Bro, eco mode once turned on, it controls throttle opening, flooring of accelerator will have limited fuel supply, thereby saving fuel.
There will be no more horses when this is on.
Don't expect to have power at this mode.

The numbers in the panel are very subjective.
Take it with a pinch of salt.

Actually K&N filter allows more oil and dirt engine than stock filter.. and turbo needs the air filtration to be good to keep it clean. Most turbo failures due to insufficient dirt filtration.

Advice to keep to stock and maybe consider changing to light weight rims, branded ones that weighs 6-7kg for 17", and 8-9kg for 18". It'll be more useful for pickup and FC.

Interesting, will try tomorrow to off it. Do you know how does the car assist function of the engine brake works? Is it the car will apply automatically the brakes to give the engine brake feel or the car will put at higher rpm for the engine rpm to drop?

its more like when you lift your foot off the gas pedal.. you won't feel the resistance aka engine brake.. try it at low speed first bro.. like i mentioned the braking distance will be different. . its somehow similar to manual gear car when you put it to neutral while cruising.

Ahhhh! So that's why my car drops so fast in speed the moment I take my feet off the accelerator. Cannot cruise at all.

I disabled it and am now happily cruising. Save petrol gao gao.

    Thanks for the tip!

    Dear QQ Owners,

Would 2.0L owners be ableto advise FC ?

Base onspec, its abt 14.5Km/Lbut I really doubt it.. would 12Km/L be achieveable for 50/50 highway & urban travel ?

Wow.. that's pretty way below spec. Guess a full tank would probably cover < 600km. It's really a choice between power and moon roof vs low road tax and FC ...

I am driving the 2.0 and my average for the past 2 weeks is 11.8 km/l , best is 17.6 km/l?so it is very much route driven (plus passengers in the car or otherwise and assuming the gauges are accurate)

What is the reason that one will choose the 2.0 qashqai over the Xtrail?

Quite a lot of views expressed on this in earlier parts of this forum.
Xtrail has plenty of good points, MIJ, all round view cameras, all electric seats, option for 7 seats, ventilation for back passengers etc etc.
for me the show stopper in xtrail was its sunroof-made dislikable because of its dividing bar. With QQ it's magnificent sky roof alone settled the choice in my case.

If u cruising at 1500rpm and let go ur foot, it will drop a gear and rpm moves slightly higher. If off engine brake maybe brake pads wear out faster? Gain some lose some in my opinion.

True on the dirt and oil using K&N filter.
My previous needs to clean the throttle body regularly due to "sticky" accelerator at cold start.
And every time when I clean the filter, car feels perky for a few trips due to higher airflow, after that the "smart alec" ecu will learn to control and restrict the airflow accordingly to its airflow/fuel ratio. However it still can revved to 5krpm more easily than original filter.
For those already on K&N, keep and use your original filter when cleaning the K&N as it needs to properly dried before re-oiling.
Those havent install can weight the pros & cons yourself buy I suggest change only after run-in period as the extra dirt won't do any good to the engine.

Ok thanks all! Tried today and it seems like need to apply brakes more frequently. Car will roll further when going straight. Initially, I thought the engine brake will only be effective when turning.

Maybe off the traction control - the one with the skid marks left of eco switch.
My SE told me can off if dont do hard cornering and on back during rainy days or sandy road.
To add on, the traction control are using the 4 brakes individually to control. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Why would u turn off ESP on a normal road? You turn It off if u are stuck in mud or ice...
ESP only activate during cornering if you under steer.

Just took the car out and I drove it harder this time... I must say I am pretty impressed with the engine and the cvt working together seamlessly. The algorithm was spot on and the gears never goes missing even I throw the car in tight corners or even going at a higher speed in bends which I thought the car might under steer.

Overall the electronics I think were program very well and the engine worked well throughout the power band. I think the only downside is that the engine will lose its breath once the car hit 100km/hr.

As for the brakes, the travel is a bit too far to get the grip but got to get use to it. Despite some minor flaws, I think it's a good package Nissan had put together. It would be a lot more fun to drive if it is a 1.6T.... But for its current form, i think it is quite hard to beat especially the handling in this price range of compact SUV.

BTW, I put the steering to sports mode and tire pressure 240KPA all round.... If you inflate to 300kpa, it is too light on the steering and too stiff to get any feedback.

Overall I think the car is program on the safe side for driving making full use of engine brakes and the cvt to maintain a compose drive despite some nasty conditions. As for rattling.... It was gone after I reduce the tire pressure...lol.. I am glad my wife did not choose the 2 series tourer or the Vezel (Honda fit on stilt). Save me some money on the beemer while getting car from AD has its advantage.

