Just did my 1k servicing. Some useful information to share
1) servicing manager says wifi not supported by Mazda connect for v51
2) if you have any complaints on the solar film, must highlight when you book the appointment. If you highlight on the actual day, you need to wait until the next appointment (5k servicing)
3) you can only buy the Philips or Blaupunkt 7.0 dash camera. The Blaupunkt 2.0 is only available for bundle with new car. I did not push my SE for the camera because I was going to buy 2 camera version outside. In the end, due to warranty, I have to choose the models offered by transeurokar. My advise to potential buyers is to ask for the free camera and then decide later if you want or do outside.
4) they do some light cleaning for your car during the servicing.
5) there is free shuttle from ubi service centre to tai Seng mrt at 8.30am, 9am, 9.30am
6) a lot of people servicing their car so please remember to book at least 2 weeks in advance.
I have been to tan Chong service center. They offer light snacks, more variety in drinks than mazda ubi service center. Is the Mazda service center at leng kee better?

thanks for sharing experience.
may i ask when u bought it ,how is the "nice file with the quotation" like

Most important is that you should have the contract agreement that you signed with Eurokars that states carefully the price etc. The amount that you paid for the booking of the car i.e 10k should be stated clearly on the agreement. If you feel unsafe, can always ask SE for an official receipt but let's say if you paid by credit card, they should have given you the receipt from the credit card company.

i did signed the contract agreement with correct price. but i dun have the copy of it.
and i forgot to ask a receipt for deposit=.= yes i paid by credit card, so got a credit car slip. but that one doesn't stand for anything rite?

Get a copy of the contract agreement cos that's the most important liao. By right the SE should give you before you leave one, quite irresponsible leh. How can don't give people a copy of such an agreement that involves 6 digit amounts?

Tell the SE mail you one copy or a carbon copy of the original one that you signed.
2. It work 100% of the time. And everytime i start my car engine immediately.I have never put it to ACC mode (well i did for a few times only to open windows will waiting for someone).

I concur to putting the car to ACC mode when the engine is running by putting to neutral then off the engine.

1. Wifi Works. Just that the service supported by Wifi is for Connected Services only which has traffic updates for Malaysia only. I have it connected to Redmi 1S and Samsung S4. But 3 months warranty expire liao...so no use.

2. I stay in the East but so far go to Leng Kee for servicing cause appt is faster. They have light snacks and hot drinks (tea/coffee/Milo) but still way off compare to my previous ride (Renault)'s one.

Mine is getting 6.1L/100km after a bit more than 300km. Really impressed. My previous car civic hybrid was doing around 6.3L/100km. Mazda got better result even without a hybrid engine. How amazing are nowadays engine and gearbox technologies!

Hello! All Mazda 3 owners, good morning! May I ask if you encounter/hear a higher pitch 'whining' sound at speeds between 60km/hr to 63km/hr?

I asked this because almost everyone whom sat in my car told me that there is this 'aeroplane' sound. At first, I thought it was just me. Then when friends and relatives told me they also heard it, I tried to find out the speed of the car when the sound is the most obvious or 'loudest'.

- Does doing sound insulation helps?
- Has anyone managed to reduce the sound level?

I intend to highlight this problem when I send in the car for the 20K servicing. Not sure if TE will be able to solve or at least reduce the noise level. Previously they did a good job when I highlighted about a 'knocking' sound from the front wheels of the car when it goes over humps. Till now there is no recurrence.

Hi, maybe this is same as my old Mazda5. The volume setting is auto according to the speed of the car. Can read the radio manual to turn off the settings. Service Centre sure can help you.

I suspect the rubber trims at your car door have hardened or have gone old due to factors like heat or maybe Mazda using old rubber trims to fit in new cas. It really depends and I could be wrong as well cos I don't drive an M3 but I've heard of this similar problem in other makes and what they did was use leather moisturiser to solve this.

If it get louder when you are moving at high speed, it is like Bobby Tan say... automatic speed-based volume compensation... since the car noise outside get louder the radio also get louder so you can hear it better...

