I notice my dashboard display (2.0) is very different from the 1.2 posted. Is this something that I can set or change ? Or it's just a mere lower tech 2.0 package that I have to live with.

I noticed instead of getting the distance to go like the few previous posts, I'm just getting the trip meter.

Unfortunately, 1.2T and 2.0 speedo cluster is different. 1.2T displays a different interface and may have more options to tweak with. So far, TC haven't provided any firmware update for this. Not sure if it's possible in the first place.

Good news is 1.2T is using dynamic ecu means update possible but the bad news is there is limited authority to overwrite the system outside of UK.
Technically you can mod your 1.2T to a 1.6T but its definitely gonna void warranty.

2.0 is using a static one meaning update impossible, either live with it or upgrade during facelift LOL

Mod as in tune the ECU to stage 1?

I asked my VW tuner, he say $800+ for piggyback, gains are minimal around 15BHP & 15nm of torque, not really significant. And need to remove prior to servicing or warranty will be voided. Maybe I will consider after the car is out of warranty.. if I do manage to drive that long (I doubt).

I still don't understand why our local 1.2T is 115BHP 165nm and UK specs of the exact same 1.2T is 115BHP 190nm?
Anyone's SE bidded high amount for COE this round (QashQai 1.2 non guarantee bid)?
Mine ganna outbid again.. sianz.. SE say dont worry cos stocks are not in until June. But doesn't that creates a backlog?

You do make a point.. the local spec sheet says 165nm 1750rpm. UK or international reviewers will state 190nm 2000rpm.
I just find it weird because most manufacturers will state peak torque.

On the other hand, it could be detuned due to Singapore's warm and humid tropical weather. Like how the VW Scirroco and Golf R has 256BHP here while overseas one have 265BHP.

I think UK one is manual transmission. The JATCO CVT7 (JF015E) may not be able to handle 190nm torque.

Nope, most reviews I read which quoted 190nm are on the same CVT as the Nissan Qashqai offered locally.

Shhhh... Spotted HP use when driving lol
No leh,
The km/hr is at 0.
That mean the car is stop. Car stop can use HP leh.

Oh I see.

So from what I see, CVT gearbox threshold for torque is possibly lower so they detuned it at 165nm of torque. It's weird how reviewers have the CVT version but still quote the 190nm torque figure.

What colour is your new car?

It's a gray. Not a big fan of washing car hence did not go fr the white though it's awesomely beautiful
got a mgs from SE say my ride arrived 12th last week..only can collect on 25th and now no leather stock for the color selection I wanted. Leather only arrives in April (April when still don't know..) ask if I want to collect the ride 1st then leather install later..I think the planning is poor & absurd!
Now don't know should collect 1st as my current ride will be handed in to 2nd hand car dealer soon & left w.o ride, super inconvenient & pissed. Worried if I collect 1st what if unluck enough that during installation scratches or damange, then how to settle..
Any bros experience this..

Tell tc you will keep your old car till they fix the leather in April. Make sure they go out your trade in price. You should not be made to pay for their poor planning.

I am more curious about what leather color choice you made?

Hope you get this sorted soon!
Thanks bro, prob. Is my ride is sold to another dealer who took in at much better rate..it will be vry irresponsible for me to keep ride and pass the buck to dealer as I firmly believe in trust..Tell tc you will keep your old car till they fix the leather in April. If I were you, if TC cannot do the arrangement for me, I will not risk it. I will hand over the used ride first.. in case the dealer pull stunt and don't honor the price they offered to you. They can do it.. because they can say the price is agreed with a timeline or date in mind and your side cannot commit.

Also, April not too far away. Another point to note. Collect the car as per normal, do all the necessary checks. Drive the new car for awhile then send back for the leather upholstery lor.

