Thank you. It seems like not all of the owners encounter the issue. Among the Japanese makers, Mazda impresses me most, being the build, style, quality and engineering. Hope the Mazda can resolve this issue on the facelifted model.

As posted previously, I reported it during the first service and there's no sound now.
rain these 2 days, no hear anything... which suspension no sound?
not an issue.

my 3SP version, run it dry everytank for 8 yrs, 580 to 600km every thank for a 55L tanks. Reserve Tank was 10L then
Pump all ok.

New 3, er... haven figure out what is the reserve tank, i believe it should be 10L as well. cos when pump light came on, fuel display will show 2 bar left. i think can easily drive more than 100km as i only top up 41L when top up

Dun look for me if u run out of fuel!! do ur own checks pls
But what happens to the hud after the tank runs into reserve? I like to try it out. Mine has around 20km range to reserve. My 2 has reserve around 5+ L
Mine has no such issue from the start or at least I dun feel so. Perfectly normal going over humps, ride abit bumpy timesthough coz I pumped maximum air pressure in all 4 tires. All in all, a good and comfortable drive and I think the pickup from stationery is excellent, every time I'm first in line at traffic lights beside a new altis, I'm the faster one off the blocks lol. But I do miss my old car which is much more fun and engaging, better handling too.

do they carry Mazda accessories?
Since last COE bidding on 23 July, which saw another 3.5k drop in Cat A, Mazda Motors has initially dropped $2k on 24 July but subsequently increased $1k on 28 Jul, another $1k on 31 Jul and just yesterday (3 Aug) yet another $2k (total increased $4k)... Any theories on in creeping price in view of the dropping COE trend?

My own theory is that Mazda Mortor is beefing up its profit margin since they have made enough sales in the last 1 - 2 months and have to digest the order. My own order is amongst 1 of the 70 unused COE (i.e. $1 short) and my personal guess is that Mazda's order probably comprised a large part (if not all) of that 70 unsuccessful bid of $25,888.

any news of the freebies which come at $103,888?

back in may, when the standard was selling around $106,888, there was a period when standard started coming with the aftermarket screen for free. so ultimately the cost difference might not be that great. was told that to add on, it is $1,888.
Btw, side track.. Do u all know our M3 is considered a micro hybrid? We should be able to park hybrid lots in certain shopping centre carparks ie bugis junction, city square, westgate. Lol..

But, for original parts it would have as Mazda 3 Malaysia is CKD. Assembled in BMW's plant if I am not wrong.

Here is an interesting link:

Seems like it does not have the sun roof, i-Eloop, i-Stop.

But it has a very useful feature which would help us the bumper-to-bumper accident, side-swipe: Smart City Brake System (autonomous braking, 4-30 km/h), Rear Vehicle Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning.

True, but still it is a fraction of the cost you are paying for the ordinary 98 in Singapore. But when you factor in the coming Malaysian VEP, the savings would be lesser.

Seems like both sides are playing wayang. Both are hard-up for money, to compensate for the deficits. Thus, squeeze car owners till they bleed dry.

You need to look also at the pricing of other makes in the same category, like Nissan Sylphy, Toyota Altis, etc.

They are also not dropping the price much, and fluctuations are there.

I have a feeling they may know or suspect something we don't. The government has said that it intends to reduce the high fluctuations, as well as introduce 0% increase in car population. Knowing Singapore gov't. It will not say something it has not intended to implement.

So should the COE drop below 50k, something could be done, especially if it after the elections. Should that happen, the profit margin accumulated now, would come in useful for future businesses. The fluctuations are also not good for car dealerships. Lean times would see many SEs out of job.

Good pt. Though I would think as long as the COE is a free bidding system fluctuations are expected because it is very difficult to regulate market sentiments - people are not always rational and wild speculations may throw off a normal market reaction. Of all we know, now there are already so much pent up demands that the COE is just waiting to sky rocket again, but just that there are many who think the prices haven't hit rock bottom and all waiting to enter the market later. I particularly think that if and when the COE price breech below $50k the mob will rush in and the COE prices will rebounce rapidly.

