SE was a very nice lady, pretty as well; gave me all those freebies named by Bros here except sub-woofer and even offer me additional discount, overall quite an amount off the list price. BO65, I believe QQ was your 1st choice then and now still. Price wise, I don't think you have lost out. We are driving a car so don't bother about the ppl at AD. You may wish to change the SE and move on to get your 1st choice QQ. Cheers!Even if you top up 2K today for G 2 bid, it will be same as the price they offered you 3 months back, 2K for G bid. So if you are keen, I think they have offered you an olive branch. Meaning the cost of COE increase over the last 6 bid is kinda absorbed by them...
Not so willing buyer willing seller case.
I end up losing since COE has crept up every round for last 3 months except last round. So whatever car I buy now, I still end up paying for the price diff between 3 months ago and now.

Of coz, that also means that I'm one of those who paid the most...but looking back... Enjoyed the car and love the drive ever since taking owner in end Jan last year.... So no regrets.. By the way, owners like me would have paid 124k...haha.. So 107k...cheap lor

Tucson with sunroof (2 versions) looks like having gadgets although it is slightly more costly .

Don't get too upset over the failed COE bid. Could be also a blessing for you to look at other cars. The 1.2T QQ is hardly something to die for at its current price.

I'm patient la but it's one of those moments when u r feeling super excited while waiting for your first ride. FYI, just found out the Tucson is changing HU from Sony (current users Sony is crappy), to an OEM one with nav, etc. �The supplier is the same as the one supplying to TC. �So Tucson and QQ sharing same head unit now!

The Tucson guys says the installer (Elegant Auto - 2nd floor at Komoco LK I think), are very helpful and entertain free firmware upgrades. �maybe you could consult them about the steering wheel interface. �Call them - nothing to loose.

QQ has special - Gravity Seats originally developed by NASA.
Supposed to be more comfortable, especially on longer rides.

Got my COE in 1st bid (non-guaranteed) as they should have an�agreement to handover my old car to dealer within a certain time frame.

Got my COE in 1st bid (non-guaranteed) as they should have an�agreement to handover my old car to dealer within a certain time frame.

More importantly, you need installer with good workmanship to avoid scratching the paint and removal of the black plastic strips above the tyres I think and no biz interest but go to Aestmod at 23 Lorong 11 Geylang if needed and ask for Ah Boon who had done our front bumper mesh, rear bumper led, glove compartment rattling, side step, auto folding (not when engine start like TC's but each time you lock/unlock door), audio installation and many many more.

For someone like me, getting my first car at 30+ of age, i think i will give practicality and functionality more weightage. bhp etc are not my concern. In summary, QQ 1.2L is the ride for me =) �

Discovered later air con has become less cold and worst of all, my fuel mileage has dropped drastically from 11km to now 10.6km per litre. Driving routes, habit and petrol grade all still remain the same as before. Emailed TC and waiting for their reply.

Indeed, this rear bumper led is purely vanity :) �but the horn is a life saving cos the guniang horn alerts no one and scared shit when NTUC truck reversed and ignored the stock horn and unfortunately no car behind for me to quick reversed my car ... phew ! �Really a no-brainer mod on the horn ..... did hella red, hella yellow and ended up with using estima's horns as I am used to the loud and sharp tone.

Aircon is a bit erratic until I installed the disable stop-start but Goodrealm, it is hard to take your post seriously if you share aircon being not cold together with 11km/l change to 10.6km/l since such FC change is just too insignificant and precise when FC depends so much on drive style and road condition through one or more full tank. �It is typical from what I read and experienced personally that it is 10-13km/l actual calculation of mileage travelled and full tank of 50l till alert on empty tank. �Apology in advance if I sound too blunt.

Indeed cos turbo boost is of most impact but it will still better than stock for sure.
For NA, I recommend rschip cos it is designed without turbo boost and hence maxed out accordingly but note you can only transfer to only 2 more different car models and download the different car model's setting.
If you dun wish to spend too much, at least an ethrottle then and this got no warranty void concnern. Had not tried those eps electricity upgrade products to know how much it helps but it is expensive like rschip.

Sent in for 5K servicing in mid apr too. FC improved leh. Since car collection in oct 15,, mileage hovering 480km per tankful. After 5k servicing, it was 520km. But after last week's refuel, estimated FC was 570 for this tank. Now slightly less than half tank still have 280km to travel. Not sure whether also due to caltex, their formula improved lately. Maybe a consolation to me. Better than my previous ride of 65 litre tank which gave me only 420km. This ride can last 2 weeks plus without topping up. Previous rides' empty tank lights in less than 2 weeks. Travel routes had not changed for the last 12 years. So in between already had 2 rides before QQ.No offence, but 520km per full tank is only 9km per litre which is poor fc.

