Mine is not reproduced as described. I turn off my start/ stop before my journeys.Hi Ldawn88,
Was below the circumstances as shared previously ?? It is reportedly reproducible by several bros that seems to point to stop-start. Cheers. Richard

The brakes release delay can be stimulated. This haooens when brakes won't release immediately after you release the foot brake pedals and you hear some mechanical noises for 1 to 2s and then the brakes are released.
To stimulate it, after parking you car with your start/stop mode on, shift to park and engaged electronic handbrake. Just when start/stop activates to turn off the engine, press the "start" switch to off everything else.
Restart ur car within 5mins and try to drive off normally. If everything works fine, either the software bug doesn't ur ride or ur software already updated.
If u encounter the brake delays, then head down to TC. This issue will only reset itself after another cycle of start/stop cuts in or you stop the engine completely and wait for some time, someone mentioned to wait 15mins to me before.
Mine is not reproduced as described. I turn off my start/ stop before my journeys.

hi Ldawn88,

The other single bro with weekly occurrence but understand still not resolved was also not under mentioned circumstances and another cause that TC cannot resolved for 9 months or more.

How often is it happening on yours and what had TC done for you so far ??

Perhaps a bit late cos missed it since Jan 2016 but believe there may be other bros like me. Quite disappointing review of the Reanult Kadjar

Now, if this car had the Qashqai's sweet 1.2-litre turbo drivetrain, it would be a winner. As it is, the Renault-Nissan group is making you choose among function, form and fun. The Kadjar scores well in the first two attributes, but fails miserably in the last.
Wanted to just praise Optishine (John)here for the PPS that I have done 6 months back.

Hada few minute spots fromroad stones but Optishinealso touched upthe chipped paints FOC without any question asked.Couldn't tell where the spots are now.

Outstanding services. Value for money. Very satisfied. I highly recommend them, any problem go back ;they stand by what they say.

If it happens incarpark, have someone record the issue and show to TC.
So in ur case with SS off, does the brake release delay resets itself during the journey?
If no, you could drive to nearest TC and show them the problem - without turning off ur engine.

Or try using auto dis-engage of electronic handbrake with foot accelerator pedal instead when u start engineand move off initially.
I had been using this method before software update and the brake release delay didn't bug me.
That really depend on what type of cables you looking for :)Hi all,
would like to know who can provide the grouding service and the damage?

Wah you really know who's who . MeeMee is the expert on this.

Which Service Center is the best?
Hard to define 'Best'. It's relative.

Matter of experiencing yourself because of many factors like location convenience, which service advisor you meet on the service date, which day you go (usually heavy demands on Mon and Sat) and what are your service requirements vs expectations.

From what i gather, BT and Ubi are well rated in general and TP is only so-so. As for Jurong and Leng Kee I have no direct experience to make a comment.

If you don't mind, can spare me a couple of mins, so I can share my personal thoughts on this "feud" between Richard and yourself.

Firstly, I think this has gone on long enough... well, you may not agree with me but trust me, most of us here feel that this has gone on way too long.

Secondly, to be honest, we bros here in this page must have by now formed our own impressions on both yourself and Richard. Some may agree with you and some with Richard, but I don't think that's the point here. I think what's important is that we are all adults and we can all make up our own minds as to who is the "psycho" here. For the record, in my career, whether fortunately or unfortunately, I have had the pleasure of meeting real psyhcos (i.e. certified by IMH Head of Forensic Psychiatry)...so trust me when I say I know a psycho when I see one. And I have met Richard before...and while I won't describe him as charming (i.e. at least not as charming as me or meemee or mh23 la), he's certainly no psycho...passionate maybe, but not psycho. I have also met his family before...and well, what I can say is that they seem pretty happy with him...so not so sure about your thoughts and fears for his family....but it's nice you are concerned about them la.

Finally, this page is about QQ sharing so maybe we stick to the subject. And as you had previously said before, it is about opinions and everyone (even non owners of QQs who might have test driven one) have the right to make comments but maybe we should just make them as "opinions" and not God-given truths...coz every car and even every QQ is diff...so we may all have diff experiences even with the same model.

For my case, there was a cosmetic check done before I handed over my car to them and I received the car with a big deep scratch. There's no running away. The moment I highlighted the damage, he immediately booked a respray appt.

Hi all, will be collecting my Qashqai in the beginning of June, any particular thing I should look out/check for during collection?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alex,
Good news and welcome !!!!!

Checked with the Qashqai whatsapp group bro, Raymond, and gotten his permission to share the enclosed which I hope will help you and any new Qashqai owner.