If it gets softer when you are going fast, it just means the car insulation no good... like mine, almost cannot hear the stereo at 100km/h

I think it is called Automatic Level Control (ALC). From ALC OFF to ALC Level 7 which is the maximum.

I am going to place my deposit for Mazda 3. Need to check the following and what bargain can I ask for.
1. Solar film - SE told me is in house brand. Any idea what brand is it? And is it good?
2. For off white beige interior leather seat, is it hard to maintain and will it get dirty easier?
3. Front and back camera - I was told they carry 2 brands. 1 is Philips and the other (I forgot the name). Which is better?
My SE can only throw in 1 freebie which is either solar film or camera. Which is more worth for me to choose?
Anybody tried hyper optik solar film before? Is it much better than other brands?
Sorry, this is my 1st time buying a car. Will appreciate any advice. Thanks

White beige interior leather seats are generally tougher to maintain and definitely easier to get stained etc. Need to clean frequently and apply some leather protection if you are really really keen.

Front & back camera can buy so many brands out there like Thinkware, Blackvue and iRoad. Do some research for a proper camera because they are important for any car. i'm using hyper optik solar film for my rear and side windscreens, so far so good and no complains. Can't comment on other brands cos no experience before with them.

Hope this helps.
Hope to check on the led daytime running light. When stunning it on I notice that only the angel eye is lighted.. Not the strip.. The one that run along horizontal in the front light
I asked mazda and they replied it it all the same for mazda 3 deluxe
But checking online u can see that the strip is clearly lighted up
Do you have same issue?

Your photo doesn't look clear. But it looks correct to me, the 'angel eye' as you call it (seen too many BMW?) should be illuminated. Also it looks like your horizontal strip is illuminated to me, but your photo is not clear. (Mazda will call the DRL their "light signature"... haha)

This is how it should be.

The 'halo' around the projector housing should be brighter than the optical pipe, I believe the internal design focuses most of the LED light source into the halo and the strip is just a periphery.

Maybe if you are really not sure, try driving into a dark area and set the headlamps on position lights (or side lights, or park lights, w/e you call it) see how the DRLs look.

Strip is only on after the car moving off about 3 sec, you can't see it when it's before moving off. You can only see if after you stop the car. You should be able to see off the reflection of car in front at traffic lights.

The in-house brand for solar film is Riki cool. Works great I think. The in-house camera the AD will do the wiring for you, so if you want to change camera without voiding the warranty, better get the camera.
Thanks tycokia and estherlui for replying!

Hi

1. I cannot remember which brand mine is, but I think basically all does the job. Remember to ask whether it covers the sunroof too...lol
2. Personally I do not like black but then off-white is really too difficult to maintain and also need to worry about marks etc when other passengers go to the back seat
3. The other is Blaupunkt 2.0. I think the Phillips one is more ex but if it is included, maybe Philips. Mine is Blaupunkt though cause no choice.

Try to get both (I got both) but if must choose, personally I will go for Solar Film. Camera can easily and quickly be fixed later

Frankly since the solar film is in house, no cost incurred for the SE. Front camera is also not really expensive. So I just wonder why the SE not giving you both. All the other car AD normally gave both. Anyway better to get the front camera due to the wiring as installing outside may void the car warranty. Tell the SE gave you both and you will recommend customer to her.
Do most people just install with Mazda or don't mind getting the warranty void?
Just to update. Received info from SE that the 1 bid is for current stock of black and blue reflex M3... The rest of the colour will need to wait till after mid Jul and additional 5k from current price.

However, if you take the 6 bids non-guaranteed, it will be current promotion price.

But if you take existing stocks and can only register after July due to non-guaranteed COE. You will be subjected to the CEVS penalty where the rebate drops from $10k to $5k..

Meaning yes, its current promotional price but top up $5k if your COE can only be secured from July onwards.

Is it true that for upgrade of front camera cost $600 from the basic car blac??? (dun know how to spell) to a higher end model... I find the price quite shocking since the wiring and etc are all done. Might as well dun upgrade, and just use the connections for an after market model like Morabella.

