Honda Vezel part 43

Yah your mileage may vary, I don't think I pushed for more stuff enough but comparing my PI's offer across the 4 other PIs I went to, theirs were the best. Freebie is up to each individual to ask for more. To me the leather seats, bluetooth and audio control were a must, the rest, up to you to decide if you wanna push for it. I intend to buy my own car camera and after pushing the car dealer who said he don't carry the car cam brand I want, it also wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Loan and insurance usually depends on PI. Either 1.98% or 2.28%. The PIs also insist you have to take the 60% loan so that they can earn abit of what you would have paid the bank as interest, but in any case I aim to repay the lump sum with some early repayment penalty once it is possible.

Usually car insurance and road tax not included in the package, the PI will help you source for 3-4 quotes to choose, then you pay the remainder of your DP + insurance on the day you collect your ride.

agree.. my loan was 2.28pct but i loan min sum only so i chin chai..intend to fully pay off end of 2 yrs.

Road tax usually included also i think.. What's the brand of recording cam you're looking for?

Looking at Thinkware F550, and the rear camera, about 430USD on amazon. Haven't seen it on sale locally.

isit AVH-X5750BT? retail is at $899, now many places discount given at ard $699

or AVH-X8650BT? retail at $1199, after discount i saw $899.

But usually if our PIs buy from installer, is even lower cost for them.

I am new here and is planning to order a vezel x model from Leco prestige at Turf City. Anyone here has any feedbacks on Leco? I understand that quite a number of owners bought from them and I trust that they are the more reputable one? I was told that I need to put a deposit of 20K and is that the norm? Any feedback or things that I should ask or lookout for would be greatly appreciated.... :)

I booked from Leco Prestige but what I like about their service was that they did not push the sale. They shared their experience and knowledge about where the COE is heading plus they offered me the best trade-in deal for my Wish among all the other PIs.

But best if you shop around to best understand what you need and can get. I went to 4 different PIs before deciding on the Vezel at Leco Prestige.

    Just for sharing..
This figure can be deceiving, bro. Simple note is, when is the km noted mid-mark? The mid-mark do have a range, between "low-mid-high" of the mid-mark, it will still appear the "mid-mark". likewise the relative km mid-mal also will various. That's why it is always more accurate to do the manual calculation of using the km travelled divided by the volume of petrol topped up during next refill*.
    * physics teacher taught "What goes in = What comes out".
So how much petrol you consume to travel that km is how much you gotta top up in the tank now..

Yeah, I think so too, the 1st half move very slowly, but right after that i goes down faster, seems that the tank sensor is not so accurate, will top up in the next couple of days, and will check the overall consumption.

Original seat from Japan is fabric. Most of the PI will throw in leather seat (FOC or already cost in) for client, to suit Singaporean appetite. Since going to change, may as well let client choose/customise, client also happy. Frankly speaking, the cost of leather seats is a lot more then that ($300).. And as i said, mostly PI will include it in. UNLESS, it has already completed by your choice colour, then you ask to re-change again, then the freeby only complimentary for once. If then, the "co-pay" offer is a good 1..
But if it's your 1st time choosing the leather seat colour & your PI ask you to pay, whatever the amount, they are not honest.. Better reconsider your choice of PI.
Another possibility is, some other people had chosen the leather seats but decided don't want it & negotiated successfully from them. So, somehow someone if don't like THE leather colour gotta pay for changing it.. My guess..

Bro, it might be quite possible if the so called almost tan leather seats are almost full leather. The current leather PI provided are just half leather. Anyway it all depends on the price you paid. If you pay more, you get more freebies. Eventually I rather get a lower price and get less freebies since most of the time the PI also mark up the freebies they give you. You may get it cheaper outside yourself. But of course the hassle free of having everything installed ready for u.

    3. 1.5 engine (more powerful)

    1.2QQ turbocharged

    1. Better equipment level(so much better)

    2. daylight running lights

Have you test drive both cars? Other than 5k price difference, do look at the road tax/insurance costs and also maintenance costs for both vehicles. This will let you know the actual costs, instead of looking at price alone.
    1.2QQ turbocharged

Do test drive both cars. And also look at the cost of maintaining the 2 vehicles (road tax, insurance, vehicle maintenance, etc) other than price alone.

