    guys.. some new finding...

eco or normal mode. . during 3rd-4th gear ..( i know cvt no gear) the power seems cut for a split sec.. just like you let go of accelerator when infact foot still stepping on it.,. doesn't happen during other gear. not a once a while issue.

    anyone else experience this?

Our cvt is programed to simulate 7 speed/gears ratios. So far mine has been quite smooth. Care to elaborate more on the spilt sec power cut? At what rpm etc and did you try DS mode as well?

Ask tc to change the left front sensor since it is under warranty - believe it is a self calibrated proximity type but whose sensitivity cannot be adjusted.

Eric master good suggestion. I better get them to change it. Seem like only me got this problem.. free thing nv good...

Haha my old honda jazz even longer...from front roof until halfway the end but never encounter distortion except certain part inside kpe or near airbase. Now new car radio distortion seems very frequent when driving, very disturbing too.
I was wondering if it is the HU or lousy internal antenna wiring or maybe both... if any bro able to solve this please share.

Got new front and rear bodykit for our qashqai from Aliexpress. Just sharing but I don't really like it. The styling is too bold. Still prefer the mild styling of the twin exhaust and rear lower lip posted by Voxy.

Which workshop u get this done?

For the leg room & LED lights: Big Boyz Garage 31 Woodlands Close #02-14. Woodlands Horizon S(737855).

Try to negotiate hard, they quoted me initially $180 for leg room & $60 for LED lights

Bro u got engine or suspension knocking sound?

Mine is also under the front passenger. It will not really affect the rear passenger as the woofer is small and fits nicely under the seat. You can even move it around as TC uses velcro to stick the subwoofer to the carpet. I shifted the subwoofer controller between my steering wheel and start stop button as it is obstructing my left leg as I always open my leg big big.

Nice. Tc deliberately did not bring in all the features for QQ vx xtrail (eg auto tailgate, all round camera, all electric seats) so that there is a clearer contrast between the 2 . Otherwise they would have compete very closely with rather than comfplement each other at tc cost.
Xtrail is beautiful but QQ 1.2t is unbelievable great -It represents enormous value for money and I would have gone for it even today. But the single one decisive feature that endears QQ 2.0 to me is its breathtakingly outrageously stunning massive sunroof - and it still steals everyone of my family's heart . Everyone just want to sit at the back of the car and take in the view .

Totally agree with you. Is simply stunning. That's why l book the 2.0L.. It really make the car very different when sitting inside. On the other hand, may not be suitable to open during the day but who cares!! Lol. Another trade off is the higher operating cost.

Am surprised this problem is still there. Got my car last June and even complained to LTA as it is indeed a safety issue.
Their explanation is that the Head unit is connected to the braking system causing a conflict, resulting in the power loss. Looks like TC has not solved the problem then.

    Good luck to future drivers/buyers.

You sound like either your problem is solved or you sold the car...so which is which ?

Me too very captivated by the moon roof but the price difference went from 12k to now 18k ... Makes it a bit harder to justify getting the 2.0

    Hahaha... sounds familiar.
Imagine the opposite if driving Note with 3 rear big size passengers. If it's in laws relatives then driver LL also.

more like a engine break jerk when you are still stepping on the gas
the car will feel a slight loss of power like its shifting gear ( that moment when you release clutch without accelarate).. during 3rd gear.
    rpm usually around 2-2.5

it happened all the time. other gear was smooth without any jerk

nope didn't do DS mode yet, set eco or normal. engine brake unchecked.

Bring to TC let them have a look.

Oh you bought . Maybe to wait for the COE drop for those who can , who knows where the floor will be , how it plays out.
Nothing wrong going with 1.2T, when you contrast against rest of the other good choices in this similar price range. If compare for like for like (Apples to apples) the likes, the looks, the features, the price, the peace of mind in the long term ( where it matters ) , it remains an outstanding value proposition then and especially now .

How could any male driver ask gf or wife to sit at the rear? the relatives or friends should be squeezing behind. If parents they can take the middle row.

First I would ask her to choose the car and to consider imagining that she may have to sit at the back. Secure that agreement from her before the purchase.
If she can drive, you could ask her to drive it. SacrifAce yourself now and save yourself from having that bombing incident later.

Depends what relatives...., my wife sacrifice for the old folks like our parents to sit in front. Other than them, no compromise.

HU connection to the braking system ? Why ?
HU for display and control of audio, navigation, etc. Isn't it?
    How is "power loss" ?
Suppose that's the reason as mentioned, then a simple solution would just disconnect it. Isn't it ?
Since the car is still hot selling (in just 5 mins while waiting for someone at a car park last evening, I saw 3 QQS), I suppose there's no safety issue. Performance issue perhaps.
    Hi,
BTW, did lta reply you to your complain on the safety issue ?

Connected to braking system for DVD function; only can play when car is stationary - and HU is retro-fitted with china set.
LTA did add pressure to TC as I managed to contact the head of safety. LTA was informed so that if really any accident happened, both parties will be held partially responsible rather than blaming that my driving is lousy.

With the whole family looking at sunroof under cover in showroom, of course it will win them over.

Once you get the car you will only end up admiring it at night or when it's raining. Sunroof is redundant in singapore's weather unless you are a sun deprived ang mo.

I am saying from experience . Sunroof should never be a factor in buying a car. In fact for my next replacement I would be looking for something without a sunroof. Even after installing solar film on sunroof, you can feel the heat when you place your hand on it. Your air con ends up working harder .

what do you do when you take a bus tour to view the city? You choose the double decker that has an open top and sit there to have a unobstructed view of the sceneries and buildings. The QQ with its massive single piece moonroof ( no frame!) is just like that..Btw no two sunroofs are the same .. My son tells me that it is like he is having a holiday every time the moonroof is uncovered. I find the heat to be not a problem because I think the air between the moonroof and its insulted ceiling also acts as another effective insulation layer ( in fact my wife was very adamant not to have qq2.0 for this reason which in reality now has proved unwarranted to her ) . The view when you go around tall buildings, city, HDB estates is tremendous.. When you go down some of these very tall trees areas in loyang is fabulous .. When you drive down orchard room during Christmas light up time , china town with its decos during Chinese New Year period, serangoon road during deepavali .. You will find those in the backseats are awestruck. And that is very satisfying .

As I said before the perfect car has never been built and will never be built.
Take a look at the comments taken from Toyota forum here for a new Camry and the maxim holds true whether it is to a Toyota, Honda, Mazda, etc, whether is an altis and so on..
The grass is greener on the other side, the moon is rounder on the other side, the sun is brighter on the other side, the car is better on the other brands...take your pick ..

I collected my new Camry 2.5 last week. Found that the Camry was not comfortable to drive at all. I could feel a bump whenever the car goes over a slightly uneven surface. Sometimes, the car even jolts when the uneven surface is more pronounced. It is not an exaggeration if I have to describe my ride as feeling a bump or a jolt on average every ten seconds or so on a road or highway, going at no more than 40 to 70km/h. I drove on the KPE, PIE, CTE, AYE and the results are more or less the same, the bumps are always there.

I drove a old Camry (2002-2005 model) for 3 years, hence, I was able to make a comparison, and felt that a Camry that is worth its salt should not exhibit such performance.

So after 2 days of driving after collecting my new Camry, I went to BM in Ubi for a checkup. The service personnel checked the tire pressure and found it to be 42 psi. The tires was re-pressurised to 33 psi. I drove together with the service personnel as passenger for a test drive afterwards. The bumps are still there. I told him that my old Camry did not exhibit such bumpiness. He replied that the new Camry has a new suspension and thus a comparison between the Old Camry and New Camry cannot be made.

So I continued to drive for a few days. However, the frequency of the bumpiness bugged me. I decided to bring my car down to BM again, but this time to BM in Leng Kee for a 2nd opinion. The service personnel asked me if my tires are pressurized correctly, which I replied yes. He then brought the car for a test drive, while I became the passenger. On the test drive journey, I pointed out to him the bumps as the car went was driven around the Leng Kee area. He pointed that the Camry suspension had been changed to a stiffer one, since the 2012 model was introduced. The 2002-2005 model (the one that I drove previously), and the 2006-2009 model were using the softer shock absorbers, and thus afforded a more comfortable ride. Interestingly, he pointed out that the Lexus ES250 shared the same engine and suspension system as the Camry 2.5.

