Honda Vezel part 14

Guys my ride is coming and I need advice.. I read all about our previous tyre conversations and understand most of us got 17".. But personally, why 17 over 16? And which profile? 225 or 235?

I don't feel like topping up for 17" but if it has it's benefits, I'm willing to consider.. I've always been someone who leave my car stock.. So damn noob in this.. Thanks in advance!

Like you, I stuck with the stock tyres (Dunlop 16"). No issue or difference to me, as 16" already make you feel 'higher' in the driver's seat. Also, save money (unless free upgrade) and save fuel (not sure by how much, though).

I typed 17" wrongly in my earlier messages, sorry.

Its more on the aesthetic.. Bigger rim size makes the car looks bigger..

Fuel ecoonomy wise, I checked the Japan Manual, the fuel efficiency for 16" & 17" is the same.. dunno how true?? [confused]

I also looking around for 17" Rim for my coming "X". But still subjecting to cost.. [:p]

Wider rubber improve the grip of the car with the road surface. We may think that 225 and 235 is 10mm difference, almost as good as no difference. Multiply this value by 4. This will make a real difference. Think about motorcycle having thin rubber vs fat rubber. Which one gives you more security when riding? The downside is that this increase the road noise too. Do note that I am only talking about the advantage of wider rubber and not to recommend it for vezel as driving style plays a major part too.

Also having bigger rims does not necessary equate to "higher" ride unless the suspension and fender has good clearance space for bigger rims and using same profile rubber. E.g. 225/55/16 and 235/55/17. Not sure about suv. For seden or hatchback, the profile is lowered due to rim size to keep the wheel in the right measurements within the wheel arc.

For upgrading of rims and tyres.

    http://www.automobil...da_vezel_x.html

I should be going for 215/55 R17. Thats the minimum diameter difference to the original size.

high rims profile = high fuel consumption. its more on the aesthetics, unless your 17" rims are lighter than your 16"

Agreed it is just for the look and i'm one the culprit.

I was told it cause the PI $200-$300 if they order from Japan. For those cars not shipped yet, might want to ask your PI how much it cost to have this control installed.
Sorry, I meant it COST $200-$300.

    Hi Benny,

Thanks for your advice. Opticoat gloss was easy to apply. Finally applied last night. Less than 12 hours before i was driving in the rain hope it doesn't affect the drying. Feels super hard as i found a small dimple probably made by accident but couldnt scratch it off.

How do i know if i applied enough overall? Any maintenance? When can i apply a detailer to enhance the shine? Thanks!

    Hi Bro,

Congrats!!. The Opti Gloss coat dry pretty fast so it is fine if it contact with water. The waterwill not wash away the coating. What you can do, rinse surface with water and wipe dry. As long you don't leave droplets there is fine. Reason being if coating is not cure, you might get water stains on surface.

For maintenance, use the quick detailer and gloss enhancer. You can use it each time after wash. Remember to pre-mix with water. Ratio1:3.

Not applicable for petrol models, which are basically icon-based.

Hi After each coe bidding u can go to one motoring Web "check bidding result" , key in your NRIC to check if your pi have bid for u and the bid price. I have spoken to my PI yesterday, he mentioned that why some of the PI change the Vezel pricing to POA is because of the LTA horsepower rule for this vehicle. As some of the test from LTA on this vehicle is tested over 129hp locally so now is very grey for either Cat A or B.

wonder if and when ST Life (Saturday papers) will test drive and feature the Honda Vezel in its weekly car review section. usually see cars reviewed that are from Authorised Dealers - as they allow test drives - but the Vezel has become quite popular and gaining more ownership.

talking about that, any of the local auto magazines (I don't subscribe) have featured the Vezel? we could learn a thing or two from the car experts about the car, especially technical things we don't know or look out for.

Is there any current Vezel owner who got COE cat B.? Please raise up your hand

Even if the PI uses cat E we should able to see if vezel really exceeded cat a power limit by looking at our vehicle registration info.

So I am calling current vezel owners to look at thier registration log to see the maximum power recorded?

    Thanks

When they say coe1 bid guarantee no top up, in the contract is stated the target delivery window. usually 3 to 4 months.

This is different from immediate delivery or 3 days delivery.

this will overwrite the white light to other color lights

I have spoken to my PI yesterday, he mentioned that why some of the PI change the Vezel pricing to POA is because of the LTA horsepower rule for this vehicle. As some of the test from LTA on this vehicle is tested over 129hp locally so now is very grey for either Cat A or B.

So far is 128bhp. Well be it 128 or 131bhp, dealers should sell at a confirm price but not misleading price. If agent can fix a non guaranteed & immediate delivery price, PI also can. Do take note of what you are signing on the dotted line. Example:

1)Guaranteed COE, No top up, No Rebate
2)Guarantee COE 50K, No top up
    3)Immediate Delivery With stated date
*2 is very misleading as it stated 50K. No top up is get your deposit back or dealer will top up? If dealer top up, DONT write any amount on the S&P.

Hi Bro, I intend to do as well and sourcing for one. Not sure which is a good brand.

Can also any bro can advise for best results, I heard that after polishing, it's best to have dry and hot weather for the next 1 to 2 days? For the chemical to fully absord into the paint. Is this true?

Yeah, that is what my PI told me also. The most expense thing in the audio control is the cable that cost more than 250. These are original made in JPN. I will install this later ... hopefully when more vezel on the road and get lower price and made else where.

After 5 traffic lights, I switch the VSA off as I cannot take it anymore even I just collected my car and drove for 15km from the showroom to pick up my wife today. The moving off delay is unbearable. Actually my agent already told me while he and me seated inside the car during the collection and he already mentioned that "you will sure switch the VSA off one lah" :-)

so you were saying when it kicks in we get delayed start as described in this user manual?

Hi After each coe bidding u can go to one motoring Web "check bidding result" , key in your NRIC to check if your pi have bid for u and the bid price. But from PI must prepared to wait as their so called x times guarantee doesn't mean they will start to bid after u signed the contract. [sleeping]

    Hi Bro, thanks

Is there any current Vezel owner who got COE cat B.? Please raise up your hand

Even if the PI uses cat E we should able to see if vezel really exceeded cat a power limit by looking at our vehicle registration info.

So I am calling current vezel owners to look at thier registration log to see the maximum power recorded?

    Thanks

When they say coe1 bid guarantee no top up, in the contract is stated the target delivery window. usually 3 to 4 months.

This is different from immediate delivery or 3 days delivery.

    Hi Bro, Thanks.

I think its the way you step on the pedal will sometime activate the VSA.

There are a few condition/s will activate the VSA as shown on the screen.

The answer is a definite YES to affecting safety.

This is Vehicle Stability Assist we are talking about here.

"... it is a function that attempts to ensure the stability of the vehicle by suppressing such as skidding of the wheels..."

"... prevent unnecessary idling of the drive wheels in a slippery road surface, driving force, it is a function that attempts to ensure the steering ability..."

Honda is having issue with their air bag according to today's newspaper. Not sure will this also affect the Vezel X model.

Apparently, older cars are affected. New cars seem ok. See link below.
