It is tough to keep the rev to below 2000 when moving off from complete stop. In any case, I just enjoy my ride and refrain from hard acceleration for now.

Cruising at 100km/h the rpm is at 2000.

Is that with ECO mode turned on? I tried using ECO mode and the gear switching is smoother and the rev will not be so "jumpy" and exceed 2000. Of course, the rate of rev will also be dependent on your foot and expectations of the initial pickup speed. :)

For me,cruising at 100km/h is also approximately 2000 rpm.

Sorry the bootframe looks similar but spare tyre frame and tyre repair kits looks different. So must swap the whole boot items.
Not sure if its possible, if more PPL interested I will request Tc to check if possible again..

Yes, Iam interested. Can you also check whether can we trade-in the current set?

Any one did a comparison btw UK version 1.2 vs Local 1.2 Vs Local 2.0 on the specs?

Seem like TC/Nissan is not providing the full function and will there be potential for such function to be updated and release?

Bad move to step into TC showroom yesterday. Pretty impressed by the Qq 1.2T. No time to test drive, so just moved through all the seats to have a feel. Was comparing with the Vezel and felt that Qq is more 'insulated' & 'protected' due to larger car body and thick door panels.

May I know how much margin are we able to negotiate from RRP as I'm not in a rush to get before CNY anyway. SE was very positive in delivering before CNY if I book by this week. They seemed pretty confident even though the price is 4 bid non-guaranteed.

I'm spoilt for space in my current 2.0L Edix which still has 3.5yrs to go. Trade in price is so-so only but still better than Turf City PIs when I asked around for Vezel.

Guys I just did a quick check on ARF value for the qq 1.2l turbo and seems like the CEVS rebate may be $15k and ARF is $0.
Where as the 2.0l has no CEVS and ARF is $15k.
Does that mean that they both have the same depreciation at the end of the 10 years since the selling price now is $15k difference.
    Qq 1.2l $125k
    Qq 2.0l $140k

You have a 2.0 Edix with alot of life left (Edix is cool, i'm envious), why look at 1.2 qq, or even 2.0 qq. Not saying qq not good, but its a 2.0 Edix!

In today price context, you will be basically paying alot of money to downgrade to a car that is not better. Unless your Edix got problems lah. I have a colleague who change from an Accord to a Jetta. The Accord was bought during cheap COE and Jetta during high COE. I always wonder why he "downgrade". But I can't say it is a downgrade cos the newer car is more expensive than older car.

How does CEVS affect a car?

Cars with low carbon emission qualify for rebates (between $5,000 and $20,000) against the vehicle's ARF payable.

So you pays less when purchasing a car with low carbon emission.

How does CEVS affect a car?

It determines how much PARF value u get at the end of the day. So higher CEVS means u get lesser PARF Value back.

Example, PARF Value for CaR is 10K, CEVS is 5k. At the end of 10 Years you get 5K back in case as 5K is paid back for CEVS rebate. So higher CEVS means lesser money end of the day when u scrap car, not sure how badly it will impact resale car, doubt much.

Correct me if i'm wrong, as this was the concept i got from reading online.

Sounds bad if scrapping cars with higher CEVS....

Will it affect much on Qashqai 1.2T ?

Ok... Qq1.2T's OMV is about $20k.

    ARF = $20k.

    Parf at 10y = $10k.

So, if CEVS is $10k, your Parf at 10 = $0.

    Your annual depreciation is $124k/10=$12,4.

Qq 2.0's OMV is about $21k.

    ARF = $22k

    Parf at 10y = $11k

CEVS is $5k. Parf at 10 is $6k.

    Annual depreciation is ($142k-6k)/10 = $13.6k

    $100 more per month.

Road tax and interest also more for 2.0.

    I cannot afford... [smallcry]

Maybe you should buy my Edix haha. The Edix is great to drive and is going strong as my mileage is pretty low as well. No issues but I am not using it to its potentialas a 6 seater. Its a great conversation starter with 3 seats in front.

It all started with friends who booked the Vezel that got me thinking. Anyway, the maths worked out unfavourable to trade in at this point in time. Will just drive my Edix till the end of COE.

Happened to see a white 2.0 Qq on the road today and its avery sharp looking SUV. More road presence than the Vezel.

I guess its managing expectations. I don't expect it to perform like a 2.0L. Small cc TC cars can be pretty fun to drive. Tried my friend's A1 1.4 TFSI and its wow! The trend forward will move towards small cc TC powering our regular everyday 1.6L or even 2.0L sized cars for the everyday drive without the high performance.

