I think they give it a masculine look. Go with your like and you will be fine

I saw your car with the colored rims that inspire me.... else i go with traditional black and silver.

2 priorities for me is simple design and light for rims.

Just want to check with the Qashqai owners here about the braking feeling on their car.

For me, there seems to be quite a lot of free play in the brake pedal. The first one third of the pedals stroke does nothing, and the brakes only "bite " upon pressing more.

Is this feeling normal? During the first 1k servicing I highlighted this issue, and they rebled the brakes and the braking feeling was much firmer and better. But now it is very spongy again.

Same here. Especially at a higher speed on the expressway then I need to do some hard braking, the first 1/4 of the braking usually result in very little effect. Have to depress more and more until it 'bites'.

    actually guys.

do most of you get the 2.0L QQ or the 1.2T?

worth going for the adventure series? just the speaker and some body kit nia right?

i can't really see the difference

If you got the mean then get 2.0, really powerful even you have heavy load and 5 people. The subwoofer i request for free. Then to me adventure series only add on few plating for $3000, not worth.

    hmm.

    thought about that.

for 2L range. i would find the X Trail and Harrier much more attractive somehow.

but the 1.2Turbo QQ is alot more value for money compared to its peers like QQ and XV.

Actually i also got compare xtrail harrier and forester xt.

Firstly, the same feature from harrier i think cost another 20k so its from PL.

Then for xtrail it does sway me abit becos of the auto tailgate and rear aircon, the deciding factors are the moonroof and the rear seat is not as comfortable as qq, thou both equally upright. If you have family go for x trail. But if you are 20+ like me, qq sure feel younger.

Forester XT has all the feature only con is the FC. But i really dont mind driving it too. I only worry resale value..

One more car you can consider if you dun need crossover or suv. Nissan Sylphy signature (brown looks grand on it). This car is a luxury for your rear passengers compare to the rest. You go the showroom and try, can fall asleep.

Agree that you can find rims but they are mostly TWN rims.... for original rims, most shops cater for conti cars for those design I like.

Anyway still got a few more places to look for new shoes... will update once I get the knocking sound sorted today. BTW, what rims had you change to?

Nego for max cash discount first. This is more important, then the standard items will be free mats, front cam, windows film.
Additional items some bro have is rear cam (not reserve cam, reserve cam is standard) and auto fold mirrors. Auto fold mirror listed price is $85 if you install at TC after getting your car.
I also had free servicing till 50k but that promotion is from TC and ended already.

$5000 dropped over the 9k drop from COE.

No point for them to drop 9k cos everybody may end up needing to top up as COE will very likely rebound in the next bidding

The fat sidewall does not go well with the rim design. Smaller profile tyres look better but you would need to upsize the rims.

    Bro,

the purpose for keeping 17" tyre is for comfort ride. I was in 19 before in other ride, it was really bumpy and also the rubber cannot last more than 30K. Another reason is the set up of Qashqai is more in Conti, therefore the suspension is already harder than normal Jap car. 19 is sure look good, but not for me, I dun give up the comfort, so just keep it at 17 [thumbsup]

18inch already bad enough and 19inch would be disastrous for the ride quality unless aesthetics is the prime concern and not ride quality. I was actually intending to downsize from 18inch original tyres on my SUV to 17inch but could not find anything nice so left it as 18inch but keeping the tyre pressure below average totry reduce the bumpiness.

Need to get it checked out to see if there is air in the system or a leakage. Because it was rebled during 1k servicing and it felt good with firm pressure, but now after another 800km the free play comes back again.

No worries, I edit the initial post too.... I am not those that afford biz class for holidays. Lol.

So what do u think, too dark? I actually prefer it be gun metal but only got the darkens ones. Really thinking about it bec these rims are light though not as light as Legerra HLT, too bad the OZ offset like cannot... Si bei sianz. Ask for new shipment for QQ offset, no reply for a week so they go go f themselves.

Really limited choice in SGP for good rims unless u indent. Initially thought go with cheaper Inforged but make a calculation that I use cheaper tires for a while but get good rims is the best value u get if this car might stick around beyond 5 yrs.

5x114.3 not easy to get good rims.

Just sharing what I had been researching....

If you are looking at Oz leggara, Leong Seng carries them, they actually order from YHI 5114.3 should have stock. But no gun metal.. silver

Do it diplomatically and you will be fine. Dont ask if you feel not good about it. Camera may only be front not including rear .

