    Forte3737,

I am looking for your buddy LPPL who has not responded to my simple question of what his present ride is. I have respectfully asked him for the third time already. He has openly stated he want a healthy discussion yet he chose to be one sided to suit his purpose.

BTW, thanks for answering my curious query on your ride. I assume that your 520 is the famous German marque. In Hokkien they call it "Bien Tak Yu". Kindly confirm. If not, I will be glad to accept your clarification.

I know, that's the thing that have been on my mind since collecting my car yesterday. To switch on motion detect or not...

Btw, the car battery can change outside or safer to change with TC? I was talking to an SE and he told me the battery from TC cost around $800...

Your SE know nuts. Just enquired TC SC, it's $175.00 b4 GST. Although more expensive but cannot be more by so much.

LPPL, you have not responded to my simple question yet. I have respectfully asked you twice already.
You have been persistently coming here to discourage people from buying a QQ 1.2T for whatever reasons. Assuming some people agree with you here, surely they would like to consider another car. Logically your present ride can be assumed to be a comparatively superior car since you seems to be a knowledgeable car expert cum critic, people may want to switch over to your car model. So why are you avoiding my question. Are you too embarrassed to state what you are driving because there is something to hide?
You have openly stated you want to have a healthy discussion on cars. So what is holding you back?
BTW, some brothers hinted that you are Honda car fan. Can I take it that you drive a Honda?

    Wow wow wow wow wow.

3 weeks from booking to delivery, that was fast..

My QQ1.2T last year, from booking to collection day was 10 days.

After booking, within 2 days was COE results, secured my COE, car existing stock, rush SE faster prep, collection day was my birthday [laugh]

That said, for the amount of demand and possible backlog for this car, 3 weeks is indeed very fast if not existing stock.

Got me very surprised as well ( I only know that new battery at VW was already super ex at $500). Change it in inside 2 years get a 50% discount ie $87.5 ex gst. Cheaper than outside.

Actually for my QQ1.2T, near 1 year mark on a particular servicing, my SE said the car couldn't start due to battery flat after servicing. He called me to inform & I was surprised because car is barely 1 year old. He asked if I ever turn off the start-stop, I said no. He said could be because of my high mileage (35,000km annually). Didn't buy it but no choice lah accepted the 50% off price.

Suspect would be the blackyvue camera... You travel to Malaysia a lot with it (?) because I cannot imagine clocking up that much mileage in spore.

My blackvue has power magic installed. Sort of like limit the battery juice the camera consumes when car is not started.

I have a few work places in Singapore so I travel around a lot, like 80km per day at least. Never driven to M'sia before though [:)]

If your car had been bought ex-stock, it may mean that the car was in the the warehouse for quite a while in between manufactured and shipment period from UK. The original oem battery might be up to 5~6 months old during the process of registration.

Because of similar past experience,I asked for a new battery before collection of my new ride which was bought ex-stock and it was complied with. On careful checking, I found that the date of manufacture was actually approx 8 months to date of registration/collection. Heng ah!

The QQ1.2T I got was ex stock but indicated as somewhat end of 2014 MY. I collected the car back in 2015 Feb. That's why I was surprised.. 1 year battery flat during servicing in mid Jan 2016.

Nowadays a lot of new cars have start stop feature. Certain brands, during servicing, allow the SA to permanently disable the feature to allow for longer battery lifespan. I dunno if TC can do that for you guys.

    Is quite ok ----
But the upper half is of a bigger tank

    So assume

no expert here, but normally i pump and stop at first click.

take mileage divide by number of litres pump in and it will be more accurate with the 2nd tank onwards with the same method.

I use the VehiCal app on my iPhone to track actual mileage and fuel + cost each time I'm topping up at the station. It provides an accurate calculation of the fuel consumption per tank.

Used it since day 1 I collected my current ride so I can actually get a summary of the total amount I've spent on fuel for the past 6 years.

    One method:

    1. Pump petrol when the fuel light shows up or just about

    2. Pump petrol until full - first click, stop

    3. Reset the temporary mileage reading

    4. Drive your normal routes

    5. When fuel light about to show again, check mileage attained

    6. Divide over the no. of litres you pumped in #2

I have observed 750-780km for the QQ1.2T before. My routes are 80% highway/20% city driving on ESSO98. Usually 1 driver + 1 pax only. 18" rims & tires with throttle controller installed.

