Im surprised you didn't list out qashqai... Hehe...
In my mind, i did, but dont fancy the interior.....Will consider

new improved model all comes with audio control at steering definitely. At least that is what I noticed.
No lah, who would buy a new car to respray especially when it is for bumping around.
Either she make do with next best color or i buy another car with the color she prefers.
One thing is that i hate anything thats leychey.
If no genuine full leathers , and i still have to go get it done, i will reconsider.
But best is to go view the real thing this weekend.
No rush, at worse she just drive the mazda2 until COE expires.....
Wahaha.
Maybe Cx5?
Mitsubitshi ASX?
Thanks for the inputs.

definitely, regardless purchasing a <$100k or >$200k car, most importantly is the shiokness feel of driving away a new car, shouldn't rush into in and ended up regretting the purchase within months of ownership. Like what others recommended as well, can see Qashqai 1.2 Turbo as well and Subaru XV. All are in the same category as Vezel.
Bro, think they are referring to auto fold mirrors when you lock your car. As for steering audio control, not all 1.5l cars have it. Vezel is not a premium ride. At 1.5l and with the current price, the things that vezel has already beat many others of the same category, no doubt insulation could be improved. Anyway the latter costs only about $80 - $150.
Lol. Then bobian bro. Or wait for the turbo version.

my old civic FD1 installed with this auto fold module, however perhaps due to my work (outdoor sales that time), keep locking and unlocking car, ended up the right mirror module fried in around 12 months....

this is another good testimony of using w30 EO; will do so at my next servicing. thanks, bro
update your experience bro:)

Bro, imho, i find qq turbo worth taking a look. The interior built and insulation are better than vezel. Engine may not be as responsive though and may struggle a bit on steep slope. Quite well equipped too except it may not have ctba if i remember correctly. Subaru xv interior felt too plasticky and basic, not to mention lack of power.

of course man, personally despite I'm selling vezel, I don't really promote ctba, remember the Volvo clip went viral on youtube which the auto stop system failed and hit the man standing right in front of the XC? haha that is really funny.

Basically as mentioned, Vezel is specifically built for just 1 purpose, carry out its job point A to point B at the lowest fuel consumption plus some "conti" gadgets like electronic parking brake, start stop and 7 speed transmission. Other than that, if you are looking at posh interior with "conti" feel plus excellent insulation. Qashqai 1.2 is a better car. Just have to bear in mind of the turbo and as what you mentioned, sluggishness upslope.

However if you think about it, at current market now, $110k++ cars, basically you have to understand we are only talking about "budget" car category as compared to 06 07 time when such budget, we can be looking at entry level conti car already.

Sigh.... this is the saddest truth of Singaporean motor head.

Yup. Both got its pros and cons. Interesting that vezel was hardly being promoted on it's 7-spd cvt while with the likes of toyota which emphasizes on its super cvt-i. Think cvt bring cvt...ta man. At 110k, so many choices last time...

Vezel 7 spd is actually to complement the Earth Dream Technology engine which Honda R&D 3 different variants to bundle into the Fit, Vezel and Vezel Hybrid. Basically Honda CVT and Toyota CVT is fundermentally different from my understanding. What Honda tries to achieve is the dual CVT system which works like a dual sequential gear box to minimise the wear and tear and improving the responsiveness in between gear changes. While Toyota Super CVT-I has the intelligence to maintain constant rpm for most efficient output of power to fuel ratio. Either one is definitely slowly catching up with their European competitors after years of slacking behind technology innovation.

Definitely, 110k last time is like free market... now limited choice available only.
Anyone test drive or sit in Vezel yet? We saw it but as the car is sold, we are not able to sit in it.

If AD only needs $10k booking fee and no COE bidding fee, why PI asked for extra $10k? Must be very careful as maybe the PI was in need of money urgently.
Common Vezel in the roads might b due to popularity, gd car to have ?
:-) to each his own taste bro , end of day enjoy yr ride !
Just sharing one of the most extensive mods of the Vezel, right here in SG -http://sgvezel-hrv.c...y-and-diy-mods/
Edited by ray_bat, 16 July 2015 - 07:16 PM.
My major concerns are the CVT gearbox and the CTBA features. I heard that CVT gearbox spoils easier when compared to conventional 6 AT and CTBA feature is very annoying and need to switch off everytime you turn on the engine. Please advise on the above 2 mentioned problems. Thanks.
Interesting news about the safety aspects on the Thai made HR-V.
Something to consider for JDM buyers?

