What is the expected rebate of the Vezel after 10 years? Does the new CEVS thing affect the rebate value?
  • 06 July 2015 - 10:42 AM
    Honker

was quoted by a pi 113,800, no coe rebate option...umm...is this a common practice? Any pi has ready stock?

I bought at $112,xxx no rebate also but he said no need top up if coe goes up. but need to wait 2-3months as there is no immediate stocks liao. I asked around before settled with this PI cuz all also no immediate stock so bought from this PI lor since my fren also bought from them and my fren got his car liao.

Sorry i really dont understand what you mean?

COE from last year? ..... lost 6 months of usage...? Please do not make incorrect statement to confuse new buyers.

COE for Cat A / B is not transferable and valid for 6 months.

COE for Cat E is transferable but valid for 3 months.

Even if you secured your COE 5 months ago (cat a/b) when you register your car now, the coe will start from the registration date not when you get the coe.

Don't mean to make incorrect statement and confuse buyers, Appreciate if you read my post again. I mentioned "Some cars were registered with COEs from, last year." Meaning the new car had already been registered with 1st owner even though the mileage can show less than 50km. So technically you are losing the said number of months from the date of registration. Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

huh. you mean got such thing meh?

when a new car got registered under your name, lta will send you notification by snail mail all the details pertaining to your tcoe and car registration dates.

If it has been registered earlier (meaning XXXX number plate) , then what? change number? Your lta asset log will still show old details.

from one motoring you can check your asset easily.

dont get me wrong (or angry with me). i just cant comprehend the register earlier bit. its just dont make any sense to me at all.

Just explaining my point. Ask the PI dealer first before signing on the dotted line.

As to whether I am angry, you can rest assured I am not. But I guess you are upset when you made the statement "Please do not make incorrect statement to confuse new buyers." I am not confused either. I just want to share what I know here and hope it benefits buyers who are unaware..

I assume you are implying is that some PI have pre-registered car, that maybe has been sitting in their showroom, their display car even. Or that their "ready COE" car have been registered under the PI's name first, then can be sold to buyer later who want their car immediately.

But since the car has already been registered, the COE is already used and has had some of its time eaten.

...Yes, must be careful when you ask for immediate delivery car...

It seems my good intention to sound out to potential buyers is being ridiculed by some people. But it's ok if people want to be negative. I am not the unhappy one. Whatever the marketing strategy by some PIs, it is best to exercise some caution before putting ink to paper because on paper the buyer will be the 2nd owner instead of 1st.

I won't be asking the PIs since I am not interested in buying. Potential buyers should be the one asking before buying. [:)]

you still do not get it. There are NO such thing as pre registration!!! either its registered or not. So all these are fake ads.

all PI cars are NOT registered at all, unless they have an actual buyer. to register a car they need to pay the ARF and COE. there is no way they have the cash to do so. and the owner count will be 1. so who in the right mind will pay the government both the COE and ARF and let the car sit there and sell as a brand new. only ADs do this for test drive and management cars which they also use to meet their quotas.

I think we are on wrong frequency. My first post to this topic is below.

"Bros please take note when buying those with ready COE. Some cars were registered with COEs from last year. So technically you would have already lost more than 6 months of useage or depreciation due to the early COE registratio by the PIs."

Oh well! Never mind. Pardon my poor command and understanding of English. Case close for me.

Cant said that there no register Vezel in the market, if there is a register plate, meaning is already register with LTA. if you look carefully instead of jumping to conclusion, the COE at all Cat E COE. which dealer and owner can hold for 3 months max, before they need to use it or LTA forfeit the 10K.

    Hi guys,
I need some advice. I am getting my Vezel soon but I want to upgrade my HU to have the mirroring function but don't require GPS. Currently my PI is giving me pioneer 275BT. Now the PI is offering me 8750Bt , kenwood 9150bt and 5350bt for the upgrade. All these model come with gps which the top up is out of my budget (budget around $400). My initial plan is kenwood 515bt but they told me can't fit into Vezel. Is that true? Any bros here have done any HU upgrade. If yes which model. Pls advice.
    Thanks

My friend's PI provides Kenwood DNX4150BT for his ride.

Both have the same dimension as shown below:

    Picture size 6.2inches(diagonal) wide
    W x H 137.5mm x 77.2 mm
Fitting into the 2 DIN slot should not be a problem.
Can also use the steering audio remote control too.

4150bt also come with GPS but maybe the top up is lesser than 5350bt. I will call to ask them.
How much does your friend top up? Or the ride come with 4150bt?y

yes 4150 came with garmin nav. no need to top up for him as it is the PI standard issue.

maybe you should check with audio installer. It seems most PI go to the same installer.

