i am looking at purchasing a vezel x model. Just some questions to make up my mind..

As I frequently drive up malaysia (once a month), I need to find out the stability of the car. For example, my current ride feels very shaky and 'floating' when I drive at around 130km per hour. Therefore, I need to know if vezel is stable when driving at that speed or even slightly higher. Next question is roughly what is the top speed for vezel (as I saw the speedometer is until 180 only).

Please advise.

I drove way higher than 130 while in NSHW.�Ride is stable,�just that cabin�was kinda noisy�but that's before I did car sp. Don't expect a quiet drive.

If driving a vios is an upgrade , I would easily say everything also better ( cause I am having a Vios previously)

Insulation very subjective you may spend 200 or 1k , but I didn't do any as it's acceptable for me.�

I'm glad to hear from 2 or 3 vezel owners who were previously on airwave, to say that the noise is better.

Coz i'm not intending to spend on sound insulation. Anything better than my current ride is considered as upgrade. Furthermore, i don't expect driving crossover/suv to be a as quiet as a sedan. lol

Not acceptable to me...spent a total of about 1k doing floor, all doors, front wheel arcs. Left only rear untouched.

The Honda Vezel remains the most bang for buck B&B car in the market.

But the main selling points to me are:

Great styling inside out
Decent power to capacity ratio
Spacious cabin and boot
Made in Japan

My wife didnt want to spend money so she said to buy her the cheapest.

My preference is actually, the new Tucson or Sante Fe which are really solid and beyond many Japs.

Honda engines are reliable...used to drive a 05 civic...but its other parts that disappoint usually... and not sure if the idling vibration issue is solved...last heard the civics still have that issue...but generally honda engine is the best among the jap makers...personally I prefer boxer subaru for engine....

Yup, based on my experience, new engines work best with w30 although w40 won't spoil your engine too. But also based on experience, w30 makes the engine rougher and louder, but power delivery is good. If engine is older than 100k mileage, better stick to w40.

For Turbo engines, w40 is the only way to go for local tropics.

Quite a lot of info on this thread and thanks for the contributors. Recently been looking around for a Vetzel and realized that the Parf value is 4k upon scrapped because of CEVS while HRV is around 10k. Is that the norm?

BTW, was quoted 111k for a Vetzel X model with standard freebies. Is that reasonable? Hope to hear from fellow contributors.

Cos all this is due to experience from car ownership. Truth be known I don't know the technical specifics but I do notice thinner oil tends to boil off fast than thicker oils. I quote you an example:

Half leather means probably half of the leather parts will be using synthetic leathers instead of real leather.

For myself, i experienced (from my past cars as well as parent's, relatives'. Synthetic leathers tends to last longer than real leather, and it breathes better than real one. Therefore, I'm good with half leather & would rather save the topup( if required by PI) for other purposes.

But that's just me, some people just prefer it to be in Full genuine leather, and probably it's smell, lol.

Boxer engine is good unless it is turbo. NA is confirm underpower and Boxer engine sibei jiak you. Not really suitable in Singapore daily usage. And boxer engine change timing belt is consider quite major change, the labour super expensive.

My understanding is we can forget about the no after W cos that denotes winter. which we dont have here. 20 is thinner can better for new engine due to tightness between piston and cyclinder. As engine age then need thicker oil to fill the gap. due to wear and tear.

Real leather smells better and feels better and in my opinion lasts longer.
Synthetics are plasticky and stretch too easily. They dont give as good a support as full leather seats.

Since the price difference is not great ($500) and i was very shuang kwai, dealer covered for me.

My last car was a subaru Wrx 2.0. It sure is a great engine and stood to my abuse for 4 years. The 2.5 variant maybe problematic though.

Timing belt small issue to me... 1k cost including water pump etc but that last u for 100k mileage.

I am based on my previous WRX EJ20 engine experience. It is a very good ride, stable (4WD).

But 4WD is overkill in Singapore road. Lesser vibration compare to other japanese ride.

Just cannot tahan the FC lolz. By the way, i never drive a TS 1.6L before.�

So i insist on full leather not just half.

The most kiasu of users (nothing wrong at all btw), follow this regime to run in the engine.

�

1st 1000km - Rev no more than 2500rpm

change oil at 1000km, use mineral oil

�

next 5000km - Rev no more than 3000rpm

change oil at 6000km, use synthetic oil

�

After 6000km, rev whatever you want.

�

For Vezel, i highly suggest using Grade 4 or 5 Synthtic API SN oil 0w20 or 5w20. The highest one should go is 5w30 for start stop engine. Not all same viscosity but diff brand oil performs the same, it really depends on the concoction of added polymers, detergents etc.

5w30 Liquimoly is way rougher than 5w30 Amsoil Signature. The former caused my engine to vibrate at idle.

now using 0w20 Amoil Signature Series. The best oil so far for my ride.

Yup. Hrv had higher omv and parf since no cevs rebate. But effectively you are paying like 15k more to begin with for a lower spec model somemore, and that negates the 6k gain in parf.

Some will tell u 111k for X is exp.

Thks for the info bro. The debate i see going around is to use mineral or synthetic after 1k. In the past, i always stick to mineral for first 10k but recently gurus commented that newer eng no longer requires so...

Recived news, Japan is holding back to sell Vezel X, S & G model...as this cars is actually meant for Japan local market. somehow, this cars became a high demand in South East Asia, & new Zealand & Australia for best petrol efficency n safety features, to what I understand, Japan local dealer have been exporting these cars more than selling in their own local market.... now the ratio for export vezel to overseas, eg : A dealers from Singaporean will have to buy any 3 other make japanese cars & allowed to buy 1 vezel. do expect, influx in price when the supply for vezel is low in coming month.. as it it some company have already increase their car selling price by 30%... my advise for those whom still considering n hoping for Coe to crash before making decision... can forget it, vezel price will soon join the price of HRV going around $125800....decide now before price shoot up. cheers n have a great week.

I had a friend who did this & end up selling his COE to a dealer at a loss because nobody wanted to sell him the car alone without COE. Dealers explained to him that there is no ex stock had to wait 3 mths, which defeat the purpose as the COE is only valid for 3 mths.

From my opinion, it is not a case where there is no ex stock. I suspect dealer wants to earn from every component apart from the car itself like COE, loan, insurance. So they not bothered to sell the car only. This is just my assumption