Any idea for the price of $111,888 for deluxe sedan with 1 bid COE guarantee a good buy? This price has already discounted with the anniversary promo rebate of $5000, ex stock $5000 etc etc... My SE will throw in free servicing 3 years, solar film, and free mat. Anything I can still bargain?

Wah bro...my previous Civic also had the exact same problems that you had. Wonderful engine and gearbox! Lasted me 370k milleage with no overhaul and still very quiet but I serviced it well also I guess. Personally, as long as you get a good reputable brand & not just cheap china made ones and proper installation. This is not rocket science.

but i still took the plunge and book the basic model...

May i know where can i ge the foam? self installed? or via workshop?
I gotten it from my car audio shop since its only 80 bucks..think someone posted he diy.
1) the rikecool solar film is really good.
2) iroad 7 has some issues with overnight recording.. It does not stop.. Unlike aome brands which only record when they detect movement.not sure fixed already or not.

Not sure abt iRoad 7, i am using the wifi mdl, there's sw setting for that. Plus, now, sw also allow for voltage cutoff too. so far, quite good.

yeah, posted the diy sometime back. bgt online (< US 100, can't recall exact). Enough for whole car... ie Bonnet, wheel arch, boot and front foot-well as well as lower half of doors.

I just did a software upgrade yesterday for Iroad 7. Still cannot select "motion" alone. "Parking" and "motion" must still be select together.

But I notice this morning my cam still recording (at least 10 hours)....normally it will stop recording after few hours due voltage pre-set at 12.3V.
Anyone noticed the head lights look like... Lol.

Thanks for the nice image... is that normal ?

The horizontal line running across the round angel light... that look weird to me..

doesn't make it an Opel car logo of sort.....
Maybe any1 who are currently driving the Mazda Deluxe version can share....
collecting ride soon...so will like to confirm if lighting is normal?

For those bro and sis out there, do remember to download the MCF new car collection checklist... very cool!

Off white will be super hard to maintain. Imagine what kind of stains it will attract. Milo stains, or simply one's backside is dirty.. stains here and everywhere..

Just got back from a long trip to Cameron, PJ and Melaka.

If ever the off white seats would get dirty it would be on such a long trip. Yes it did, for mine. But no worry. I use Turtle Wax Lux leather cleaner and conditioner, which comes In a green spray bottle. Just spray and wipe with a clean soft cloth - Presto! All clean.

But the floor still needed vacuuming. The heavy rain, on and off actually clean the body ( mine's white ) quite well. Does not appear as dirty as my previous grey Mazda, surprisingly. At 100km ( 10km lower due to rain ) it is like going through a car wash.
Btw is the leather the kind where there's a anti stain coating?

Anti-stain coating must be sell applied, or at polishing centres. Yes it is good to have that, but it will still collect dirt. That's when you have to remove it. There are lot of cleaning spray available. The seats are not real 100% leather. So just don't rub too hard.

Real leather comes only in very high end cars, and vintage cars. In our weather, they crack if not well taken care of.

Anyway, don't worry too much. Worse comes to worse, you can get them re-upholstered, or the cheaper tailor-made leather covers. They are quite good, if not as good or better than the originals.

Yes the engine is quite loud compared to Nissan or Toyota, but when you are running at 110km/h, and need to outrun the car behind you or overtake a bus or lorry running at the same speed, the pressing on the accelerator gave a roaring sound, and a spurt to 140km/h in just a short time! It feels great!

Never thought a 1.5l engine could perform like a 2.0. You must really try that along the NS highway.
Now, have to check with JPJ in case got a summon! lol.

The leather seats on my current car has a glossy coating that works well to keep liquids out. Under the leather you could see a canvas layer.
Guys, any news about the Face-lift version coming this year?
Thinking of changing rims from stock to 17", was wondering if that would have any effect on warranty?
You should also worry about your car insurance. Some insurance companies will void your car insurance after accident if you change your rims.

It's like the old Mazda 3. Now the seats have pock holes, for ventilation in our hot climate and on long drives. Also, because of the many drink holders, very seldom do people spill drinks on the seats. Even if that happens, just dab it away. Always remember, the car is your slave, not the other way round.

