Hi all.

Long time lurker but first post.
Got my Vezel X earlier this month and already felt comfortable driving the car since was mentally prepared after picking up all the tips shared in here.

Things I have noticed about the Vezel but may have missed out in the threads.
- the meter showing avg km/l actually takes idling state into account.
I watched my avg km/l drop from 14 to 12 while waiting to pick up someone.

- quite a few times the engine stop doesnt happen even when I dont disable it. I have a habit of immediately pushing into neutral gear upon stopping but I dont know if its the steering moving or the neutral gear causing it. (I have a heavy brake foot)

- during the engine stop, the following action starts up the engine
releasing the brake pedal
Slight turn of steering wheel
switch from neutral to drive mode

welcome to the club bro. Yes all of them have idling stop/start functionality. g is the basic version, no led headlight.

x is most popular model amongst the 3.�

My advice is you must get the guarantee COE regardless you want to buy from PI or CnC.�

CnC failed to secure the COE for me after 6 bids and refund me. I also want to buy K3 but this experience totally turn me off.

After test drive Mazda3, Altis, Elantra and HR-V, i decided to go with Vezel.�

It is really up to your preference, every car has it own pros and cons.�
But at the end i shortlisted Altis and Vezel but like Vezel more than Altis,probably i want to try compact SUV.

Do more research and decide based on your need.

Hey guys, i am looking at Vezel vs K3.

As this will be my first car, i have couple of questions, in terms of the cost of servicing/maintenance/parts repair, does it matters if its a PI or for AD like CNC?

And can i use citibank loan(1.48%) instead of the inhouse loan?

And in terms of FC, Vezel will be a better choice right, as i have seen conflicting comments elsewhere.�

Yes, you can get all the above (and maybe better upholstery) yourself but the paddle shifter.

And Yes some people do use the paddle shifter.

Although the heated front seats was of no use to our weather here. Hahaha did managed to use it when i got wet caught in the rain to heat up my pants.� [hur]

My personal experience when i struggle to choose between this few car. (k3 vs Altis vs M3 vs Elantra vs HRV vs Vezel)

K3

- I really like the design especially the LED Day light, auto fold side mirror when you lock/unlock car

- rear aircon

- rear passenger space

- many features

- fuel consumption sure not comparable to Altis

But, the CnC sales man ruined it. Told me no need to pay for guarantee COE to save money but after 3 months failed to secure COE.

Wasted 3 months just for the COE.

Altis

- the first car i tested and comfortable with it

- But feel bore with the interior design and similar feeling as my current Nissan

- rear passenger space is awesome due to flat floor design

- price is higher than K3 so i settled with CnC�

After 3 months of wait, i open my range to explore other option including those from PI

Mazda 3

- i love it after test drive

- rear passenger seat shoulder room is impressive but the leg room is the biggest concern

- i almost want to buy this car but the leg room really turn me off because i have 2 kids, and another coming soon

Elantra

- not a fan of elantra but still give it a try

- the overall experience is fine but don't like the interior and felt K3 is better

- no doubt rear passenger space is good

- price is not cheap neither (114,888 when i asked)

HR-V

- i know the similar modal is Vezel and decided to take a look

- my first intention is to check out how much Civic but attracted by HR-V display unit

- Test drove it and really like the overall design n interior.

Vezel

- no test drive available and from PI. Which many ppl is concern with. But look at the cars at the market, many are from PI and no issue with it.

- went down to Automobile megamart, touch it and felt it. I really love it and price is lower than Altis

- brought my wife down to view Vezel and convinced her to get Vezel. And we booked it, estimate to arrive by June/July, pass VITAS at Aug/Sep.�

Note: no joke. this car is really hot. every PI told me need to wait until Sep or longer.

�

For those interested, please do more research and buy base on your need and your family need.

Hope my experience can help someone to escape the bad experience from non-guarantee COE.�

P/S: must get guarantee COE without top-up

Komoco ruined the current Elantra lineup. The FL model actually got LESSER equipment than the preFL Elantra! [smash] � [thumbsdown]

The current Elantra Elite loses the following as compared to the preFL version

�

-� Dual zone climate control with LG air purifier. Current Elite model comes with, horror of all horrors, full manual aircon controls! You loose the LG air purifier as a result... totally crap considering the $$ you paid for the car these days

-� Steering column UNABLE to adjust for reach while the preFL could

-� Simplified steering wheel controls. No more cruise controls! [thumbsdown] � [smash]

-� The trip computer functions has been simplified too. No more instant fuel economy readings, only average and per trip.