Hello! All Mazda 3 owners, good morning! May I ask if you encounter/hear a higher pitch 'whining' sound at speeds between 60km/hr to 63km/hr?

I asked this because almost everyone whom sat in my car told me that there is this 'aeroplane' sound. At first, I thought it was just me. Then when friends and relatives told me they also heard it, I tried to find out the speed of the car when the sound is the most obvious or 'loudest'.

- Does doing sound insulation helps?
- Has anyone managed to reduce the sound level?

I intend to highlight this problem when I send in the car for the 20K servicing. Not sure if TE will be able to solve or at least reduce the noise level. Previously they did a good job when I highlighted about a 'knocking' sound from the front wheels of the car when it goes over humps. Till now there is no recurrence.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Hello! All Mazda 3 owners, good morning! Since my posting in June about the noise issue, I am happy to update that it has been resolved.

Highlighted this noise issue during the scheduled servicing, turns out that the transmission is the problem and it needs to be replaced. Kudos to the service team in Mazda Ubi for accurately diagnosing the problem and rectifying it. With the new transmission, the car feels like it has been given a new lease of life. The high pitch 'whining' sound is gone when reaching speeds of 60 km/hr to 63 km/hr.

Some additional things to share:
1. The Transmission (I reckon it is the Auto Transmission Assembly) needs to be ordered from Japan and it takes about 3 weeks to arrive.

2. The replacement job took about 2 days. I sent in the car in Monday morning and the following day at around 2pm, it is ready for collection. Please note your experience may differ.

3. Since the car is still under warranty, the whole transmission replacement was covered by TE.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Regarding the suspension noise when going over humps one rainy days, has any owners of Mazda 3 got it resolved?

I am planning to raise it during 20k svc. If you don't mind me asking, which batch is your car or when was your car registered?

I am planning to raise it during 20k svc. If you don't mind me asking, which batch is your car or when was your car registered?

Its not just rainy days. Most of us who complain about it during servicing. The chief mechanic will take you for a test drive to confirm the noise. Then they will check. For mine, they replaced the stopper and the noise disappeared.

I am not an owner but I have marked Mazda 3 highly in my list. Took a test drive today and felt impressed by the build and how it drives. One thing I did notice when going over big humps was a light clicking sound can be heard. Other than that the drive was great.

Mine was replaced during 1k svc. No more sound thereafter when dry. But, when its wet, or driving in the rain, going thro the humps, the 'clanking' sound will appear. The sound is different. Sounded like stiff spring creaking.
Congrats to bros who got theirs. Got mine too. Checked my bidding status mazda motors initially bidded 56888 for me, later revised upwards to 58929.. hope can collect car before 7th month...

your bidis at 59539?
They probably bid in batches according to which cars they want to delivers first (higher price for those then). I bought M3 standard at 99,888 on their 30th anniversary promotion weekend - I think it was 11 July. What was your bidding price, looks like they more determined to give you your car. Doesn't matter though - eventually we all get at the same COE price.

For mine they did not test drive. I just reported, said they'll check, no questions. Seems like they're fixing it as they come.
Noticed this batch there are only 1 unused Cat A COE? That probably means there isn't one whole big batch of bids that were submitted at same price but stuck at the cut-off. Last round was 70 and I noticed a few bros from this forum tread (including myself) all said they didn't get because missed by $1, meaning Eurokars probably missed out on a very large batch of their bid last round so they make up by going more aggresive this round - seeing from the comments the bidding price is a couple thousands higher than the closing price. They need to clear their orders..

if i knew there's after market infotainment, i may not have bought the deluxe model...
but i dont think i can buy cruise control or 2 additional airbags from TB
if im not mistaken, the differences btw standard and deluxe are:

i've thought hard about the 7k, and didn't opt for it in the end. because i only want some of these features, and i would be forced to take some things that i know i'll never use (cruise control being one). it didn't justify the premium to me (this is subjective).

when it comes to OMV, the difference is between $15,400 and $17,100, a difference of $1,700 which at the 10-year mark will be almost negligible, especially after factoring how CEVS eats into the 50% ARF.

it's $3400++ more as the car dealer also need to pay 100% ARF and 7% GST,? so dealer still make additional $3500++

I think it serves two purpose:
provide a small bit of shade like the dark grey strip at the top of the front windshield
direct water away from the cabin/door when it's raining.
I went test drive M3 2.0 today. Currently its selling $124,888. Still deciding whether to get sedan or hatch. Hatch comes with "free" bodykit while sedan only comes with duck lip. Normally how much can one "bargain" or ask for discount?
Ask for servicing credits, petrol vouchers, car camera, solar film, 3m car mat.
If got car to trade in, request for 3k over trade.
If u got car to trade in, probably another 2k or so..

No car to trade in bro...

Depends on whether you think you need a larger boot volume or need to carry large-sized objects.
A hatchback is able to load larger items but the Mazda3 sedan has a larger boot volume.

Sedan is also longer, so the hatchback is a little bit more wieldy in small spaces.
Generally, sedan is easier to park than hatch although hatch is shorter. This is due to big kar chng which you can use it to judge.

There's also less chance of smashing the rear windscreen on a sedan than a hatch.

Hatch boot is smaller, but more versatile than sedan.

Hatch looks sportier than sedan.

never a fan of hatchback..even if the price is the same for HB and Sedan, i will still take the sedan....

one thing that i hate about M3 sedan is the read bumper...they hide the twin exhaust pipes..WTF?
I have a question .. not too sure if its true.. but many have been saying sedan is safer when it comes to rear crash compare to hatchback. So is this myth true?

It's a very old thinking... when your parents' generation thought that having more metal between you and the other car would make things safer.

In reality, rear crash safety depends on the crumple zones and how the chassis is designed to absorb impact. If the force of the crash can be evenly distributed around the car, there's little reason why the hatch would be any less safe.

The Mazda 3 hatcback got NCAP 5 stars too...

Agree, the crumple zone and design are impt factors

Arguably the safest car, the one with perfect score is the Volvo V40, its a hatchback
any M3 hatch user around to chip in their opinion?
hatch normally higher price than sedan, omv higher too of course
any M3 hatch user around to chip in their opinion?

It depends on what you are after.
I like my hatchback because it has a bigger opening. and when you fold the rear seat down, you'll can carry more than sedan. Hence the versatility.

In terms of parking, easier to judge than sedan. C

Less metal to clean and aesthetically i feel the hatch look much better than sedan. (MPS is only in hatch).
thanks for all the comments. think i have my heart set to hatch now.

Ya deluxe version has reverse cam from factory.
Solar film is standard from eurokars.
The rest u have to ask from SE

So good! My SE only gave me 3m mats zzzz
thanks for all the comments. think i have my heart set to hatch now.

btw, the agent ask me not to change rim as will void insurance? what if declare or inform the insurance comp after change rim?

oh, also any freebies agent will usually provide? solar film, car matt, in car camera? the reverse cam comes with the car by default right?
insurance from AIG right? how come will void?

i only know da and ava ever try to void claims
Seriously.. Nothing is free. Take everything out and for the same price you can get better stuff outside. How to do it.. Fix a final lowest price.. Then slowly take out the freebies and as for further discount. I am quite sure you can drop the price by another 300 to 500.Called my SE. He say will give in car camera, solar film and floor matt. I think the solar film is about 200 to 300..which are entry films. I did ask for better premium ones but they says they only have that.

It depends on what you are after.
I like my hatchback because it has a bigger opening. and when you fold the rear seat down, you'll can carry more than sedan. Hence the versatility.

In terms of parking, easier to judge than sedan.
Less metal to clean and aesthetically i feel the hatch look much better than sedan. (MPS is only in hatch).
Exactly my thoughts too. Hatch is about the looks and the flexibility in the boot space. A bit like a small SUV if needed to be.one problem I do see is that the boot area is like a dust magnet.. I think when the car moves it creates a vacuum space at the rear.. My boot area and rear window are the dirtiest part..

actually to be fair to the insurer, if you use a replica china made rims...
and it broke off while you are travelling on the highway and you totalled the car...

is it then fair to the insurer?

just a thought....if im the underwriter, i think its unfair for them to pay out....

I have advan racing RZ in mind No offence but never fan of replica or taiwan
Fair is a word I won't use on insurers. They will surely have definitions on claims. Critical thing here is speed if the size differs from stock too much.

Im buying the rims from pte seller. Tyres to be purchased from tyres shop.
If u fit a regular tyre into the boot, your boot tray wil not be flat.

I saw a seller from MCF marketplace selling his rims and tyres for 880sgd. But u need to swap the tyres as its diff size frm m3.
215/50r17 fits m3

215/55r17 better...
215/50r17=> gap unless lower susp, speedo will show higher speed than actual

The mazda 6 rims are 7.517 vs 616..
The width of the rims bigger.
I mean mazda3 16" rims are 6.5*16. Vs mazda 6 7.5*17.
ET is the same.
Speedo error is less than 0.89%. 215 50 17 is the best fitting giving a wider rim
Im changing to mazda 6 17"
Actually, I dun mind original... Problem is the weight is normally heavier...

I'm surprise also. After confirm price and color, pass up IC, credit card and filling up the loan form, he come back telling me cannot proceed because he cannot enter the booking into the system. He offered silver (demo car) and red but bot are I only want white so cannot proceed lo.

It sounds like the manager cannot approve the deal or not willing to then SE cook up some story about paperwork etc. Go bang table then walk away lah...honestly I don't like it when somebody promise me something if I sign and don't deliver....I think it's not right.

The SE msg me just now say can deliver with additional 2K, say till like doing me favor, I was like WTF.... thank you but go find other Robert to chop..
Wasted to just forgo the car because of such a lame reason. Lol maybe the SE kena bua for commiting the body kit. Have you tried the other Mazda showroom? Try another SE and give them an ultimatum.

The RIKE COOL offered by EUROKARS is quite good really.
Im changing to mazda 6 17"

Heavy, no point change BUT look nicer lor ...

With wider rims and same ET, mount the 17" at the front and turn the steering fully and check for knocks.

I bought vezel...and cancelled my order....
Dealing with that PI sucks.

Mazda in general very unwilling to negotiate or give in to any requests recently. What you described was very special though.

My guess is they have one more unit of white left in the order for that shipment, and they will only sell to someone who is most desperate for it. The desperation will be reflected in that 2k.

Having dealt with PI and AD...
My opinion is AD wont nego much, but they deliver. What they promised, they give.
PI...say alot of things even put down est delivery June..and 6bids gtd no top up..but 6th round of coe without a single fkg 10sgd bid...
I bought the vezel at 106.888...2k higher than my maz3...

I believe Mazda is reaching their quota to get market share soon, hence the hard nego situation
Actually considering what other Bros bought their rides last few months, these prices are amazing (lower depre but less flexibility for changing car earlier due to lower equity, assuming 5 yr loan remains)
Good luck to your shopping, some mcf Bros felt that the election will bring goodies soon....

Maybe you are right... he did tell me there's one more white for sept shipment.

If anyone have any "trust worthy" Mazda SE to recommend please feel free to PM me, or at least their names so if I reconsider Mazda, I'll try to contact them.

they probably thought it's not worth it to honour a 106,888 deal and rather refund. i haven't seen such a price for vezel recently, if not i might well have bought one over a mazda 3.