A colleague though, long time ago had mutton soup all over his boot floor, because the plastic bag broke. For monthshe had to bear with the smell of stale mutton soup, despite having the car cleaned. So a boot protective mat, and a collapsible plastic pail, would be good to have in the boot for storing food with soup, or fish, prawn and crabs during transportation.
Guys, any news about the Face-lift version coming this year?

Chances are, the facelift would have LED rear and brake lights, some skirting, like the original Mazda 3. A change of front grill perhaps. But like the old Mazda 3 ( now many are still running ), the original may still look better. The front grill with the chrome part, is perhaps the worst in looks. From far, like Proton Gen 2.
You should also worry about your car insurance. Some insurance companies will void your car insurance after accident if you change your rims.

Very true. They will find reasons not to cover you. We are at their mercy, because of the law. Logically they would have to prove that the change in rim size caused the accident, to void the cover. Instead, they rely on the clause that any modification must be made known to them etc...etc. So much for creativity!

I will look nicer, as the wheel space would look more appropriate. But you need to be aware of the effect on the speedometer. It will show theaccurate speed. Car speedometers usually show a little higher than your actual speed. Also, will have to change your spare <--- This is usually forgotten until there is an emergency.
In my previous car, I do away with the spare, to cut down on weight. Instead I had two cans of tyre-puncture repair. The fuel consumption of the previous Mazda 3 is rather high.

With the number of non original rim size out there, it's more like cashing in on the trend! But the wheel size error factor is justifiable enough. I usually stay within 1% error. I guess some don't car when sizing up and the ins co can easily say that the driver was speeding.

Hi guys, any idea how to mend this scratch from my soul red mazda 3 without breaking my wallet at a workshop? The scratch is about 2cm long and is quite deep for the middle part.

Thanks in advance!
I encountered the same fate as you and unfortunately there is no easy way to resolve this scratch. It has to be plastered and resprayed the entire panel.

So far, just slightly above 140. Dared not go faster as peak season ( school holidays ) JPJ and police are more active.
The cut off, if there shouldbe one, would be at 185km/h, as that is the quoted max speed.

But to do that, need to go to Sepang. Just not safe on the highways.

If you are adventurous, you can try the Sinai - Desaru highway. You can go to it direct from 2nd link, or almost Tiram if by causeway. The highway is double lanes, and usually quite empty on weekdays.

Haven't heard of any tweaks to the gearbox and iStop. What are they? Perhaps from the early times ( 2012 ) when they had Skyactiv for the earlier models with that Joker's smile. Here, that model still use the old engine.

I don't think any facelift would be much nicer. Just enhancements here and there, enough to differentiate it from the earlier model.

If the camera is installed with special wiring, yes. If you use the plug into the power point, it should not invalidate the guarantee or insurance.

Korean cars usually come with impressive features. It used to be the 1.6 would have features you find in 2.0 Japanese cars.

That is the attraction of Korean cars. But from my experience with Hyundai and Kia, I would still go for Japanese.

Many taxi drivers are also complaining about their new Hyundai. Fast no doubt, but not as hardy as the old Toyotas.

But then they are giving 5 year guarantee. After that 5 years could be very expensive to maintain.

wow, getting close to my buying price.

Justenjoy your ride and forget about the price. Also, if the price falls, it means if you trade in your old car now, you would not get the price you had the last time.

My FC is higher, because I switch off the iStop, when there is a congestion or heavy traffic.

My sympathy. The soul red really looks good, but my experience with red car told me not to choose that.

The reply earlier was correct. For a deep scratch, you just have to get it re-sprayed.

The alternative is, since it is small, you can place a personalized decal to cover it, if it looks nice. Sort of identify your car from the rest. Then wait till you get more scratches ( as most red cars will ), then go for a re-spray.

Don't use the touch-up paint. It will look worse.

bro. this looks purposely done to your car... any ideas how this happened? doesn't look like an accident at all

There are many evil and envious people out there. Somehow the colour red seems to make them see red.