Lousy FC? I don't think so.. considering size of engine vs. size of car. But my routes are more highway based so FC is better.

No offence but isn't Harrier different class in terms of performance, size and most importantly budget? I think it would be significantly priced differently from the other 2.. at least a good $20K at least. Which means a lot in this segment.

Also.. 23km/L in a single trip on clear traffic like highway is attainable in most new cars nowadays.

The 2L in the Harrier is indeed nice to drive. The interior leather trim is very impressive too. Good choice in the end

I like the Harrier a lot. It's one of the cars I always steal second glances at, on the roads.

QQ1.2T being my first SUV ever. Actually the FC not bad lah, for a med sized SUV with a small forced fed engine. 750km for me, I got no complaints already. But I still preferred the image of a saloon car. I've always preferred a tech laden interior or feel from the car so I've been waiting for the new Audi A4 ever since it was announced. After waiting for a year, it finally launched in SG. Cat B dipped to $38K and I told myself I gotta get it!!

But mine no VC lah very expensive +$7500 and additional waiting time. I need the car for my wedding later this year so I thought might not be in time.

Hey guys how to get such good FC? Im very light footed but my average is 10-11km/l. Best trip hit 20.1km/l beforeMy tank full usually the computer shows 550 but I see some of you got 700+? Lol and usually half tank will go around 300km total distancehow to stretch to 400km? hahaha anyway my driving route is 30% highway 70% city la..but still, can share how to increase FC? Hahaha I pump 98 all the way so far

So how you hit 20.1 km/l? This may be your best answer to your question.

I used to start moving the car very slowly...allow it time to move before revving higher. Fc sucks haha. Probably due to the weight.

Now I start to rev up earlier (to 3kish) then release pedal to maintain speed. Fc improved tremendously.

Pardon the noob driver. Still adjusting to the big chassis.

End of the day, u know what u r getting with the price u paid. It's all about managing expectations, including buy a car.

Bro, I am on 225/45 R19 as well. Have asked around, not many choices and also damn expensive. Csc5 is $380 and Bridgestone re11 I think is $365.
Any other Bros have checked prices and models to share?
I am thinking of downing it to 235/50 R18. At least the tyres are in the $200 range.
Traffic lights and carparks, especially multi storey carpark are fc worst enemy.
My traffic pattern has quite a bit of these and my fc is 9.5 to 10km/l.

So it may not be your leg but the traffic.

Both stamford n TC quote me $500,each tyre exclude GST. I think there is a conspiracy between them.

I am likely to downgrade to 18" like u mention. FC may also improve.

Understand 225/45R19 is not a common size in Sg yet; that probably explain why the price levels are higher because of higher stock holding costs.

I had asked TC cust svc and then my SE if changing my wheels will affect the warranty. Typical vague reply is no it won't esp since tyres all will go thru wear and tear.

However, they also added the vague disclaimer that changing to anything to a different spec may void it as you are operating outside the car's requirement.

Probably talking abt upgrading to larger wheels. So downgrading could too.

I don't think changing will void warranty. So meaning I cannot even change other brand of tyres must die die use back csc5.

JB don't have this size in stock for most tyre shop. I have tried a few.

You can get Michelin Pilot Sport for this size at around SGD$400 per pcs. Still cheaper than what TC has quoted.

Still, this is not a common size. I have changed a pair due to sidewall puncture and I kept one just in case of emergency while waiting for new tyre as even my regular tyre shop will take a few days to acquire the new tyre.

For $1600, you may be able to get rim+tyre but need to maintain the same offset.

Heard from some TC Workshop source that dusty brake pads is one of the most common complaints made by QQ owners and TC is aware of this issue. Understand they are quietly testing out new "low dust" brake pads on some of their in-house cars and if it goes well, these will be replaced progressively whenever QQ owners send their cars for scheduled servicing.

Not so sure if changing to third party brake pads with outside vendors will affect TC warranty terms.

[I think it should be FOC or "goodwill" according to the source]

    Dusty simply means cheap.

No way TC can justify using better quality brakes voiding warranty!
