Hi planing to get qq 1.2. But looking at the number of complaints and issue in this forum, is it really a good buy?

You look at the percentage of the no of complaints vs no of buyers. At least you know the possible fault and remedy and you still can bang table with TC. It all depends on your luck. In all manufacture, there bound to have some defects. End of the day, it is most important whether you like the car or not.

I have the same reservations as you. I also read alot of complaints (mainly the rattling noise and power loss)

While test driving the car, I told the sales guy (ubi one) abt the rattling noise and he said he did hear some feedback abt that and he said it is because of the axles (dunno which part) and his guys managed to fix and check all cars before delivery

As for the power loss, i checked with another Sales lady (Bukit Timah) and she said she did hear one feedback from one customer but the customer when to do software update and so far so gd. She has not heard anything abt the rattling noise

Other than that, i like the car and i will be going to BUkit Timah showroom later to settle liao. The lady gave me not too bad of a disc

Agree! I have also booked my pearl white 1.2T last week!

Haha i was deciding Bright Red, darker red, grey , Pearl White or Artic White

Wife don't like bright red, so down to the rest of the 3 colors.

But i don't really like pearly white cos of abit of yellow feel to it so i went for Artic white, even though have some reservations about maintaining the car and color.

    Which cushion color u chose?

I like the car and the price. Looks like no worries. When I test drive that day and the SE mentioned mostly issue was due to owner modification. Which it doesn't sound the same as what written in this forum. That's make me worry whether the car can last long

Yes there Bound to have defect, especially number of ownership going up, more feedback been heard. Thanks all for providing quick info.

Haha.. I like the pearl white due to the slightly yellowish tone as I am now driving a very white subaru forester. I have chosen black seats as I visit sites often so I worry brown seats will get dirty fast. I am lazy in fact. Lol. :D

Well, one man's meat another man's poison. I booked pearl white too. Then l go around comparing between attic white and pearl white whenever l see one, under different lighting condition. After 3 weeks of look see look see, l changed to attic white and in the end l waited 3 months for my car. Don't deny that Pearl white look more classy, but don't like the yellowish effect under lighting.

May want to try another SE . There are differences among them. If you really are keen , I am sure bros here with good SE experience would be able to check back with theirs what you can get.

    Hi Bros,

I'm waiting on the sides to buy a QQ. Still considering between QQ 1.2 or 2.0.

Anyone have a SE to recommend? I've met one SE that didn't want to give anything up in terms of discounts.

Also, should I trade-in my current ride through TC? Got quoted $40K for my 2010 VW Polo...

Welcome to all those who just book their QQ. It's a beautiful car and for that tax/insurance premium, fuel economy and AD package, have to say it's one of the best you can get for it's type on the local markets.

For those that are undecided and worried about the issues brought up on this thread, I guess it's really a gamble. I had most of the issues with my QQ but at the end of the day, no major/safety issues.. just minor nuances here and there. Although some of the sales rep in the showroom are throwing BS like owner modifications, "we fixed the issues already"... etc..... tell them to put their money where the promises are. 1 defect refund $5k. At the end of the day, sales rep are just trying to make money too. They can be nice and all but they still want your money.

And lastly for those comparing the QQ with perhaps... vezal...

    Horsepower - Vezal

    FC - Vezal

    Torque - QQ

Comfort - QQ quieter and better seats

Interior - QQ with more functions

Child car seat - QQ with ISOFIX onboard

Overall feel of car - QQ with continental drive and feel

    Third party accessories - Vezal

Hope everyone is happy with their choice! :a-m1212:

Yes i am looking to secure my ride tomorrow.

Either Mazda 3 hatchback or QQ 1.2.

How is the fuel consumption for QQ? THere are 400+ pages long and i don't have much time to read through it too...

Can anyone provide some numbers and also contact?

    Donald, previously posted:

For 1.2L dig-T, 500+ would be 70/30 city/hwy, 600 km is 50/50 city/hway and 700 are those 20/80 city/hway and 800km are those 5/95 city/hway in that order and not actual measurement but for guidance but city/hway mix and how you maintain <2000 rpm makes significant difference to FC.

Just my opinion but Mazda3 of 1.5L cannot compared cos still only sedan and not SUV category and around 50-60km/hr, Mazda 1.5L runs out of steam just a bit too early. No brainer for me but of course Mazda is cheaper and you need to manage your expectation.

Did pps at Optishine , abt $900 for five coats (titanium + 2). Very pleased thus far, but regular cleaning is needed (just water and microfiber cloth) ie never let water nor bird shits tree sapping remain.

Well described. Many shades of white...... as there are many shades of black, such as black, charcoal black, jet black or ebony black etc.

Reckon over time, given our tropical climate, whatever whites will eventually be off white. ): lol

If in doubt, my default color most of the time is silver (knowing that there are many shades of silver out there)

Unfortunately my present ride's preferred color choice of silver has been overruled by her majesty because she find it too boring and unfashionable. hahaha

    Donald,

Scheme keeps changing ... when some of us booked last year, there is no non-guaranteed 6 bids. From what I learnt, does not matter guaranteed or non-guaranteed ... seems that most QQ owner gotten their COE in 1st bid as TanChong is quite bullish on getting more QQ on the road.

