U can set the steering from normal to sport. There will be less power assistance so steering feel will be heavier.Went for test drove today and only one thing I don't like, the light steering feel... Anyone tested Qashqai and vezel can comment, vezel steering also this light?

QQ and Altis are lighter than vezel. really depends on what u like n getting used to.
pple who prefer a sporty drive may go for vezel, those prefer comfort wud go for QQ. QQ1.2T has a sporty punchy pickup feel though but lack power on higher revs. fuel efficient too,as gd as 1.5L vezel cvt

Hi bro, thought the QQ have 2 steering feel options?..norm & sports
Hi Matrix0405
Road tax for 1.2 QQ - $254 (6 months)

$254 roadtax and 13.5km/l (SUV with sedan FC) are killer features often overlooked.
Ummm... se didn't mention any setting or maybe he doesn't know there is a setting.. Only said when speed up, the steering will feel heavier...
Yes, there are 2 settings. you can set it using the control on the steering.

i went through the menu with the SE

i think 13.5km/l not exactly fantastic, ok only when compared to today's standards. Although 1.2L, a turbo engine still drinks more.

Really hope TC bring in 1.5 or 1.6L variants with tuned up bhp, unlike their usual lowly tuned engines.
Renault's QashQai called Kadjar to be officially launched at Geneva Motor Show in March.

Wonder if it would be cheaper ???

Use RON 95

I've been using RON 92 for my QQ 2.0 without any issues (previous model and current model)
The fuel grade on QQ 1.2 states 95, but I was told by SE to use 98 for better FC. Any views on this?

hi, i'm interested to find out more on the ceramic coating, the budget type one. Can you send me a PM on this?

Many thanks !

I'm interested too. (though i have not recieve my ride yet!)
Just saw a bronze col 2.0 QQ along AMK ave3 at about 1210pm.... Nice color car:)
Yes bro. I also think bronze color is on trend. I got a friend who bought a 2nd hand merc and he willing to spend 2K to change his ride from white to bronze. My sylphy 1.5L left about 2.5 years to 10 years.

I will change my next ride for QQ 1.2T.

Or perhaps the steps to enter root set-up directory.

Guys who have already collected their QQ, please share feedback on the wear and tear of your leather seats? Especially driver.
For me, I noticed there are some minor wrinkles or folds on the leather seats where your bum is usually seated. Like the leather is not tightly stretched enough before fitting and sewing.
I checked online and other users also faced same problem.. even though car is very new.

My previous ride from VW, after 4.5 years, the leather still don't have this.
Also,

UK specs list the 1.2T Qashqai as 115BHP 190nm torque, 0-100km/h in 11.3s.

As long as Parking Brake is not activated, there will be no visual screening (only can see warning message), except sound (audio) only from these external gadgets.

Been with the ride for about 8 months...other than some initial rattling noise which took awhile to lower (not fully rectified though but can live with it). No issue so far. 15k++ mileage.
Edited by kitemansg, 24 February 2015 - 09:14 PM.
As for the engine start-stop, did not feel any loss of "power" for the air-con (which is usually set at 22deg).
Been very happy with the car in general, except for the relative poor radio clarity. Informed TC BT about it but service advisor admitted to me he could not do anything about it. Not sure if changing the antennae will help (would appreciate advice from fellow QQ owners who have managed to solve this problem).
Bro, thank for your review.
Sad to hear that your USB ans aux in port are faulty. :(
Can you take photo to show what you meant by the outer small board in the upright position ?...thanks.

Bro thanks alot for your pm with regards to the ceremic coating! am still reading up on more information before deciding. A friend of mine ask if I wanna go over to JB to do instead as he say should be cheaper.

As for the Start-Stop, earlier this evening i tried blasting my fan to full power and drop temp. to 20Deg. When Start-Stop kicks in, i could feel the fan getting less powerful. So i presume it's trying to save on the energy as well. Then after a while, the Start-Stop will deactivate by itself. I'm guessing when the temp goes above my set 20Deg C, Start-Stop will deactivate in order to maintain my set 20Deg C.

I hope whendetermining the consumption it is based on manual tracking ie distance travelled over how many litres filled up for a tank and not a reading taken off from speedometer panel which tracks the consumption for the last 50 -100 kmof the journey or lesser . Hi

My earlier comment of petrol consumption of 13.7km/l is not taken from the panel. travelled 585km (starting from a full tank) before I re-fuelled 42.70 litres (to get back to full tank). Other occasions when I did likewise the results were approx the same, i.e. between 13.5km/l to 14.4km/l.

I also don't trust what the panel tells me...haha
I believe most of the them are taking the consumption readings off the panel.

Mine is based on calculation using distance and fuel top up during each visit to SPC. Using an excel file to keep track of average FC as well
Anybody fit in baby pram into the boot? Any space for additional luggage?
Some feedback & questions:

1. Regarding Start-top feature, if I am not wrong, the aircon will switch to ventilation mode only when the feature kicks in. But retains normal air con functions. When moving off, the cold air comes in again. Why I say this is because I notice the air becomes slightly less cold and the new car smell returns. When moving off, cold air returns again and the new car smell is gone. This is my experience. Maybe others can correct me if I am wrong.

2. Stretched / wrinkled leather at the bum area. My ride is only 2 weeks old but I noticed this. Maybe the local leather fitter not very skilled. Maybe the 2.0L QQ don't have this problem since the leather seats are fitted in factory.

3. Rear doors doesn't open very wide. More evident if you have big sized family members.. Luckily I don't.

4. Normal or sports steering - I tried Sports a few times, noticed it was too light - Not sure if I remembered it correctly but every minor bump on the road affected the steering more which meant I needed to correct my car's position in the lane more often. Switched back to Normal (or Comfort) and stayed that way.

5. Radio clarity can be improved.. Not sure if the service centre can do anything about it though. When I drive on highways, my volume usually set on 7 and I can notice a little bit of static noise.

6. Previously installed the Pivot 3 Drive throttle controller. Never regretted. The car revs more quickly, meaning able to reach the torque easier. Can feel the difference.

7. How come every time I start my car, my GPS auto load? It only became like this a few days ago. Before that, after Nissan Logo, it will either go to Main Menu or load the Radio. Any help?

If your HU is the aftermarket China HU,
Play around with the main system settings (not the setting within GPS program).
There you can set the GPS to auto on or not (each time you start car).

Nissan is no less reliable than Subaru. Only advantage I see for the Forester (non turbo version)is the better handling.

Had done a back to back test drive for both and I like the drive of both models in a different way.

Qashqai - I love the design and how it look both externally and internally, giving that conti feel, and the 1.2T is punchy for town driving. As per typical CVT with pre-programmed gear ratio, need to understand the throttle response of the car and it will be plenty zippy. However I'm worried about the glitchy electronics and misses e.g. improperly installed door seal, which had been reported.

vs

Forester - I love the spaciousness and ruggedness of the design. The 2.0i is plenty enough for daily drive (although the XT will be a blast!) and I know it will give me a problem free drive. However the front exterior designs of car especially the headlamp assembly with those 80s chrome fitting really put me off.

Coincidentally, I was looking at both last month as well and chose Forester. The spaciousness is just much better + 5 years of servicing included.

Hi,

it's actually a plug in electronic device that increases the throttle response or decreases it depending on the mode you set. Mechanic tried to psycho me to buy at 300 bucks..further gave me discount at 280, for a funie adapter looking thing. To me not worth, unless you found someone selling 2nd hand much cheaper, mayb 50bucks.

will tend to waste more petrol too..car wun go any faster nor performance increase, just a false sense of speed...just like "gear shifts" in a cvt transmission, when there r no gears to shift at all hehe. Just my opinion after i researched into it. Found out i get the same response, if i press the pedal more haha.

Got it installed at Mcwell (Ubi area) for $380 installation included. I had this installed on my previous car VW Scirocco so I can't do without it

Guys, during my first servicing, saw a poster on front turning sensors around $160 inclusive of installation. It also comes with a small display of LED that lights up progressively from green to red if you are too near. Thinking of getting it for my QQ.
Anyone done it before? Any feedback?
Does it come with colours to match colour of the ride ?..... If you happen to know.
After watching these ESC fail test, I think it should be made mandatory safety feature. Now I understand why some car overturn when taking evasive action.