This time in the morning 10+, trip 45km towards TUAS direction. better than my last effort to drive conservatively

19" rims and tyres, 1 driver, minimal load, 3/4 petrol tank, throttle controller installed.
Hi bro thanks..thank god the dealer still quite nice let me drag 1 more week. No choice I will collect ride 1st then later go back for reupholstery in April (again still no info April when..) ..upholstery work is in Ubi not but T.C branch, hopefully no more hiccups...

Cat A COE went up by 3k from 61 to 64k but TC up QQ price from 128k to 133k, 5k increase!!
this really shows the popularity of QQ and out of stock until June/July!!

With such demand over supply.. it's no wonder the AD have some bargaining power.
1.2T so ex now, might as well get 2.0
its the same scenario faced with other discounted CNY 6 bid non guaranteed deals.

e.g altis from cat a.
wish, camry, outlander for cat b.

both ADs raised prices but sold at guaranteed coe prices for the subsequent week (ie secured coe yesterday). that pushes earlier buyers behind the queue.

buyers have 4 more bidding to go but if coe continues to trend up, it will be difficult to fill these orders without top ups.

Sigh.. If TC increase the price of 1.2 to $133k, what will happen to those that downpay at $120k or lower and got outbid during past coe?

Siaz........ TC just up the price to$133,800 for 1.2 and 141800 for 2.0...
As I understand, TC QQ 1.2 price is due to rise in COE, no stk till July where new CEVS rebates kick in thereby increasing the price by 5k and also no more 3k launch discount.

I think they are trying to move the 2.0 Qashqai stocks by pricing the 1.2T very near so it seems like an obvious choice to top up and get the 2.0 instead of waiting so long for the 1.2T (possibly July collection).

The latest QQ is really a big success for Nissan in Singapore
i was deciding between QQ and Vezel.

i realised QQ OMV and Vezel OMV are very close but offering prices quite far apart...

I then proceeded to booked my Vezel at 106.8k, guaranteed COE when QQ was being offered at 116.8k at TC.

may i ask those who have collected their 1.2T QQ, what's the OMV and COE?
couldnt get past the 10k gap with the same level of OMV....

if both cars are same price (regardless of PI or AD), i will buy QQ..looks nicer from the interior and exterior~!

Hi,

Firstly.. to you, PI or AD doesn't make any difference. To most other buyers, it does. It could be worth 10k by that factor alone. It is to me. Another thing is Vezel no test drive.. because PI.

Secondly, my OMV is just a bit off $20K and my COE secured on 1st round of bidding in Feb at around $63K.

I cannot tell you which car is better. Moreover, you already made your choice. Both are very good cars in this segment, as seen from the high sales volume for both models. But I like the QQ musculine stature slightly more and premium design and choice of materials for the interior over the Vezel (no offence to anyone).

Enjoy your car

At this price 133k, Nissan QQ 1.2T not worth. They purposely price expensive, anyway out of stock, if got buyer buy it's a bonus, most probably trying to move their existing 2L QQ stocks, that's why price so near.
When it was 116-118K, versus Vezel, it was damn worth it. I got it higher at around 122k (when vezel was 113-115k). But I cannot be bothered about price fluctuations since I already got it and driving it

Should have tested the horn today LOL.
Not sure 1.2 and 2.0 got difference or not. I find the horn loud and clear. Nissan horns usually very sharp and high pitch but our Qq one quite loud and musculine I find.
Yesterday happened to horn with window down and surprisingly sounded very loud. Seems that Qashqai soundproofing is playing a trick on me. Will not be changing the horn.

I just tested the horn. Loud and high pitch. From inside the car with all doors closed, it sounded like Mickey mouse farted:) I was going to change it until I heard it w the doors open.
Your is 1.2T?
Your is 1.2T?
Yes. 1.2T
Amazing leh.. the 1.2T returns good FC.. My usual driving patterns, not light footed, also have 15.5 to 16km/L.. If I try to drive conservatively, I can get 18km/L consistently. My routes are usually 60-70% highway and the rest is city driving. You see other threads on bread and butter Japanese family sedans also don't have such figures such as Mazda3 and Altis.