BTW, do check for:

- scratches, including the solar film, while bubbles may exists and TC will rectify later if too serious
- tyre air pressure cos shipment require Nissan to over inflate

Enjoy the collection with your family and/or friends !!!!

Cat E now is way much higher that Cat A. They could have just paid up a bit more and got me the Cat A. What they are - one word, CHEAP, maybe 2 words, GREED,

Remember I considered the G-COE, they say no need - sure get! But all bids placed were lower than last bid result.
Got a message from my SE. Collecting final payment this Friday and collecting car next week!

Not bad considering I booked the car on 31 Mar, got COE on 1st bid.

Going to join the WhatsApp group soon....

Hi BO65,

Indeed ridiculous of your TC salesman and hope TC gets to know of it but not sure the management even cares .... perhaps bros here can recommend theirs if still looking at Qashqai since you are free to change salesman after 6 unsuccessful bids in understandably torturous 1.5 month. But can understand why you are giving up the idea and strange also why the salesman fight against his pocket and commission ...........

Please keep us updated if back to Qashqai.

Yep. Traded-in my VW Polo.Lucky man, got COE at 1st bid. shiok ... shiok!!
Did you trade-in old ride?
Trade-in value was better than what the PI offered so it made the decision to book the QQ a lot easier.
Just joking
LOL!Vw - very worried ???
Just joking
Mine was a Non-TSI version so I didn't have the critical failures that some VW owners experienced.
If you ever see a VW being driven real slow, it's probably because the gearbox failed/malfunctioned and car is stuck in a specific gear, or turbo issues.
Haha... Not really lah... Also depend on luck... Have been driving VW Jetta for 3 yrs, no problem... Powerful for 1.4 car..Vw - very worried ???
Just joking
I've comparing Vezel & QQ for more than a year and at last QQ won our hearts at the end in terms of comfort and nice interior with continental feel, love the boot's conpartments layout of 1.2 model as can keep barang barang in different configuration! TC offered high trade-in for my Honda Fit which is much higher than the PI and they locked the trade-in price when I signed the S&P and $10k deposits!
Indeed we are very very lucky got our car in 6 bids guareentee but got it on 1st bid! Book on 17/4 and received the good news on our wedding anniversary 20.04 that we secured the bid for our Bronze Colour 1.2QQ and can collect the car by 6 May!
SE from Leng Kee informed me of payments the next following week and arranged to collect car on 4/5 which is fast (less than 3 weeks from booking the car on 17/4), on collection, I found rear bottom silver panel got uneven paint works and rear tyre surface is uneven! No questions asked, SE discussed with her manager and said will replace asap!
We collect our car the next day on 5/5 with full replacement of the faulty items in the Leng Kee showroom! And I got the opportunity to drive my new QQ from level 2 showroom to fetch our kiddos in school! My BD gift in May indeed! Haha
Cheers

19 May 2016 - 04:47 PMTyjs2005Hi All, book my Q1.2 on 8 May from LK and got the Coe today, 1st bid and got it!
SE was a very nice lady, pretty as well; gave me all those freebies named by Bros here except sub-woofer and even offer me additional discount, overall quite an amount off the list price. Best of all, I did not really asked for all these! Thank to her and look forward to my ride pretty soon. Cheers to all.
Hi Ayre, what is the name of your SE, mayb i can go check out the QQ with her.
19 May 2016 - 04:50 PMPocyBO65, I believe QQ was your 1st choice then and now still. Price wise, I don't think you have lost out. We are driving a car so don't bother about the ppl at AD. You may wish to change the SE and move on to get your 1st choice QQ. Cheers!Even if you top up 2K today for G 2 bid, it will be same as the price they offered you 3 months back, 2K for G bid. So if you are keen, I think they have offered you an olive branch. Meaning the cost of COE increase over the last 6 bid is kinda absorbed by them...
19 May 2016 - 05:02 PMLee9389ckNot so willing buyer willing seller case.
I end up losing since COE has crept up every round for last 3 months except last round. So whatever car I buy now, I still end up paying for the price diff between 3 months ago and now.
I am going to miss you guys!
Hi BO65
Bro, your decision is not made yet ? Think about it lor. If the guaranteed bid price of add'l 2k is still within your budget and you do the the QQ, then it's still worth considering.
Buying car is like that one... U win some and u lose some. I have been a satisfied owner of the 1.2T QQ since Jan 2015...so was one of the earliest to enjoy this greatly ride. Of coz, that also means that I'm one of those who paid the most...but looking back... Enjoyed the car and love the drive ever since taking owner in end Jan last year.... So no regrets.. By the way, owners like me would have paid 124k...haha.. So 107k...cheap lor
Whatever decision u make... Think about it, make it and then just go all out and enjoy the car when it comes.... Good luck bro
19 May 2016 - 05:04 PMkumquatI think hardly anyone got a QQ at the low low price because it was an unexpected dip.
Tucson with sunroof (2 versions) looks like having gadgets although it is slightly more costly .
Less haste more speed. Good bye and good luck
If it makes you feel any better... some of the guys here paid in excess of $130k for their 1.2T QQ. I paid more than 10k of its current listed price too.