    Need advice

My FL & FR rims constantly have blackish dust. Is it from the brake pads? Good/Bad??

RL & RR don't seem to have this issue.

Good. Means brakes are working the way it shld be. When braking, front brakes are being utilise more than the rear. That why front disc are also bigger than rear.

Has been driving for a week, the rattling sound u guys have been mentioning happened to me today. It's seems coming from passenger side but on and off and pretty soft.... So far 1/4 tank used, 251km. Can reach 600+ by end of this tank. Fed this new ride V power for its first drinks. See how well it can go :))

U pamper it with V power now, next time it will throw tantrum if u give 95...

    I booked a 1.2
Was offered Car mat, folding mirror (i think useful to confirm door lock), front n rear cam, visor, window film.

Other thing offered is the front sensor but i think no point.

Woofer is installed under front passenger seat. Affects rear passenger feet placing.

Ask for more cash discount like what they say eariler and also try for higher trade in value of ur old car if u have..

For car mat, confirm with your SE that it is the one that the TC workshop sell type and not any cheap car mat that you can find on ToaBao - best if can write down in the agreement the brand and model that you see in the TC workshop car mat. Some of the low qualitty TaoBao mats are flammable (you can tear a small piece and burn with lighter and see it having its own flame). Proper quality car mats should not be flammable (you try on the expensive real 3M Nomad car mat - will not burn; I think the mat TC sells at its workshop reception is also quite ok as that one also not cheap but at least cheaper than 3M).

So i should stick to option 2?

btw, i was told by the agent that turbo kicks in at 2500, did she told me the wrong info?

I can't decide for you bro. Option 2 will make me and my car happy, at least this is what I feel for myself.

2500rpm? your agent re-tunethe car issit?

The exact is 1750rpm as stated under max torque in the technical specs.

    http://www.nissan.co...ecs/QASHQAI.pdf

If you drive into a quiet MSCP, revved rpm up to 2k and release quickly, you can actually hear the blow-off valve whistle clearly.

If don't release fast enough, the engine noise may muff out the tiny whistle.

Non fire retardant will continue to burn by itselfafter you remove lighter.

I think the spare tyres are really temporary. Just enough for you to change out and get you to the tyre shop. On the spare tyre, not supposed to drive fast. <60kmh maybe. It's way smaller than the original wheel. Not just the rim size but the overall rolling diameter too.

No need spare tire lah.... Carry extra weight when u can inflate the tires with mobile tire pumps and sealants. If really scare puncture, use run flats though they are ex and more stiff. But if the tire puncture due to rupture, sealant also no use.

Bro u use sealant after that tyre can throw away.
Anyway last time I heard spare tire can reduce a rear end crash impact. Don't know how true.
Our 1.2 no spare tyre but they put in a dummy high density foam with some compartment for storage. Not sure if it can offer some crash aborbent impact but if we remove the dummy foam we have plenty of space as well.

So what was the problem with you knocking sound and how they rectify it?

Yes, the sealant tahan till u find a tire shop. As for the rear tire as cash impact, I think it should not have that great influence since The impact bar takes all the stress. BMW also got no spare tire since E60.... 10 yrs Liao. If u look at all RWD sport car, where to put spare tire... Must carry on top ah.

Hi, just ordered a QQ now waiting for stock to arrive. I have been browsing through this thread and found that previously there was a group that did a MO for accessories from the UK, will you guys be running another one of these MO's anytime soon?

For original accessories from UK you can get from here (price is ok).

    http://stores.ebay.c...d=p4634.c0.m322

For China made accessories you can search here (price only 1/5 of original but quality is so so only).

    https://s.taobao.com...req=2016???????

Also can find in AliExpress, most items made in China, but the price is 3-4 times more expensive than you get direct from China. Those whose dun know or cannot buy direct from China, AliExpress is one of the source:

    Hi everyone,

    I'm driving a 6 weeks old QQ 2.0. So far so good. This forum is fantastic with valuable resource and information. I have two questions;

I was wondering if TC offers Nissan's Around View Monitor (AVM) for Qashqai as an after-factory installation locally, or have anyone here installed an aftermarket equivalent?