Our road tax also lower, turbocharged engines have early torque good for Singapore traffic, granted our torque performance is almost non-existent in higher speeds like 120km/h, the 1.6L setup in other Japanese cars also same lah. Anyway this segment not for spirited driving or racing

My dad in his mid fifties also preferred the height in an SUV because easier to get in and out of the car. Super comfy and spacious too. No regrets so far for me.

Hello,

Have you already changed to synthetic engine oil ? I'm still in my first week. Did not really monitor cos have not changed out the mineral oil (I'm assuming from factory, it is mineral oil, correct me if I'm wrong) and now I spent a lot of time setting up the options while engine is on but not moving.

I did my first 1000km servicing already. Had the QQ for 1.5 months so far. So there was an oil change. Didn't enquire much whether synthetic or mineral lol

Thinking of getting footwell lights installed at Nightzconcepts..

Wa bro, you really get good FC out of yr ride. I only manage about 12km/l for my average consumption(last reset was right after my 1000km servicing about 2 weeks ago. Best ever trip was 19.5km/l done almost 90% highway. And mine is only a 17' rims(changed to sports rim but maintain at 17 coz I was afraid of big rims = bad FC). Do you keep eco mode on all the time? I would switch it off if i'm driving in town coz its way too disruptive and was afraid it might ruin a proper run in. Kicks in almost all the time if I step harder on the brakes when car is coming to complete stop, sometimes even when just moving forward for 5m. Or is that the power of your throttle controller?

Yes, confirm it can be configured under vehicle setting. I set mine to silence mode so no sound when locking/unlocking.

any 1.2 owners can confirm if ours comes with this too? Quite disturbing that it doesn't sound out when locking or unlocking. Especially if car is parked and lost in big carparks (read: Suntec). Looking like a kuku searching for the blinking lights from over 6000 lots lol.

But is it still very high pitched? Coz my gf now calls my car the cute beep beep...
. wished that it was a bit more low pitched and basey.. any good ones to recommend?
Anyway bros, here's some pics of my ride..

Changed the antenna to a 5 cm one that looks like carbon fibre. Reception is as good as the original with no worries of hitting the height clearance bar at MSCP. Rims change to sports rims but remain at 17'' to conserve FC. Went to do up ceremic coating at Ceremic Pro. So far its like a Bird poo and dust repellent:) Kilat Kilat!

Been driving it for 1 month and have been very happy with it. But as other bros have mentioned, the push off of the car is quite laggy and the 'safety' feature of the u-turn is a big minus. Gives us no confidence to do u-turns in tighter traffic. Also, I'm really not sure what is wrong with my car that gives me a current FC of only about 12km/l. No doubt its a very decent figure, but its still quite off the figures other bros are getting from their 1.2T rides. Does fuel brand comes into play too? I'm putting Sh*** Power 98 in, and I have friends from oil and gas chemical background that claims this brand burns much faster to give a better performance. Is it true?

My calculated FC also about 12km/L, so you are not alone...
Everyone is using different route, so this figure depends very much on the traffic condition of the route you use.
Staying in different area also makes a different.

eg. of my previous car's fc:
Last time I stayed in Jurong, average can get 13-14km/l
Then moved to Woodlands, average dropped to 10-11km/l

Nice blink car!

My average trip computer shows 14.3km/L and it is slowly creeping up.. because every journey I clock at least a 15km/L, when the journeys have more highways, my FC reading for that trip usually read 16km/L to 18km/L. My highest reading was 19km/L updated into my system on a 90% highway trip.

I am on 19" rims and wider, lower profile tyres somemore.. Usually just myself + my gf the most. And I am not exactly light footed.. at traffic lights, I usually accelerate briskly to reach speed limit so RPM becomes lower = lower FC.

ECO mode is what? The start stop engine feature? That one still kicks in. Other than this, no ECO mode I think, normal setting for steering.