Don't get too upset over the failed COE bid. Could be also a blessing for you to look at other cars. The 1.2T QQ is hardly something to die for at its current price.

I miss the days of <$20k COE....

Cheersfyi, I stopped by Kah Motor yesterday. Seems they are clearing out their HRV from Thailand, They started taking orders for the HRV Japan models. No unit to test drive though.

The HRV - Thailand is using an older generation engine compare to Vezel (Japan). The HRV (Japan) by Kah Motor will be the Vezel face-lift version. Still 1.5. Expect price of the HrV Japan to be lower than HRV Thailand due to better carbon thingy.

19 May 2016 - 10:48 PMWildfaye29I can only say TC greedy.OK, this one will get you ALL SCREAMING.
My QQ purchase price was 101 998. Then with 1K discount = 100 998.
Ok, lets hear it!
quite good price isn't it.
Its just a matter of principle thingy......
people should be accountable!
Anyway, I need to re-test drive the QQ tomorrow. To remember why I chose the QQ.
my wife rejected the Harrier. Harrier offer 129K.
She says like ah pek! LOL. But the real headache I am having is the worry of theft in JB and KL. I go over quite often.
The Tucson is still pulling.
Will take time to think it over and decide. still got like 2 weeks to decide.
At 101k they still make 15k in margin in at 47k coe.

If you do change your mind... change SE too. My SE not bad, got my car within 1 bid NG and even gave me the previous COE which was higher than the one I bidded for. Got cash discount and freebies too.

If not... the new Tucson quite nice! But I head Harrier has better FC. How about Kia Sorento?

19 May 2016 - 10:59 PMBO65Hi Cashqai, vezel very noisy ? U test drove vezel before ? Heard from others vezel sits not as comfortable as QQ . Didn't have the chance to try vezel as pi don't allow test drive .
QQ has special - Gravity Seats originally developed by NASA.
Supposed to be more comfortable, especially on longer rides.
applicable to front 2 seats only - i think!

maybe they designed it that way - for HOT passengers !

20 May 2016 - 10:48 AMwhite_blackWe bought QQ 1.2 end Feb. Managed to bargain hard for further discount off list price ($101988) so final price under $100K. Really lucky to get my COE on 2nd bid in March. Pearl white. My weekend ride...The price was the listed price at time of purchase - minus 1K discount that was not asked for. I understand it is like standard for for every buyer to get this 1K discount.
So no, he was not aggressive. It was just that the COE was low at that time - end Feb 2016.
I am not sure how many of those who bought during that time got their rides. Many buyers in the showrooms were viewing and test riding the QQ during that window period when Cat A COE was lowest in 5 yrs then.
My wife and I thought TC must be going for market share or has a large order shipment that's why pushing hard for QQ sales. I guess luck and timing also play a part in car buying and securing COE.

I believe quality of the SE is the key. Good SEs can work wonders for buyers such as give good discounts, throw in freebies and also get mgt to push for your bid to be higher up the pecking order. Lousy SEs can drag you down in the pits by over promising but cannot deliver, not putting effort so your bid gets placed at the bottom of the queue for COE bidding or even worse is wrong advice.

20 May 2016 - 03:17 PMGoodrealmWonder if anyone has the same experience as me? Sent my Qashqai 2.0 last month at BT for my 2nd routine servicing. Driving routes, habit and petrol grade all still remain the same as before. Emailed TC and waiting for their reply.
20 May 2016 - 03:22 PMBO65i have found peace - and decided on no enemies. At the end of the day, its just bad luck. Shit happens some times.

Hi 500KP,

Price of LED is per ebay but installation is expensive as the existing reflector is not a blind hole which resulted in the whole bumper needing to be removed ... cannot really remember exact amount but just below sgd100 ?? and need mh23 to confirm.

More importantly, you need installer with good workmanship to avoid scratching the paint and removal of the black plastic strips above the tyres I think and no biz interest but go to Aestmod at 23 Lorong 11 Geylang if needed and ask for Ah Boon who had done our front bumper mesh, rear bumper led, glove compartment rattling, side step, auto folding (not when engine start like TC's but each time you lock/unlock door), audio installation and many many more.

