I think OMV is also dictated by the currency exchange rate at time of import...

Been driving the Vezel for a couple of days now and really enjoying it! Still learning a lot about the car, though. Pushed it to 120 along CTE (!!) this morning just to feel the bugger and if felt smooth, 'light' yet powerful (make sense?!).

Apologise if I sound "suar-koo" but I have never driven an SUV before, let alone own one! The past 30+ years of driving has always been saloon (family oriented) cars andhaving to face the traditional analog dashboard display ... Ha ha!

So while trying to figure out the digital dashboard, for example, I noticed a red blinking light in the dashboard after I locked the car. It does not go off at all. I can't seem to find it in the manual. The thing is, I only noticed it last night - didn't see it on the first night at home, or when at showroom when browsing or when I went to collect the car (maybe it was day-time, or was unlocked?).

Anything to worry about (eg. drain the battery)? The car started find this morning, by the way.

    Thanks

That red light is almost certainly to show that the car's alarm or immobiliser is on.

For my G model I don't see any blinking red light. For car, red light showingmeans some kind of warning. Please take care and monitor it. If come back again should sent to the workshop for diagnostic check.

Tan,,, you mean use L gear?

yes "L". Even now for vezel I also used the "L" when I have full load going up/down slope.

I used it to check that the car is locked, since touching the door handle will unlock the car again [laugh]

Anyone putting rustproofing or soundproofing in the wheel arch? Is it a good idea? Saw it has painted body parts there and Honda tend to have very thin paints.

    Any recommendations for insurance?

during my paint protection i found out that Honda and subaru have the thinnest paints in the market

    abt 86 microns thick

Which is typical of Japanese cars- ranging from 80+ microns to 90 microns

continental car usually have thicker paint coating like say 90++micron to 109 microns

thicker paint better to polish than thinner paint

    that's why need paint protection

Bro u can pm me for lobang for insurance if u are interested

Thank you to those who checked for me. My son also figured that to be the case, after checking online through google and other user's comments.

I couldn't take a picture as it only appears after you lock the door; daytime also cannot see! from the driver's window, the angle also very difficult to take clear picture.

I think the OMV is determine by how much the PI declare on the value of the car when they imported it in. If the car is equipped with leather seat, car accessories, body kit, ... and many more from japan, naturally the import value of the car will be higher and so translate to higher omv.
Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Ideally buyer should insistthe seller towrite it down and state "1-bid guarantee COE" base on thecoming nextCOE without any cap. To me this then represent "1-bid guarantee COE". If not, like what you state who knows when and only they know. So to safe guard buyer,we shouldstate more explicitly.

    Seller usually state,

    • base on delivery date which will stretch from 2mths to 3mths
    • base on LTA inspection (I find this as a very lament excuse, in my personal opinions)
    • all else fail, tell you no deal at the end of allthe wait

    Just my personal view. :)

This is my review of the Vezel (G model), after driving it for 3 days:

I was first struck by the Vezal's stylish exterior - the 'smiling' front grille, the broad rear and the all-round black trim. The front-to-back silhouette, peaking with the 'mini spoiler', is also visually pleasing and highly comparable to similar SUVs out there. The 'hidden' rear door handles add to the Vezel's sporty outlook.
The car interior is generous and provide passengers a 'roomy' feel. The easy fold-down seats and spacious boot are big pluses for those with adventurous streaks or bulky items to transport. There are lots of cup & bottle holders provided as well.
Although the cabin could be better insulated, the 1.5cc engine purrs along nicely and gives the required amount of power and surge needed when driving off, over-taking or coasting along at speed. The drive feels smooth and 'light' yet powerful!
The specified fuel consumption rate of 20km/l could be a challenge given our road and traffic conditions. However, with the eco-drive feature and auto-stop functions factory-installed, there is nothing to stop owners (especially if we practice good driving habits) from trying to attain it.
This is my first experience driving an SUV, let alone owning one, having all the while driven saloon or MPVs. However, all except one, of the 4 previous cars that I owned have been Hondas, so you know where my preferences lie!
Overall, my verdict is that it has indeed earned it's tag as a compact, utility vehicle. And as another of our bros in the forum shared, "it has road presence, may not be as big and stout as other SUVs but it's small and nimble"!

1 bid guarantee by a $2 sole proprietor lor... any problem look for Lau Ah Beng last seen in northen chiangmai LOL

Volks auto is $200,000 paid up capital private limited.

to be do a proper fraud, one would not use a sole proprietor. A sole proprietor means u have 100% legal liabilities to your business. and its not $2. Its every single cent to your personal name. A fraudster using sole proprietor to do fraud has to be the stupidest idiot in singapore.

whereas a private limited is restricted to the the paid up capital liabilities, subject to legality of course.

since they started selling in august (their showroom is quite new, understandable why they only started selling recently), i hope the first batch of customers who collect the cars soon will write feedbacks in this thread =)

share with us any good or bad remarks.. if good, i will definitely support volks for being competitive with the pricing.

I don't have enough points to praise you. Thanks for the short review. Enjoy your ride.. [thumbsup]

Pat62, I guess it would be much easier on them to handle one or two at a time.

Handling a group buy requires huge amount of money upfront and probably risky too.

Going to commit on a Vezel X soon, need some advice since this is the first SUV and PI for me.

    1. Can Vezel fit a 18 rim? Looking at 215/45/R18, but not too sure if the tire is too thin for a SUV

    2. Where can I install the volume buttons on the left size of the steering wheel that complement the cruise control on the right?(SE doesnt seem to be comfortable to install for me, worried that the workmanship might not be good)

    3. Where can I install the electronic folding side mirrors?

    4. Anyone in this forum here going to install USB ports beside the cigarettes lighter? saw in the catalog, but not in the display car. Will be good to charge mobile phone without a car adaptor.

    5. Anyone managed to get the tonneau cover?

    6. If the tire repair kit is being used on a punctured tire, does it mean I will have to buy a new tire and the puncture tire cannot be patched?

Is it normal for PI to ask for the rest of the 40% when the car reached our shore?

I was quoted 10% + 10K to book, and the rest of the 40% when car reached our shore.

    Thanks in advance J

Hi Tan, Indeed the pressure a bit low, I always pump 230/210 at my Honda Jazz to achieve better fuel consumption..

From my guess is that the Vezel is not so heavy, but u can always pump higher.. Another concern is the suspension, I also suspect that Honda recommended lower, might due to the suspension is a bit hard side, this is also what I read from the reviews before.. Maybe u can give us ur opinion on that?

Actually , the audio steering control is an optional part.
Can be add-on anytime. Just remove the blank cap n fix a one with buttons onto it.
Probably yr PI/SE did not indent it to minimise cost.

Luckily help to indent and going to fix on S model :)
I meant my car dealer :)

So, we have to indent the items from Japan or can it be bought locally? and which local company carries & does this?

Someone in the earlier thread mentioned Thian Seng Motor; do they do it?

Thanks, I think quite a number of Vezel owners interested in installing the audio switch. So can you check with them the price so that we may arrange a group buy! [thumbsup]

anybody has collected their rides from volks auto??? their pricing seems most attractive...........
but it seems almost impossible to be that cheap, I mean I checked on the brand new price of vezel in japan & applying sgp import tax + COE....
almost selling at a loss which is impossible for them right??
