Is there any different between. CAT A & B with current COE price so close.

The Vezel is in Cat B?

Sgcarmart lists it as a 1.5L with 129hp. Should be Cat A.

I like it a lot too.

But I'd prefer to buy one from the AD... and of course historically, Honda cars have been priced at a premium compared to other JDM makes so the price needs to be competitive otherwise it just won't be worth it.

Haha I'm pretty sure you'd be correct.
The City is about to launch. It was projected to be about $5-6K less than the new Altis initially (before the last COE dip). It is I think a reasonable price point for it though as it is apparently extremely spacious and better equipped than the Altis. 6 airbags and rear a/c for eg. I no longer see the City as the Vios' competitor as it really is much better equipped. It seems to be in between the Vios and Altis now. The Civic unfortunately remains overpriced against it's competitors.

iirc, read in last evenings ST that City is 111k. Cant recall if there was any mention of MT/CVT. My guess, its the CVT.

Oh that's approx $10+K less than an Altis (based on sgcarmart Toyota pricing)... reasonable pricing... But still >$10K above a Mz3! Wonder what the OMV of these 3 cars are?

I believe there are few PI at Turf City selling Honda Vezel, I'm sure there will be some not sold & on display, cannot be so fast all sold out. Btw, where did you see the car at?

Think only Vezel & Jazz 1.5 have the new 1.5L DOHC DI with higher comp (11.5) engine.

129hp/155nm looks good for an NA 1.5.

Theres no 3rd row seats in the shuttle, so i think its suppose to be stationwagon, in fact, im quessing it replaces the Honda Airwave. Use to have an airwave, really liked it, super huge boot, comfy for family of 5, yet is a 1.5 engine so FC is very good. Only thing is not powerful, feel like driving a Fit, but then its super practical if u ask me. That time buy oni $66k brand new, so felt like a realy good deal for a huge car

Me too I have only 2 kids and I am addicted to big boot space. If that is so why not look at Suzuki S-cross, big boot, compact SUV, has a slightly bigger engine 1.6/115 hp but a lighter body still falls in CatA and has a better specs than Honda Vezel. The only concern is the driveability of this suzuki cause the only suzuki I test drove b4 is the Liana which I personally feel CMI. go test drive to confirm.

Take note PI stocks only a few cars and they are damn stingy when coming to granting test drive.

AD like champion motors should grant test drive much easily.

Sorry I was referring to gadgets when Imentioned specs. Keyless entry, rain sensors, sunroof etc.... Correct me if i am worng Honda always comes in with very little gadgets and the dash board always look so boring but reliablity is good.

You are right! S Cross basic model already have better accessories(auto cruise etc)than Vezel basic and both prices quite similar. Based on performance specs on paper, Vezel is better but cannot test drive...

Note that S Cross's paranomic roof is for higher range, 20K above the basic model

A pity though for Suzuki. If only they can improve on their engine and transmission it will sell like hotcake abate COE drop lah. For one, I am not looking forracer buta with decent pick up, reasonable power for occasional overtaking and up slope. That will do.

Vezel don't test drive also can as Honda cars typically have decent engine performance but expectation should moderated and not be to expect this car to perform in a drag race.

Would have been nice to be in the new S-Cross this morning. The rain was so heavy that it was one of the few times I would have wished for AWD in S'pore. Plus the higher ride height would have been safer for driving through the 'ponding' at Newton during the school run. That glass roof would have been nice to see the falling rain too!

Coming from a Jazz, the first thing that hits you is the size n height of the Vezel.

Besides the new features, the cabin has a much more premium feel to it.

Sound insulation is better than the jazz but err hem, dun expect too much.

Although the ride height is higher, the cabin height is actually lower. i.e. there is less headroom..

Acceleration is smooth, without the rubberband effect of the jazz's CVT.

    Steering is light.