-� The DRL is a joke. The headlamp has a enclosure from which LED can be installed. The enclosure for SG Elantra has very dim LEDs which is not DRL. The DRL are located on the foglamps tips and they are conventional lightbulbs... I don't know where this setup is from... the brochure didn't show such setup.

-� No HID headlamps despite brochure clearly stated as such.

-� FL Elantra taillights are NOT LED items despite the brochure clearly states as such.

-� Reverse cam is locally fitted and the display is mounted in the locally fitted rear view mirror.

- Locally fitted leather... workmanship....well... ahem...

This is why Elantra OMV can be so low. Its not even a worthy competitor to the K3 despite both sharing the same chassis.

Altis is good but you're paying a lot for an empty shell... typical of Toyota cars in SG. You can't even get 7 airbags in the car... while you could in Bolehland. And no 1.8 or 2L option. No hill start, hill decent controls either. No traction controls

Well unless BM offers VSC/traction control in the new batches of Altis... VSC wasn't included during the initial launch when there was one model only....

Deps on your package I guess. If yours ia one bid guarantee and with ready stocks then sure fast. If its like 6 bids...you also need to wait 3 months plus if assuming yu get the coe at 6th bid.

Probably, later when Vezel is a few more years down the road, when other new models comes out or the excitement for vezel had died down. [laugh]

Hi. Can anyone help advise if any shop in SG sells paint touch-up pen NH788P?

I got a small paint chip off at 'folding' edge of door (showing metal).
Looked at a few diy shops and autobac for this colour code NH788P but it only seems available online.

Figured it might rust so I temporarily touch up with a diff white. (Championship white)

For Vezel, you can try Jazz's brake callipers. Why do u want to change the stock callipers to another identical one?

i think i choose vezel over K3 since i never had korean car before & after i read very positive feedback from this forum (poison). If i choose 'S' version the rims are on 17. X & G on 16.Am i right? Any vezel brothers here can verified for me? Whats the pcd for the vezel rim? coz quite recently i just upgrade to 17 inch OZ racing on my FD and feel it such a waste to let go if i m selling/trading my ride. Thought of using my back my OZ racing rims on vezel.. [;)]

yes. same PCD. FD and Vezel. 5*114.3.

your OZ racing rims should have the center bore adaptor to fit the 64.1mm center bore.

I am also on the fan between�vezel & qashqai. Only "S" mode seems to be better than�qashqai. The price is just few Ks difference plus AD provides 3+2�warranty. I like the feel of�qashqai during the test drive, not sure how was it compared with Vezel.

It is not as simple as you may see it. �

I believe PI did not guarantee you coe 57K and car 53k.

�

You signed a deal for 110K for delivery on certain month.�

�

You still have to wait for the estimate delivery date. This window can varies depend upon many factors.

�

If they secure COE at lower level its PI gain, If they secure COE at higher level its PI loss.

�

COE gained earlier does not entitle you for immediate tests before getting your VAC.

�

I am not PI but buyer same as you.�

For those considering,.....let me share my thoughts & experience.

Vezel is really a good FC car. [thumbsup]

I clocked average 17km/L.....this is far better than my previous 12km/L Korean made car.

My PI delivered my ride as promised.....Going for 1k servicing soon. [bounce2]

�

Mathematically, assuming COE at $65k, if PI offers 4 bids guaranteed COE w/o top up $114K, then i think it is "FAIR" deal for X model.

With the same assumptions as above, anything <$110k is a "GOOD" deal.

With same assumptions, anything <$105k, you better watch your PI.....keep your fingers crossed that your PI don't run away with your $.

Typically, the standard PI payment sequence:

1) Pay $10k for booking......they will go bid COE , which you can check on-line (if they did)

2) COE secured. Car passed inspection, ~1wk before delivery, you pay the balance.

�

Watch out if your PI asked for frequent payment as & when........just my 2 cents.

Last thing you want to happen is that your PI run away with your $ & you don't get your car.

Bro, that's why ..... u paying $110k but deals closed at recent times are at least $115k onwards ..... so yr deal is considered low profit margin n of course least priority.
You will hv a case if there is an agreed delivery date stated in your agreement.

There is nothing wrong with this vehicle... Just tat thinking of giving up on driving.

You can ignore them. Those are gimmicks by PI who misuse the second hand ads section for their advertisements.

There are quite a number have ready stocks. Ready stock is not VITAS ready. The cars are on our shores and might already be in the different stages of LTA test procedures or sitting in our port.