My one and only red car had a long scratch just 3 days after collecting. It was parked properly at SGH. Not even the neighbourhood. Since then I stayed away from red for cars.

If it spots a new registration number, it would be worse. That's why if your old number looks good, keep it. Lorry, van and bus driverseven, assume you would give way to them as not to damage your car. Thus the bullying on the road.

The only way to fight back is to have cameras. Preferably, one that can rotate to catch a picture of the driver in the next lane. Why do you think such drivers and some taxis fixed window curtain? Isn't their solar film good enough? Usually female drivers get bullied, ............. but I have had my share of aggressive female drivers too! lol.

According to the specs, the max is 185. But I agree it wouldbe pushing the car too much. Frontabsorbers for my Mazda 3SP had been changed 2 times, which I suspect was due to the car's weight. This one is comparatively light. They should last longer, but still would need changing depending on the usage. The highway has been resurfaced in several areas, perhaps to prepare for the high traffic volume during the Hari Raya. So not too strenuous for the absorbers. No hard braking too.

At 140 it is quite stable and surprisingly, has enough power to do more ( the way I felt it ), as it was not straining. The steering is rather light though, unlike the 3SP.

It feels stable ( perhaps because of the extra weight of 3 passengers), and the traction control helps in the cornering.

Of course I did not travel at that speed for too long, just for about 15 minutes and in spurts when necessary, to know the feel. My verdict: Not at all disappointing in the power area. Quite comfortable, although rear passenger area is a bit cramped. Luggage ( 4 cabin size bags ) could be accommodated easily + a plastic container for my odds and ends for the car. Nice car to travel up north.

Parking at R&R is a bit of a problem. They have rather high curbs, and the Mazda's front clearance is rather low. Chances of front scrapping the curb is high. The high bonnet makes it difficult to judge too.

The popular R&Rs, have security for the car parks - manned by RELA,like ourvigilante corps, in green. They are retired military and police officers, during this peak season. Gives a nice securefeeling.

How many adults paxing behind?

I am worried about the rear passenger's leg and shoulder room. I have 2 young kids, will need the car seat and booster seat. Not sure if it will be too cramp to add a slim adult behind too. Not to mention the stroller in the boot...

Think can fit 3 avg size adults behind. If larger size def 2. With 2 booster seats no space for another pax. You should look into mpv then. Mazda has one of the smaller cabins in its class.

not as breezy as my fiat gp though ....
i only used bilstain b4 and koni fsd on my gp before.
koni is very good ... b4 is just like our mazda 3 setup now ... firm borderline hard and no rebound control. good for smooth straights but no good on bumpy curves.

All 3 are adults. But Mazda has always not been so generous with rear seat space. The 3SP was worse. This one is slightly better, but still behind Altis and Sylphy in that area.

The boot space though is generous. Your stroller will have no problem. But with 2 booster seats, the third adult would have to be very slim. Won't recommend it for long distance though.

Still, you can always bring your booster seats and try them out at the showroom.

Headroom is also not generous. I supposed it is for that sporty looks and the sunroof.

I agree, but this one is wider compared to my 3SP. The rear part is even wider, though not translated into wider rear seats. The wing mirrors are also big. Had to fold them at the checkpoints.

Cut off at 165?

Will take your word on that, as I will never go that fast in this car. Somehow, feel it would be too light at that speed. Might do that in a DS5 2.0 turbo-diesel. I heard it was very comfortable.

3SP rear room was darn small. Sat in my ex-colleague's. Was astounded by how cramped it was. Reminded me of the old BM 3 series. I guess it's part of mazda's design philosophy to integrate car and driver, plus prolly a beefier car frame. Otoh, they have to increase cabin space - I bet they have had feedback/complaints. I did ask the SE about this and he said that the new M3 is larger.
Altis and Sylphy are def larger. I always say Sylphy is a fish tank on wheels. If M3 has larger cabin, it will not look like what it is. I have 3 girls, 9, 11 and 10 months. So 2 kids and a car seat is alright. Prices for a larger car are too crazy now.

I had the 3SP for 8 years. It's because I don't normally have rear passengers.