I am narrowing down my choices to either Vezel and QQ. I like the Vezel but noticed that the car body is very soft. When I pressed on area near the Vezel logo (supposed to be the toughest body part), the felling is soft. Perhaps this was the reason the car insulation is poor (read from this forum). Can owner of Vezel pls share your experience in terms of car body and noises? Thank you! (The 5 star rating is positive).

japanese cars in general don't really have a hard body chassis whether is it QQ or Vezel. Overtime, the insulation will deprove in general for most cars but the hard car body sticks with you. Perhaps the continental makes will fulfill your needs if you are looking at these 2 factors.

Qq is harder and better insulated..a bit more conti feel... Interior plastics feel harder too. Engine responsiveness i prefer vezel though. Qq eng is quieter. Anyway soundoroofing can be done aftermarket. I already did so except left the trunk and firewall.
Bro..the thai market gets the full specs. SG KM if i am not wrong it's not the full specs despite made in sawadee...i will still choose kawaii.Interesting news about the safety aspects on the Thai made HR-V.

HRV is SOHC engine. Maybe lesser power if compared with vezel?
Yah 120bhp and 129bhp.
I went to see Vezel at PI, really barebones basic car.
Interior really uninviting and cheap.
Exterior and shape is nice.
Saw the Harrier, very well built, am actually impressed by it.
$156k i was told....hhhmmmm
In the end, not buying anything just let her drive the Mazda 2 until early next year then see how

Mai lah mai lah, save money.....Vezel can already but just need some good options like full leather seats.
However i also heard that it is very popular and the earliest next shipment is Oct.
am in no hurry whatsoever. Just backside itchy.
The mileage for this car will only be 5,000 to 6,000km per year at most for the next 4yrs.
So i want to keep it really dirt cheap, money hard earned leh
Goodidea

Harrier target upper market... also upper market price... but definitely Harrier is more comfortable, powerful, quiet.
Maybe you should hang out for Mazda CX-3... or you can consider Hyundai Tucson/KIA Sportage

No lah, Harrier is not upper market.
CX 3 too small, maybe CX5
Tucson built quality not good.

Vezel ok lah, just need to add some good options.
I was thinking of retiring in a few years time so no point buying 5er 7er Sclass anymore.
Maybe sell my 911 and just get a Harrier or something similar.
Take it easy and go on short holiday every month.
Can check whether d rear seat head bumb can b adjusted.. coz i saw at d show room theres only to position.. either top or bottom..
Can be adjusted. Top or bottom lor.
I'd like to have some advises from experts here about Honda Vezel hybrid vs Subaru Forester 2.0i. Any suggestion/info would be very much appreciated.
Can be adjusted. Top or bottom lor.
If mileage is going to be so low, might as well go for a second hand premium car with high paper value. Or qq turbo if you wish for better interior built. Vezel interior in my opinion is already better compared to some other models of the same level. I would choose qq for that better interior and insulation but vezel for eng responsiveness. Or just top up about 800 to 1k plus to have full leather wrap.Mai lah mai lah, save money.....Vezel can already but just need some good options like full leather seats.

No lah, Harrier is not upper market.

Vezel: JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) model, made in Japan for Japanese market. Pricing ranges from $105k~$139k.
Brought in to SG only by PI (Parallel Importers).
Typically comes in G (basic), X (most common) and S (better insulated than X, paddle shifters, etc.) spec. Niceties include LED projector main-beams (not sure about high beams) and CTBA (autonomous emergency braking to try and prevent a forward collision). No steering controls and comes without an infotainment system (PI will install a double DIN unit for you).
Comes with a 1.5L DOHC 129hp engine with CVT. Also available in a Category B Hybrid (with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission), which can also come with hybrid all-wheel-drive. Hybrids also have a top-level trim known as Z.
Expect Vezels to be warranted only by their PI, but external workshops are sure to be stocking up on Vezel parts due to the popularity of this car.

HR-V: Thailand manufactured international market version of the Vezel.
Brought into SG by authorized distributor Kah Motors.
Three trims; standard (quite barebones), LX (with some extra gadgetry and equipment, I cannot remember what) and LX Premium (same as LX but with leather seats).
Local HR-V units from Kah Motors are very poorly equipped compared to Vezel, and the build quality, and worksmanship has been severely criticized versus the Vezel. Compared to Vezel, there are no LED headlamps or CTBA as the most obvious omissions, but HR-V is equipped with the integrated OEM Honda-Link infotainment system that can directly link with your iPhone (but useless with Android).
Uses a 1.5L SOHC EarthDreams VTEC engine that rates 120hp, with a CVT.
Warranted for five years, unlimited mileage, by Kah Motors.
Heard the Z model soundproofing is better, also curious if anyone bought and on fuel consumption?
Edit Reply
Anyone here bought the Hybrid Z version yet? Thinking of changing my 5 year GS450h to this for practical reasons as I just had a baby.

