Hi all, I am looking to get a Honda Vezel. Current ride expiring in 1 month's time. Hope to get the car by year end, perhaps wait a bit and hope COE drops a bit more. Anyone have PI to recommend? So far i see a few popular ones. Thanks.

Just went to Turf City today to check out the Vezel. Lowest I got was $109888 for the X model from JDM. Autolink quoted me $139888 for the hybrid. The rest of the prices quoted are abt 113888 to 115888.

Like Bro Vlanze, I am driving a FD2A and guess I will just stick to auto for the rest of my driving years. Young sales guy at Autolink firmly assured both my friend and I that the new batch of hybrid will be gearbox problem free. 5 years warranty on gearbox and battery will be honoured by the appointed workshop (which I forgotten the name). This point seriously makes me worry...A lot! So I guess I will just be sticking to the X model for now.
How would a young sales know the new batch hybrid's gearbox will be problem free? Did he design the new gearbox?

I will be choosing a Vezel over an Altis. 6 airbags, Japan made vs made in Thailand, sporty look. I will go for Vezel anytime.

I would consider the Vezel a superior car in every metric versus a Corolla Altis. Legroom might be similar but the Vezel will definitely have an edge in headroom and practicality with its hatchback boot. Its raised height probably will also make fitting a child-seat easier.
Any chance that vezel can fit 2 baby seats + an adult in the back row? Currently my Altis only allow 2,baby seats and after that, just a half buttock space left, making it impossible to have an adult sitting in between.

The Vezel isn't particularly wide so it may not be suitable in that regard. But it has a flat-ish floor and flexible rear folding seats. For your situation you probably want a wider car like a Passat or Hyundai i40 estate imo

I think generally S has body-colored lower skirt/trims, some may have dual-zone aircon, thicker underbody NVH insulation and paddle shifters (which are of importance if you like manual control), which X don't have.
Most popular spec is X. For me if I buy Vezel I will most likely choose the Hybrid Z-spec (top level model).

also they call it "smart touch aircon"? Ugh, I hate touch-sensitive crap for primary controls... one ad even call it the "new age digital aircon"....... touch sensitive buttons just build fingerprints and need you to take your eyes away...

1. in idle start/stop system..

(thinking that AC is at 20 and everything else is good for idle stop to work)

-does it work when the gear is in D mode and the auto brake is working (since auto brake is at work, no need to keep depressing the brake), or it won't work if the auto brake kicks in

or do i still have to keep the foot on the brake even if the auto brake kicks in for the idle stop??

-does it work if the gear is in N mode (if it works in N mode do I have to keep depressing the brake for the idle stop system to start
or if the electric parking brake is being used instead of depressing the brake, will the system will kick in)??

Guys, Honda states W20 oil for the hybrids. They sell the cars locally, and locally means Japan territory, even Sunny Okinawa and southern Japan, which is generally warmer than the north.
If we bother to do some research, we will understand that hybrid engines always start and stop while coming to a halt or moving off. As such, the frequency of starting the engine is high. Non-hybrid users who use the engine start-stop feature also see a much greater frequency of this event. Now we all know that the greatest wear is during engine start up and thus Honda already knew this, and specifies W20 oil to reduce engine wear. There is no reason the manufacturer wishes to screw up its reputation by not putting the RIGHT oil in the manual.
I really wish these authorized workshops do proper research before dumping improper oils into our new engines, and coming out with half-baked excuses on our "tropical weather".

Maintenance wise, I would not fear for the Vezel as it is the hot selling JDM model of now. I would expect that every major and even minor workshop that handles JDM and international Japanese marque cars is stocking up to the top shelf with Vezel parts and knowledge.