My full tank (45litre) gave me only 400 +/- and I am 98% city drive inside CBD in Morning & Evening.
For me this kind of F/C is very very good for me.

If your QQ is factory run in, then it's not new car liao. It's stated on the manual. Not only for QQ. All new cars the same. 1st 1600km, avoid revving in high gears, abrupt braking, Not to travel on the same speed for long period of time. Think hard to rev in high gear now that it's auto GB so it's the hard braking that needs to take note. I had a few emergency braking during my run in due to red light cameras.On the topic of run-in, I think I shall ask the SE whether is my QQ factory run-in.
Turbo should be more fuel efficient . It uses the exhaust gas on its way out to power a turbo fan which is physically coupled to a fan which bring in more air. More air means more fuel to burn mean more power. Because some of the energy still available in the exhaust is recovered by a turbo charger at no cost compared with a naturally aspirated engine , it is thus more fuel efficient than the latter. It is an undisputed well known fact.Think turbo charged cars consume more petrol. Never hear Porsche was ever fuel efficient. Haha

The only caveat comes with that first oil change. Make sure you change your new car's oil and filter for the first time at 1500 miles unless otherwise recommended by the manufacturer. The reason? Metal has worn off while mating surfaces were established, and those metal scraps need to be removed from the engine before they cause long-term damage.
I wouldn't take this article as credible at all.

Sent in for 5K servicing in mid apr too. FC improved leh. Since car collection in oct 15,, mileage hovering 480km per tankful. After 5k servicing, it was 520km. But after last week's refuel, estimated FC was 570 for this tank. Now slightly less than half tank still have 280km to travel. Not sure whether also due to caltex, their formula improved lately. Also noticed engine less noisy n acceleration much smoother. Mine mostly city drive.

One would usually expect FC to maintain if not improve after servicing instead of increased FC. Gotten a reply from BT customer service, recommended that I send my car back for further inspection. Have requested to go to the one at LK instead of BT. Will update on what ensues.
Went to the showroom today, met a young and pretty SE and was given discount and freebies without asking. But pearl white needs to be indent which might take a few months but my car is due in next month. What should i do?�

What is the maximum rpm or maximum km/h for the run-in period?A quarter tank was mine, unless your SE generous enough... 95 is very sufficient and you want to drive gently and slow for your run-in period (1st 1600 km)

Well for my experience was, having 13.5km/L per tank on esso95, switch to shell95 (cos nearer to home)�and fc dropped 12.8km/L for 2 tanks. Now switch back to esso and getting my better fc back as well. I guess my car is fussy and not used to shell95 as it was on esso since day 1.
I am waiting for the day to see this kinda mileage. That would mean I can go kiosk once a month. So how often u refuel?

Bro, not every time so good la. This was clocked during school holidays when traffic was generally better and I made more longer trips (regular short trips will kill our FC). Nowadays usually per tank is between 720-750km.
Even with this I pump petrol once a week coz I travel more than 3000km per month...haha

thats good fc. My poorer fc was due to short trips n city drive. But some people failed to understand why some people have poorer FC and keeps harping on vezel and harrier having good FC. I would accelerate slowly. Drive in a leisurely fashion . Avoid running above 3500 rpm and 80 Kmhr . No revving of engine . Avoid racing and overtaking just for the sake of speeding . be ever gentle with her . .Dont be a hard braker .What is the maximum rpm or maximum km/h for the run-in period?

I bought a pair from aliexpress (high & low tones) and DIY using back existing bracket and add another near to it.
Tap and plug in to existing cable so far so good.

If your Hella supertone consume more amps may have to tap another cable with added�fuse protection. Any accessories workshop will be able to do it.

Per tank FC varies from 11km/l to 14km/l, depending on my routes and 'loads' that l'm carrying..

Not cheapest and not the most expensive but excellent workmanship and follow up.
Found them for the feont bumper mesh and gotten them to do all sort of mechanical and electrical installation.

I had contacted RaceChip Chiptuning from Germany to ask about the racechip ultimate as I couldn't find a version for my 1.2T.

I asked if there are any issues if one was to use the chip from another model into the 1.2T. The reply was:

Altho i do believe those experienced 'tuners' could still improve the car within safe parameters e.g monster tune, etc. However, i'm unsure abt tuning the chip itself to suit the car.
I have problem connecting my phone (iphone 6s plus) to the HU on bluetooth. Initially it will auto connect. Now to connect I need to
1) forget the HU pairing on my phone BT list
2) the HU will be discovered. I will pair them.
Next day it will fail to connect again unless I repeat the actions. I am not sure if it is my phone or the HU. Can I do a factory reset of the HU. Would that wipe everything away or would it revert back to TC default?

There is pin hole reset button under the GPS/RST tab. Lift up the tab and the reset pin hole is under the GPS micro sd slot.
It will revert back to TC default and I think your radio stations & equaliser settings will be revert back�as well.