I asked the service personnel if other Camry (2015 model) users like me had also complained about a bumpy ride, and he replied yes. However, there was nothing BM could do about it, as this is the suspension system that Toyota has put in for the Camry 2.5. Changing to a new one will not resolve the problem. However, he pointed out that this suspension system has its advantages, as it provides more stability for the car while doing fast cornering, which the suspension in the older Camry model does not provide.

My opinion? I would trade in this new suspension for the previous suspension anytime, for the sake of a smoother ride (of course, the new suspension and old suspension are not inter-changeable). I bought the new Camry for two primary reasons: cabin quietness, and a smooth and comfortable ride. The new Camry fulfilled the 1st reason with flying colours - it is definitely quieter than my old Camry. However, it is nowhere as comfortable as my old Camry, and if I may add, it is just way too uncomfortable for my liking.

I got a colleague who bought his 2015 Camry 2.0 a few months ago. I asked whether he encountered the same problem like me. He replied that he was satisfied with his new car and did not notice any bumps. He too was a previous Camry user. To get a fair opinion, I will seek a chance to sit in his car and feel for any difference, and also, for him to sit in my car, and get his feedback.

Will update you guys on this in a later post. If there is indeed a difference after comparing my friend's car with my car, then I think there is something really wrong, and BM should do something to rectify this bumpiness problem.

Any 2015 Camry owners, care to comment? Thank you in advance.

There is no perfect car. Even my friend was complaining to me about his E250 auto fold mirror sometimes cannot fold properly.

Discount is always there regardless of year of manufacturer, it mostly comes directly out of the SE pocket (lesser takings) . The amount you quote is a typical number .
You could try several other SE and get their offers to recheck and satisfy yourself (but don't test drive the car yet, once you do that they will them lock you in with that se).

I'm guessing the "black box" will do its thing to process the 4 channels accordingly. One would only need a free AV input jack at the back of the HU. This one inaliexpress shows the wiring schematics and a black box labelled with the word "Qashqai" to further tempt you. [laugh]

Some of these bird viewcome with DVR. Can consider freeing up the AV used by the existing DVR (if installed) and replace it with the bird view.

Think is Marketing ploy, you read the newspaper and mentally prepared to go with the amount shown or maybe half minded. You come to the showroom, then they throw you a further incentive . Buying a car is very emotional thing and an impulsive one too. Anyway in life you always have a discount in big item purchases so this is no different , just another incentive to sway you. A discount makes you feel you have more power and that it is an even more better value proposition than before you came.

Wonder why they do that ?

Overinflated tyres should mean (I am speculating here)
    1. better fuel consumption - win for owner driver and for TC (customer satisfaction).
    2. Better steering and control - win for owner driver and again TC (CS)
    3. Potentially Lesser chance of wear and tear and gear drive c.f. Under inflated tyre (more friction, more forces transmitted better to gear drive (win for owner driver and win for TC (less warranty claim on gear drive because of this type of effects )
    4. Higher wear on tyre earlier replacement : owner won't know as this takes time . Win for TC because there is a chance you change tyres at their shop particularly as they have difficult to find 19" tyres type
Same is true for BM as TC again speculation

Any bro can advise where can I go, or wat kind of tapes/glue for DIY that I can use to fix my dropping IU?
Hv been going back to TC at least 4 times for the same issue..
The IU from few days to few weeks to few months (after fixing), eventually still drop!!! :a-t2622:
Already lost hope to TC on this dropping IU matter.
    Please help!! [bounce1]

Try calling Vicom or STA from what I understand.
(Try not to park under direct sunlight in the next few days after installation , don't touch it as well. )They should be able to do it. Very unnecessarily poor attention to detail TC - for a simple fix for this tsk tsk tsk. Once is excusable, twice is sloppy but four times is totally unacceptable.

Hi guys. Went to TC over the weekend and SE mentioned there's a promotion, $1000 discount for QQ 1.2 if year of manufacture is 2015. Just wondering why is there a discount? SE mentioned there is no difference in year of manufacture, be it 2015 or 2016.

Some say is a way to protect the tires and car when sitting on ship and car trailer for for long distance when coming to Singapore (perhaps to compensate if in case some slight air leak) but I always thought they only change to the final tyre in Singapore (or maybe nowadays, they always use the trailer so no more driving from port to agent workshop).