End Apr or 5 weeks' time ?? Ask your BS SE to signed on it and penalty sgd500/week ...haha. Sure varies with order in UK, Australia etc. globally but UK folks are getting them in 8 weeks and they dun air-ship QQ from Sutherland UK to Singapore's Changi Airport one hor. More realistic unless they have excess or existing stock depending on your color choice is that it would be mid June 2016.

    Cheers

    Cheers

Well described. Many shades of white...... as there are many shades of black, such as black, charcoal black, jet black or ebony black etc.

Reckon over time, given our tropical climate, whatever whites will eventually be off white. ): lol

If in doubt, my default color most of the time is silver (knowing that there are many shades of silver out there)

Unfortunately my present ride's preferred color choice of silver has been overruled by her majesty because she find it too boring and unfashionable. haha

Though I usually dont like silver as I find it common and boring too, but QQ in silver look very nice and sleek and not the typical silver colour, being marketed as moon silver.

Dont trust the sample color ...best to see the color on a real QQ.

I took artic white coz I also thought it will be as white like the artic circle, definitely not the case.

Guys, when you all booked the car? DId u all go for non-guaranteed 6 bids? Usually by how many bids will be able to secure?

Sales person told me estimated end Apr or May can get car as shipment will arrive then

Non guaranteed - Good chance that one bid suffices (SE need to eat, no delivery no bacon to bring back home for that month) .

Also saw what Richard posted about delivery.

When i was choosing color, SE told me that only Bronze has existing stocks. The rest of the colors either manufactured in Feb or March 2016 and gotta wait till end April or May to reach our shores (shipping takes roughly 2 mths).

She showed me her phone and could see the different inventory level for different colors. So i guess my car is already on the way via ship to SG since it was manufactured in Feb/Mar right?

Next to install is all the small mat. Managed to fix all except our center console. But still managed to fix up some in the center console.
Lastly the 4 pcs of inner scuff plates. The longer pice is for front door while the shorter piece is for back door.

    Thanks for sharing!

Presume you know how to tune the radio (best to manual tune if auto tune does not work well).
As Fanggee said , once u have the channel you want just hold and don't release your finger from the touch screen . You can see that the channel now stays. Then leaf through and do the same: choose another station , tune , press and hold.

Hi, I'm new to this post. Just signed on the dotted line for a Qashqai 1.2. Tested and like the ride. Everything looks good on the car except perhaps the audio system. Thinking of adding the premium subwoofer (that comes with the 2.0) but don't know if it will enhance the sound. Appreciate any kind soul willing to give their opinion. Thanks!!

I have added a subwoofer after taking my ride. Now the sound is more balanced. A subwoofer sure helps anytime.

Must see how much they charge you. My SE said that if you want the subwoofer must take the adventure package which is $3k more. I don't think it is worth it. Can just go to any audio shop and it will be much cheaper then what they offer.

    Hi Cashkai88

Welcome to the Qashqai family. Actually u can wait till u get your car by which time u will be given your Duo points (for all Nissan car owners) and then "redeem" your subwoofer using those points.

With the points u get from buying your car, u will probably be paying very little for your TC-installed subwoofer. Guarantee value for money and won't have any warrant issues caused u installed it with TC.

I thought duo membership only after you collect the car and you chalk points only when you start paying for service or parts. So for me, must wait till year 3 before can start chalking points as free maintenance during the first few years.

Just found out the irritating rattling sound at th dashboard comes from the gps cable.... Pry open the side panel and stick your hand inside the console and u will find the loose cable without sponge. All those with sponge are the stock ones. This CB installer should at least tape the 2 cables together with insulation tape. Really pui....

I use blu tek to isolate and damp the cable. You should try it if u have this little rattles.

Sell outside. I got $48K for 2010 koup.

I thought duo membership only after you collect the car and you chalk points only when you start paying for service or parts. So for me, must wait till year 3 before can start chalking points as free maintenance during the first few years.

I guess I am one of the few whom gotten the nissan maintenance programme till 50K.

My free service maintenance aso till 50k and SE registered my car purchase for the dou. I have over 50k dou points.

Best thing is to call TC and enquire when we start chalking up our points. Do we need to register or it is auto register once you get your car? I like to know too if the 1.2 comes with car alarm? Can any existing Qashqai 1.2 owner send me a pic of the car remote? Like to know what are the buttons shown on the remote. Seem like there are two types.

It's news to me that redemption for sub vis rewards especially that there is substantial points in Duo.

Am on 3 servicing to 10 k as well. Outside workshop will contractually void your 5 years warranty

    Hi Eric

Haha, think many are not aware. U can redeem "servicing voucher" using Duo points so that when u next send car in for servicing u just inform TC u wish to install the subwoofer.

A couple of things to note:
    1. Servicing vouchers got expiry date so u need to plan and time your servicing so voucher is still valid
    2. U need to check beforehand that the particular TC branch has stock of the subwoofer

Anyway, confirm can one coz a few of us have already done so and I have an email from Duo Team stating that this is ok