The throttle controller helps by increasing RPM to the torque range quickly, so turbocharger can kick in earlier and I can reach the fuel efficient speeds quickly.. without it, need to step more to reach the same. And throttle becomes laggy like what some of you guys experienced (I initially did too). Now with the throttle controller, it becomes more perky and rev happy.

My mileage just crossed 4000km awhile ago and I only use ESSO 98.

Ah... your every journey almost 15km/L and above, that explains why overall so good.

Mine every journey can be as low as 5km/L and as good as20.9km/L, therefore average is only about 12km/L

Ya bro eco mode is the green button beside the auto start stop button. Turning it on will tame your engine and lower your gear shifts point so you will always be in low end of the torque. So actually its an opposite effect to your throttle controller you mentioned. Usually when moving off from still, i will try to go light footed to keep rpm lower, but like you said will take a long time to hit max limit speed. Perhaps I will experiment with your style for a week and compare the difference. let you guys know in a bit:)

Then moved to Woodlands, average dropped to 10-11km/l

Nice blink car!

Hahaha I wonder if I should be happy that I'm not alone... means that's the actual figures for this car. In Sg, unless your workplace is super far from east to west, we wont be able to enjoy high percentage of highways(unlike Ang mo countries where every trip is super far). So for most trips, if calculated by time spent its usually 60% town, 40% highway. I really tot by switching to a 1.2 engine with turbo, it will be very diff FC from my previous 1.6N.A Elantra of 11.5km/l. I'm also staying in Jurong and my office in batok. Maybe that explains.. haha.

Ah... your every journey almost 15km/L and above, that explains why overall so good.

Mine every journey can be as low as 5km/L and as good as20.9km/L, therefore average is only about 12km/L

I turn on ECO mode (the button is beside the stop/start) and OFF stop/start.

I also have those 9km/L one, 100% city driving, short errands to run.

I would say overall I am 60% highway 40% city.

My ECO mode not on, stop start is by default ON.

If I turned off my throttle controller & press harder on the accelerator, it still takes longer for RPM to rise up for turbo to kicks in, compared to when it's on and I tap accelerator a bit. I let my brother try my car with and without the throttle controller. He also told me big difference.

It doesn't make the car go faster maybe.. just more snappy, willing to work and rev happy at lower revs so turbocharger can kick in earlier.

wooo.. sounds like nice.. maybe I should consider getting one too
Got this fixed on the doors.
Hi, bro, does the top portion ( front side and back of the car) sit nicely into it?
From the photo, it seems that the back door photo indicated that the top part is a bit "distorted" ....or was the effect of the photo only.
Thanks.

Bro, the front sits nicely cos it is flat.
The back is not perfect cos it is curved.

Hello,

May I know whether you got the scuff plate ? I'm keen to get but could not find in SG.

thanks
Another thing to check with all bro/sis,
Has anyone add addition 2 sensors at the back?
It should be the reverse sensor or turning sensor type?
Thought of getting something to warn driver when doing reverse turning.
Thanks
Got this fixed on the doors.

Bro how much was the door entry protector? The curved part, front and back.

As for the door sill plate.. seems like many versions out there. I'll share mine tmr hehe
Will be waiting for your photo :)

Do share the link of your purchase of sill plate.
Think bro ruddies got it as a whole set.... Some sell in a set of 8 pieces.

Bro I get a set of 8 at $40.
Our reverse sensor I believe is 4 for the rear, at least for the 2.0.

Is it true?
Hi bro can share your experience with ceramic pro? What package you took & your reviews? Am also looking at PPS for my ride but with so many brands I'm getting confused..lol
I'm also looking at CS2 & amazing glazed as well, any bros want to share your opinions? Thanks!

Yes bro if you dun mind I'll share the long story short since I have experiences with both.