What richard_crl032 said is right. If someone has the disposable income, no one can stop him/her from getting a premium car. For someone like me, getting my first car at 30+ of age, i think i will give practicality and functionality more weightage. bhp etc are not my concern. In summary, QQ 1.2L is the ride for me =)

Indeed, this rear bumper led is purely vanity :) but the horn is a life saving cos the guniang horn alerts no one and scared shit when NTUC truck reversed and ignored the stock horn and unfortunately no car behind for me to quick reversed my car ... phew ! Really a no-brainer mod on the horn ..... did hella red, hella yellow and ended up with using estima's horns as I am used to the loud and sharp tone.

Hi Meemee,

Lol ... your new friend blurred liao with your response and may not have your sense of humour

Aircon is a bit erratic until I installed the disable stop-start but Goodrealm, it is hard to take your post seriously if you share aircon being not cold together with 11km/l change to 10.6km/l since such FC change is just too insignificant and precise when FC depends so much on drive style and road condition through one or more full tank. It is typical from what I read and experienced personally that it is 10-13km/l actual calculation of mileage travelled and full tank of 50l till alert on empty tank. Apology in advance if I sound too blunt.

Tough decision. Different class to compare.
right now 50/50 either way.
QQ for economy, Tucson for size and passenger comfort. QQ passenger space of course smaller.
QQ only lack at acceleration from stop. When on the move, acceleration is not an issue. Very quite too after initial acceleration. Like our bro says, must be gentle with her at the beginning....
I have forgotten how high QQ is when in sitting position - very commanding!
Ask SE any options to upgrade to either?
Haha if can will have more headaches to decide.
Else 1.2QQ FC wins hand down with Tuscon.

Indeed cos turbo boost is of most impact but it will still better than stock for sure.
For NA, I recommend rschip cos it is designed without turbo boost and hence maxed out accordingly but note you can only transfer to only 2 more different car models and download the different car model's setting.
If you dun wish to spend too much, at least an ethrottle then and this got no warranty void concnern. Had not tried those eps electricity upgrade products to know how much it helps but it is expensive like rschip.

22 May 2016 - 09:01 AMCandiliousMaybe a consolation to me. Better than my previous ride of 65 litre tank which gave me only 420km. This ride can last 2 weeks plus without topping up. 22 May 2016 - 01:53 PMCandiliousIf your QQ is factory run in, then it's not new car liao. It's stated on the manual. Not only for QQ. All new cars the same. 1st 1600km, avoid revving in high gears, abrupt braking, Not to travel on the same speed for long period of time. Think hard to rev in high gear now that it's auto GB so it's the hard braking that needs to take note. I had a few emergency braking during my run in due to red light cameras. On the topic of run-in, I think I shall ask the SE whether is my QQ factory run-in.
22 May 2016 - 02:01 PMEricChanTurbo should be more fuel efficient . It uses the exhaust gas on its way out to power a turbo fan which is physically coupled to a fan which bring in more air. More air means more fuel to burn mean more power. Because some of the energy still available in the exhaust is recovered by a turbo charger at no cost compared with a naturally aspirated engine , it is thus more fuel efficient than the latter. It is an undisputed well known fact.Think turbo charged cars consume more petrol. Never hear Porsche was ever fuel efficient. Haha

The only caveat comes with that first oil change. Make sure you change your new car's oil and filter for the first time at 1500 miles unless otherwise recommended by the manufacturer. The reason? Metal has worn off while mating surfaces were established, and those metal scraps need to be removed from the engine before they cause long-term damage.

Hi Hoamchu,

2-3 years is ok but indeed a bit of effort to pump air as you have to unlock and then remove the "security" not before you can pump up your tyres and then putting it back and tightening it.

Nevertheless, if Kumquat's advice is that internal Steelmate cannot replace battery, I will take the external ones ... which I did.

The solar powered (hence no installation needed) with external sensor can be bought for USD115 while the internal sensors that I purchased for my father-in-law is about USD165.
Cheers,
Richard

24 May 2016 - 11:41 AMTalkieYeah. Agree. I only has 1 omega. Bought more than 10 yrs ago. Malfuctioned as I fell when plsying tennis 2 years back. Over shocked the watch. Last week brought in to repair at Swatch group - cost near to $900. NevermindNice watch you bought.
24 May 2016 - 10:05 PMEricChanNot shown how. But on the DUO point webpage,it says every dollar you spent you earn one point.
I believe it is the resultant of thepurchase price of the car ex COE,GST, road tax, registration fee, number plate. I think I looked at some of the products for equivalent pointson costs and deduced that mine was $300.
Hi EricChan, how is DUO point awarded to purchase - how much $ = one DUO point? SE told money paid for COE, PARF, GST will not be awarded DUO points. Explanation not so clear.
Saw your DUO points like 60,000 and it worth $300, meaning 200 DUO points about $1?

24 May 2016 - 10:36 PMharonkrI had contacted RaceChip Chiptuning from Germany to ask about the racechip ultimate as I couldn't find a version for my 1.2T.
Someone finally replied to me aft several months.
"Hi,
unfortunately at the moment there is no RaceChip for the 1.2 DIG-T engine available. Please tell me where you have seen the product for this engine.
Thank you.
Best regards
Tim"
Those who've installed it, did the shop adjust the tuning to suit the 1.2T or just plug n play?

Hi Haronkr,
Your contact is correct ... it showed "no tuning product":
https://www.racechip...e&is_selected=1
Believe it is custom tuned by Lawrence of local distro.
Please keep us posted on any concern.
Tks and regards.

I asked if there are any issues if one was to use the chip from another model into the 1.2T. The reply was:
"Hi again,
normally nobody should install a RaceChip of another engine in one which isnt official available.
The risk for a damage is to high.

Altho i do believe those experienced 'tuners' could still improve the car within safe parameters e.g monster tune, etc. However, i'm unsure abt tuning the chip itself to suit the car.
25 May 2016 - 09:37 AMMred1-2I have problem connecting my phone (iphone 6s plus) to the HU on bluetooth. Initially it will auto connect. Now to connect I need to
1) forget the HU pairing on my phone BT list
2) the HU will be discovered. I will pair them.
Next day it will fail to connect again unless I repeat the actions. I am not sure if it is my phone or the HU. Can I do a factory reset of the HU. Would that wipe everything away or would it revert back to TC default?
There is pin hole reset button under the GPS/RST tab. Lift up the tab and the reset pin hole is under the GPS micro sd slot.
It will revert back to TC default and I think your radio stations & equaliser settings will be revert backas well.

What i faced previously with my Andriod note 4 is I need to key in the default bluetooth pin everytime they connects.
From my phone Iunpair bluetooth, clear the cache for bluetooth, power off, wait for a few minutes and power on back.
For the HU, i did a reset as well.
25 May 2016 - 09:42 AMMred1-2Thanks Eric. I try to google. Can't find that discussion. I also look at the duo point page. The biggest service voucher without spending pre-requisite is $100 for 25000 duo points. Perhaps that's the way to offset?
I also found Meemee's audio thread as I was googling. He was showing how he do the insulation and the speaker frame. Wow. Like a dream. How I wish I have that kind of skillset! I have trouble taking out the front grill today after I remove the attached top plastic cover, haha.
Voucher without min. spend amt uses a lot of the points. Head down to TC and talk to the counter staff, they will advise you which type of voucher to redeem. Understand there is expiry date for vouchers so check if they have stock before redemption.

For my case I don't think TC made any $ from my trade in as car was listed by dealer on sgcarmart at $4K higher than trade in price. I guess my trade in price is about the market price even if I go direct to dealer, unless I sell direct to another owner.
And it's the hassle free arrangement to trade in to TC and I got to keep my ride till new car is ready.
25 May 2016 - 08:36 PMAyreI agree with this especially when your car is left with like 12 to 16 months, trade off to TC dealer will be ideal with that additional 2K off. The value given for your old car will not cause so much pain, just my opinion.Only recent have 2k off?

TC finally offered me 1K top up for 6 bids -G ! Don't get me wrong, I did not negotiate. Just that when I told them I am not going to top up, no argument or quarrel, just a decision, they came back next day with the offer. but another 6 weeks? seriously? well again, we decided not the go with QQ even if they give us a free COE immediately!

last friday went to test drive with my CO. This time requested to drive on the highway. me and CO size dup the car more closely and objectively this time, considered the size for family etc. The highway drive was beautiful after the initial acceleration from stop. It was amazing at 80-100 km/h onwards. totally unexpected. Nice to drive, very quiet, very smooth, like cruising on water! congrats to all the QQ owners for choosing the QQ!

we sized it, compared to the Xtrail, shocked hands with the SE (no quarrel, no harsh words, just matter of fact tone) and left quickly to do the same for the Tucson, with the QQ experience still fresh for comparison.

I have test driven the Tucson the previous week on the highway too. We decided on the Tucson mostly for size, and the value for money. QQ today at 107K. The Tucson starts at 110K. We will suffer for the 1.2K annual road tax, but that is not too much diff from our current 1.8 Steam road tax, so would not be too big change. Of course the QQ less than $500 road tax is beyond comparison, but we do need the bigger car for our aging parents, etc.

the Tucson is like 45cm wider and 800cm longer. so lots of space! of course its a different category and purpose vehicle.

so, good bye guys. I only remember lots of fun in this forum. Lots of bros and friends. This is the most active forum too, i think!!

