According to latest Euro 2016 website, Emre Can (defender) took a full part in contention to start next game. Mats Hummel had second yellow during the recent Ger-Ita encounter; so he will not be eligible. Bastian Schweinsteiger is facing a race against time to return to full fitness. Sami Khedira has also been ruled out of Germany' semi-final.

If chosen, Can would probably be playing alongside Jerome Boateng, Jonas Hector and Benedict Howedes.

Germany vs France will be looked upon as the real "final". A "Must watch" occasion.

08 July 2016 - 05:52 PMKtglfcLiverpool managerJurgen Klopp says it is hard to put his joy into words aftersigning a new long-term contract with the Reds in a deal that is expected to see the German stay at Anfield until the summer of 2022.

Owners Fenway Sports Group have been so impressed with the German, who guided predecessor Brendan Rodgers squad to the Europa League and Capital One Cup finals, that they approached him about an extension in order for him and them to be able to plan for the future.

Klopp was initially contracted to 2018 with the option of another year, but hes impressed the clubs hierarchy so much that theyve felt the need to tie him down to a long-term deal.

08 July 2016 - 07:59 PMLala81 08 July 2016 - 08:12 PMKtglfcSince the start of Klopp's reign at Anfield, no team has created more chances in the Premier League than Liverpool

Stars can be created. We dont really need to sign a big name. Keegan was created, Rush was created. Only Dalglish was already a star at Celtic. Torres has reputation but he wasnt a star. Suarez was another one, but negative reputation with handball on the line to save Uruguay

So now it is up to Klopp to turn the players to stars, but yet remind humble, committed, and form part of the team than thinking they are super big deal stars.

I think he was shocked at how the players played so badly. I bet he didnt expect them to be so poor, especially on a major cup final. The Uefa cup final itself is more than enough motivation for the players to perform but somehow they let everyone down. Klopp said: "If you want to have proof of the different ways that football can work you only have to look at the European Championships. There were wonderful examples of what football really is - about building a team, creating a bond between the team and supporters. When Iceland were playing, when Wales were playing, that was the best example of how football can work.

19 July 2016 - 11:24 AMTonyhawk2i've watched the 3 friendlies (or at least most of) and have the following thoughts. it feels like he put out the "stronger" team in the first halves

1. Karius has had little to do. But he did have a lapse in concentration last game agst wigan. otherwise, ok when called upon.
2. matip looks decent, but cant judge frankly. him + lovren together cut out most crosses easily, as expected. But its pre-season agst lower oppo.
3. the left side is still weak defensively. mane was experimented on the left in front of moreno once (in the fleetwood game i think), i think thats the best we have for now. putting coutinho there doesnt work for me, coutinho + moreno is just asking for trouble.
4. Ejaria caught my eye. i think he's probably why ibe was shipped. honestly, i think his technical ability is ahead of Lallana, i guess thats saying alot.
5. Grujic is a monster. i like what i saw. Big and good technical ability. him + Emre in the middle would be my first choice. this means milner will be shunted to the right again, with no space for henderson/lallana/
6. Woodburn is too young. please let him develop.
7. Ings offers a steady striking option. Firminho is just too inconsistent.
8. i didnt really notice the other kids.

Overall, i think we have a huge squad now, with enough cover on the right and from midfield up. Klavan adds to the cb pool.If wijnaldum can play down the left mid, i think its good enough.

my current first team picks:

Karius
Clyne-Lovren-Matip-Moreno(or Flanno)
Can-Grujic
milner(or lallana)-Coutinho-Mane
Firminho(Ings/Origi)

2. matip looks decent, but cant judge frankly. him + lovren together cut out most crosses easily, as expected. But its pre-season agst lower oppo.Sakho's only problem is he is injured prone. If not i believe he will be first choice with Matip. But I would not rule out Lovren as he is a decent passer and obviously more assertive and aggressive under Klopp. If he plays without a weight on his shoulder he should come good.
3. the left side is still weak defensively. mane was experimented on the left in front of moreno once (in the fleetwood game i think), i think thats the best we have for now. putting coutinho there doesnt work for me, coutinho + moreno is just asking for trouble. The newcastle player we are linked with can play left side. But any of this potential signing, Coutinho, Mane, Lallana, Milner and Firmino can rotate and inter-change with each other. This will allow Klopp to maintain the same system even if one or two of them are injured.
4. Ejaria caught my eye. i think he's probably why ibe was shipped. honestly, i think his technical ability is ahead of Lallana, i guess thats saying alot. There are quite a few youngsters with potential. I suspect Klopp rate Ojo too.
5. Grujic is a monster. i like what i saw. Big and good technical ability. him + Emre in the middle would be my first choice. this means milner will be shunted to the right again, with no space for henderson/lallana/ Still unsure if Klopp will sign a real central midfielder. The newcastle player Wijnaldum can also play in the middle but his best position according to him is behind striker, a no 10.
6. Woodburn is too young. please let him develop.16 years old and still in school.
7. Ings offers a steady striking option. Firminho is just too inconsistent. Wouldnt be surprised if Klopp prefer Firmino and Origi as lone striker role. Your current starting picks you forgot about Sturridge, which I believe tend to slow down attack and counter attack when he has the ball. So If I am Klopp, I will ask Sturridge to concentrate on doing runs and into the box more often. Ings is definitely Klopp's kind of players so I believe he will feature more often than not.
8. i didnt really notice the other kids.Cameron Brannagan is the one with the calmness and technical ability and we have high hopes for him.