What i faced previously with my Andriod note 4 is I need to key in the default bluetooth pin everytime they connects.

Voucher without min. spend amt uses a lot of the points. Head down to TC and talk to the counter staff, they will advise you which type of voucher to redeem. Understand there is expiry date for vouchers so check if they have stock before redemption.

Yes passenger cars too. Servicing there is OK, quite quiet usually. For servicing, as I work nearby, I just drop it off before work, and walk to office. After that, walk back to collect car after lunch.

last friday went to test drive with my CO. �This time requested to drive on the highway. �me and CO size dup the car more closely and objectively this time, considered the size for family etc. �The highway drive was beautiful after the initial acceleration from stop. �It was amazing at 80-100 km/h onwards. �totally unexpected. �Nice to drive, very quiet, very smooth, like cruising on water! �congrats to all the QQ owners for choosing the QQ!

I have test driven the Tucson the previous week on the highway too. �We decided on the Tucson mostly for size, and the value for money. �QQ today at 107K. �The Tucson starts at 110K. �We will suffer for the 1.2K annual road tax, but that is not too much diff from our current 1.8 Steam road tax, so would not be too big change. �Of course the QQ less than $500 road tax is beyond comparison, but we do need the bigger car for our aging parents, etc. �

U are really not talking rubbish.Actually the previous structure quite good. Less loan less interest to pay. At least it does curb from over budgeting oneself. With this revised rule, people will naturally want a share in the ever increasing car population. Forcasting more congested roads during peak hours in the years to come. Think this will also effect the biz of Uber n Grab coz regular users might as well get a car since it's more economical. Banks profit will also increase with increased loan value. But bad debts will also rise in tandem due to economic downturn In the next quarters to come. Sorry bros n sis, just feel like talking rubbish after a hard days' work.
They don't want coe to drop further, cannot afford banks to lose business and yet want to stimulate economy. It's win win for them and then year end can have bonus again, maybe mid year too.

This morning, music CD cannot be loaded into HU.
Auto insert function malfunctions.
It�s exactly a week old today! Since then I have managed to cover around 750km (13.5km/l) on my 1st tank based on 50% highway.

All bumpers are plastics to start with and same chemical paint for plastics available outside car makers.
�
However, look closer and under different lighting and you will see that the shade is different even with same paint used cos how we perceive color depends not only on the paint but how matt, colour of base materials etc. �

Need to ensure primer layer first but heard also newer (more expensive) chemical paint does not have your mentioned issue anymore.

Ok, my experience so far after getting the 2.0L a few days ago.
Overall, I would find it above average.
Sufficient power on the road esp on steep up slopes.
Expressways
- Handles itself well on expressways in terms of stability and overtaking, esp when compared to my old 1.5l car.
- On the way home from collection, achieved a 13.5km/l based on car reading but after that no more. But I do understand the reading is likely not accurate, esp the first couple of tanks. Will have to review again after 5k check.
- Steering stiffens up on expressways which I like.
City driving
- Average. Not as zippy and maneuverable due to size.
- Find the steering at lower speeds a little light. Did not notice that during test drive.
- Some body roll during cornering. More obvious now than when I test drove. Less roll than my old sedan but not sure how it compares with the Vezel, Tuson, XT, Forester and other SUVs etc.
- Fuel economy perhaps only 9km/l but got to monitor further.
- 1st 0.5 sec acceleration from standstill a bit slow but once the lumbering butt gets moving, it can actually accelerate pretty fast to 60km/hr.
- Quiet cabin but maybe not as quiet as my old sedan when it was brand new. I like a quiet cabin. Should have bought a Harrier.
Overall
- Visibility surprisingly better than I remember. Large side mirrors are good.
- Love the reverse parking camera. Very useful as the huge butt blocks your line of sight.
- Dashboard feels quite complicated to me. I was used to a simple dashboard where the most sophisticated item was the analog radio and CD player.
- HU surprisingly did not give me issues with radio reception which I read was an issue. The navigation system on the HU is pretty good.
- Not fussy about speaker quality so I won't say anything about it.
- No rattles so far.
- Wife complained the seat is too hard. I wish the seats are Alcantara rather than leather. Alcantara grips the passenger's butt better and is not scalding hot (compared to leather) after parking in the sun.
- Aircon is strong enough for me. I usually set it at 24 or 25, 1 bar fan speed only. Pretty good for me. But one thing I find irritating is the internal vs external circulation. Still trying to resolve. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
- Got to tell bros who are new to the QQ. Once the fuel warning sign comes on, please go refuel. I thought there will be another yellow blinking light later on to warn me I am onto my last 10L reserve tank so I traveled quite a distance before I topped up. There is no yellow blinking light in the QQ.I only got left with 1L of fuel in the main and reserve tank when I finally topped up.
- Moon roof is swee but I can't get to enjoy it while driving.
- Wish there are more storage areas. The side storage is a little too deep and dark.
- Tail gate is damn heavy. Wish there was a motorised version.
Currently still trying to finish reading the manual. Damn difficult reading it.

Anyway I hope you resolve this asap smoothly. They are a tough lot to deal with so be careful.
Wat I always do for air circulation is, switch to internal circulation after turning off the aircon then switch off the engine. I also find that it seems to stop bugs from flying into the cabin. Sounds like you have agreed to settle private? Else why need to do comparison. Did you tell taxi driver that you will be claiming his insurance? Bro, I got my 1.2T since Jan 2015 and has been enjoying the ride for 16 months... Not a single moment of regret.
Had one incident of "delayed" start...like the parking brakes "hesitating" to let go..for maybe one-two seconds.. just once in more than 16 months.. Decided not to use the auto start-stop and never encountered anymore problems.
Overall, to me la.. a very comfy ride, nice and quiet..love the cabin look and feel..ppl complain about rear legroom lacking slightly but since I never sit behind one so ok for me la..haha
FC is between 12-13 km/lit for me and I drive maybe 70-80% highway. Power is more than enough (once we get up to 70-80kmh) on NSHW during my frequent trips to KL... pick up is expectedly less than ideal due to CVT..but otherwise drive is smooth and powerful enough for my purposes.
Some of the minor "issues" I mentioned above can be easily overcomed and I'm sure many bros here can help you if you ask..
Where got lugi? A lot of ppl paid this price for their 1.2T many many months ago. The fact that TC is giving you 4K discount could be due to lesser buying interest in the 2.0 QQ ? Or they foresee a drastic drop in Cat B?My first post.

The 2.0 l can off the DRL . Light has 4 positions : All off, DRL on, all headlights on and automatic.The manual mentioned that the drl will always be on when the engine it's running regardless of setting. However, my drl does not auto on. It was auto on when I first collected it. Not sure if it is setting issue. Anyone can advise? Tia.
Btw the steering has 2 selector: normal and sport. There are other functions on chassis control , leave you to find out

Back to stop start ..it cannot be good for battery if car electronics are still running without engine and alternator running to power then ...just drawing from battery which strains it. Special and expensive battery needed then and die fast but yet aircon not running not cold in our hot and sunny Singapore weather.
Mechanically, I do not like the induced vibrations and noises from stopping and then restarting .....this can only get worse when car ages and you can be assured engine mounting to be worn out sooner. What about then the starter, sparks and all the usual stressed components which are further stressed due to repeated stopling and starting ? Sure, they say more robust built with already such consideration ..then I say great cos if it is disabled, it will mean longer lasting components then ..haha !
So what is the advantages then ?? Save some fuel, meet carbon emission and save the world ?? Save for who ?? For those who drive say 2.0L version and other higher carbon emission car ?? Why should we ?? If really to save the world, all 1.2L with stopstart then ?? Or even simply all to go hybrid or even full electric cars ? Nay ..all bureacratic BS and I say this SS thingy is not for the car performance or environment or driver ......my 2 cents and a bit.
Last but not least ..less or same but not more chances for power loss/e brakes delay or loss.

Also remember to report to insurance company within 24hrs or next working day, be it going to be a insurance claim or private settlement.

Better speak to your own insurance, check under such circumstance, do they have confident that fault is 100% on the other party? Usually, claim from your own insurance first, then your insurance company will claim from the other party. If your repair is more than 1 day, you can ask TC to supply you a QQ rental car from their car rental division for the days your car is with them. They too can do this as a package deal. You have to protect your interests.

No central autolock is Euro legislation but guess it relieve car mfgrs on the responsibility in case of accident if lock is jammed since you are the one now who activated central lock.� But yes, it is not safe in my opinion especially if you are at bolehland and forgets to central locked your car and any crooks can open your tailgate and any door to snatch your valuables or worst gets into the car and pull a knife at you or your family.

I find the BMW like side steps the most attractive but please note that while great for young children, it may be an added effort� for shorter adults to get in as our Qashqai is not that tall like a X5 or Fortuner ... please try out somebody's before ordering and installation and to find out that your CO may not like it and have to remove ... especially since it is not cheap due primarily to the shipping cost of such a long object.

Meemee uses overkilling awg0 ofc type cables that is almost 2X the cost of non-ofc. Ofc in my opinion is not overkilling cos of high heat and himudity as well as the fact that our car last 10 yrs.
Depending on your requirement but at about 8m length, this would be almost sgd200 on cable alone excluding pure copper terminations and in my case soldered also, excluding workmanship and profits of local shop.
Not aware of local shop doing this but would be sgd400-500 I guess if any available.

Has anyone (esp those with 2.0L version) experience your physical ESP Off switch, located at right knee level when seated, will light up even though you have not touched any of the settings?

Mine will light up randomly during a drive and you can off it by pushing the button. You can only reset it by shutting down the engine completely. It will not light up when you next re-ignite your engine but might light up again perhaps halfway through your trip.

QQ comes with electric folding side mirrors. Ask for auto folding when door is locked, unfold when engine starts without pressing the mirror folding button.
Some SEs like to confuse buyers saying it's auto fold by pressing the button. Please double confirm with ur SE.

At least for mine collection in Oct-Nov 2015, TC's autofolding side mirror is simplex and only open when you starts the engine and not when you unlock but yes, locking closes the side mirror. �

I changed out the TC's and installed a 3rd party duplex one that opens and closes when you lock and unlock the door but �yes, I am anal to use the status of folded mirror to ensure that it is 101% locked.
�
Please request TC to ensure duplex type if getting from them cos they cannot reprogram it and it is hardware limitation .... I tried.

Defcom81, usual TC don't release your tyre pressure. You have to do it yourself. Please check.

The click click sound from the gear stick is likely the auto gear release catch which prevents u from accidentally engaging the gear without depressing the brake. Its normal...

Anyway, just bought this voltage meter with 2 usb port, 1 is 2.1A and the other 1A from ebay and cost around $11 including shipping. I noticed once our battery level drop below 12V when I stopped at the junction, the engine automatically start back.

The npmp Nissan prevention maintenance program cost $1488 after using duo points you only need to pay $1100 for servicing up till a total 50km mileage or 3years in total(this includes your free 1k, 5k and 10k), which is cheaper than any workshop outside

Renault same engine as qqI booked QQ 1.2L on Sunday with trade in (Lancer GLX at $16k + $2k) + 6 bids guaranteed COE. Following are the freebies:

- standard package comes with 6 months road tax, 3 + 2 years warranty
Was advised by SE (really experience one) to save the top-up of$1k to guarantee 1 bid COE. He seems confident to get COE in next week's bid. Finger crossed.
I was rather concern of the Renault engine plus followings
1) Unreliable of Renault Engine
2) Spare parts since this is a UK made
3) OEM touch screen radio which has reports of malfunction
4) Gearbox problem especially due to the 1.2L and turbo incompatibility (not sure if right word to use)

Roof rail is not critical since can add aftermarket on and in addition to what �you had added the obvious missed ones will be LED headlight compared to Halogen in 1.2L and not obvious will be individual Macpherson rear suspension compared to cheaper torsion beam rear suspension of the 1.2L .... these are big ticket item and �you cannot even have aftermarket addon. �

Other minors ones are factory fitted leather seat, electric auto anti-glare rear mirror etc. but this had been cover in part 1 thread if any bros are interested to know.

On roads, I have no reception issues. I don't park in MSCP but the few times I was in one, I don't recall reception issues. I do have some issues when I drive in underground car parks but the reception was not worse than my previous car. Anyway, I am only in car parks to park the car and don't dwell long inside so it's never an issue with me.

I noticed that the child lock moved from locked position to unlocked position after a few times. My son managed to open the door while the car is moving and luckily I was just moving out from the car park and manage to stop the car and locked the door again.

So now every time before I closed the door I double check the child lock is in the engage position. Gonna report this to TC when I send my car for 1K service.

Btw, correct me if I am wrong. I think when we lock our doors using the door switch, we only prevent outside ppl from opening our car door and tailgate. However, it can still be opened from inside. To prevent child from opening from inside, use the child lock.

Does your maid wash the car and accidentally move the switch? It is quite impossible for the child lock to move to the unlocked position as it will have to go against gravity

Parked my car, ISS cuts in�and stop the engine just before�I press the engine stop button. Ok, I pressed the stop engine button to turn everything off after ISS cuts in .

After doing�a quick�errand, came back, start�engine and realized the brake didn't release when my foot is taken off the foot brake. It will takes 2 to 3 secs with some mechanical noises heard before the brakes are being release. This happens in every stops until ISS activates again and everything is reset back.

Tell SC your problem. I went 1K servicing on Monday. Booked 1st slot 8am and told them I would wait there. Complete in about 2 hours. I think waiting time reasonable.

ADs will not commit a firm date lest it becomes a liability and can be sued for any breach. Once car arrived, you will be asked for payment one week before delivery. Holding the car in warehouse is a cost to them.My agreement also states that the delivery date is an estimate only.

2) No squeaks from brakes which are very jiak.

Can you check if your ride register the following? The ESP physical button (located at right knee level) will sometimes light up halfway during a trip. The corresponding light at dashboard remains off. I am not sure what to make out of this lit button. Will check it out at 1k servicing. If you do encounter the same, you might want to highlight too.