    Hi,

Tested 1.2QQ. sluggish during the take off. I believe Vezel should be better (where to test drive Vezel??)

Both being Cat A, road tax should be similar, while insurance should not differ too much right? Vexel maybe slightly higher..

Same dilemma as me. QQ for its lower road tax also but at 5-6k more ex. I'm leaning towards Vezel though for presumably better driving feel. I test drove the QQ. It was a little sluggish off the block which may not appeal to some. Turbo kicks in at rpm 2.5 and above thereabt.

    Hi Goh,

I have test drove 1.2QQ and I must admit that it is very competitive with Vezel. Below is my comments:

Look wise: Both have nicesporty look through Vezel has younger look and QQ more executive look!

Cabin space: QQ wheelbase is 2646mm vs Vezel 2610mm. So QQ supposed to have slightly larger interior space. But Vezel has magic seat to make its cabin space big enough too.

Power: Vezel wins with larger cc but QQ 1.2 turbo provide sufficient power too at SG road condition. However, it engine may struggle to push QQ above 130km/h if you travel at NS highway in MY.

Equipment: QQ is better but it seems that the HU is not factory fitted and it is OEM one. Few customer complaint the quality of the HU if you refer to QQ forum topic. Hope Tan Chong has resolved the problem already. You can install high end HU for Vezel as you have already save 5K as it cheaper than QQ.

After sales service: QQ definately wins as 5 years warranty and free service is provided. But for JDM Vezel, it should be reliable so no worry about its warranty.

Suggest you go to test drive QQ and see any kind soul here allow you to test drive their Vezel and judge yourself [:p]

Fully agree! I hope this list can help with fellow potential vezel owners have a better idea at a glance. Talking about negotiations, we buyers are at most times at the losing end. Also became emo when i saw someone feedback that SE ask him top up $$$ for leather seats. I think the SE too much.

Actually for myself, i din ask for leather seats, only "leatherized" the door panels. Kept the original half fabric half leather colour scheme of the hybrid. Feels more authentic to me. In future i can always change leather seats by gg back to my PI for them to do for me at dealer price. They still have to consider my future wife's new ride, sure do for me hehe..i think..

In fact i did not get most of those stuff in list 2, i added them there after speaking to bros who had good deals. If i had this list to help me b4 my purchase would have asked for at least 1 or 2 items more. Then again each of our buying scenarios are different. I am glad my dealer managed to consign sell off my prev ride at 10k above his trade in price, and 16k above the next best trade in price by other dealers who obviously thinks i'm a carrot head. And i got my ride within 1 week! To me, non-usage of car is a big inconvenience especially if i have to run a few appts in a day stretching from east to west, north to south hehe.

Agreed, it's up to the consumer (us) to do our own homework and find out what is a good price to pay for a car we are looking to buy, if you feel like you are getting a good package with the amount of money you pay, I think that is good enough.

You can try to squeeze as much out of the dealer as you want, but I think there is a bottom line for every dealer as they have their own margins and profits to meet also. I will take a low price over freebies any day. Most importantly, think the whole experience of buying and owning the new car should be a good one,

Given that COE has dropped and hopefully will continue to drop further, do consider the Hybrid as well. Before shunning away by being afraid of upkeep costs and this and that, should do more research.

My firm belief that Hybrid should soon be selling 10-13k above X model in the near future, if not, then we should depress price!! If we use the $$ difference given existing COE, we will be getting much more car than the money we pay. The amount of default accessories the hybrid has also will let use save time and effort hunting for them, which also costs money.

Anyone likes technology can google Honda i-dcd to find out more. Put the Hybrid performance beside QQ, be it 2L or 1.2L turbo, totally no fight.

QQ wise, i love it too, if i have the moolahs and COE is less than 10k, i would have both cars haha. In fact i may buy the X-trail instead. Have a neighbour who bought a new hot red QQ. One word..SEXY!!! We like to park our cars near or facing each other, like a show down. And Nissan's new xtronic CVT is really the cream of the crop. The part i'm not happy about is when COE dropped abt 6k for Cat B, their price only dropped 3k. That's BULL!! From my perspective, AD is of the view that the market is still filled with carrot heads when it comes to cars, which unfortunately i do not disagree.