    You will love it [thumbsup]

Thanks so much for sharing on your vezel! I'm driving a nissan march now n very keen to change to vezel soon. But i got a bit worried by your comments about its a hard ride / not a comfort drive, road noise etc because we need to ferry our 2 kids (1 yr and 3 yrs old) around in it everyday. I love the style, the boot space, the height. But now dreading the thought of having to go for a boringboringboring nissan sylphy instead which should be more comfy :-( would you share your thoughts? What is your opinion on whether to buy from PI? I'm wondering whether to wait for AD to sell. The PI said AD would bring in in jun 2015 but will be made in Thailand. What do you think? I'm a bit scared of buying from PI, never tried before.

haha, if only this was Qoo10.

when i googled around for honda vezel news, it seems like it is meant to be released globally. the US version is coming out end of the year (just that they are renaming it to HR-V) and the UK and australia version 2015 (and they are still deciding whether to rename it for these markets). then indonesia just announced they will be having it soon. so i think it should be a matter of time before it comes to singapore. just whether it's called Vezel or not.

Would it be better for repairs n parts if the model is more common? I was worried that this car too new n if any issue might be hard to get parts or what..

I am also interested in the car. Need to replace my matrix which is up in Feb 2015. Tried the Honda city but don't like the feel of sedan car after used to driving a high car :)

A bit hesitant to buy from PI. Will there be warranty? How about servicing? Any good PI to recommend?

My current ridewas bought from PI, warranty same same like AD. Had been servicing my ride thru their appointed SC until now, no problem. But for repairs or changing of parts, I will look out for other SC to compare price.

Checked out one of the PI in Turf City over the weekend. They tie up with Hitachi Capital (ex Jun Taiyo as they were bought over by Hitachi Capital) and Optima Werks. Read the review of Optima Werks and seems not bad. Not sure about Jun Taiyo.

Any advise if should buy with or without guaranteed bid? Everyone is speculating COE is coming down but then only gahmen knows :) Thinking of buying during the Hungry Ghost month since no pantang :)

Was at Ubi today. Looked at the Vezel. Quite nice exterior. Boot space very adequate.

BUT!!! Driver's seat a bit tight. Very basic console & have any of you guys noticed the size of the accelerator & brake pedal? They designed this car for hobbits ah? Its really puny leh. Thought this car would befit a lady driver.

Subaru XV seems to be the most direct competitor to the Vezel in terms of function and size. Although you'd expect it to be more thirsty, slower due to AWD but have better road holding if you're the enthusiastic sort of driver.

for me the car looks good and I have not problem driving a CVT cause currenty car also CVT with the exception that Honda can do better by adding more interior feature. A bluetooth interface on the steering wheel for answering call, cruise control button and a rear air duct will do just fine.

    Mine is the 1.5X model.

    Bluetooth controls:

    - Only on the head unit (steering wheel can be done via 3rd party?)

    Cruise control:

    - Available on 1.5 X & S. Not available on G

    Rear Air Duct:

    - Not available, but there 2 air outlets beneath the front seats (considered?)

    - so far no complaints from rear passengers, get compliments instead, perhaps due to the fact that its new?

Additional Features on X compared to G:

    LED headlights

    Cruise Control

Chrome trimming on air duct and handles

Magic Seats [thumbsup]. Adds a lot more versatility to the ride, creates space when you need it.

Mahjong table, 26" mountain bike etc are just some of the things that i threw into my ex-Jazz.

Bro Seankwa could be the lucky one.

Cos PI was saying the Vezel are still sitting in either the showroom or yard and canoot be release yet as LTA waiting to verify the horsepower output.

If you notice there are different horsepower in different sites from 129, 130, 132 ....... And just happened that the cut off between Cat A & Cat B is 130.

Now is kind of confusing for everyone.

No lah. What the car maker quoted is 132PS. PS=98.6% of bhp. That makes it approx. 130bhp.

Let's say if LTA categorised it as Cat B. Might as well bring in the Hybrid version.

Honda first did this dct thingy on their big bike VFR 1200.Application on 175hp.

They are now introducing this to their mid capacity bikes. So far didnt here any kpkb, maybe too recent to tell. I also never go dig as I have no intention to get a bike w DCT.

Thought i read somewhere its dry clutch ... Hmm found it.https://www.hondaran...pid=993&lang=en

" For efficiency, the structure of a manual transmission capable of high transmission efficiency is used as the base and its efficiency enhanced by using an electric actuator and dry clutch. "

Stick to cvt for lesser worries - 3 recalls for the dct gearbox since 2013. At least they seemed rather prompt rather than some other brand with 7 speed dry clutch :p