26 May 2016 - 08:04 PMDefcom81 26 May 2016 - 09:56 PMCandiliousActually the previous structure quite good. Less loan less interest to pay. At least it does curb from over budgeting oneself. With this revised rule, people will naturally want a share in the ever increasing car population. Forcasting more congested roads during peak hours in the years to come. Think this will also effect the biz of Uber n Grab coz regular users might as well get a car since it's more economical. Banks profit will also increase with increased loan value. But bad debts will also rise in tandem due to economic downturn In the next quarters to come. Sorry bros n sis, just feel like talking rubbish after a hard days' work.

They don't want coe to drop further, cannot afford banks to lose business and yet want to stimulate economy. It's win win for them and then year end can have bonus again, maybe mid year too.

Hi Audi2016,

Sure can but indeed need a reputed spray paint shop ....

All bumpers are plastics to start with and same chemical paint for plastics available outside car makers.

However, look closer and under different lighting and you will see that the shade is different even with same paint used cos how we perceive color depends not only on the paint but how matt, colour of base materials etc.

For manufacturing color is measure as LAB and difference delta E being smaller will be closer to perfect match:

Once I did spray paint on the ABS plastic of the front lower bumper of my Scirocco (same material and textured surface as the QQ's black matt plastic), it wasn't very lasting. Small knocks will open up holes & the paint work will peel off in flakes.

Yeah color wise the different textures will give off slight different color accent even though they traced down to the very exact color code.

Hi Audi2016,

Noted and thanks.

Need to ensure primer layer first but heard also newer (more expensive) chemical paint does not have your mentioned issue anymore.

Must insist spray paint shop got standard one as mentioned earlier ... like oven baked or not will also differ in quality but also different $$$.

Anyway, to tell if fake? Will the box help? 29 May 2016 - 04:51 AMFooJiahaoOk, my experience so far after getting the 2.0L a few days ago.
Overall, I would find it above average.
Sufficient power on the road esp on steep up slopes.
Expressways
- Handles itself well on expressways in terms of stability and overtaking, esp when compared to my old 1.5l car.
- On the way home from collection, achieved a 13.5km/l based on car reading but after that no more. But I do understand the reading is likely not accurate, esp the first couple of tanks. Will have to review again after 5k check.
- Steering stiffens up on expressways which I like.
City driving
- Average. Not as zippy and maneuverable due to size.
- Find the steering at lower speeds a little light. Did not notice that during test drive.
- Some body roll during cornering. More obvious now than when I test drove. Less roll than my old sedan but not sure how it compares with the Vezel, Tuson, XT, Forester and other SUVs etc.
- Fuel economy perhaps only 9km/l but got to monitor further.
- 1st 0.5 sec acceleration from standstill a bit slow but once the lumbering butt gets moving, it can actually accelerate pretty fast to 60km/hr.
- Quiet cabin but maybe not as quiet as my old sedan when it was brand new. I like a quiet cabin. Should have bought a Harrier.
Overall
- Visibility surprisingly better than I remember. Large side mirrors are good.
- Love the reverse parking camera. Very useful as the huge butt blocks your line of sight.
- Dashboard feels quite complicated to me. I was used to a simple dashboard where the most sophisticated item was the analog radio and CD player.
- HU surprisingly did not give me issues with radio reception which I read was an issue. The navigation system on the HU is pretty good.
- Not fussy about speaker quality so I won't say anything about it.
- No rattles so far.
- Wife complained the seat is too hard. I wish the seats are Alcantara rather than leather. Alcantara grips the passenger's butt better and is not scalding hot (compared to leather) after parking in the sun.
- Aircon is strong enough for me. I usually set it at 24 or 25, 1 bar fan speed only. Pretty good for me. But one thing I find irritating is the internal vs external circulation. Still trying to resolve. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
- Got to tell bros who are new to the QQ. Once the fuel warning sign comes on, please go refuel. I thought there will be another yellow blinking light later on to warn me I am onto my last 10L reserve tank so I traveled quite a distance before I topped up. There is no yellow blinking light in the QQ.I only got left with 1L of fuel in the main and reserve tank when I finally topped up.
- Moon roof is swee but I can't get to enjoy it while driving.
- Wish there are more storage areas. The side storage is a little too deep and dark.
- Tail gate is damn heavy. Wish there was a motorised version.
Currently still trying to finish reading the manual. Damn difficult reading it. 29 May 2016 - 03:53 PMMeemee 29 May 2016 - 04:00 PMKeiraI changed my bf's suzuki van pathetic horn to Denso Jhorn same as the video below without hisknowledge, his shocked face is priceless when he heard it....