Check this 0-100 clip on vezel hybrid Sports mode! Being someone who drives a 2.0L 240bhp turbo boxster and a 2.4L 200bhp ivtec K24 before, i am extremely impressed by the capabilities of this car! And together with Niltram bro, we're finding new feel and new tech each day. We're trying to gently cruise on full EV mode(battery powered electric motor) in carparks or small estates and campuses, we're getting well above 30km/l for the short trip itself. Overall i believe getting 18km/l FC is easy with normal driving, 70 city, 30 highway

Bro, vezel confirmed more spacious!! I am 1.81m with a 50plus inch chest. I sit comfortably in the front seat as well as in the rear. Bought the car also becos of that, baby is on the way, i need a more spacious utilitarian vehicle. Looks small from the outside, but the interior space usage design is superb!

My guess..

Changing vezel interior to full leather upholstery is less than 500 for dealer price. The upholstery shop have to only earn a small margin becos they have large volume

    shiok hor..

its not modified..the added power comes from the electric motor. hybrid nowadays are geared towards economical plus performance. Prev IMA for civic hybrid is boring.

just calculated, based on latest 98 fuel prices after discount, my 11.5km/l on the accord vs min of 18km/l on the hybrid, savings of at least $1450/yr. Add on to rd tax savings of $990/yr. Servicing on less EO also have savings..shiokness

Added savings can substantially offset problems with battery etc..and with added fun!! can't complain
The new tech on the latest Accord Hybrid and Accord Plug In is even more powerful. If only Honda can be crazy enough to plonk the engine and motor of the accord hybrid into the vezel. God Mode!!! 60km/l no proble. FC wise easily 40km/l and above!

Sharing the 1st tank FC shot. Finished the 1st partial tank after taking delivery of the car. Filled to the brim of 40L zhun zhun, so far about 1 week of use. Still at about 700km, not fully run in yet. Saturday scheduled for 1st servicing. Will be sharing manual calculation (a habit i have everytime i pump) soon. From the looks of it, i hope can get 750km or more for full tank. Second half of the fuel gauge for most cars usually fall at a faster rate.

Hi bro, may i know how do you calculate the figures above, OMV+ARF+? Dun really understand how a 8K difference b/w X and Z model can account for more than 20k in price, when the COE diff is about 8k.

Can compare car cost as such...i may be wrong but this is what i gather from LTA, not including inspection fees.

    Assuming Vezel S Model:

OMV = $20347 (got this from onemotoring Dec 2014 data)

    Excise Duty =$4069.40(20% of OMV)

GST =$1709.15(7% of OMV + Excise Duty)

    Reg Fee =$140

    ARF=$10486(after 10000 CEV rebate)

    Total gross costs b4 inspection & misc = $36751.55

    Assuming Vezel Hybrid:

    OMV=$23000

    Excise Duty =$4600

    GST =$1932

    Reg Fee =$140

    ARF =$9200(after 15000 CEV rebate)

Total gross costs b4 inspection & misc =$38872.00

In a strict sense, other than higher warranty costs, Hybrid should not cost alot more than X or S model.

So if we talk about 50k for car body X model, gross profit is decent. Same for the rest.

Then of course running a business with showroom to show credibility etc, good feeling during the shopping process so we dun mind paying few k more for the aircon..all these need money, can factor in to the cost of car and freebies.

Add on to commission earned from loan and insurance..nett nett profit margin estimated at $10k for an entry level car.

My numbers may totally be wrong, anyone can correct me or add on pls do so. Much much more to learn. In future we do group buy!! Haha, import cars our own, or buy from importer. Throw out a 3-5k commission per car, everything settled, just need a date and venue of delivery for car storage b4 inspection.

I did not get to test drive the 1.2T but on 2L, so I cannot say much about the engine. However I would agree that running the 1.2T in MY highway would be a challenge not to mentioned going up Genting or Cameron Highlands.

Comparing to a sedan, the SUV rear seat is very upright and makes you sit up straight, not relax mode.In QQ, the rear seats are really straight up. We tried to adjust the angle but was max.Vezel ismuch better but still lose to a sedan. I also understand1.2T has 5 years warranty but onlyfirst 3 servicing FOC, unless they upgrade the package recently. Only the 2L has 5 years free servicing.