Had my previous Elantra done up with CS2, with just the normal paint protection. initial 3 months its all gd and shiny, but afterwards can start to feel the surface having lots of roughness when you run your hand over it. Supposed to be warranty for 18 months, but when I go back there after 9 mths for wash(I go back to them weekly for wash as it WAS only 10 bucks), they keep telling me to do a maintainance package for 100+ bucks... So to me sounds like their products will fall much shorter than advertised. Of course I dont expect it to be as gd as their ceremic coat(Yes they do provide and comparatively seems more ex then Ceremic Pro), but at least it should last till near the 18 months promised. So I'm quite skeptical and decided to look for alternative.

Did the Ceremic ProAdvance package with 3 layers of 9H coat on paint, 1 layer on rims and 1 layer on all glass. Basically all coated. so far so gd:) been 3 wks and I find the car pretty repellent to dirt and especially bird poo. Just pour water on dried poo and it softens and mostly will drains off by itself. should be quite resistant to chips too. Set of 8 at $40 is quite cheap right?!!

My door sill plates (the flat ones) cost around $52 buy from Ebay UK.

any 1.2 owners can confirm if ours comes with this too? Quite disturbing that it doesn't sound out when locking or unlocking. Especially if car is parked and lost in big carparks (read: Suntec). Looking like a kuku searching for the blinking lights from over 6000 lots lol.

But is it still very high pitched? Coz my gf now calls my car the cute beep beep...
. wished that it was a bit more low pitched and basey.. any good ones to recommend?
It's loud, not really high pitch. Quite impressed by the soundproofing, there was once almost forgot to off the engine.

Got the same door sill plates from that UK seller, the finishing is damn good. But that's the only stuff I will get from him as the rest of the shipping fees are too expensive. Only the sill plates shipping is reasonable.

Well.. it's standard international shipping (USD $12.44) with tracking info and speed is really quite quick. For my orders, it has always reached me within 7 working days. So I think it is okay lah.. Furthermore, this seller v helpful in answering queries via email.

Better than buying from Aliexpress with free international shipping but takes up to 35 working days, usually give incorrect tracking info and sometimes parcel don't arrive at all. When they arrive, you'll be worried about fitting issues and product quality.
Have any bro here did the "cut" of the cable that enable playing video when the caris moving?

Front power outlet is constantly on even you off engine and locked.

Your middle glove console, is not "live", so if you off engine and locked your car, it will be turn off.

Thanks bro, good to know there is one that will turn off the power when engine is off, will try it later.
Some things to note/tips for Qashqai Driver: (Pls add on if you have anything to share)

*Aircornventilation- Before switching on the Aircorn, pls select cabin aircirculation , as default air circulationis selected foroutside air. Once selected cabin ar circulation, you may switch on the aircorn. This will prevent the car from switching to outside air circulation during your drive.

*Lock function only prevent outside entry, but passenger can still open door within car. (There is child-lock for rear doors)

*Car wash - Wiper at driver side cannot be fully pull upwards. To enable changing wiper and cleaning car, pls hit your "Wiper" upwards action twice (Fast), it will be in service/maintenance mode.

*12V Power Outlet - Front console is constantly "live" (Even you off engine and locked car there will be power source still), Glove console hidden in the storage area is not "live", it will off when engine is turn off and car is locked

*Rear car boot has 2 button, One is for you to "lock" your car by pressing it.

*1.2 Q has different lock function with 2.0 Q (Motion Trigger alarm/Sound Alarm (Horn when locking)

^For those owning first Nissan ride, change ur battery by end of 2yrs and get 50% off.
^No TPMS for 1.2T

#Suspension - There is suspension noise at time, especially when you left the car overnight and drive off in the morning. After awhile, the sound will go away. I'm not sure on this issue, maybe someone can shared the the reason and also background on this? 1.2 and 2.0 has different suspension but seem to face the same issue on the "noise" factor.

