in hospital of his wounds on Thursday (Feb 25).

The man, identified by Lianhe Wanbao as Mr Ang, was found at Block 23, Hougang Avenue 3, on Thursday morning. Spots of blood were seen near the block, the paper reported.

Police said it received a call for help at about 2.14am, and found an injured man at the scene. There were no details on where exactly the man was found.

Shin Min Daily News, however, said the incident happened outside a coffee shop at Block 23.

The deceased apparently got into an argument with another man at the coffee shop over a staring incident before the alleged stabbing, according to the report.

An assistant at the coffee shop told Shin Min that Mr Ang came to order a drink late on Wednesday night. He was unhappy that the drinks stall had a self-service policy, and shouted at the assistant: "There's business, you don't want it?"

Just before he left, he caught the eye of an off-duty coffee shop employee, known to his colleagues by the nickname "Ah Beng".

Mr Ang asked Ah Beng "What are you staring at?" and left.

The coffee shop assistant said Ah Beng then went to the zi char stall to pick up something before following Mr Ang out of the coffee shop.

Only when the police arrived did Ah Beng's colleague realise that a man had died.

Mr Ang was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and was pronounced dead at 3.28am.

It is understood that he had a wound in his neck, Wanbao said.

On Thursday morning, police arrested Ah Beng. According to Ah Beng's girlfriend, police officers turned up at their home at around 4am.

Police officers conducted a massive search in the area, and a knife was found, Shin Min said.

    Police investigations are ongoing.

I;m kinda lazy and always lose my bottles so I've been bringing those .35 cents bottled water out.

Between my wife and I, we drink 2-3 bottles each time we go out so it cost about a dollar but you can imagine how much we'd have to pay if we bought drinks outside!

In my opinion, we are too engrossed in material gain thus struggle to meet expectations. In this process, we loss the meaning of life. That struggle leads to stress and constant competitions.

While some will benefit from this as productivity go up. Those work horses will suffer including their next generations.

It is about time we refocus before the system crumpled.

Man buys 30 packets of beehoon to throw on the floor after his queue got cut
    beehoon.jpg
According toLianhe Wanbao, a tattooed man went on a fried mee/ beehoon rampage at the Block 17 Boon Keng Road Hawker Centre today (March 11).

Apparently, this occurred because the tattooed mans queue was cut and the economical beehoon stalls assistant handeda packet of beehoon to someone who joined the queue later than him.

A witness said the tattooed man asked the female stall assistant why she served someone else first and was it because he (the tattoeed man) looked like he had no money.

He was alleged to have bought 30 packets of economical beehoon/ noodles subsequently, and threw the packetson the floor in anger at the stall.

Lianhe Wanbaohas a photograph of the aftermath with multiple packets of beehoon strewn on the floor:wb11-1.jpg

Victim, 63, found lying in a pool of blood in Compassvale flat; case classified as murder
An elderly man was arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife last night after police found her lying in a pool of blood in the living room of their sixth-floor Compassvale Crescent flat.
The 68-year-old was led away in handcuffs at around 7.20pm, almost three hours after police received a call for assistance.
The 63-year-old victim is believed to have suffered injuries to her body, though no murder weapon was identified. Paramedics pronounced her dead at 5pm.
Police have classified the case as murder.
Neither the man nor woman - described as being "very loving" by one neighbour - has been named.
It is understood that one of the woman's daughters had called the police after receiving a call from her father. As he was about to be led to a police car, his two daughters who were with about seven other family members at the first-floor lift landing cried: "Ah Pa, Ah Pa!"
The family declined to speak to the media.
A neighbour who wanted to be known only as Mrs Koh said the couple were friendly and would often wave and greet neighbours.
"The couple were very loving, we always saw them going for breakfast together," said Mrs Koh, 60, who also lives on the sixth floor.
"I woke up in the afternoon and saw a lot of police outside... I didn't expect something like this to happen," she said.
Engineer Ramesh Somu, 46, who lives on the fifth floor, was at home watching movies with his wife and son yesterday afternoon but did not hear any commotion.
"The police came just now and asked us if we heard any screaming or noise," he said. "I'm shocked. This is a very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, people normally keep to themselves."
A police cordon was in place outside the sixth-floor unit at Block 296C last night, while around 20 officers could be seen at times outside the five-room flat.
Neighbours say a couple in their 60s, who have two daughters, lived in the unit. One neighbour on the fourth floor, a bank officer who wanted to be known only as Ms Bao, said she heard a woman crying after police arrived. "The police came and she was talking to them," said the 36-year-old.
    Police investigations are ongoing.

Whether the instructor is right or not is opened for discussion. If Sec 4 at 16 years old, my opinion is it doesn't really matter. But if sec 1 or 2 at 12/13/14 years old, I think that may be a bit overboard, especially in the rain.

Jail for police NSF who took photos of women officers in shower
    Elena Chong
    Friday, Mar 18, 2016
    Qayyum1.jpg?itok=zoT7tAh7&timestamp=1458
Qayyum, who had eight other charges taken into consideration, pleaded for leniency. He said he regretted committing the offences and asked for a chance to change.
A full-time police national serviceman was jailed for nine months yesterday for taking photos of the bare body of a woman police officer in the shower and deleting six photos of females in the shower in a bid to hide his wrongdoing.
Abdul Qayyum Mohd Hashim, 20, who faced 11 charges, including criminal trespass and theft of a brassiere, admitted to three charges.
While on night duty on Jan 26 last year at Tanglin police divisional headquarters as a station security officer, he asked a colleague to cover his duties as he wanted to relieve himself. He had seen the woman entering the female locker room near the toilet from the closed-circuit television footage.
He wanted to get a chance to speak to the victim, as he was interested in her.
He saw the 21-year-old walking out of the locker room with a towel, soap and some clothing and decided to take photographs of her showering.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Kelly Ho said Qayyum entered the toilet and held his Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone in his hand to take photographs of the victim showering.
When he heard some sounds which indicated that she was about to finish showering, he put away his phone, grabbed her bra and put it into his pocket. He then walked out of the toilet and put the bra in his bag in the male locker room.
The woman made a police report when she found her bra missing.
Three days later, his superior told him to stay back in the room after a briefing.
Qayyum found it suspicious and deleted six photos he had taken of three female police officers who were showering.
He did this in a bid to conceal the evidence of his wrongdoing.
Earlier, on Jan 22 last year, Qayyum happened to be in the station toilet when he heard sounds of someone showering. He decided to enter the female toilet to take photos of a female officer showering.
Raising his phone above the top of the cubicle, he could see the 21-year-old's bare body and took three pictures of her back.
The court heard that he viewed them at least twice that week and performed an obscene act once when viewing the photographs.
Qayyum, who had eight other charges taken into consideration, pleaded for leniency. He said he regretted committing the offences and asked for a chance to change.
District Judge Lim Keng Yeow said there were numerous aggravating factors and a jail term was necessary.
Qayyum could have been jailed for up to one year and fined for insulting the modesty of a woman. For perverting the course of justice, he could have been jailed for up to seven years and fined.