    Hi,

I booked a Vezel in mid March through a PI. Was told that I would be able to collect my car in June. In June, the agent called to inform that there was some delay in the paper work and I will only get my car by end of June. Then I received another message from the agent again in end June to inform that there's further delay and I will only get my car in another few weeks'time. When asked roughly when I can get my car, the agent was unwilling to commit. Anyone experiencing the same situation? Any advise? Thanks!

    From the above link.

Engine and Mileage of 2016 Honda Vezel
"The Vezel compact crossover is equipped with a 1.5 liter turbo charged engine. The engine will be mated with 7 speed dual clutch transmission and 22 kilowatt electric motor. The hybrid version of Vezel will have a one motor and dual clutch lithium ion battery system. The gasoline version of Vezel will come with 1.5 liter engine and continuously variable transmission. The turbocharged version of compact crossover will generate improved fuel economy and boosted power. The engine will provide 15 per cent great fuel economy and 45 percent of better torque."
I guess the turbo version is to compete with other makes in the same category.
Not sure if there is a non turbo version though. If there is probably we will get them. but i am just speculating.
You can try talk to PI to indent this, if you really want it.
Till then have to wait till 2016.

Took me two weeks to finish 172 pages here and its amazing to see consistent praises for Vezel. So, I'm thinking of Vezel (S Improved) to replace my Latio Sports with 12 month of life left. OK to trade-in my current ride or sell it via other means (whichever fetches the best price).

A gentle reminder to all would be buyers of Vezels from PI, please seriously note that having cars already in the showroom does NOT mean anything, and it should not be a push factor to choose that dealer. Please focus on your actual deal's Terms & Conditions & Fine Print.
If you don't already know, a few fellow Vezelians have lost in excess of 8k or more in paper value of their cars upfront, which entered the PI's cash register ka-ching ka-ching as full profit. i.e you could have paid 8k less because they were not familiar with negotiating on COE rebate levels. As such, if you lose 8k or more in paper value, it makes no difference in buying from Kah Motors even though KM brings HRV with inferior built and an older engine. That is from a financial standpoint.

Remember! Go For High COE rebate Deals!
    Cat A last close 58.7k
    Cat B last close 65.5k

3k COE rebate deals below the above COE listings IMO is fair.
I don't want to promote AD but fyi, KM is offering 56k rebate and negotiable.
Remember don't fall for gimmicks! Tonnes of dealers out there to choose from, they're improved versions are all on the way, find a great deal COE now on its way down anyway, all the best!

    Happy Sunday everybody!!

Hahaha. no la. Using 5w-40 viscosity of engine oil will not spoil the engine so easily.

Vezel runs best with 0w-20 or 5w-20.

given that it's a 2nd car and your wife doesnt drive much & 3-5k is nothing significant...

you should get Vezel S model (highest options & non-hybrid).

PI, erm....can try the bigger ones....best if they have ready stock since a few grand is nothing much to you..

Just because he is rather comfortable monetary wise, doesn't mean he doesn't want a good deal. I would suggest a vezel X. As this is the most commonly stocked model. An S model might probably need to indent and this can cause agonizingly long wait times.

    for 3k more,

you get better sound proofing, roof rack, 17 inch enkei rims, pedal shift....how is that not a good deal compared to X, given that 3k is probably less than a quarter of his rental income? :D

Its only 129bhp, everything "sporty" is bulls**t to be honest.
Anyway......my wife only drives 5,000 to 6,000km per year .

What is important to me is - full genuine leather seats , sunroof and legal V-cool and 5yrs warranty?

Yes, i only want options that make sense and practicality for me.
Not those silly options for shiok but does nothing really.
Also wife says she wants a titanium grey color.

Is 129bhp really enoigh for this car? I am also worried, i pedal to the metal, and the car can hardly move due to power to weight. Any comments there?

Cash deal is approx 3-4k more. Some PIs can negotiate. Else it's the max loan 50%, where they can earn the max commissions. Not much point in going half way as in 20-30% loan.

If you want full leather then you need to do it yourself or top up on the package. The leather PI gives is not full. Only the portion that touches your body where you sit is leather and it quality is not that great. The rest of the material is pvc, a lousier version of the superb MBtex

129hp is enough. The chassis is based on a stretched jazz platform so the weight increase isn't too drastic. Should be about the same as your current mazda2 or a bit better. I tried the hrv and found it decent.
The trick is to find the right PI with the right workshop support,

    1) full cash option possible but they charge 2-3k on top of the purchased price.

you can run the numbers to see if its worth. effective rate about 4.3% pa. for 2.28% flat, vis a vis putting into cimb saving account of 0.80% pa.