Look at it this way, guaranteed COE means you sure get car eventually. And the longer you drive your old car the more money you save since the depreciation for the old car is less than the new QQ, albeit its only savings of a few hundred dollars on paper per month. But still save�

while i was advised by the SE that the SE do get some commission from it and i am pretty sure TC does get a commission off it, to bid higher just because one has a trade in car would only benefit HY as they can get the trade in car earlier and try to mark up the price. of course that would work out if TC has a share off HY, which i am not sure. that particular model would be similar to C&C with republic auto.
i would reckon that the "priority" system for COE bidding would be based on purchase price and whether there is ex stock available.

while i was advised by the SE that the SE do get some commission from it and i am pretty sure TC does get a commission off it, to bid higher just because one has a trade in car would only benefit HY as they can get the trade in car earlier and try to mark up the price. of course that would work out if TC has a share off HY, which i am not sure. that particular model would be similar to C&C with republic auto.
i would reckon that the "priority" system for COE bidding would be based on purchase price and whether there is ex stock available.

Can you check if your ride register the following? The ESP physical button (located at right knee level) will sometimes light up halfway during a trip. The corresponding light at dashboard remains off. I am not sure what to make out of this lit button. Will check it out at 1k servicing. If you do encounter the same, you might want to highlight too.

Bro, not sure what brand DVR u got but when I bought my QQ in Jan 2015 I was given the Dabonda Legend (front only)...which was really hopeless and the blinking light kept flashing at a frantic pace until I'm not even sure if the camera is recording or it's just too hot and about to explode.

Got mine changed to Thinkware F750, a bit expensive but very happy with it's performance for last 9 months or so...excellent full HD recordings (and I now record both front and back). It comes with an easy to use app so you don't need to take out the SD card and look for a laptop to download video clips.

Just last week, there was an idiot in a Honda Stream who was roadhogging on CTE at 70kmh on lane 1. When I signaled him to move left and eventually overtook him from the left, he was not happy and started tailgating me and then overtook me and started braking.� I finally drove to his left, signaled to him that my DVR has recorded all these...he looked stunned and quickly drove off....haha

Had been tested many times by independent parties and it has shown that octane does not increase power. Even petrol companies themselves acknowledged that octane is to determine how much a fuel can withstand a particular compression ratio before detonation/ignition.
Of course 98 will have more 'additives' as advertised over 95, known to keep your engine cleaner and run smoother. But really how much cleaner or smoother, we will never know in our car's life span.
Best is just follow the car manual's recommendation. If your wallet allows it, even going for Shell V power will not harm anything except your credit card bill. Or if think a higher octane gives you feeling of a more powerful engine and better FC, just do it. End of the day, it's your own money and you are happy. :)

Between Esso and Shell, the former is smoother and quieter; but the latter is more torquey, louder and more thirsty

the words used ' help to improve' is deliberate - and not as strong as directly saying it improves . They are also�used on efficiency which is vague (marketing ploy) and it in fact actually refers to other things (efficiency of the combustion process mostly more smoother combustion and the word fuel consumption is specifically never mentioned).
Then if you read further down the exact phrase word for word (that I have used) is found there.
Fuel economy is to do with the calorific value of the hydrocarbon chain and the combustion .- essentially for all practical purposes because of the minute amount of additives used the hydrocarbon composition is the same.

1. The primary reading for my analogue speedometer is in mph. I was told this is the same for all QQs. I wondered why since UK is supposed to have gone metric. Then I read that even though they have gone metric, they are a confused lot, still using mph for road speed. Anyway, if this is the reason, why is the analogue speedometer in QQ 2.0 different, in km/h?

2. The radio reception is rather bad. A lot of "shhh..shh.." sound. Maybe it is due to the rain yesterday. Or maybe due to poor installation when I changed the antennae to the "sharkfin" type. I will check again today.

3. If you turn off radio, you turn off GPS voice. I want GPS voice without radio. My solution is to change input from Radio to Aux. Any better solution?

4. In my other car, Toyota Harrier, all the doors automatically lock when I drive off. My daughter complains that this does not happen in the QQ. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

5. I like to charge my handphone in the car, so I have a dual USB charger permanently in the 12V socket. But I realised that the power does not go off when my engine is off. Is it risky to leave the charger there permanently? Will the battery be depleted? I am thinking only that small LED light on the charger is consuming power. Cannot be too much power drawn, right? From past experience, pulling the charger in and out too many times will spoil something.

6. When I reverse car to park, the grid lines appear on the screen. But yesterday when trying to reverse park at a small NTUC FairPrice outlet, the lines did not appear. I wonder why sometimes they do not appear.