Hybrid fuel economy should be better... I think most Vezel are now getting around 12~13.5... can't remember. Hybrid probably 15, but the electric motors also make it a lot quicker.
Z model should have the thicker sound insulation of the S-spec model, so should be.

Hybrid though unpopular, not many people bought.

..... on the other side of things, isn't GS450h a lot bigger than Vezel? Ah, got child seat problems, I guess... Vezel being higher up should make it easier to fit...

Oh... Ok, that's for e SE, how about the company itself? It can't be just earning this amount for each car they bring in right?
Of course not la. At least 10k-15k per car. Then it depends on your overheads. Salary, rent, storage, etc etc.

Refer below, there are two steps.
1) Choose Files -> Select the doc/pic/etc that you want to attach
2) Add to Post -> Remember to click this so that, for e.g. the pic that you attach will appear directly on the posting.

The CO2 emission value can be found under sgcarmart's specs for the car. However, one thing that puzzles me is that how come the values for the X and S models differ? X is 113, while S is 121, which makes S fall under the $5k CEVS rebate while X is $10k.

That's precisely why I want to find out the CEV rebate. One SE told me because S and X model engine are tuned differently because S is on 17" rim. Make some sense to me.

nothing to do with engine. the only difference is weight and rim size. and CO2 is calculated as kg/km so the car has to cover a distance. thus overall weight and rims affect this figure even if the engines are identical.

I would look at the overall unladen weight of S. If better insulated it may be heavier too? Not too sure on this though.

I would rather take lower CEVS as it will affect your PARF at the end of the day.... ya, SE all say different thinking, think wana "smoke" ppl again... lol...

Hi Bro Vins, any owners here uses boosters on their rides?

Hi bro, sorry cant help up as u see my posting, I oso newbie leh... lol...

These are very different from LTA's registration log card.

Dont quite understand why.
i dont think G is heavier than X. G have much higher co2 reading than the rest.

I agree... even the SE also say he confuse on this new rating.... LTA confuse them, they confuse buyers.. lol...
If you go to OneMotoring (LTA also) OMV page, you will also see that Vezel has like three dozen different entries all with small variations of OMV... parallel import cars can be really weird

there is no real OMV for the car because they import the Vezel from various dealers across the world hence the costs differ in terms of shipping, transportation etc. On the flip side, the PIs basically self-declare the OMV.

only kah motor can take from japan directly or Honda direct. PIs have to "purchase" from other dealers around the world.
how to i unsubscribe from this?
i decided to get conti car liao bcos vezel getting too common
If your office and home areas got more than 5 cars same model, considered common?

I am not surprise.

Depending on, if his PI send in for VETL EC .92 test (which require 5 cars minimum on a single BL) or failed the test or PI could just go for the easy route to just buy the VETL report.

I suspect the later.

Actually for the same price (no top up for CEV rebate) i prefer band a4 due to higher PARF or scrap value.
Hi,

Any feedback on Vezel's pick up and cruising speeds? I test drove the HRV which is on a dated engine at Kah Motors, feel that it was quite ok but didn't really have the chance to speed up much around Ubi. Am now considering to switch from my 8yo Civic FD to Vezel X as I would need to renew COE 2 years later and I dun believe the COE price will go down significantly. Any bros here did similar switch e.g. Civic FD to Vezel? If so, how was the experience? Is Vezel better than or on par with Civic? I love the Harrier but the price is a bit tight for me - dun want to pay installments on a tight budget. Love the looks of the Vezel but too bad can't test drive at PIs, as such any feedback or advice would be great.

Thanx!

That's also the question I like to know....on paper the bhp and torque figure looks too sedated to me....but I may just consider it if I keep my current car for occasions I need to pump up my adrenaline.

