Anyone tried 18 inch rim here before? Any issue on road or turning?

I love my 18" rims - 225/45/18. Minimal impact to pick up/acceleration in my opinion. Impact to fuel consumption is also minimal! There is no increase in FC for me.

Larger rims just make the M3 look so much sportier.

Hi bro, I installed 18" rims on my ride. No issues on turning. However I find that the BBK I installed shortens my braking distance. There was s bus that cut into my lane suddenly and the brakes saved me from potential accident. Can feel the diff having more Pistons(4) but 6 pot is an overkill for 1.5L.

Yeah bbk is too much for a 1.5cc car. So the best solution get a rim with more spooks. For ur case good choice cos u can show off ur bbk. But i wanna spend on ice, so decide to go with 18 inch and the rest on amp and woofer. But will cfm with mazda if warranty will be void. If yes then plan canceled. Even led scuff plate i also dont dare to install.

BKK is not too much for a 1.5. Its for safety with shorter braking distance.

As for the ICE, they will confirm tell you will void warranty.

Actually BBK is not too much. It's for safety. In emergencies even bit of brake power helps especially if there is greater momentum. For our 1.5L car 4 pot front wheels is enough. If you go for 8 pot front and back then it's overkill.

ICE adds a lot of weight to your car, plus be prepared to spend $ on it. Some guys I know tell me that it's a bottomless pit. One of the car workshop boss shared that some people spend so much on ICE that it almost equals to the price they pay for a car. But as long as it brings a smile to your face , just do it! That's my belief.

Basic is enough. Amp underseat sub woofer and 4 speakers. Plus sound proofing for 4 doors. Good enough. 1k plus can settle.

I am wondering if i should remove the weight of the spare tyre and replace with the can-tyre repair kit.. So far in my years of driving, only get to use 2 or 3 times only... The weight savings is quite significant.

IMHO, I think Petronas fuel is better than Shell in MY.

And removal of the spare tire will seriously offset the balance of the car.
If u insist, measure that weight and remove an equal amount from the front as well.
Trial and error la ... depends on how hard you turn at corners.

    I am a FOCAL / JMLAB fan too for > 20 years ...
Love love love your bass setup ...

I think 4 pot front is dead serious good liao ... by default, our brakes are very effective le ...
After driving the car for > 1 year, I can feel the brake fuel losing its properties though ... kind of soft compared to its 1st day.

    What size bro? Sounds expensive.

Brothers & Sister, yesterday i met an small accident in a carpark. Not really a big hoo-ha. A white prius reverse and hit my front left bumper. Fortunately only headlight washer cap fell off. No much physical damage, probably very small scratches which can be polish off easily. Driver was an old couple. They were not aware i was behind him (despite several mickey mouse horns). I came out of the car and confronted him after he head into a parking lot. Here comes the **interesting** part.

    "????sorry. ???" ** insert smiley face **

    Honestly, I was not gg to pursue this matter. The fact here;

    1. He was trying to walk away
    2. He knew he knocked into me but pretended he doesn't
    3. Gave me a wrong telephone number (eventually my partner took his mobile and got hold of the correct number)
    4. He was reluctant to give his particular and kept repeating " ????Uncle???,??? "

Of course, I was holding on the traffic, I have to leave the **CRIME SCENE**. Note that all pictures were taken. In-car camera manage to record and capture his face with him saying " ????Uncle??? "
I manage to get hold of him 15mins later, but he was trying to fend me away... still being reluctant to provide his details. Being really kind and calm, i accepted his request by giving him a call back at 9pm in the evening.. BUT~~~~~~~~~~~~~ phone line was engage till now!!!

Here's the question, if I submit all this information to LTA or report to insurance or police station within 24hrs, will they be able to track this driver down?

As mentioned by u, u already have all the necessary proofs like videos, photos etc. So 100% u will win this case i suppose.

Within 24 hours, inform your insurer. This is MANDATORY whether big or small case, planning to claim or not, private settlement or not. I repeat, MANDATORY!
This is to prevent cases whereby now the uncle claim u instead as you are behind him. This will involves lawyer to help fight your case if it becomes complicated.

My suggestion, send the uncle and sms and whatsapp to inform him to settle within certain time else you will file in a claim. (Pls note, filing in a claim is different from informing your insurer. I repeat again, must inform your insurer no matter u plan to file in a claim or not. Its 2 separate issue.). If he don't reply, go do a claim against him. He asked for it!

If you have video evidence and claiming the other party insurance and sending your car to outside workshop, should be no problem. Workshop knows what to do and will settle for u without touching your insurance.