Hello there, I need some help here. My current ride is almost come to the 10 years of COE. Planning to buy the new QQ 1.2T. Can anyone have a good SB to introduction?????

I am planning to visit the show room at Nissan Ubin this coming weekend.

Cheers
Just to check. The start stop function should be a strain on the car battery right?
Is the battery different from the normal car?
Heard that Mazda car with the start stop technology requires a special type of battery which costs about 500 to replace and can only be done at authorized dealer.
Anyone can verify?

I am planning to go mazda showroom to test drive Mazda 3, 6 and CX5. Would want to find out what tech they use as well.

So far i understand vezel start/stop system uses a set of high capacity capacitors for the start/stop capability. Not really battery, as it discharges instantly for the spark plug to ignite.

Bro, all cars with start/stop function needs to use EFB (Enhanced flooded battery) type battery. We should be fine la, If the battery is weak, start/stop will not function. Then we know time to change battery liao. change from outside cheaper, brands like varta or bosch have thesetype of batteries.

You go around test driving so many models from Mazda 3 to CX-5, etc. If i am the SE I will be very sceptical about your intention.

agree, the right SE would continue to serve me. if one would understand business relationships are built long term, with integrity, honesty and willingness to serve. You go around test driving so many models from Mazda 3 to CX-5, etc. If i am the SE I will be very sceptical about your intention.
If we dun buy from them but we like their attitude, there is always a process called referral. Hence all my referrals in forum usually are based on a few SEs i met and shortlisted the IMO gd ones. Instead of meeting just one, having gd experience with him/her service and then recommend.
When i test drive,i come in and once an SE comes to say hi and offer help, i state the facts that i am shopping ard to substitute, in this case my wife's car coe ending mid next yr. Have considered other models but want to come have a look and proper comparisons, "Do you mind helping me?"
if the answer is yes, then proceed.
if not,i find someone else.
SEs are used to say 15-20 test drives b4 a committment, even test drive twice. How abt urself dear bro? We don't even know if you own a QQ or Teana,no real sharing so far hor? only sticking blindly to AD & Nissan?

For 1.2 owners, can checkpressureyou are using foryour 215/60/R17? Seems that factory may pumped higher based on tyre max pressure allowed than manual recommended.

Suggest you see what I have been posting on and since when. Check the 'Teana Experience' threadand It should be very clear I am a driving a Teana 2.5 since 2008. See how far back I have been posting on Teana and my previous cars, in fact before you even joined this forum. Recently bought another SUV but not the QQ as a second car and had been looking around at several carsincluding your beloved Vezel before I bought my second car. So even though not test driven the Vezel just like all Vezel owners (prior to purchasing) I have done enough research , spent at least 30 mins sitting and walking around the Vezel, spoke to the PI SEs etc , so should not doubt my comments on your beloved Vezel as something made up to run it down vis-a-vis QQ.

Neither am i a diehard AD or Nissan lover. I go for the best value for money cars that fall within my budget. My replacement car for my Teana is most likely going to be a continental as its main attraction of having a V6 is no longer there. Thus my frank comments on Vezel vs QQ from a value of money point of view which I haverepeated several times in this forummuch to your dismay, that QQ is clearly better value for money. I have no intention of getting the QQ for myself though. It is just an objective and impartial view based on my research on both cars.

You have every right to test drive any car and a SE has a right to serve you but he is not going to do it happily and doubt your sincerety when a buyer is unable to focus on a category and wants to test drive a wide range of cars where the price varies up to 30k from a 1.6 ltr saloon MZ3, 2 litre saloon MZ6to a CX-5 SUV all at the same time. Alarm bells would go offnot just for the SE but for the forumers here reading your posting. Someone who wants to or claim to test drive a 2 litre MZ6 and a 2 litre CX5 would be taken more seriously.