Have anyone attempted to convert the seat-heaters to any other functions that would be useful for our climate? For example, replacing the heating coils with, say.. four "CPU" fans. I know it sound crazy, but just trying.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks... Found the rim I want... Waiting for TC to solve my knocking sound. Hiaz...

Btw, 235 wide tires should fit a 8.5J rims right....

Bro u got engine or suspension knocking sound?

    I booked a 1.2
Was offered Car mat, folding mirror (i think useful to confirm door lock), front n rear cam, visor, window film.

Other thing offered is the front sensor but i think no point.

Woofer is installed under front passenger seat. Affects rear passenger feet placing.

Ask for more cash discount like what they say eariler and also try for higher trade in value of ur old car if u have..

Mine is also under the front passenger. It will not really affect the rear passenger as the woofer is small and fits nicely under the seat. You can even move it around as TC uses velcro to stick the subwoofer to the carpet. I shifted the subwoofer controller between my steering wheel and start stop button as it is obstructing my left leg as I always open my leg big big.

Bro u got engine or suspension knocking sound?

They didn't tell me exactly the problem but I believe it is suspension. Last time I mode suspension also Kenna same sound, so I think the spring is not sitting properly or bushing rubbing something. Now it's gone and pray it stays this way.

The center console still got rattle running rough roads, might just send to expert radio shop to solve it.

Last call for the 19". Only looking at 17" with cash top up of $500. If no takers then I'll trade in on next week :)

Bro I let u know tomorrow.... Let me try out the rims I like to see if I go with it else I take it off u. Save me few grand as well...lol

Bro, yours is 1.2 or 2.0? For 2.0, electric seat below has no space for woofer I reckon.

Anybody agree with what this journalist wrote about why renewing COE is a better option now than buying a new car?

So you can currently get the 225/ 45 R19 Y falken tyres for the rims from stamfordtyres at $350 per piece (why the hell they supply speed rating y- way above what i will ever need). If continental they quoted the sky

I might go with 18" 8.5J so I need 235 50 18.... Got many tires and not ex. falken ones are like 180 ea.

If you use till 10 years , the number of tyre changeouts is 4 times on total (till 200K km). Hence the math on benefit vs costs can be easily derived, plus I assume you can get some decent trade in for your existing as well

Love your train of thought. If tc or equivalent could offer this as a mid-life refit , I will be keen

imo, Very dry logic . Basically from his cost perspective of need vs want . So very one dimensional analysis (which is fine don't get me wrong). But to me life is too short - how many more cars he is going to get after this ? In fact this is probably the very last car he will ever drive given his age. He will never ever buy another. If he does before the end of the new coe then it means that he had a rethink and made a u turn . Certainly there is something about the excitement of getting a new car which one certainly cannot get from just renewing a Coe unless it is a Ferrari. And the fact is most people don't renew Coe says something that his choice is one of a small minority. To each his/ her own. Somehow I wouldn't feel my money is worth spending just renewing a piece of paper.

    there is no paper.

It is just a few bytes worth of data in a server somewhere.

Noticed a couple of posts on Vezel forum on 8th Jan yesterday complaining about rattling noise from the dashboard. Sounds familiar . They can get them sorted at TC who has a good grasp of fixing them

Yo, dunno if anyone facing this issue. Been driving for a month plus. Now, when I drive, I hear a 'tak tak tak' sound coming from the dashboard area. I hear this when going over rough areas, such as up ramp in multi storey carpark, road that got dug up and resurfaced. I've tapped and whacked the whole dashboard area, IU and car camera. Sound still there.
    Help! Driving me nuts...

So this is from another - Mazda 3 forum today -complaining about rattling noise. What else is new

My 1000km servicing done today at Bukit timah TC. QQ2.0 report.

    1) After off engine got a "poom" sound - Solved

2)Front left sensor alarm goes off during drive, no obstacles, different from usual sound many times (long beep) - was told solved but come back twice during drive along highway, have to off it and on again

    3) Radio sound not clear, some disturbing noise in background. - again not solved

    4) Air con changing to higher temperature turn internal air circulation to air flow from outside - Solved at least up to 24C, good enough

    5) HU monitor go blank during start car, happened twice. - will monitor few more days see if it comes back

Overall, the front sensor alarm is the major problem, any tips?

Ask tc to change the left front sensor since it is under warranty - believe it is a self calibrated proximity type but whose sensitivity cannot be adjusted.