For you, it is a tight space, even with the present M3. Sylphy and Altis, use CVT. Find out about that.

Actually a Vezel would be better able to accommodate your needs. But it is parallel import and uses CVT. Price wise, just about the M3.

What is included in the standard discount for $102,888? Did anyone buy during the weekend before the 17 jun Coe? My SE only quoted me $1k OT then. VW Jetta looks dated alright. But that's expected from Continental cars. But VW seems to have lotsof problems.

Why not the new M6? Looks really nice to me. If I'm in Malaysia I would get that instead of the M3.

M6 is my choice too, except for the money LOL. So have to settle for M3. M6 would be too expensive to pay in full.
Usually the car mat they give away is which kind of mats?

If you notice, M3's accelerator pedal is the piano kind, connected to the floor. This means if you use ordinary mat, you will have to cut the top right part.

The rubber mat: Theone given by Eurokar, already has this feature to wrap a little around the pedal. It is a similar kind to 3M, but I don't think the quality is the same.

Using just the carpet mat gives the best feel actually, but it gets worn out and dirty quite easily. So we use the rubber mat on top of that. My previous ride, after 8 years, the carpet mat still looks very good. Kindof ironical.

Yes, I am only given $1k overtrade over that period.
But it seems higher than selling to second hand dealer since my car has only 4 months to go.

I got rubber mat too which is cut to fit. Not 3M.

I think the price went down by 1k, even though CEVS went up by 5k and COE went down by 5k.

Whatever the price, AD will adjust till its in the ballpark. As of last Sat, the price after standard discounts for deluxe sedan is ~116k+.

Hi Esther, have you collected your car or have you got the number. My SE told me that I secured the bid but now waiting for the car to be "shipped" here.

Depending on the colour. I last hrd only black and reflex blue are available. The rest will be next shipment in mid Jul.
Collecting this week!! SE will arrange a date if it has arrived in our shores. Heard they have to clear quite a number of cars.

Saw a number or neutral colour M3 already at Ubi.

What is included in the standard discount for $102,888? Did anyone buy during the weekend before the 17 jun Coe? My SE only quoted me $1k OT then. The mazda loyalty discount is only for current mazda owners right? Usually the car mat they give away is which kind of mats?
Did price really go up now due to CEVs rebate of only $5k now although Coe drop by $5k?
imo, all AD quite standard 1. They just need to re-callibrate their bidding strategy such that status quo, plus minus 1-2k is maintained.
But once the market get used to the idea of their respective car model at that reduced cev or in some cases no cev......they will revise their strategy again. Eventually will go up.

Too expensive before the 2nd June coe, Mazda deluxe was selling at $111,888.
Other Ads have already slashed their prices though CEVS went up. Seems like Mazda is holding firm.

111888 was becoz it's clearing ex stocks. Now no more.

Aiya, there will still be lah in a matter of weeks. It's all part of a marketing strategy only. Next time the $5k discount can be term back as flexi as it was in the past or under other names.
But one think I must say.. The deluxe version really makes Mazda 3 shine. Went to the Ubi showroom. Shaw the Mazda 3 standard. With no remote commander, it feels normal.

As I said, the deluxe sedan price will hover around 116k.
Actually I ever tried negotiating with the SEs before. Say I want additional discount, can be done but COE rebate will be lowered. It's a risk to undertake but if end of the day, you dun get it just lose out on 3 months of 10k deposit being locked up.As I said, the deluxe sedan price will hover around 116k.
I remember seeing a brother using this strategy for Mazda and it worked to his advantage. I didn't dare to try though the SE said can due to the CEVS surcharge.
Actually, back then negotiate for further 5k discount which is not seen on paper. But time was not on my side as compared to the earlier brother who did that.
Hence I didn't

Saw this listing on quotz. Is it just me or the thickness of the paint is actually the norm? Saw a minimum thickness of 1.3 mils as compared to other bnb rides whose minimum thickness is at least 2.1 mils.

Got people who buy car go and measure thickness of paintjob??
But when I bought a used car, I did check the colour tone if any respray at certain areas.
Got tell tale signs of u know where to see.