Yes bro, u are right the temperature really goes higher on a turbo charged engine especially in smaller cc where the turbo must spool in order to get into the speed. NA engines normally can just whack without much worry about heating up in long distance travels.

i frequent north cos i like to travel to malacca, genting. I felt safer going NA but that's just me. Maybe technologies has changed cos i'm still driving a manual car as of now..haha few days more i shall be able to relac my left foot.

The turbo charged cars of today are different from the past. The turbines are water cooled as part of the engine block cooling system. This will regulate overall temperatures of the coolant and engine oil.

Your added maintenance risk is that of the turbine and its hoses. Turbine bearing kaput, hoses crack, etc.
small price to pay for added fun

hi bro, nowadays is either glass coating or ceramic coating. i did glass coating b4 at 250plus in my ex-car. do u have in mind what kind of other paint protection you want? if it's high end carnuba waxing which washes off in 3-4mths..i tink needa pay anything 50-150 per session of grroming every quarter.

Thanks for the detailed calculation bro Rational. Seems like the diff between X and Z taking into account of 8k Coe diff and about 2k basic cost diff should be around 10k. So additional 10k is to account for the hybrid maintenance. Hopefully, the hybrid model price will drop once more dealers bring in the model.

welcome bro. hope i din offend anyone. vezel is entry level car, hefty profit alredy. if we churn the numbers for merc and bmw..hohoho..powerful! still feel alot of other costs involved not accted for.

from e calculation, kinda seems like Hybrid OMV was under-declared. My unit's OMV was only 22k plus. have to make up for actual costs paid with higher asking price. any higher costs incurred at ARF wud mean even higher asking price then it wud not.be competitive already as it moves towards the realm of european car pricing.

One other cost which is very difficult to quantify is business risk. The organization may have used credit facilities to bring the car in or paid in cash, there is risk to these ;) there is risk that inventories sit around in singapore for long time, etc... So considering the margins they make while not heap lot is fair. That's imo ;)

Since now Kah Motors has listed the HRV, do you guys think that Vezel price will be affected (ie drop) to compete for market share ?

Just my opinion, I think the price will maintain or increase. I think many people will be waiting for KM to launch the HRV and test drive it. Once they know the spec and for those who compare to the Vezel spec will cross over to PI.

The CTBA button is located at the right side of the steering wheel. Once press, the CTBA indicator light will turn on (means CBTA deactivated).

I was scare initially but got use to it. It is actually a very good safety function. Now only if I am going a up/down slope gantry, I will switch off CTBA and on again after passing the gantry.

    (If I can remember [:p])

I try some combinations later then tell you.

Hi Bro Dino, with regards to your doubt on the Elect. Hand Brake...

I tried activated the Electronic-Brake during driving (at slow speed cos dunno what gonna happen) and release it, I noted that it seems to be deactivated the moment I release my hand. And the car can still drove off, still in the "D" mode. So it does brake the car but in lighter force, just like you controlling the Mech type Hand-Brake.

I tried again activating the Elect-Brake & HELD on to it, during driving situation (slow speed again), it will hold as long as my finger is pulling the button, just like the Mech-Hand Brake, until the car completely stopped.

So in clonclusion, the Electronic Hand Brake function just like the Mech Hand Brake, except that you cannot control the pressure / force of the Brake like a Mech type where the harder you pull the harder it brakes. The Elect. Hand Brake will release as soon as you release your finger off the button. And the Elect. Hand Brake force is not so hard as compare to the Mech. type.

Safety Note : For those who wish to try out, pls do so in a "deserted" Car Park. [nod]

i also try not to move too fast to gantry.

however there are a few times when i am approaching a bigger SUV or say a lorry or pick up the CBTA will kick in if i throttle it too much

so its safe to say it kinda like 'assist' u in trying not to approach the front vehicle too fast

I tried a few times & perceived the following :

    1. If your foot is on the Brake pedal, it would not work. (Cos it means that you are in control & decision of how near you want to close in).

    2. It is relative to speed to determine the CTBA kick-in distance.