Well it depends driver. Getting a QQ is won't be a Driver Car like Mazda 3, Honda Civic, etc.

But both QQ mid torque and speed burst seem to be well done, but moving off from stationary i believe is one of the draw back even for a 2.0. Think it is CVT gear box plus the car doesn't seem to like to be push at low speed.

I thought the calculation should be:

    OMV - CEVS * 55%

That should be the value at scrap.

Normally Cat A CEVS is 10k, Cat B CEVS is 5k.

You mentioned you try to keep the rev below 2000. SE told me turbo starts to kick in at about 1800; some website reviews said turbo kicks in at 1750. So 1800 is about right.

Is it a recommendation during the run in period of the new car to keep below 2000 with turbo working around 200 rev? Hope to learn.

For 1.2 folks, I read on the UK forum that the manual recommends keep it below 4000 rpm for the first 1200 miles. Hope this is useful info. LOL

Can I ask how much does it cost on average to install these add-ons?

Sorry I missed your message, on avg bout 20-60 per item for installation.
Most of the things you can stick it byyourself.
Itsonly the front styling plate that you need to bring to workshop to install because need to drill hole and screw.

Since the waiting queue is long, they probably slowly bidding the coe ba.

    Lol..horse power more then 2.0

Make our 2.0 driver sad. But I don't think they will bring this in, more like when there is face lift they will bring. Aussie is selling the same 2.0 as SG so changes will impact regional and not SG.

Just sharing why I bought the new Nissan QQ 1.2T.

I am currently driving the VW Scirocco 1.4TSI (twincharged version) so the power drop was quite significant for me especially when my Roc has stage 1. But I didn't buy the QQ for performance. I need space for work and goods delivery (I run my own biz).

Furthermore, the level of tech features in the QQ is very impressive for a Japanese car of this price segment. Quality and fit & finish of the interior is much improved too. Also, I needed to get rid of my VW which was nearing its 5 year age, meaning the warranty for the DSG will be over soon. Additionally, the design for the QQ is very striking, non-Japanese and refreshing while having some muscular lines. Space wise, its a very big upgrade for me coming from a 2 door hatch back, both for seating capacity, interior room and boot space.

I went to view the car on Thursday. Booked it on Friday [drivingcar]

1.2 has rear torsion beam. 2.0 has multilink. think not many car models has such differentiation in the same model. this should be a good example to f8nd out if torsion beam and multilink has significant perf and comfort diff. above info from tan chong spec sheet

Honda suspension usually is firm so will feel bump. 1.2 vs 2.0, I think 19 inch tyre more bumpy then the 17. Remb pump air often, TC no nitrogen gas for tyre.

Starting to see more QQ on the road. Saw a SKQ silver and white yesterday and today at Joo Chiat respectively.

My friend who is keen to get a 1.2T after seeing my 2.0. He was calculating the difference in TC absolute $ between 2.0 and 1.2T considering last month COE.

The actual $ difference between is $6,112 if we minus the COE.

I am not sure about 1.2T OMV and CEVS but he is thinking hard now as difference is a mere 6k.

1.2T do have advantages being road tax and fuel friendly. However he is concerned about long term maintenance cost for turbo engine. An overhaul of turbo compressor etc can be quite costly if you are driver who like to rev and cheong. Not sure any conditions for 5 years warranty provided by TC relating to turbo engine.

Hope he get the 1.2T so that I can swap the 19" with his 17". :D

For those who upgraded the the HU to local set, can I check whether the GPS map data is provided in the form of SD card inserted to the HU ?

Reason of asking is there is an map update instruction and I think you can do it yourself without paying TC (if need to pay).

I am not sure if I am allowed to share links here (mod please remove if I am not).

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated to this Aliexpress store.

As mentioned before, it's prices are quite a fair bit cheaper but parts are probably replicas in good quality. I know because I have bought a few for my current ride VW Scirocco from similar Aliexpress stores. I have ordered 4-5 items (chrome accessories) for my upcoming Nissan Qashqai and they are on their way here. I will revert once I receive them regarding quality and fitment.

Also, I PMed the seller before ordering, telling him/her I want a few items and I was given a discount of around $20-30 USD, combined packing and fast delivery.

Some items are still quiet pricey comparing to the original.

Bro, can share why you want to switch our your 19" rims and tyres for the 17" ones? For FC concerns?