But why so much of focus on test driving such a wide range of cars at different ADs for your wife when I doubt you got a chance to even test drive yourown very rare Hybrid Vezel for yourself even if you wanted to. It was bought based on blind faith, was it not? Blind faith only reserved for a Honda? Your wife is a more discerning and fussy buyer than you?

mayb existing owners can share the spec sheets and emission numbers.
one thing i'm not sure yet,wud emission numbers for CEV rebate on cars brought in by AD be accorded using official manufacture claims and spec sheet?
or do they need to undergo another round of testing in SG. From what i've seen,PI cars like the GTR need to undergo tests locally to gauge emissions level, which differ greatly from manufacture specs..all other brands of cars included.
anyone knows? can share?

Tazzi80 mention before if u read through, should be increasing 5k. Current rebate is 10k, going forward will be 5k.

5k drop in cevs rebate from its existing 10k.

Thanks Tazzi80 and Busy_cool. So in practice, one can expect the price to increase by (approximately) the same amount?
Theoretically, AD/PI deduct the cevs from the car price, so if cevs for QQ 1.2 is reduced from 15k to 10k, we can assume that car price will go up by 5k without considering other factors( Coe, exchange rate..etc). My 2 cents.

There is no transparency on how much the car actually cost with or without the rebates.
I got feeling the dealers eat into the rebates that the government offer for the citizens and end of the day, we hardly gain anything but rather lose in the lower parf value of the car.
Honestly speaking, I rather not have any rebates at all.

Yalor... Just like car before this cevs their premium was 20%, then after this new cevs rebate, their premium also around 20%... Guess the rebate was missing in action along the way... Hehehe

In the end, consumer just suck their thumb :(
well said. The CEV thingy does not benefit the consumer at all. But it does influence the dealer to bring in evironmentally friendlier vehicle since make more profit.
If just didnt benefit the buyer is ok loh.... But we got lower parf in the end :(

Thanks for sharing.
I think the profit margin might be slightly lower than calculated as the declared OMV may be lower than expected to minimise the heavy taxation by Gov.

This probably explained why some car are shipped with minimal configuration (no leather seats, HU, accessories etc) and then spruced up once reached singapore.

I will install during my next 5000km servicing. In the mean time I will find out if there are similar ones out there at a lower cost.
Also need to find out if the sensors will be painted according to our body colour.
Any 1.2 QQ owners know how to preset specific favourite stations on each FM band? I can't seem to find any way to do it. Given manual not any help either.

I feel its likely to go up. Have a chat with one of the SE this weekend, Nissan sales have been extremely good over the last 2 weeks. Toyota same thing sales have been very good that's why the last weekend all the car price increase by 1k.

For Nissan $117,800 SE told us have to depend on the color. Some color where the stock is out until after July the price will be higher due to the CEVS rebate effect.

But again, all these can be sales talk but looking at showroom ppl the last weekend, its likely to increase.

Went around as well to other show room, all say the same things as well. Most show room are really pack and have to wait for some to test drive car.

Most AD are freezing their weekend price by today (Monday), expect a decent amount of backlog and maybe COE will stay ard the current amount or slight increase i guess. The next dip maybe early April if the backlog is clear?

Yes bro, it's a working antenna...comes with a bolt+nut and internally a copper lead wire with ring terminal to connect lead wire back into the threaded hole, with the long original long antenna removed first.
Ya, gotten red reflectors ( top+bottom) stuck into original Nissan logo, give me a horn (hang loose) if ever see me on the road! Hahaha.

Actually am pissed off with the Sales at Ubi too, went to test drive ... told them I forgotten which Sales man served me last week before I went on business trip, just came back. Tried to eye ball ... but can't find him. So how to arrange test drive ... bugger went on and on that I must buy from him if he arrange the test drive else not ethical etc. I told him is it a must to go back to original SE? To the point I didn't mind consider buying from him if only he start to arrange the test drive ... instead he went on and on ... and on and on! Then I just stopped him ... "You lost the business, the branch in Ubi lost the business ... Thank you very much!". I walked off. I think he look me no up cos I dressed very casual ... cos landed in Spore at 6am (after napping I came at 2pm).

I asked my SE, she said yes, it's on when engine is on. However, car manual (pg 2-36) says otherwise, it mentioned if light switches to normal headlights, it will turn off. Makes no sense for DRL to on all the time, that's why it's called Daytime Running Lights.
