Honda Vezel part 12

  • 04 November 2014 - 08:46 AM
    Yongz

anybody has collected their rides from volks auto??? their pricing seems most attractive...........
but it seems almost impossible to be that cheap, I mean I checked on the brand new price of vezel in japan & applying sgp import tax + COE....
almost selling at a loss which is impossible for them right??

Actually i'm going to sign with them these few days.

find their pricing really attractive, but its hard to get anything extra from them.

Maybe that's the reason why they are cheap, its all fully stock.

Heard there will be delivery in mid-end Nov

Which sales guy you talk to?

Vezel is using the 'Earth Dreams' CVT for mid engine capacity applications? How is the feel/response of the CVT?

this question has been asked many times,

as a driver for almost 3 weeks i can tell you its punchy and smooth for a 1.5l engine. Pick up is good as the body is lightweight compared to other SUV.

the chassis is built similar to the new FIT but slightly longer and more roomy

For those that have the tonner cover, can you advise if the hard or softer one is better? Thanks.

For me, I prefer the Hard one cos I can put things on top (eg. Tissue Box, Cushions, etc). Currently had such good experience on my current car. Also, my thought is that mechanical type is straightforward thus noteasy to spoilt. Where else the retractable one dunno pull in/out when going to give way..Unfortunately, my SE told me they only provide the soft-retractable one & currently no accessories in sin yet..

    bro delay again ah?

Ya, just get informed by the boss.. Long neck liao.. Booked the car on beginning of August...Already 3 months passed.. My current car is due to be scrapped at 26 Nov, but nevertheless, they promised to give me a carto use (Free of charge) until the new ride can be collected.. So I cannot complain too much on this.. And quite appreciated they offered it without asking.

But will go for COE bidding tomorrow... As my COE price is locked at 58K. So hope I wont have to top up too much.. Let's see how the 120+ extra COE at CAT A will impact the price tomorrow... [sunny]But I do think that I need to top-up more...

Yeah ... knew that when i brought the car. I think if it is a nail puncture, it can be fixed on the spot easily but if it a cut, then might have problem. Also when bring to workshop for repair, the mechanic need to clean away the chemical first?

To all the bro's out there who are going to collect their ride, just some info to share after i went for paint protection 1 week + back

Please check carefully your paint work upon collecting the car or inspecting your new ride- minor scratches, blur surfaces etc

Usually when ur car arrive from the Japan, there will be a layer of wax sticker pasted in the factory to prevent damage to the paint work when shipping. This sticker surface will be removed by the PI when they are ready to deliver ur car. They usually will leave some residual stick marks on the surface paint (very common)and will try to polish it off with a simple but not thorough job.

This is not so obvious with lighter colored cars like white or silver as you need to look very closely and with proper lighting from certain angle.

Look specifically for for blur surface and on the paintwork of the car.Go and feel all around the surface of the bonnet, roof, doors and rear gate.

If you do feel/ see some area got blemish or some irregular surface ask your SE to do some additional polishing. Please note some of you not able to see it but if you ever go to a good polishing place to polish after collecting, they maybe able to tell you that your car paint work have some minor issues.

Honda's are known to have very thin paint coating in the market similar to subaru, toyota. 0.86 microns vs BMW 100+ microns.

    hope it helps

    Just to share my experience...

During collection, paint was looking good.

Even though i washed religiously every week, within a span of 2-3 months, swirl marks, water marks were all over my Black Vezel... ??????? [bigcry]

Then came some smart guy who scratched my rear.

    Dats it...