Yes, i went to a workshop, the HU is not easy to take out as there is numerous wire running behind (Alot wires) as i was with the audio guy when he was doing my Amp/Speaker installation. Suggest you go a audio workshop to do this to be safe, maybe cost price ard 10-40 SGD? Depends on how you nego, maybe free if you purchase other stuff from them.

Thanks. Can you recommend the audio shop you went to? (Since they have experience in doing your HU already)

By the way, Front Camera unable to record/Passenger Door - Window tint got bubble (not a small one)/ Rear plastic frame came off after respraying car boot.

Hey bro many thanks for the in depth review!..me too was thinking of going to cs2 initially. My friend who has it on his car says good bt I understands he goes back EVERY week to wash! Btw, I also have the suspension noise.. usually morning cold start will have. Aftera while, the noise is gone.
Already feedback to TC during 1K servicing. They even drove the car out with me to try to listen for the noise, but the noise did not came out. (As the car is no more cold)
They told me if really want to find out the cause, I may have to leave the car there, then next morning they will try.... I reject as I can't bear to leave my car.. haha
Can elaborate more on the suspension noise?

For people still considering the Qashqai

(Ink blue as shown in the video was my next choice if black wasn't available)

Morning cold start, move off will have suspension noise, especially when going over humps. It comes from all 4 wheels. Sounds like light creaking or croaking noise to me. After 1 or 2 minutes, they are gone.. even if you go over bumpy roads or speed hump. If the roads near your place doesn't have bumpy stretches or speed humps, you will not notice the suspension noise because they won't be any.
There is all sort of different tpms. DIY which U change your tyre caps or those install into your rim. Google around and you can find out more. Those inside tyres require you to remove tyre/install and redo balancing. Caps is prone to people stealing? Preference.

The price is reasonable for this one? Heard autobacs $400 SGD, order via taobao is less than $200 SGD. Most probably getting this, not gonna waste effort looking around for better if this will suffice.

Yeah thanks, I realised it goes into the cigarette lighter socket. Can flip open to allow for USB charging.. super useful, even though we have another USB port in the centre armrest storage.

I'd prefer this receiver thing than the iPhone app display thing though.
The model 8886 more suitable for iPhone supporter ... Cos you can't change to other os system phone when you r still the owner of the car :(
So I also prefer the right side one... Too bad front console cigarette lighter socket is 24 hours "live" .... Can't display in front of your sight.

I am iPhone user but I don't like to drain my battery more than what I already do on a daily basis.. And don't want to be seen fiddling with the phone nowadays while driving

Cannot display within driver line of sight is okay, just occasionally check will do.

24 hrs live means if I don't unplug it, it will drain the battery?

It should be since your car is not running, I think is similar to those car camera that is link to battery for 24 hrs recording . Just that not sure how much battery it will drain up... Maybe when battery is new ..it still ok but when battery is at deteriorate condition, might cause your car not able to start in the morning.
But then, just my thought.

Thanks.

I also have the suspension noise when going over hump in the morning. For my previous car, the service advisor say just lubricate the bushing and alas problem solved, noise went away. But the car is so new, wonder if it could be same.

Pls see my comment on the car socket plug. the glove console is not live and will turn off once engine is off n locked. The front console is constantly live.
For QQ 1.2T, does anyone have such a fanny "tick tick tick ....." sound when moving off - forward or reverse, something like the parking brake not release or ABS jammed. With parking brake release, even if you put in Reverse or Forward gear, the car does not move at all, have to step hard on accelerator to move the car.

Had went for PPR coating, all i can said it is superb and value for money, as opposed to ceramic coating that some of our bros here recommends, which is rather ex. Did some research and decided to opt for PPR. Had been driving my QQ for 2 weeks with PPR coating, still as shiny and looking as good as it was as day 1. Go for it, no regrets for me.

Thank for the info.
Managed to find the app in play store... Reviews show many android phones are not compatitable,
No fault of steelmate... Probably due to difference android version unlike the stable iPhone .