Anyway I hope you resolve this asap smoothly. They are a tough lot to deal with so be careful.
29 May 2016 - 04:18 PMCandiliousWat I always do for air circulation is, switch to internal circulation after turning off the aircon then switch off the engine. I also find that it seems to stop bugs from flying into the cabin. Used to the habit of turning off everything before switching off engine. Now add 1more step, switch the internal circulation on.Ok, my experience so far after getting the 2.0L a few days ago.

29 May 2016 - 05:54 PMLee9389ckHi Drewan02Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and has the intention to get QQ and am reading past threads and now kind of having mixed feelings. Any bro n sis can share if you are currently still experiencing technical issues like power loss, brake loss, etc? I understand that there have been upgrades n patches, so am wondering if up to date, have the problems been resolved?
Please don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to put QQ down. I'm doing sales so to have technical/safety issues are my main concerns (i know everyone will also be worried) before committing. Lack of rear legroom or pick-up, i can still manage.
So really look forward to advices if the technical issues are still persistent. Thanks
Bro, I got my 1.2T since Jan 2015 and has been enjoying the ride for 16 months... Not a single moment of regret.
Had one incident of "delayed" start...like the parking brakes "hesitating" to let go..for maybe one-two seconds.. just once in more than 16 months.. Decided not to use the auto start-stop and never encountered anymore problems.
Overall, to me la.. a very comfy ride, nice and quiet..love the cabin look and feel..ppl complain about rear legroom lacking slightly but since I never sit behind one so ok for me la..haha
FC is between 12-13 km/lit for me and I drive maybe 70-80% highway. Power is more than enough (once we get up to 70-80kmh) on NSHW during my frequent trips to KL... pick up is expectedly less than ideal due to CVT..but otherwise drive is smooth and powerful enough for my purposes.
Some of the minor "issues" I mentioned above can be easily overcomed and I'm sure many bros here can help you if you ask.. 29 May 2016 - 08:33 PMdash1234Where got lugi? A lot of ppl paid this price for their 1.2T many many months ago. The fact that TC is giving you 4K discount could be due to lesser buying interest in the 2.0 QQ ? Or they foresee a drastic drop in Cat B?My first post.
My sis is thinking to get the QQ 2.0 premium
SE is offering the following:
Price after 4K discount $113,998
Front and rear cams
Solar films
3M mats
Anything else to ask for in terms of freebies?
Can anyone advise did she lugi big time (in terms of pricing) as she missed previous car shows?
What's the diff between premium and adventure?
29 May 2016 - 09:07 PMkumquatBro, just go back to TC and get it repair and report your insurance asap.... let the insurance company do their work, that is what insurance is for.
No need to talk so much.... just tell them to report their own insurance.... they kpkb some more.... you say you claim medical from them... (heart pain and eyes pain, cause looking at your beloved car got damaged) haaaa
Hahah true true. I wanted to give him a chance and let him settle it private after getting TCM to give me a repair quote. Will see how tomorrow at the service center.
Thanks all for the support.

29 May 2016 - 11:23 PMKxbc 29 May 2016 - 11:24 PMrichard_crl032Bros, please see my 2 cents on why I am against stop start and have disable stopstart module on in my CO's 1.2L as reproduced from my msg in thr whatsapp group chat:
Back to stop start ..it cannot be good for battery if car electronics are still running without engine and alternator running to power then ...just drawing from battery which strains it. Special and expensive battery needed then and die fast but yet aircon not running not cold in our hot and sunny Singapore weather.
Mechanically, I do not like the induced vibrations and noises from stopping and then restarting .....this can only get worse when car ages and you can be assured engine mounting to be worn out sooner. What about then the starter, sparks and all the usual stressed components which are further stressed due to repeated stopling and starting ? Sure, they say more robust built with already such consideration ..then I say great cos if it is disabled, it will mean longer lasting components then ..haha !
So what is the advantages then ?? Save some fuel, meet carbon emission and save the world ?? Save for who ?? For those who drive say 2.0L version and other higher carbon emission car ?? Why should we ?? If really to save the world, all 1.2L with stopstart then ?? Or even simply all to go hybrid or even full electric cars ? Nay ..all bureacratic BS and I say this SS thingy is not for the car performance or environment or driver ......my 2 cents and a bit.
Last but not least ..less or same but not more chances for power loss/e brakes delay or loss.
Cheers.
Richard

29 May 2016 - 11:25 PMKxbc 29 May 2016 - 11:51 PMJanJennHi, any good recommendation where to change stebel magnum horn? And how much is the average price with installation?
30 May 2016 - 08:45 AMJiinkohhi folks, I uds this is solely for QQ 2014 onwards, but I am currently driving a 09 QQ 2.0, recently when idle (brakes stepped in and RPM 1+, the car started to rattle, and it gets more annoying as time pass by.
Most of us would have guess time for a engine mounting change.
my question is, if yes, what will be the price range and where to get the EM and last but not least, a reputable workshop for the change?
regards.
30 May 2016 - 09:37 AMMh23Hahah true true. I wanted to give him a chance and let him settle it private after getting TCM to give me a repair quote. Will see how tomorrow at the service center.