Sent my ride to Revol for Paint protection and they even offered to respray the scratched panel, FOC! [thumbsup]

Now its damned pleasing to the eyes and touch... :D

My Honda Fit also come with a electric pump and tyre repair kit only! I have encountered more than 10 times of tyre flat due to nail punched into the tyre. What I need to do is only use the electric pump to inflat the tyre and drive slowly to the nearest workshop to get the tyre patched. No need to use the sealant and nail will hold the tyre pressure long enough for you to drive to workshop. [;)]

The electric pump is really useful and much easier than change the spare tyre [nod]

Thanks all! i will try to answer some questions asked here

Shout out to Bro Mitlancer71 for honking me and waving to me with such excited smile! [sunny] [smash]

Firstly, the ride is indeed better than expected for a 1.5L engine.going up slope no drag issue, i try to turn off the auto engine off function whenever i can as its quite distracting even though its suppose to save fuel (must get use to it)

Engine has a nice growl to it and feels punchy as bro seankwa & TanWL1970 mentioned, so far happy with it.

Drove on ECP manged to hold speed quite well too, say abt 90+km/h to 100km/h

Yes the foot padels are smallish but comfortable enough and ave good feel and feedback

The gear box cvt must run in a little

the headunit pairs with the bluetooth quite well, made some calls handsfree in the car, sounded very clear. there is a mike up near the rear-view mirror to receive the voice

Tires are toyo T1 Sport 225/55/17

Rims are psudeo HRE (note my display pic)

all got through cartimes (they will arrange for special price with the tyre shop of your choice)

I changed out the front two speakers with Hertz HSK 165 speakers (pics coming out soon)

i also got customized Vezel floor mats as well with V-cool, only offered by cartimes

Cartimes also still owe me the side skirt from modulo which has yet to reach SG, will wait for that to install.

now the negative (1 only), the voume control on my steering is not working too well, will get them to rectify it in a few days. -meaning intermittenly cannot turn up/ down volume whenever i want to. Will keep u all posted

Bro, you have your side skirt and volume control sorted out?

I also just signed with jdm for my vezel and is worried now. On signing, they say loan amount can be discussed later, now i tell them i wana pay more down and shorter loan period, they kept delaying and need to check with boss.....

For the bidding of coe, they say start after loan approved, im concerned liao. My friend was saying should make them commit a date in the contract. Now the delivery of my car is not even commited by them.... not sure what other trickc these pi will chu....any advice? Now keeping fingers crossed that they will honour their words

The bank should de calling you within a week to verify your personaldetails and loan amount. If the bank didn't call, there is a possibility that they haven't submit your loan form. I also change my loan amount along the way and my PI forgot about until the last minute. I guess as long as the SE is helpful and the bank is willing, it can be done.

For my case this is the sequence of event that happen - 1 bid COE(got the COEimmediately) -> shipment arrived in about 1 ++ mths -> LTA inspection about 1mth-> loan process within a few days-> lta registration -> collect car.

Once you sign on the dotted line not much things you can do, you can eitherwait or cancel the deal (not sure got penalty). Getting from PI is like sitting on a roller coaster. You got your highs and lows and we all hope that there are more highs than lows. All the best.

well said bro, indeed once you signed you are subjected to a lot of uncertainty, but for guaranteed you have higher chance of getting the deal done unless your loan not approve (then that's the bank's or credit company's fault), or the PI go broke...touch wood

for shipment for Vezel, the first few batches are standard white, silver and black. That's why many PI's bring in the 3 main colors first. Thats why the other colors take a longer time to reach our shores as the it has to be special order and requires booking.

bro use this two sites to get some reference on what rims and tires u can use on the vezel very helpful for those who are interested in changing the wheels! First find out the range and clearance and then refer to what size tires you can fit.

it helped me a lot in making the decision

i would go 215/55/R17 for comfort

225 just feels more stable- my butt feel lah haha hope it helps [sunny]

agree with Soonkuay76 that the fuel consumption has been averaging between 14km/l to 18km/l; although once i recorded 20km/l for a drive from east coast (using still road, PIE then CTE) to ang mo kio at about 7am, no passengers and with speed between 80 to 100km. hard to repeat this as it depends so much on traffic conditions!

i'm using 17 inch rims (happy with them) and so far, the full tank top up (95 Shell) has lasted 10 days with a quarter tank left to go (basically office to home daily).
