    Mivec9

haha but i scare leh...later i pump liaoz something happened to the engine den i die...

the difference of the two is actually the latter has more addictives in it.
  • 14 November 2005 - 10:48 PM
    Mazda323
    huh meaning?? hur.gif
  • 14 November 2005 - 10:51 PM
    Mivec9
meaning from my knowledge...98 contains more addictives than the lower grade...hence it shdnt cause ur engine to die juz cos u r using the "better" grade petrol.
  • 14 November 2005 - 10:52 PM
    Yc86
98 has a higher ocatane number aka antiknock value

this number can be changed by adding lead, in the form of TEL (tetra-ethyl-lead) to raise the 'burning point' of the fuel so that it can be used in a higher compression ratio engine.

using a higher than recommended is okay, but a lower than recommended will lead to pre-ignition and 'knocking' of the engine where the mixture ignities b4 TDC top dead center is reached

UNLEADED FUEL - Can my older model Mazda take unleaded fuel?
    • R100, RX2, RX3, RX4, RX5, RX-7 (all vehicles with Rotary Engines)
    • 929 - 1983 on
    • 626 - 1983 on
    • 323 wagon - 1983 on
    • 323 except ss model - 1983 on
    • RX7 - 1979 on
    • 929 wagon - 1982 on
    • B2000 - 1982 on
    • E1800/E2000 - 1984 on

What type of fuel does Mazda recommend for it's vehicles?
    • Early model vehicles designed for Leaded fuel can use Regular Unleaded or Premium Unleaded fuel, but must also use a lead replacement additive to prevent valve seat wear. These additives are usually available from your fuel supplier.

Standard unleaded petrol has a lower octane number of around 91, whereas leaded petrol has an octane number of 96 or higher. The lead compound added is just enough to increase the octane number from around 91 to over 96. Premium unleaded has an octane number of 96, so it has much higher levels of aromatics-as well as benzene-than other fuels. For premium unleaded petrol in Australia, the total aromatic content was 36.4%, with benzene level of 3.3%
  • 14 November 2005 - 11:30 PM
    Mivec9
hence bro, u can use ron 92 and then the leaded addictive can "upgraded" it to ron 96 which is the grade for ur leaded petrol
  • 14 November 2005 - 11:32 PM
    Mazda323
den lets say if i use 95 and add the leaded addictive will it upgrade?
  • 14 November 2005 - 11:46 PM
    Mivec9
from the article, my guess is yes...wahz..lagi better for ur car
  • 14 November 2005 - 11:47 PM
    Mazda323
haha but use 95 with tat leaded addictive already feeling underpower if use 92 i tink my car die liaoz sweatdrop.gif
  • 14 November 2005 - 11:49 PM
    Mivec9
wont die..but is equivalent to the leaded u have used donkey yrs ago...juz nice to meet the minimum requirement.

wah u all reply so fast... lost track of the topic laugh.gif

not bad u can chiong with other cars... i always feel that all cars are overtaking me unless i go above 3k then have alittle more power

but after installing the vac gauge dun dare to step so much... see the needle go towards 0 heart pain... wallet also pain shakehead.gif

i think this is the best fuel saving device~... forget what vauum tank.. superione.. fuel catlyst.. magnet.. E68.. etc lipsrsealed.gif
  • 15 November 2005 - 02:49 AM
    Mivec9
    btw...wat's usage of vacuum??
  • 15 November 2005 - 10:48 AM
    Yc86
er... vacuum gauges measure the amount of air getting into the engine, which is proportional to the amount of fuel going in.. as the ratio is set by the ecu, or for carb.. the needle setting.. most 'FC' meters are actually vacuum gauges calibrated to read in km/l.

As u step more throttle the meter will move towards 0, and when u release it'll read closer to about -20
the idea is just to keep the reading as high as possible for a given speed.. n u'll Be saving the most fuel..
    nod.gif

actually vac gauge same as boost gauge only that Boost can read positive pressure.. so can connect one to ur car... but it won't go above 0 laugh.gif