Thanks for the info. Just want to check with you regarding a few things.

    1) Difference in steering feel between normal and sport mode?
    2) Recommended tire pressure for comfort? I'm currently using 36PSI and it feels harsh, while at 33 PSI the tires look a bit flat.

Going to book my QQ pretty soon and now deciding which colour to get. My wife likes the night shade as she said it's a unique colour that looks black most of the time and purple when under strong light. The SE at Tan Chong told me it's very dark maroon so I am confused.

I kinda like the bronze colour but not sure what colour it is exactly. Is it brown?

Apologies if my questions sounded weird as I have slight colour blind

Point 1: actually there is slightly more weighted on the steering compare to normal. The turning is more accurate compare to Day 1 when I collected the car which was super light.... now it feels much better.

Point 2: I think you might try my setting at 34 PSI, definitely takes bump better and contribute to more accurate steering input. Then again 33 and 34 PSI is not much diff, you might want to set it at 34 psi and live with it for a while to see if you like it.

My wife also feels there is a a difference driving the car after I change to these settings..... my other car also uses 34 PSI all round and I find it the best compromise for comfort, noise and handling. Give it a try... its free lol.

Some additional info on the PSI for Qashqai..... 30PSI for the rear is really soft. Also trying to remember 2 tire pressure for front and back is too lecheh....

The night shade looks good at night but might turn out to be a Barney during day time. You can see the actual color at Bukit Timah, they have one for test drive. It is dark purple not maroon.

The bronze is like you said bronze.... I think brilliant pearl white looks best on the car imo. However since this is your car, you should pick the color you like best in your own eyes.... dont bother about what other thinks. If you like the bronze, then get bronze.

10 daysafter collecting my car, with 1200+km in mileage travelledbefore sending for my 1000km servicing in Ubi on Tuesday yesterday, things to be done:

    - Was told thatUbi TC will usemineral engine oil for 1k km for servicing

    - Insert my own32Gb (was given8Gb)card in Dabonda Legend few days agobut the card was stuck inside so got their TCadviser to remove

    - mentioned to adviser that sometimes (2or 3 out of 10 times)that when disables the electronic"hand"brake and shift to D gear, the car is unable to move off fastor feels like the brakes are holding back the car from moving off or feels like gear does not engage. The adviser told me that not all Qashqai drivers are affected but this problem is known due to Idling Stop System (ISS) software bug so advise me not to use ISS for the time being until Nissan Japan solved the software bug

    - boot door side gaps were different, left side gap was bigger than the right side

    - driver sidewindscreen tinted film had bubbles

    - car wash after servicing

Things done or notdoneon 1k km servicing on Tuesday from 9am to 1pm:

    - engine oil changed

    - 32Gb card took out and insert into DVR properly

    - boot door gap not done unless I left my car the whole day, arrange to do it the next day (Wed) which is today

    - tinted film guy was not there, arrange to do it the next day (Wed) which is today

    - after car wash butdid not clean and drythe windows wellwith water stains/marks left

Feedback from their adviser after servicing: my car seems to be more responsive and better pickup

    Things doneon Wed (today)from 9am to 1pm:

    - bubbles removed from tinted film but driver side a bit misty view

    - boot left side gap reduced but the gapstill slightly bigger than the right

At the end of the day, at least my issues have been resolved but not perfect so I can't complain much... lol

    Congrats. So payment first.
They then do need to register and get the number plate (unless you have one).
You can expect to get the car within 3-4 days from the date of registration, fastest probably two days ( they need to prepare the car, attach plate , IU , Polish, final checkout) and provided you don't have any adders (eg install cameras etc )

They only gave me in-car camera & solar film, will try for the auto fold mirror when making payment tomorrow...

Intend to go for PPS once I gotten my car, anyone got good recommendation (cheap & good)?

You are gonna be very happy, and completely flushed with feelings of excitement and elation this whole week leading to the collection of your car.

Money do buy happiness - Whoever says otherwise should try buying a new car that they like.

Right PPS, I have tried Opti-Shine, reasonable price, and their warranty provided me the assurance to get the coating redone foc should it fails within the coverage period

So yours is not yet in Singapore, possibly because of the colour choice. But potentially if there are improvement tweaks, you get the benefits with having a later model. They won't ask you for final payment until they have the car landed in spore and more readied for delivery and so that the actual date of car collection by you is within a few days of its date of coe registration.
On PPS not tried OPG. (I suspect) you will have to do your research to go with this or that company and make up your own mind.

5 coats? Wahsay... Will last you till scrap? Anyway, my BMW, never go polishing since collection and still looking good. Not really sure should I part $500 for this on QQ.... Since it will be sheltered parking throughout its life, no sun and no rain....