I booked the 1.2T so I am definitely trading those 17" rims and tyres for 19" ones, just that I haven't done my shopping yet.

There is actually a free map update from TC. But only can use this update once.
Our maps last updated should be 2014 Aug. So maybe can consider to update this yr Aug or end of the year.
I suppose the maps installed on our HU should be 'locked' map.
Used to play around with garmin locked and unlocked map. Eventually I gave up, just pay 20bucks for upgrade every year.

I booked the 1.2T so I am definitely trading those 17" rims and tyres for 19" ones, just that I haven't done my shopping yet.

I would beinterested in the 17" as long as PCD is 5 x 114.3. I am on 18" and I prefer the comfort though slightly compromised stablity of the 17 inch rims. Larger rims make the car looks good but comfort is sacrificed. For that matter , any new Qashqai 1.2 owner who would like to give up his 17" rims, please send me a PM.

Yupe, thats correct. 1.2 will have a more smooth ride then 2.0 as we are running on 19inch and tyre profile is much thin then then 1.2 17inch. But as mention before, remb to pump air regular.

Bro, this is ot but I'm baffled stage 1 can cause power loss? Thot such tuning supposed to be better than stock.?

But those who MO the genuine entry guard can cancel. It comes in a set of 8..
    Think this cost about 80bucks.
    Now USD strong..

Think I'll stick with the genuine one then

I had placed an order for Nissan Qq 1.2L (Metallic Grey) last week.

Shipment expected to arrive in late Feb. Hope that I can get the car by end Feb or early March.

I went for test drive at BT (Clementi > Ulu Pandan > Sixth Ave route).

At first I was sceptical about a 1.2litre petrol engine running a big car like Nissan Qq. Will it be under-powered? But the turbo-charged 1.2litre enginefeels really eager to get going at traffic stops and has tons of mid-range torque. The ride was pretty quiet and the Xtronic CVT technology delivers a smooth drive between gears. But I felt that the leather-wrapped steering wheel was a bit light as compared to the Honda Stream that I am driving now.

Inside the Nissan Qq, I was most impressed by the advance drive-assist display, the center console design, nice metallic finishes, stitched leather trims and creative use of lighting. It will be better if the car is equipped with rear seat air-con points. The start-stop system was working well and I understand from the SE that fuel consumption was around 17.9km/litre, nice.

I was overawed by all the safety features and gadgets in the car (Intelligent key, cruise controls etc) which some can only be found in high-end cars, no time to try them out during the test drive, but my SE promised to spend time going thru them with me when I pick up the car.

Below is a review on Qq 1.2 which I found pretty interesting to read on.

Congrats and welcome to QQ club.

We did a compare of 1.2 vs 2.0. Beside me, other 2.0 drivers also went to test drive the 1.2 which we discuss before on the feel and differences. But still it is qashqai !! TC pls update 2.0 computer dashboard setting! If you had read my feedback, I'm still waiting.

This car (the 1.2 T) is so much better value than the meanly specced Altis.

    Hi bros,

For those driving QQ 2.0 or maybe 1.2, do you notice your engine RPM when it is in N mode without air-cond switched on? I noticed mine is abit too low, probably around 500-600 rpm. And probably due to that I noticed when shifting to D and not pressing the accelerator, there is very minor juddering. Is that normal? Sorry if I sounded noob [:p]

Was looking at this trunk guard vs the genuine one too. Any interest or comments?

The older qashqai and Xtrail's trunkguard also looks good, wonder they can fit the new qashqai or not.

This one looks like it covers more than the original. Won't mind getting this instead of the original one :)

Hi All, am in 'excited' mode cos waiting for my Brilliant Pearl White 1.2 DIG-T. Hopefully am able to secure COE in Feb. Actually test drove on 22nd Jan in TC-LK, a few days later placed booking on 25th Jan in TC-Ubi. Saw many people came in to test drive this also. Just wondering what's the experience for bros who are already driving the 1.2, any issues faced when stationary upslope, full load, e.g. Taka basement CP going out time. That is a classic place to test roll-backs if any.

    Welcome to the club!

I booked mine 30th Jan, if today secure COE, can collect before CNY - As mentioned by my SE.

Chose Metallic Black. After booking, immediately research online and bought some Chrome Accessories for the car.

The QQ has got very good tech features, comfy leather seats, striking design, interior built quality, affordable pricing but the CVT gearbox will need getting used to for me. I haven't drove a CVT before. My current ride has a DSG. So while they claim the CVT is much improved with lesser rubber band feel, there is still some.