If you are sending your car to AD for repair, I am not so sure. I hear AD workshops usually play very safe (for themselves) and will ask you to claim from your own insurance first.

I think there is no need to submit anything to LTA, they don't handle accidents.

Report to insurance if you wanna claim.

    Hi Columbian,

i happen to send my car for 5k svc this friday. Iam hoping mazda could "lend a hand" to fix the cap back with no extra charge.

You MUST get the other's party IC details or snap a photo of his IC. I ever was in a situation likes yours and i couldn't do anything cause the fella refuse to show me his IC and i LL. [bigcry][thumbsdown]:a-bang:

    Hi Eddhooi,

Things would get easier if he "coorporate". I reckon sms or whatsapp is useless. Nonetheless, i will do it to keep a record.

My thoughts were the same. Let's say i decide to claim his insurance (repair + loss of usage etc...), i reckon his children will come into his defence. Then it will become more complicated.

If u file in a claim, the uncle don't have to do anything. Neither does his children need to.
All will be taken care by the insurance company of his and yours.

What will happen is next year his insurance premium will go up. That's all will happen.

Nice wheels, bro. How long does it take you to clean each wheel? All the spokes :p

Honestly, 5 seconds each rim. Serious.
The rims were protected by CeramicPro before fixing on. Just spray water. Actually, dirt does not stick to it. It is already 11mths old.

Not fair to compare with stock because it is very different profile.
With the drastically lower side-wall height, it's noticeably a harder ride and noiser. But my wife and i are perfect fine with it. It doesn't bother us.

Quote from my friend encounter( ramp from rear by lorry): traffic police was call in due man dun want To show Ic; it's everyone rights not to show IC due to address sensitivity, etc. you can ask for name and contact will suffix . Take a picture and report to insurance company. If you gonna do a claim. Workshop will handle the rest like owner tracing, thru LTA, for a fee around $10. The TP job is there to take a note of the incident and verify the man with a valid driving lisence, drink driving and so on.

Based on experience, photos will do.

1, My car stopped stationary for at least 10 secs at trafgic light. Suddenly car bang me from behind. The driver came down apologize and we took some photos and move off. No hp number and name exchanged. Claim done.

2, My car parked in carpark and when i collect my car, it was hit. The driver whom banged my car left a note with gis contact number and car number plate. I called him and he told me to claim his insurance. So i only got his hp number, name, car number plate and photos of my car only. Claim done.

... There's a few more incidents. But was either private settlement or with all necessary details. So no point sharing.

Anyway most importantly is to inform your insurer of an accident. Whether to file for claim or private settlement also have to inform.

Here's the question, if I submit all this information to LTA or report to insurance or police station within 24hrs, will they be able to track this driver down?

Since he so nasty, no point u being mr. Nice guy.

Reminds me of my own incident

Uncle did a wide turn and knock into front bumper on 2nd day of New year and drove off.

Shortly after found the same car in the carpark with video cam evidence the whole front bumper shook in footage

Giving them the benefit of doubt - went to confront the owner by coincidence but refuse to admit his fault on the scratch on the lip of the bumper; only acknowledge the paint trade on the lip and refuse to compensate accordingly for the down time of the car when it is under repaired.

Last resort : Went ahead and filed a hit and run with the police as the person technically drove off without leaving details and in denial of fault.

Went down to AD on next working day to have it checked out - onwards to a long and tedious insurance claiming process after surveyor took some pictures on the wednesday that just passed.

Any advice to handle this matter better or did i do the right thing...

Attached picture to keep this long post interesting. hahaha

Sorry but i don't get your story...
He admitted something, but doesn't acknowledge something...
He refuses to compensate for downtime of the car, but did he pay for the repair?

He offered to compensate the paint removal but refuse to acknowledge the scratch.

He did not pay for the damages

    Hi guys
Any recommendation for iphone holder in Mazda 3?
With pics to give a good illustrative example
Currently not sure what holder will suit best, prefer not to stick on windscreen

Hope your footages are able to proof he is the culprit. Else u will end up claiming your own insurance.

Sometime if 50-50 chance, take whatever money u can and move on.

Just send in my ride for 1k servicing. They OK with oil change wor and was talking to the mechanic on this. Although they say mazda uses synthetic oil and can last till 10k but is still OK to change.

Only thing is need to pay 100 plus for this.

    Hur..... :slow:

I send my Biante for 1k servicing last week and they said 1K & 5k no change of engine oil.

They only check to ensure all system run smoothly.

Oil change only at 10k .. :wut:

Its show that Mazda workshop does not have astandard SOP .. :a-aggressive:
