Honda Vezel part 64

  • 10 April 2015 - 03:26 PM
    Tolecnal

Received news from a Dealer on the so called "Improved version" of the Vezel.

    The differences are:

    1. Softened rear suspension

    2. 99 % UV windows

    3. Sharp plasma cluster ION AC

Improvement 1 & 3 imo are great updates,

However for 2 I was told with the new UV windows it will not pass LTA inspection.

So end up dealer will need to change the UV windows locally.

actually I thought wrapping is at most1000 bucks as I seen my friend did on his Stream.

Good thing with wrap...bird shit wont cause permanent stain... and in fact easier to wash off.

Personally though, wrapping the whole car is not so nice in my opinion.

Maybe the cost is due to me looking at the glossy pearl range for the wraps.

The bird shits and the occasional paint chips cause by other party's door made me consider wrapping as I have tried PPS on my current ride not really ideal imo.

U should check out those glossy wraps which look really nice!

Maybe it is more economical to drive without any special coating or wrap for next few years and then spend some $ to respray when the paintwork get real back.

that sounds reasonable. by then, maybe got new technology for the paintwork!

Did my 3 layers 3-4 months ago... Not so impressive. Weekly wash left the car with some swirl mark, and stone chip ( big and small stones also tiok).... Maybe need to do 10 yrs...

Bro,if wanna prevent stone chips etc need to stick protective film on paintwork. V exp.
when u wash car, must use microfibre cloth, and car washing requires certain level of skill also. Watched quite a bit of detailing youtube shows that teach us how to avoid scratching or swirling our own cars.

Btw,go back to ur service provider if u feel the swirls were not tackled properly.

My experience on many layers of tough PPS is fantastic so far. Super dried up encrusted Bird shit and hardened tree sap no longer leave spots after i clean them away easily. Previously,a permanent bird acid mark can be seen.

I was also naive to think that PPS prevents from stone chips till i did more research n accepted reality that i cant expect an orange to taste like an apple..and an orange.

i asked for protective self healing protective film wrap quotes, those they use on military chopper blades, the demo was impressive!! But the price was not. For vezel, 2.5k for front of car (bumper, bonnet, side fenders), 1.5k for all 4 doors (to prevent paint chip off by side banging doors)...i stopped asking from those 2 quotes. Did not even ask for full car prptective film wrap. I stick to finding safer parking lots

The car was only launched not too long ago and a new facelift coming out?

Car was launched 4th qtr 2013 or earlier, facelift usually 1.5-2yrs. However this round i rather think of it as an "improved parts" version. Facelift gives an impression of visual changes to the car, wrong vocab. I'm not sure what is improvised version though

Basic care of car paint shud be given bah..must wash those stubborn dirt off fast. But depends, some guys v sim tia on swirl marks and water stains, bird shit stains. Some guys cant be bothered even if kena bombarded by over 100 spots of bird shit parked under tree. If left non taken care off, some cars suey suey within 3 years, the car paint disgustingly worn off. cannot tahan haha..i personally dun mind few hundred bucks to save on co stant polishing n waxing that lasts 3-4mths. Which costs easuly 100bucks a session, and works out to be say 300bucks a yr if done 3 times.
for vezel owners, most of us are still within the new car syndrome stage haha

not sure if this applies to cars as well, but it is very hard to obtain the quality of factory paintwork with workshop resprays.

Totally agree.... The main difference is the difference in paint application and curing. In Singapore workshop it's all just air cure or single stage oven cure vs multistage (reflow) in factory :)

    ZionAuto

why would you believe that a side step would void your insurance policy?

no offence to ZionAuto but I doubt the facelift to be valid. Why do I say so?

1st - There are "rumours" of an enhancement coming along in middle of 2015, tweaks to aircon, tweaks to glass, tweaks to suspension, etc....

2nd - There are "rumours" of a facelift in late 2015.......

Any developer would not be releasing enhancements of such in batches. This strategy does not gain them the type of market share they are after but well I maybe wrong but that's my rationale mind going at it :)

none taken bro. u have a point. but this r my own findings, it may be true, it may not. but what we have tats concrete is, the 1st "rumour" is actually true coz i hv placed 2 orders for them already. but the car will only reach our shores after july when the new CEVS kicks in.

took advice from bro soonkway about topping up the battery water

amazing! i used up almost 3/4 of the bottle ($1.50 from shell kiosk) when i toppped it up last evening. i have chalked up almost 6500k and it surprised me that so much was used.

it's easy to do and after this experience, will do it regularly as i don't want to get caught off-guard with the water level low, or have to spend on replacing the battery.

    thanks, bro soonkway

Hi bro,is urs an X or S model?

The roaring feel may be due to the thin sound insulation and vibrations from the pedal and leg area floor board.

I just did the 10K service and I asked the service supervisor about topping battery water and he told me no need as it is a maintenance free battery.

So for maintenance free battery, we can still add battery water overtime our self?

Hi just sharing what I know, correct me if I am wrong.

For maintenance free battery, once the acid is poured into the battery the opening are sealed so topping up will not feasible.

As for the old school battery, they have caps where you can screw off to facilitate topping up to each column, (Just need to top up with distilled water)

I drive a X and i too find it noisy. Also depends what was your previous car. If quiet type, then you will not feel the difference.

When you are approaching to do your 1K servicing, do not use w40 engine oil, which is very common in Singapore.Honda manual says w20 but most ofususe w30. Using w40 will be louder and lower FC.

wonder is there is anything to make the car quieter.

I am a little surprised.. This is a modern car and should be quiet. But its seems even noisier than those 10 year old Civic? Or I remember wrongly...

I was also surprised too as my previous ride was Sylphy which was much more quiet. Imagine using the latest technology but poor insulation.

There are some bro who install after market sound insulator at door, which does help to a certain extend toinsulateoutside noise. However to insulate engineroar, you will need to installit at the firewall, which would be quite complex.I did not do it so I can't tell you much.

Anyway, I learn to live with it and try not to lut too much to reduce engine roar while in SG.

if i'm not wrong, on the side or top of the battery , it will state whether it is maintenance-free or not. for the one i have (and bro soonkuay), you can see by one look on the battery surface that there are about 5 'screw-caps' that can be detached to top up the water.

i like the engine growl actually. SUV supposed to feel rugged yet refined and composed at the bends.

If it's super quiet, then quite boring actually.

For each individual, it wud also be very subjective and depends on what we compare it with.

Technically all non maintenance battery can last very long, but if one adds more load on the battery(overloading with other electronic devices) then its not the fault of the battery but the owner of the car that make the battery not last as long as it should.

Totally agreed...I used dry on 3 different cars for the past 5 years. Every year I got to change plus it went flat on 4 occasions. Despite having warranty, but the hassle of having to call the batt guy to come...and they do not change the battery...they just recharge on the spot if possible....be it amaron or bosch, same issues.

I've been using maintenance free batteries for my car since day 1. The 1st batt which came with the car lasted for 3 yrs before the mechanic advised me to change it. So far each batt lasts me an average of 2 yrs per batt so I think it's okie. But it all depends on individual usage.

My previous Honda City which was scrapped in Jan this year..... well, I only changed the battery only once throughout it's 10 years usage. ... The stock battery lasted 6+ years & only requires me to top up battery water once every 2 months interval after the 3rd year. The replacement battery was MF battery.

If I mentioned I installed aftermart voltage stabilizer/regulator and grounding when I took stock of the car 10 yrs ago, ppl here would probably debate until cow comes home on such gadget.

If you ask me whether I will continue to install such gadget again on my coming new ride... my answer is YES.

Hello everyone, will anyone be able to advise if it is possible to get a Vezel Hybrid with English language instrument clusters and head unit?

I'm keen on something with a little more power and without a CVT [bounce2]

No true. My Mazda car original without any add on devices, the non maintenance battery last 1 year plus. Last 4 years I change 4 batteries. Top up battery abit troublesome but last 2-3 years for 1 battery. I will refer to use top-up for my new Vesel.

Non maintenance battery can go flat without warning..

    i agree with that too

i experienced it a few times on both my mazda 3 and gti before

    Hi fellow Vezelians!

Just test drove the honda hrv at kah motor.
was surprised by the quiet ride. Not as harsh or noisy as claimed on the vezel ride that i read.

Wonder if hrv got better insulation materials.

Snap u r out of luck. Vezel hybrid is only available in japan as of now so that will be the only source of stock. U can still order it with the factory head unit, language aside, the gps and radio won't work here. I did the math, the head unit itself cost about 2k plus so totally not worth the trouble.