By the way, today I read a biz times article that PI vezel price can be as low as $109k. is it true? how much price you vezel owners paid and what omv your vezel is ? I would like to do some assessment of the depreciation.

actually I feel that PI can quote whatever price they want to set (high or low)... it still boils down to your "nego" skills to ask fro discounts & freebies lor... maybe they quote low just to entice you to visit their showroom... then... u know liao... lol...

hha that why I didn't rely fully on biztimes article reporting price to be as low as 109k........that is also why I am asking brothers here for the actual price and omv they paid to compute the depn.

From my understanding, vezel is direct from japan, not dealer around the world. so far vezel is their domestic use, not even in Europe or usa.
More likely from those auction house in japan.

came across 1 of the website before.
hohoho.... tink tiz wkend showrm will be packed agn liao... AD & PI smiling waiting for u... lol...
Hi all! I'm looking to purchase a vezel from PI JDM. Does anyone have any good reviews or negative experience with them?

THanks!

Probably just see see look look only. Next month onwards higher quota, prices on downward trend, given larger quotas coming and poor economic outlook, no need to rush in unless need a car urgently...

Hi Chengtl,
i used to own a civil FD 1.6 and test droved the HRV from KM before ordering a vezel, and i think power and drivability is good enough. of cos cant compare a saloon with suv interms of cornering if you wanna drive like those type R civils do.. As a whole its good enough, with sufficient power, FC, space and looks.

I just secure my coe today with just one bid, thanks for my PI:)

Since your car still have 2 yrs to go.. i presume you might get a good trade-in price. Good luck.

yes vezel is made in japan no question about that but it's not purchased or imported directly from Honda as in PIs do not do direct purchase of it from them. They will have to source for the car from other dealers (or maybe like you said "auction houses") to get the Vezel in. If not what's the use of Honda appointing Kah Motor as their authorised dealer in SG? After all, there is a certain fulfillment on Kah Motor's part to Honda in regards to the authorised dealership.

For cheaper price yet made in Japan, it's a no-brainer... I would choose cheaper price and yet made in Japan over thailand anytime.

agree with you totally.

i don't care if PI gets from agent in Japan. Its not like agent built or assembled the vezel themselves.
Any bro know where to get the foldable boot cover and how much per piece? Some PIs doesn't include that and some use those hard tonneau.
Check here brother:

Bros, any advice whether I should pay the penalty and cancel my contract?

The situation is, I booked a Vezel X from one PI (famous in this forum) at certain price (market price at that time). Paid 5K deposit and 10K for COE bidding. But the key is, no COE rebate given. So now the COE dropped 10K andVezel X selling price dropped my than 5K, so should I ask to cancel my agreement?

To me buying from PI is gambling and lose is just lose. But my wife says we should always go for better deal. Even we lose some admin charges, we can easily get it back if COE drops further after Aug.

Any advice? Sincere thanks!
Thanks bro Marcostan!

moral of story... even famous (assume should be "reputable") PIs can screw u big time... really unethical people out there.... anyway, how come no COE rebate? Is their price really that attractive that you forgo this rebate.. I feel no matter what, die die must have some rebate, at least if coe go below that level, u will be compensated...

anyway, in event that you really make the decision for pull out the deal, come here name the PI to shame them...

take care bro..

maybe request them nicely to let you have the updated selling price, some friendly relations can go a long way.
If not, as long as they don't ask you to top up money, if they get you your car "early"... enjoy your ride sooner. I think it's better than to lose deposit and "admin fees".

if got COE then I will not complain at all. The problem is, PI says they will not bid till Sep or later when the unit arrives SG. So need to wait for so long and at the same time, see COE drops fast

In the contract, it only says to be delivered approximately in 3-4 month

Now looking at the contract I signed, really feel so stupid. No COE rebate, no exact delivery date... First time to buy from PI, so just chose one most people bought from. End up like this...sigh

A lot of driver really con by dealer . Some time don't need to panic. Do home work first and remain calm.Coe drop of 10k is over couple of biddings. Have you gotten your coe yet?
Here is a piece of good news from BT 22 July 2015 -http://www.sgcarmart...e.php?AID=13335
- "Registrations were led by the Honda Vezel with a whopping 1,242 units, or almost four out of every 10 cars."
- This means that we should be able to find spare parts easily for the Vezel !

Hmm..quite bull...usually is bid first within the stipulated no. Of bids and deliver asap. If you paid a good price, hold. Hope the best for you bro.

Yah, agreed with Andyngps on the bulls.

I passed my PI the deposit cheque on Monday and they got approval of the loan with the banks on Tuesday and proceed to bid and got my coe on Wednesday when my car not even in SG yet.

It all boils down to the greed appetite of the PIs.