In any car, the pressure put in by agents for new cars seem to be way over the recommended pressure.

Your advantages stated above for 1,2,3 are valid but ONLY if the over-pressure is just on the high side of the recommended pressure.

What the agents seem to be doing in terms of new car tyre pressure looks way beyond the recommended pressure and will likely harm the car, make steering and control worse, and cause harshness to the ride.

Harm the car because the tyre no longer do its part in softening any bumps and make the suspension work harder. This also cause harshness.

Control is worse because the car will jump about more and make it harder to control (esp. when the wheels are not touching the ground as much as possible as they should).

imo, Very dry logic . Basically from his cost perspective of need vs want . So very one dimensional analysis (which is fine don't get me wrong). But to me life is too short - how many more cars he is going to get after this ? In fact this is probably the very last car he will ever drive given his age. He will never ever buy another. If he does before the end of the new coe then it means that he had a rethink and made a u turn . Certainly there is something about the excitement of getting a new car which one certainly cannot get from just renewing a Coe unless it is a Ferrari. And the fact is most people don't renew Coe says something that his choice is one of a small minority. To each his/ her own. Somehow I wouldn't feel my money is worth spending just renewing a piece of paper.

Thanks for sharing your insights, Eric. Agree that there are many factors to consider such as driver's age, mileage clocked, car condition, etc before one decides to either renew COE or to buy new/resale car and more often than not, renewing of COE is not an option for the majority of car owners.

Hi, new to this forum. Just booked a 1.2QQ at leng kee yesterday. The SE who attended to me told me that the listed price will increase by 1k from midnight 11Jan onwards. I couldn't verify this but didn't want to risk paying more if I delay my decision. Hence we proceeded to sign.

Got a pearl white and still deciding on the upholstery. Expected delivery end feb.

Anyone has a beige interior to show? At the showroom only saw black and brown interior. I'm considering between beige and black. Black kinda boring and would like to see the beige if it goes well with the black dashboard and wheel. Thanks in advance!

    Good luck .

I heard the brake pad material used in made in UK QQ1.2T is different from the made in Japan QQ2.0.

    Not an expert (disclaimer)
But looks to me more like the braking distribution among front and back not that optimal if back brakes are clean. Is the entire car momentum mostly stopped by the two front brakes ie total force divided by two instead of being divided by four (with the back brakes). If only 2 brakes (instead of 4) are doing most of the job of stopping the vehicle then each of the front is seeing half of the total load instead of a quarter, then you can expect them to experience excessively higher wear resulting in black specks. Can the clearance between front pad and brake discs be increased and the back brakes clearance decreased so that the back brakes carry a more equal weightage relative to the front ones? I would call up a couple of the service centers to talk to them and get a consistent opinion among them and turn the car in for servicing if it is correctable by adjustment .

Eric, you are correct about distribution but all cars depends about 70-80% on the front brakes and hence you end up changing fronts pads 3x more often.
Conti cars have bite and abrupt brakes e.g. Merc, BMW etc. and you will also have the same dust issue.
Like me and some bros, we changed to NiBk front brake pad at sgd95 at Vision Garage to the dust and revert back to more Japanese like peogressive braking. Other bros simply spray the stock rim black or bronze.
    Hope this help.

More like over inflated to cater for shipment and storage time.

    avoid at all cost

Ok for standard servicing but yes, they could not diagnose choked water tubing of screen wiper after 4 weeks from car collection which ubi did so.

Which is the more reliable service centre here then?

Bukit Timah is their best equipped center and training center

Eric, you are correct about distribution but all cars depends about 70-80% on the front brakes and hence you end up changing fronts pads 3x more often.
Conti cars have bite and abrupt brakes e.g. Merc, BMW etc. and you will also have the same dust issue.
Like me and some bros, we changed to NiBk front brake pad at sgd95 at Vision Garage to the dust and revert back to more Japanese like peogressive braking. Other bros simply spray the stock rim black or bronze.
    Hope this help.

How's that brake pad? Better? Less dust? Will that void any car warranty?

Been to service centre at Bukit Timah, Leng Kee and Toa Payoh.. Sad to say, all give me "cin cai cin cai" un-pro???? feel.

Still under the free servicing period, hence will still go back TC service centre.

After that, definitely won't go back TC.