Noise is relative. Best is to go test drive a vezel and compare. And must be same road same conditions. Even tyres make a difference. But even if hrv is really quiter, i also would choose vezel for the better specs. Sound insulation can always do aftermarket.

Very different experience with mine. Or maybeu r more used to cvt engine. The engine was roaring the moment i accelerated. But I have not driven vezel yet, still waiting. Cannot compare the noise level.

Yes. I prefer kawaii!! Was just testing drive to see what is the difference in terms of feel compared to vezel instead of just comparing paper which vezel specs and features are better. But I must say the price difference is quite shocking...

Yes. I prefer kawaii!! Was just testing drive to see what is the difference in terms of feel compared to vezel instead of just comparing paper which vezel specs and features are better. But I must say the price difference is quite shocking...

Did you ask AD about the HRV's OMV, CEVS, PARF value?

Omv is about 23k. Cevs 5k which will be nullified by july. Parf would be 9k based on 5k cevs. But price wise is like almost 20k above vezel. 18-20k for about 4-5k parf difference....not to mention lower specs...a bit hard to swallow...at 130+k i will look at harrier instead...my opinion only...

I dun think it's 130k, that's the list price..... It should be cheaper
Come July no more 5k CEVS rebate.... then should the PARF be higher?
    OMV not equal to PARF?

For OMV less than $20K it is the same as ARF

For OMV above $20K it is not equal to ARF

ARF is not the same as PARF

Usually PARF is about half of OMV.

Wonderful thread with 154 pages that took me 5 days to skim through! Thanks everyone.

Will be going down to PI this weekend and possibly sign the dotted line if there's a good deal on X. If anyone receives offers on X recently, would very much appreciate if you could pm me the price and freebies offered.

I have an Optra 1.6 2009 with slightly more than 60,000km to trade in. Almost stock with leather seats. Am the only one owner. Anyone has an idea of the fair trade-in price?

    Many thanks in advance.

Saw a couple of Vezel on the road, all white . Does PI only bring in white colour? I plan to get the Vezel but worry about the maintenance and reliable workshop supporting it.

Go to Sg Car Mart... See the price... Then u minus $10k from that price. That is the price the dealer will offer you. 10k is the minimum profit that dealer will take from each car that you sold to them.

The best of course is to shop around. Tell dealer that you have a car to trade in. Use that to get guaranteed COE bidding plus the things that you want... Be it leather seat, GPS, sports rim, tinted glass etc...

A difference of $10k sounds very big. I guess selling at sgcarmart quotz would require quite minimal effort and shouldn't have so big a difference, right?

135k is hard to swallow indeed. Somehow prices shot up recently. Early March got quoted 140+ for a Harrier. Now it seems a jump in price.

Comparing a Vezel to HR-V somewhat not so apple to apple comparison it seems since there are differences between them. The HR-V should be compared to the Vezel S model since it has paddle shifter and 17 inches rims.

    Major difference:

    1. SOHC HR-V vs DOHC Direct Injection (Vezel)

    Minor difference:

    1. Spare tyre includedin HR-V (Fit into recess area and flush)

    2. No Econ mode, CTBA, and auto start stop engine in HR-V

    3. Flush to dashboard 7 inches Head unit in HR-V

4.Mobile phoneswitches on steering wheel of HR-V

Agreed bro on some of the features comparisons to the S. But engine wise, headlights, and lack of econ, ctba plus idling stop sort of push hrv to even lower than the X model even.

17 inch rims on hrv loses aesthetically to that of S. Plus rims can be easily changed. The paddle shifters are a nice add ons but to be honest I hardly use this. I must agree the HU is nice but if i can find a nice pioneer or alpine unit (less than 1k), the quality may be better, unless hrv comes with renowned built in ice and HU unit. If i were to compare with mazda 3 HU, I would say hrv one is not that appealing

Forgot 1 significant difference between them.

Vezel made in jeepoon.... HR-V in Thailand?

+ - gear shift on shifter lever or some call it tiptronics?

    Vezel don't have though.

last weekend test drive HR-V, tot it's similar as Vezel,

but very disappoint compare to Vezel in term of interiorbuilt quality, engine refinement, power and price

don't think it can sell wellwhile Vezel in market