Btw, I had upgraded my mirrors to original auto dimming mirrors and the optics are way better than the crappy normal ones. The funny thing is that it hardly dim bec of the darken solar film and elevated height which means you hardly get glare from cars. Cost me 170 bucks.... Incl shipping and installation just for info.

Yup, Intent on using this till 10 years . Mind you I work in industrial area so air quality can be bad and I reckon the extra layers will help. Bmw paint is very good, and Nissan's cannot compare. Parking under shade will help.
My civic paint was totally knackered at the end of her life and my colleague's altis was showing paint issue just 2 months new.
With the pps, I find it very easy to clean with just water and wipe. The spend on the pps is saved from not using the bangala washer and I rather not they using their dirty cloths on new surfaces?what are the other mirrors , because rear view auto dim comes with the 2.0l and in my case it comes and stays on very frequently in the night.

3M insulation works like damping material to prevent sound waves from boucing all over especially against vibrating metal of door that create more distortion. Sound will be clearer, louder without more volume cos you hear less distortion wtc

    Hi Guys! [laugh]

Collecting my QQ tomorrow and going for PPS at Revo.

I was contemplating on the following(Vezel and Tuscon) before deciding on Qashqai 2.0. est drove the Vezel, though found the engine responsive but cabin is a little cramped. As for Tuscon I think they have priced themselves out of the competition hence didn't take it for a spin.

Deciding factors for me as follows:-

    1) Moonroof!

    2) Secured handling and comfortable ride

    3) Striking bold design

    4) Cabin is refined and spacious

    5) Large boot space for my son's stroller!

    6) Price point

    7) UK made

    bros,

    another stupid question from me:

    1. engine still in running in, this means no revving, what does revving actually mean? i only know from the other bros that i shouldnt do sudden acceleration, so sudden acceleration is revving?

    2. how long for running in period? 1000 km?

    3. engine in running in, how should i accelerate? i've seen other qq accelerating like normal, and the plates r very recent too. so am I doing it wrong? i stepped on the gas slowly, unlike the normal way, is this correct?

    1. Revving Yes, sudden acceleration, and keeping it in high rpm. Avoid high rpm.
2.runnin g in period: manual has it as 1600 km.
    3. Just drive slowly and I would keep to the left lane and not drive more than 80 km/ hr , don't engage manual shift during this period, avoid starting off on steep slope , watch your rpm

How many mirrors are there ( I have only 1 with this feature- cabin rear view mirror).
There is no specific number on engine rpm in relation to running in in the manual, but you want to be gentle with it during this period and avoid harshness to better ensure engine and engine train longevity.

Owners with tick tick or rattling sound can get TC to insulate/wrap/cable tie wiring behind glove compartment. However, if you still find noise, there are more insulation work that can be done on the glove compartment being shared by bros in the qashqai whatapps group who enjoys rattlefree glove compartment. For noise for seats, check zip of leather seat and spray silicon oil or apply leather wax on leather where it may be rubbing against the plastics.

    So troublesome

Before collection of my QQ 2.0, I still have doubt on my decision, was still considering xtrail, forester XT,Sylphy... now third day on the road, I can confidently say I NV regret my choice. Seat feel very comfortable for me, even the very upright rear seat feel perfect. My mum fell asleep at the back as soon as I hit the highway. The black seat leather is very solid.

Only problem is I can't find the original car boot tray...

its more like when you lift your foot off the gas pedal.. you won't feel the resistance aka engine brake.. try it at low speed first bro.. like i mentioned the braking distance will be different. . its somehow similar to manual gear car when you put it to neutral while cruising.

good that you share this tip. For 1.2T owners, it is a world of difference pulling off from stop. It will be silky smooth and responsive. If you checked the engine braking, you will experience stiff artificial resistance despite flooring the accelerator. Not to mention a jerkier ride.

There seems to be a flaw in the software algorithm for this cvt engine braking feature.

Wow... 1.2QQ is going at 110988... The lady is getting slimer...

If you can spare an extra $900 a year on annual depreciation, go for the Qashqai 2.0, instead of the 1.2. The 2.0 costs $12K more, but because the OMV is higher, the actual difference in cost is only $9,000.

The 1.2 is great if you are not fussy about power as the turbo Renault sourced engine is for low end torque below 60km/h. Above that, there's a little struggle in overtaking at highway speed.

The 2.0 engine is from Nissan and you will appreciate the raw power from the N.A. engine.

I test drove both 1.2 and 2.0 back to back and I totally agree with your suggestion.
Problem is that it's not only $900 extra a year. Petrol , insurance and road tax cost more and even the 19" tyres will cost more.
All in maybe 2-3k more a year?