    2) no titanium grey for Vezel. only HR-V from Kah Motor has it.

    3) the car is light although it looks big. Kerb Weight 1190kg.

Nah. i dont follow you. that was a random remark. haha.

imo I think Vezel S is the one I would go for due to better finishing, undercarriage insulation and paddle shifters, for extra $3k, but the X is the most popular model.

Though really if I were buying Vezel I would most likely choose the Hybrid Z, the "king" of all Vezels.

The 129bhp for Vezel gets it to 100km/h in about 11.4s according to the performance review graph posted earlier. To me that sounds quite slow. Even 60km/h takes 5.7s.

If these are the raw numbers, the Vezel 1.5L I would consider to be underpowered.

But Honda VTEC engines are typically considered very smooth, so I expect it will at least be such even if it doesn't actually go fast [smash]

Yes, PI will usually charge $2-3k extra for full cash purchase as they need that amount to cover the loss of loan rebate margin. Currently for non hybrid model, you are basically looking at 5 main colours, Maroon, Blue, White, Black and Silver (Lighter tone)

From what I heard is Hybrid Vezel is based on per order indent and yet Honda Japan is having problem catching up with the surging order due to the popularity of this car. Hence can check around but really need the PI to commit in delivering the car as promised.

I guess if full leather is what you need, you will have to just let your PI know and get the quote of top up, otherwise if you do not mind the trouble, can drive to your preferred leather wrapping company and do it yourself.

Basically from my personal perspective, this is a really a no frill car which gives good mileage to a tank. If you are looking for good performance, you might have to look at other make and model as the car was manufactured and priced to be a day to day bread and butter car (plus handsome look)

    Just my humble opinioin

    Drop Drop Drop drop ~!~!!!

COE is getting unpredictable at times, many of us expected the drop to cease for last bidding but yet it continuously dropping. With the news of more quotas are made available across the board. We are expecting the drop to continue, but for how long. Hence it might be good to buy new cars with non guaranteed COEs based on your ideal pricing.

Bottomline is, buying car is a sure lose purchase, only buy when you are really comfortable and not been pressured into a purchase.

Given your past ownership of the cars, this is really a basic car which your wife can happily drive around without worrying much.

respray to whatever colour you like is the best:)

No lah, who would buy a new car to respray especially when it is for bumping around.
Either she make do with next best color or i buy another car with the color she prefers.

One thing is that i hate anything thats leychey.
If no genuine full leathers , and i still have to go get it done, i will reconsider.

But best is to go view the real thing this weekend.
No rush, at worse she just drive the mazda2 until COE expires.....
    Wahaha.

    Maybe Cx5?
    Mitsubitshi ASX?

    Thanks for the inputs.

PI car. usually no test drive bro.

some dun even let you sit inside.

and to be honest. most of the PI quite slimy.

if minor price difference ( relatively speaking), might as well go for AD.

    Some review here:
I just changed my engine oil from 0w-40 to 5w-30 and here are the instant improvements that you can feel.
    1. Better FC (about 15% better)
    2. Reduced Engine Noise
    3. Better throttle response
    4. Better pickup (from 0-60km/h)

Yes, i only want options that make sense and practicality for me.
Not those silly options for shiok but does nothing really.
Also wife says she wants a titanium grey color.

My car trade ah beng friend says that all the PI dont want to take full cash??
Is that true? Nevermind i can take minimum loan for minimum period if truly the case.
    Its just bloody leychey.

Is 129bhp really enoigh for this car? I am also worried, i pedal to the metal, and the car can hardly move due to power to weight. Any comments there?

For the record, friend, i got NO rental income.
You should know better since you follow me, i have liquidated all investment property in 3rd qtr 2013
    Heh heh

Bro..get the hrv then..since your wife does not really care if dohc or sohc. At least you do not need to worry about PI.

Bro, think they are referring to auto fold mirrors when you lock your car. As for steering audio control, not all 1.5l cars have it. Vezel is not a premium ride. At 1.5l and with the current price, the things that vezel has already beat many others of the same category, no doubt insulation could be improved. Anyway the latter costs only about $80 - $150.

    I care... Heh he

Lol. Then bobian bro. Or wait for the turbo version.

Do wrapping. Lol. Yup...vezel is a no frill car but quite a lot of aftermarket aesthetic add ons. My dissatisfaction though is the insulation
, but again this can do aftermarket.