And actually it's quite funny. The taxi driver wife want me to take quotation of repairs from Nissan and then bring to outside workshop and compare see which one cheaper lol. Like go market buy veggie
Bro,
If inside leaking got to be careful, unlessyou are sure it'swater (could be wiper tank or air con condensate), elsedon't drive anymore.
Also remember to report to insurance company within 24hrs or next working day, be it going to be a insurance claim or private settlement.

Usually, claim from your own insurance first, then your insurance company will claim from the other party. Thus, no need to wait whether the other party agrees or not.Wah uncle Richard, don't scare me please. Hi Kumquat,

You have to pay TC first one hor ....

TC will not repair unless you pay and hence mentioned perferred AIG-TC tied to have less hassle cos they will settle among themselves ... especially with the insurance company of the taxi which is probably NTUC and they are damn difficult one.

30 May 2016 - 10:30 PMTalkieGuys I am interested to do the side step. Can share your lobang? Thanks. I think side step is also useful to prevent neighboring car door from hurting our car doors.
I was asked by SE to turned off start-stop before I off the engine. So far no issues w car. But Richard has his point. How can it be good for engine mounting? Or spark plugs? And how come air con can be on when engine is off? No Co poisoning?
Noticed door of Q1.2T is not autolocked when on the move. Isn't that dangerous? And it does not have alarm to help locate car - can't press remote key to sound the alarm.

Hi Talkie,

No central autolock is Euro legislation but guess it relieve car mfgrs on the responsibility in case of accident if lock is jammed since you are the one now who activated central lock. But yes, it is not safe in my opinion especially if you are at bolehland and forgets to central locked your car and any crooks can open your tailgate and any door to snatch your valuables or worst gets into the car and pull a knife at you or your family.

Nevertheless, you can installed Steelmate alarm with brake activated central locking or there are window modules from TaoBao that also include such brake activated central locking ... works great.

Another issue from this Euro legislation that irks some young family with children is that doors can be opened from inside even if central locked. BMW car needs double pulling action to ensure that it is not accidentally pull but ours do not have that function. Will be fixing tiong QQ's inner lock and master lock this weekend to try out mod for consideration by some whatsapp bro who asked for it but I really dun need it myself cos my children are grown up although they had also recently cause bad accident when failing to watch out for traffic before opening the doors.

Cheers.

Hi Talkie,

BTW, many options and variations of side steps now from TaoBao seller or via Aliexpress or Ezy.

http://www.aliexpres...tep for qashqai

It does prevent certain but not all neighbouring car door from hitting the Qashqai ... my estima is one that will be stopped by my side steps from UK Autoline:

http://www.ebay.co.u...ashqai&_sacat=0

I find the BMW like side steps the most attractive but please note that while great for young children, it may be an added effort for shorter adults to get in as our Qashqai is not that tall like a X5 or Fortuner ... please try out somebody's before ordering and installation and to find out that your CO may not like it and have to remove ... especially since it is not cheap due primarily to the shipping cost of such a long object.

30 May 2016 - 11:43 PMrichard_crl032Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and has the intention to get QQ and am reading past threads and now kind of having mixed feelings.
Thanks
hi Drewan02,

Unfortunately, those isolated few who are affected consistently every week or month (not those that experienced it once or twice in 6 or 12 months) mentioned that all SW fixes till date did not resolve this issue and that more SW fix is expected :(

31 May 2016 - 04:46 PMMeemeeOver kill :)Hi JanJenn,
Meemee uses overkilling awg0 ofc type cables that is almost 2X the cost of non-ofc. Ofc in my opinion is not overkilling cos of high heat and himudity as well as the fact that our car last 10 yrs.
Depending on your requirement but at about 8m length, this would be almost sgd200 on cable alone excluding pure copper terminations and in my case soldered also, excluding workmanship and profits of local shop.
Not aware of local shop doing this but would be sgd400-500 I guess if any available.
Cheers.

Has anyone (esp those with 2.0L version) experience your physical ESP Off switch, located at right knee level when seated, will light up even though you have not touched any of the settings?

Mine will light up randomly during a drive and you can off it by pushing the button. You can only reset it by shutting down the engine completely. It will not light up when you next re-ignite your engine but might light up again perhaps halfway through your trip.