You can try LBH Motors in Turf City. Last time i heard from my friend who purchased from them that they have a few units.

A few of my friends collected their rides from them.

I have no relation or any vested interest in them. I am just a buyer same as you.

WCEGA has 3-4 dealers with ready stock, both S & X.

West Coast Car Mart has a few X Models. One black fully ready, inspected, but HU is 1750.

Another dealer, neared to the exit has a blue and a white on display.

Right, guess we really have to do our research. Balance the pros and cons, the items they throw in, the warranty period and mileage coupled with which workshop they partner with, etc. There are some PIs who have been around for more than 5 years, probably safer to work with them? I mean, our hearts would be more at ease with our hard-earned money involved.

Yup, they're almost exactly the same on the exterior. The inside feels different, Vezel > HR-V.

Went for a test drive last week at KM to try out the HRV.. so far satisfy with the drive and space but the price is CRAZY.

I believe the Vezel will be even better in terms of value ,equiptment and performance.

I have tried switching from 95 RON to 98 RON on the advice of the workshop,
and here are my findings:-

95 RON, 38.5L clocked 440 KM

You do lot of city driving? My mileage is 560 for 38 litres of 95 Ron. Journey to the west daily to work place, distance around 40km and fuel consumption is around 18km/l.

Yup, they're almost exactly the same on the exterior. The inside feels different, Vezel > HR-V.
Even more so under the bonnet.

Just look at the headlights you will know...if assuming most vezels are X vaiant..

My job requires me at least 99% city driving with alot of start stop in short distance. My only worry is that wear and tear...I not afraid of the reliability of the Honda engine..

I am also having a lot of city driving. Find that if you don't step on the brake too hard, the engine cutoff would not activate. The other way is to turn ur steering wheel a bit just as you are stopping. That seems to prevent you from getting into stopping the engine as well.

$119,999 with 5yr warranty to 150k and free 3yr servicing, coe rebate 66k?

I test drove it and liked the way it drove, though i thought the interior was a bit garish, more like sitting inside a kids toy than a car. Main stumbling block for more was the high road tax due to diesel engine. Only suitable �for those bro with very high annual mileage where the fuel savings can offset the tax bill i think. For my slightly below average 17-18k per year it didnt make economic sense....

This one i'm not so sure but what I do know is that Diesel cars sold in SG all need to pump Euro 5 Diesel grade but Malaysia very hard to find petrol stations that have this grade.�

The reason why start stop is there is for regulations purpose. It is detrimental to the car (ie wear and tear). More suitable without air con in temperate/cold climate.

Wanted to ask you guys if you know how to turn off the car without turning off the Head Unit? I still haven't figured out how. So like say you're waiting for someone in the carpark, how to turn off the engine (to wait) but still leave the music on?

The reason i'm asking is that i mainly listen to music from my DVD filled with MP3s. Everytime I turn off and on the car (and head unit), the stupid Head Unit takes about 2.5 minutes to "format read" the whole DVD before it can start playing music.

Speaking of which, mine is the most basic Pioneer AVH-165DVD player. Not sure if you guys also encounter this very long "format read" time duration also?

I wondered if the "format read" time will be reduced if I use USB input. however for whatever reason, the USB input can't seem to work (nothing happens when i connect the USB drive to the cable inside the glove compartment) so didn't get to test this out.

Next, i wonder if you guys found any way to get rid of the irritating "auto brake" thing. even when i turn it off, randomly it'll activate - sometimes it's a carpark barrier, but sometimes it's really just no visible obstacle, e.g. waiting to turn right at the traffic light.

Lastly, wanna share with you about the engine oil. Before my 5000km servicing and oil change, i was using whichever oil that came originally with the vezel. Each tank could get around 550km. But the SPARK centre changed to W40 oil (which they claimed is "good for hondas") and after that the fuel consumption dropped to 470km. Damn pissed off. Went to buy the recommended OW20 and to SPARK's credit they changed for free. Now going to monitor the new FC.

I agree. Similarly i like wrapping but my wife doesn't, even when she is not the one using the car. Hence in the end i did not. My wife is also the one who warn me against getting renault. So despite lacking tech knowledge, they do have some sense of general knowledge.

for my 8yrs+ latio 4AT, w30 gets around 12-13km/l and w40 gets around 11-12km/l... very minor drop... [grin]

Thats like 8% diff. Significant actually. Many snail oils n even exp magic stones cant do this.