Finally got my night shade 1.2 QQ after booking it in Feb as I wanted to wait till my old car is scraped.
Love the car so far but 2 small issues.
1. The suspension seems to be making a bit of noise, when going over humps and when driving along uneven road surfaces. A bit of light creaking and knocking but certainly annoying for a new car.
Any idea what could be the problem? Di I need to fix it ASAP or can wait till 1k servicing?
2. My SE included the auto fold mirror for me but when I locked all doors , the mirrors folded themselves automatically when I was driving.
It seems the auto fold is activated by the locking of car doors. Is there a way to set it such that the mirrors won't auto fold when the car is moving and I locked the doors?

If you refer to the Nissan Qashqai Owner's Manual, under FUEL INFORMATION page 9-4, the facts are:-

MR 20DD or MR16DDT engine:�
�
Use Unleaded REGULAR petrol with an octane rating of at least 91 (RON)
�
[For those QQ 2.0L owners take note]
�
HRA2DDT engine:

Use Unleaded PREMIUM petrol with an octane rating of at least 95 (RON)
�
[For QQ 1.2T owners take note]
�
The fuel information states the respective minimun RON, but gives drivers discretion on using higher grades available in the market place. In Singapore's fuel market, there is a choice of 92, 95 or 98 RON.
�
My simple understanding is that for newer cars where there is likely less carbon deposit in the engine, 95 RON will be adequate. But for older engines where more carbon deposits may have accumulated over time, using higher RON fuels should help to clear those carbon deposits as higher RON petrol have more cleansing detergents to help provide better combustion.
�
Also be mindful that there is a possibilty of petrol contamination when petrol companies transport their fuel from supply sources all over the world right up to petrol station pumps. It would be prudent to report to the petrol supplier for RON rechecks if there are abnormal engine performance after petrol fueling.
The fuel regardless of 95, 98 or vpower does not clean the engine. It is the additives that the companies add that does the job. E.g techron from Caltex etc. These companies in order to make you part with ya $$$$ put more stuff into to the higher octane fuel.
From engineering or science perspective, more additives means less of the combustible fuel which means less power.
Actually for turbo cars or even naturally inspirated engines, jus before servicing (change engine oil and oil filter), drive at high rev say ard 3500-4500rpm for about 5-10 min.
Additionally, try not to drive till fuel tank is near empty as 'fine' sediments might get into the engine. Generally, it is not a problem if you do not pump in Malaysia as fuel quality here in Spore is good.

-� there is no setting but I went ahead to install a car alarm "upgrade", Steelmate 838IIB to "overcome" this problem and my car now "auto locks" all doors once I step on my brakes when I have started my car.� Do note that this ONLY stops ppl from opening your door from the outside but it doesn't prevent passengers from opening the doors from the inside.� Apparently this is some Euro safety feature which allows passengers to "escape" and not be trapped inside a car in times of any accidents/fires.

I booked my QashQai 1.2T in early May. Got my COE on the first round a few days later. Bidded for 2 digit plate, did not get. Bidded for 3 digit plate. Got it. Could have got my car in end May or early June but was away on holiday. Just returned a few days ago. Got my car yesterday. So far so good.

1. The primary reading for my analogue speedometer is in mph. I was told this is the same for all QQs. I wondered why since UK is supposed to have gone metric. Then I read that even though they have gone metric, they are a confused lot, still using mph for road speed. Anyway, if this is the reason, why is the analogue speedometer in QQ 2.0 different, in km/h?

2. The radio reception is rather bad. A lot of "shhh..shh.." sound. Maybe it is due to the rain yesterday. Or maybe due to poor installation when I changed the antennae to the "sharkfin" type. I will check again today.
for mine seems to be ok, but not sure why in Woodlands, radio while audible but slight distortions can be heard.

3. If you turn off radio, you turn off GPS voice. I want GPS voice without radio. My solution is to change input from Radio to Aux. Any better solution?

4. In my other car, Toyota Harrier, all the doors automatically lock when I drive off. My daughter complains that this does not happen in the QQ. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

I believe the port inside center arm rest, is not on�continuously, so when the engine is off, it stops charging. only the socket outside is on permanently. if you are concern�about battery depleting, use the center one.

Finally got my night shade 1.2 QQ after booking it in Feb as I wanted to wait till my old car is scraped.
Love the car so far but 2 small issues.
1. The suspension seems to be making a bit of noise, when going over humps and when driving along uneven road surfaces. A bit of light creaking and knocking but certainly annoying for a new car.�Any idea what could be the problem? Di I need to fix it ASAP or can wait till 1k servicing?1k will reach very fast, wait till then feedback if you are particular about the noise.
2. My SE included the auto fold mirror for me but when I locked all doors , the mirrors folded themselves automatically when I was driving.
It seems the auto fold is activated by the locking of car doors. Is there a way to set it such that the mirrors won't auto fold when the car is moving and I locked the doors?shouldn't happen this way, makes no sense at all. feedback to TC. I have auto-fold as well, but only activated when i locked the car, not the doors when driving. tested already.

