SGD140+ selling at Mustafa? Any idea is power reserve got at least 40hours? Wow for the price! Who needs warranty for Seiko and Rolex.. first 3-5 years usually no issue..

I dont think it's "at least" 40hrs for such a basic movement.

I think probably maxed out at 40hrs .

More likely around 36hrs or 1.5days

Which is really good enough already.

Bro, get this one from Mustafa export Seiko watch counter. No local warranty (but you won't need that cos its a tough and reliable quality Seiko). The day function turns into Arabic script after 12 midnight and back into English at 4 or 5 am. Pretty cool if you asked me.

Automatic movement, 42mm, whole thing Made in Japan. Only $140+.

It comes with a nylon strap so what you can do is go over to Bencoolen street to buy a budget genuine calf leather strap to put on. Won't cost you more than $30.

It also comes in Olive green, Navy blue, and Light Khaki. And also a Barcelona FC version.

    abit top gun look sia..

That Seiko is called the SNZG15J1. 42mm, see thru glass caseback, non screw down crown, non hacking seconds, non winding crown. Good enough for 100m.

Yeah I have it in Khaki but I put it on a black zulu strap. It is a cool-looking watch.

Yeah can get at Mustafa. The low price is due to it being export model and no warranty. If buy from Bencoolen is about $200.

This one is smaller, at 39 mm, but with DLC case, see thru caseback, and hacking seconds/winding crown. Not screw down crown though. Good for 100m. I think about $160++? Export version at Mustafa, no warranty. Model SKU is seiko SRP277.

Looking to get myself a daily wear for work and i'm eyeing this Seiko SNDE27P1. According to the website below its listing at SGD$244 with free shipping, which is within my budget of $300.

I'm only a mere 27 year old desk jockey and i can't afford $500 or $1000 watches. As seiko seems to have some degree of reliabilty, i was wondering if anyone of you guys can recommend an alternative brand, or convince me to stick to my choice?

    http://www.uniwatche...ens-watch/13330

    You can try Orient.

My experience with Seiko isn't very good compared to Orient. Entry-level Seiko tends to run a little too fast and even faster for MIJ export version (from Mustafa). Maybe it's meant for Japanese market with much lower temperature than Singapore laugh.gif

My Orient Bambino on the other hand is freaking accurate.

Yup, hardly can reach 40 hours for Seiko5 even with extended wear.

Orient one seems to be under declared, can reach 45 hours. Accuracy also under declared. biggrin.gif IIRC it's declared as +/- 25 seconds, but mine is +/- 5 seconds at most.

do you know that you can simply open the caseback and regulate the time?
    very simple to do.

Bambino is a nice watch. Which one did you have? Black face on SS? Wanted one for a long time but decided to save for something else.

My 2 Seikos are the SKX009 and Yellow FM. Hoping to sell the Yellow FM now, but the SKX009 will be for keepers. Need to replace the bezel though. Do you know where to get a replacement SKX009 bezel?

The power reserves are frankly, not fantastic.

Mine is the black face on RG.

No idea on the bezel replacement, but one thing for sure it will be damn expensive.

Most value for money 18038 single quickset
1803 is a bit old and no quickset
18238 is double quickset so might as well wear it with gold bracelet.

Skywatches - People's Park Complex. Instead of Casios and Seikos, strongly suggest getting an Orient. They're very nice and affordable watches, built with a quality that's commensurate with other watches many times their price.

Bought this yesterday. I had no intention of buying anything before I went in to the shop. Just wanna browse and admire the luxuries of life. laugh.gif

But this piece caught my eye.. I've been looking at pix and rave reviews since 2 years ago and I've had notions of getting one, but they never seemed to be available at ADs for me to try.

I asked to try and I felt a connection... It felt way better than the time I tried the 16570 and 216570. Price is also something which I can afford comfortably now.

I composed myself.. Took a deep breath and asked to consider. Walked out of the shop and told myself to wait a few days to see if I really wanted it. After all, I do get buyer's remorse oftentimes when I spend on big ticket items.

But as I approached my car, I realized that I could not concentrate on my surroundings anymore.. And having just missed out on another watch a week before due to my indecision, I decided to take the plunge.

So I went up, drew the cash and just paid for it. Don't think too much

Now a happy owner of the beauty.. Nah it's not a Rollie or some high end watch, rather a piece of tribute to the diver of yesteryear..

Presenting, my Tudor Black Bay wub.gif

The watch looks better in real than in pix. No buyer's remorse for sure! Lol

    Nice Tudor!

The red bezel doesn't suit me but attractive watch all the same.

Speaking of Tudors, I was quite attracted to the vintage Tudor "snowflake" submariner that Monster Time had a few years ago, complete with faded bezel and "top hat" crystal.

Cigars already caught on in china mate. You right
Thers a distributor aleady and you need quite a lot of muscle to do it.

As for the 18k bracelet for daytona , yes but aftermarket.

thats a lovely Tudor. What's the investment like?

come to think of it.. dont have something red... this is worth looking into.

Should be about $4.5k or around there. Very affordable, but I still have to convince myself since watches are not something I'm used to splurging on.

    my toy watch.

but for those buying BnR, take note of the stupid strap. It deteriorates and will tear at a weak point after a year or 2 of usage.

quite an amazing piece of precision engineering...

but aesthetically... acquired taste. I think these watches cost abt a qtr of a M each.

some come with 2 vertical tourbillons....

An excerpt from the business insider article.. I found the Hublot part extremely amusing. laugh.gif

    http://www.businessi...l-street-2013-8

I saw an Associate get picked off for sporting a new Daytona the week before bonus. ?A quick "if you want watches to matter, go work at Morgan Stanley" wiped that smirk right off his face.
#1: Wearing a Rolex is like driving an Audi. It says you've got some money, but nothing to say.

Thanks to Hank Paulson, Nike running watches and Livestrong bracelets were to 2004 what Lloyd's stubble beard has been to 2012-13. ?There are quite a few senior guys that still wear a Nike sport watch, intentionally, or even no watch at all.

#1: Not wearing a watch is the new Patek.

Forget all about Hublot. ?It?s a great way to tell people that you?re an idiot who has more money than taste. ?Hublot was a second-rate brand with third-rate craftsmanship until about 15 years ago when they arbitrarily doubled the price and started paying celebrities and sport figures to wear them. It's been a marketers wet dream.

#1: Hublot put the ?whore? in ?horology??

Agreed, there is no business for a 27yr old Associate to be wearing Daytona except only to show that he has stupidly splurged his mere $20k bonus away.
    Same theory with cars.

Its always better to wait till one can truly afford it with a capital "A".
Then it doesnt really matter that much anymore.
Thats the state of zen in terms of luxury item ownership. thumbsup.gif

Because Gerald Genta designed the Royal Oak and the Nautilus back in the '70s. Bvlgari bought over his company as well as Daniel Roth so their designs are now incorporated into Bvlgari watches.