Yes, Vezel is a very pretty car. I only knew about this car after I joined the MCF. By then I already bought my Nissan or Tan Chong too hurry to give me the car. But you need to book early as I heard stocks coming in late as too popular. So far my house car park I saw one. But I think coming months will see more and more.
Haven't checked in this page for a while... but that's because I'm really enjoying this drive! After driving this superb car for slightly more than 2 months, it really ticks all the boxes for me:

1) Comfortable 5 seater with ample boot space .... Check (Bonus of folding back seats to double cargo space)
2) New technology such as brake hold, brake assist, cruise control .... Check
3) Fuel efficient ... CHECK! This aspect for me was a real winner, a mini-SUV clocking 15-16km/l mileage with about 60/40 City/Highway driving
4) Value-for-money .... In today's age of COE > Car body price, Vezel at about 108-115k price range is considered a steal. Honda has historically priced itself higher than rivals in the same category, but I found Vezel to be very competitively priced, it comes considerably cheaper than Qashqai (partly because Vezel is brought in by PI, Qashqai by Tan Chong).�

I've seen increasing numbers of Vezels plying on the roads, on average I see 5 per day. Really good choice for the consumer looking at a gorgeous ride, that is value-for-money in the current climate of expensive COEs, running costs are lower given its superb FC, and spare parts should be aplenty given that Honda is one of the most established brands around.�

It does happen. Depending on how much charge you accummulated. If the drive from the previous start up to the next is short, this would happen.

a quick update to my experience in getting a new vezel...

Delivery was delayed due to LTA, will only be ready the next working day which is the coming Monday. But my SE was willing to help me send my car down to Rendall's Groomers Lab for a full detail and paint protection! The delay was not within the PI's control (Vincar) but it was a nice gesture that my SE was willing to do this for me.

I popped over Groomers Lab and met Rendall, he went through the new car with a toothpick and helped me checked the car thoroughly! ...with the conversation we had, I realised that not all new Vezels are delivered equal. How and where the car was stored in the warehouse, which leather company they use for the seats as well as how they prep the car for you - these will make a difference to the condition of the car.�

I can say the level of detail he goes through is what I would pay for a pre-purchase inspection for delivery defects, and I am getting it free with the package I took up with him (good pricing for vezel forum members also!!!).�

He spent the whole day doing up my car interior and exterior (for a full 6+ hours) and he most definitely did a good job. I'm not a car detailing fanatic but the level of glossiness and reflectivity is just phenomenal! Not to mention how hydrophobic the coating is - you can go to his workshop to see for yourself.�

Usually, for non-loan cases, PI will usually ask you to top up $3k to whatever published prices that you agree to.

actually a lot of them already. Depends on where you look. I seen more Vezel than Altis and W205 C-Class. Vezel supply is very low, so its population growth rate now stunted.

The more the COE drops, the more u tend to lose, unless it drops below the rebate value, then u get back the differences of the COE and the rebate value. 112.8k is a good price. if you shop around, its more or less the same as what u have gotten actually.

Have discussion with XXX, and I think it good to share my case to let other know about PI deal with the customer on car collection, and hopefully new buyer can expect and prepare during collection.
1) Upon make full payment, still need to wait another one and half week to collect the car, and that is only I keep pushing them to do so. (Mostly PI take 3-4 days)
2) Collection date arrange on 6;30pm, their tactics to make you can�t see the car dirty clearly. (Yes, it very dirty, and PI ask the salesgirl to clean on the spot)
3) Fuel tank is empty with warning light. (from my own experiences, usually half/quarter tank full). Image if drive out showroom in the late night and stop at roadside.
4) HU not installed, SA written 8650, but discussion agreed in 8750 (my mistake not force him to write on the paper), after discussion, I proposed him to check with audio installer how much to top up on 30/6, and PI agreed will help me to solve the issue, but today is 5/7, after 5 days, my HU became a tissue box holder, which my problem not solve, yet PI can organize a group of cars to Chinese garden and car park to take group photos.
5) Many more issues like: delete my post on facebook, challenge me to post if I not happy about his services, ask me to cancel the order if I not happy.
Just to share my experiences, so the new buyer avoid this PI. It happened to me and can happen to other.

End up walked away from the deal aft visiting them 2 times. At first a bit regret as their price was cheaper. But after reading so much about them, i was glad i made the right decision to walk away.

Bros please take note when buying those with ready COE. Some cars were registered with COEs from,last year. So technically you would have already lost more than 6 months of useage or depreciation due to the early COE registratio by the PIs.

If you know the difference between the good quality and replica body kits you won't waste money on those replica. I rather have the orig bumper than those rubbish replicas.

COE for Cat A / B is not transferable and valid for 6 months.
COE for Cat E is transferable but valid for 3 months.

Even if you secured your COE 5 months ago (cat a/b) when you register your car now, the coe will start from the registration date not when you get the coe.