Additionally, try not to drive till fuel tank is near empty as 'fine' sediments might get into the engine. Generally, it is not a problem if you do not pump in Malaysia as fuel quality here in Spore is good.

When you pump petrol, isn't it stirring up the fine sediments? I believe the pump pressure is pretty high to mix up the sediments at the bottom.
I agree with Eric. QQ 1.2 is optimised for 95 Ron so extra is not needed. Yes you feel a little more power but engine is also rougher, louder and fuel consumption is also higher.
Between Esso and Shell, the former is smoother and quieter; but the latter is more torquey, louder and more thirsty

I opposite... pump Esso 95 got knocking and significant turbo lag. Shell 95 gives me a smoother acceleration and slightly better FC. But so far seems like only I experienced this. Haha.

I tried shell 95 for 2 straight tanks and registered lower FC, manage only 12+km/l as compared to my normal 13+km/l.
I switch back to esso95 and got my FC back again.
When you pump petrol, isn't it stirring up the fine sediments? I believe the pump pressure is pretty high to mix up the sediments at the bottom.

Modern cars shouldnt worry about petrol sediments as all have fuel filter to do the job well.�
May need to change filter at a shorter interval if one pumps regularly in Malaysia.

Bro, not sure what brand DVR u got but when I bought my QQ in Jan 2015 I was given the Dabonda Legend (front only)...which was really hopeless and the blinking light kept flashing at a frantic pace until I'm not even sure if the camera is recording or it's just too hot and about to explode.

Got mine changed to Thinkware F750, a bit expensive but very happy with it's performance for last 9 months or so...excellent full HD recordings (and I now record both front and back). It comes with an easy to use app so you don't need to take out the SD card and look for a laptop to download video clips.

You can Google for it and I think there are a few places to get it installed.� They will have to remove your current DVR and re-do the wiring (which was total crap when the guy opened up the panel and showed me how "solid" TC did in terms of the wiring for my Dabonda Legend...haha)

Bro, DVR must get good one coz nowadays got lots of crazy drivers out there and we never know when we need our camera to record down "stunts" by them. Just last week, there was an idiot in a Honda Stream who was roadhogging on CTE at 70kmh on lane 1. When I signaled him to move left and eventually overtook him from the left, he was not happy and started tailgating me and then overtook me and started braking.� I finally drove to his left, signaled to him that my DVR has recorded all these...he looked stunned and quickly drove off....haha

Recently, I can hear some rattling sound at the driver side of the dashboard when the car is moving at between 50 to 60 and when making a small right turn. Not sure any bros or sis have encountered this issue? It sounds like a cardboard is vibrating.

Some say its the loose wires behind the glovebox. In my case last time, the glovebox compartment door was loose.. so loud rattle over bumpy road.�

No harm to drive to your regular TC service centre and ask them check the chassis or drive shaft. May have to tighten up some loose parts or change bearings. Just a guess.
Been driving my QQ1.2 for around 6 to 7 weeks already and last Friday, my tyre on the driver side got punctured and tyre totally flat.
Called a mobile service and the guy came and mend the tyre. He said the leak is at the side wall (looks like a crack) and i have to change a new tire. He also said he came from another side when he helped another QQ owner mend his tyre, also 1 month old.
He commented that Continental tires seem to have this problem as the side wall is soft and prone to puncture. In the end i drove to City Tyre at Lavender and they changed to Yokohama (front 2 tires) for me. Tire shop guy also said the same thing about Conti tyres
So now i have a pair of Yokohama and a pair of Contis.

Yes, price includes installation...but they charge $20 for removing our old camera...and they'll show you the mess of wires hidden in the panel...haha... u will faint when u see how "champion" the TC third-party installer of our dashcams do the wiring... Even if ZMC didn't charge me for taking out the old cam, I would also have given the chap money just to help me remove the horrifying mess of wiring...haha

Thinkware uses an app...so u can watch when u sync your mobile app with the dashcam, thru its wifi mode... then download and keep any clips u want or may use in the future.

nope... it does not come with optional battery pack... but I have been using it since Sep 2015 with no issues at all.� you can set the min battery level for which the cam will stop recording so it won't drain the battery until flat.

For your info, using our stock battery from Tan Chong and setting min voltage at 11, I could easily record approx. 36hrs before cam "shuts down"...so no issue for overnight parking mode...

I think different users different experiences ba. I have had a lot of Continental tires over my last 3 cars over a period of 5 years at least, all the CSC3 / CSC5 stood up very well. Good grip, decent wear & tear, relatively affordable prices. I tried changing to Michelin PS2/PS3 but very noisy. My current one also using CSC5 no complains.. somemore I am high mileage user with 30,000km per year at least.