I read somewhere that Wijnaldum can play as a midfield 2 in 4-2-3-1 formation, which means he will partner Can in the middle. But I think he will most probably play on the left side of the attacking 3 with Coutinho and Mane. That means Firmino play as striker?

The position of Sturridge and Henderson seem uncertain. Are they going to be in the starting 11? Can Lallana play in a midfield 2 partnering Can? Or Klopp goes for 4-3-3 with Wijnaldam or Grujic on the left, Can in the middle, Henderson or Milner or Lallana on the right with the front 3 of Mane, Coutinho and Firmino? A lot of variables here.
A lot of variables here. if sturridge is fit, he needs to start. gurantee 1 goal every 2 games
firmino and coutihno needs each other to be on top of the game... can create havoc
hence mane and this wijanldum is weird... to expensive to be game changers, as far as i know, will not walk straight into first team..

You asked a good question. Why sign Mane and Wijnaldum? For Mane I feel it is because he can score goals from flanks and he has pace and that will be crucial in transition and counter attack.

As for Wijnaldum, I read that he can bring the ball forward from deep which again will be useful in transition attack.

More importantly, I think Klopp doesnt think Sturridge suit his style of play. He holds the ball too long sometimes playing with his fancy skills, he doesnt make passes quickly, and in transition he can lose the ball easily. Thats why I suggest Sturridge should concentrate in and around the box more than involve in areas that doesnt hurt the opposition. Then maybe he can start regularly.

I see Klopp is looking at Coutinho, FIrmino, Mane and Wijnaldum to provide goals from midfield.

FIrmino and Origi are still my bet for the sole striker role.

2. We target realistic players, not superstars or famous names. Liverpool this name can only go so far. The league position DOESN'T lie

Bismarck was the first of two Bismarck-class battleships built for Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine. Named after Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, the primary force behind the unification of Germany in 1871, the ship was laid down at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg in July 1936 and launched in February 1939. Work was completed in August 1940, when she was commissioned into the German fleet. Bismarck and her sister ship Tirpitz were the largest battleships ever built by Germany, and two of the largest built by any European power.

In the course of the warship's eight-month career under its sole commanding officer, Capt. Ernst Lindemann, Bismarck conducted only one offensive operation, in May 1941, codenamed Rheinbung. The ship, along with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, was to break into the Atlantic Ocean and raid Allied shipping from North America to Great Britain. The two ships were detected several times off
Scandinavia, and British naval units were deployed to block their route. At the Battle of the Denmark Strait, Bismarck engaged and destroyed the battlecruiser HMSHood, the pride of the Royal Navy, and forced the battleship HMSPrince of Wales to retreat; Bismarck was hit three times and suffered an oil leak from a ruptured tank.

the only way can only be up after some outstanding bloke spend 100m without even challenging for top 4

Yes, almost a Lucas Mark 2. When first joined, did decent for a few games, but becos of the expectation mounted on him by you-know-who (for the nickname), he didn't do well and was out in the cold for long spells.

But he persevered and worked hard and did his best when called up, and eventually won over most of the fans, especially in the last 6 mth of his Pool career.

Hope he can get the recognition he deserves at Stoke, and really shine there. But remember to kelong a bit when playing against Pool

Not too sure whether got clause to say that he cannot play against Pool when we meet ... :))
26 July 2016 - 09:54 AMRaymondismActually the only problem i had with Allen is that he missed a few certain goals when arriving in the box with a perfectly timed run.....

other than that, he is a gd player
26 July 2016 - 10:03 AMDaryllim69Not sure with the influx of new signings, how will LFC fared in the upcoming season. Not fanfare, no well known signings but some are real exciting additions. Speed and mobility seems to be what Klopp is looking for when deciding who to sign although availability and willingness to cross over is also very much of a concern.

As in past seasons, I believe that most of our signings (whether they are known good players or not) are good footballers. Question is whether they can play well as a team. Gelling them in with our current crop will be the test but in Klopp, I trust.

I have nothing against BR. I thought he did reasonably ok in the beginning but with the departures of LS and RS, it just became too much for him to handle.

Alas, I sensed that there is hope in the air and a breath of freshness when the new season kicks off.

All the best LFC and hopefully, we can be in the mix to challenge for some honours next season.

Don't think so lah, in this day and time.

We have a number of times when ex-players scored against us (charlie adam, Shelvey, Caroll, etc.), i recall, so unlikely lor...

hee hee hee... actually i quite mean, as i have another problem with him - I wish he is at least 20 cm taller
26 July 2016 - 10:29 AMLala81If he was taller, more dynamic and a better finisher. Given his ball distribution skills, he would be like Luka modric playing for real already. Not transferring to stoke. Lol.Don't think so lah, in this day and time.

Then can pay us 31m instead of 13m lor... or maybe we don't even need to bring in extra reinforcements and sell him...

Agreed that Allen is a good player as proven in Euro 2016.

So when Pool play Stoke this season, let Allen arrive on perfectly time runs or whatever. As long as he misses the goal post that is good enough for me. He will be remembered fondly then.

It's true coz it was reported by echo reporter who followed Liverpool on tour. There is no way Liverpool would allow them to continue to follow if they report nonsense.
Klopp has an issue with his attitude and influence to the squad that's why sent him back to melwood.

my problem was he cost a few goals...

he is too small and gets outmuscled, when in defensive 3rd, we kena a few times.

agreed he is a decent player though but need muscle around him to perform his water carrying job nicely
26 July 2016 - 05:32 PMShortythey just say attitude mah....nvr say gd attitude or bad attitude. watching his latest video of the alcatraz prison, i tink bcos of "too happy" attitude. n mayb bcos he disturb klopp's interview.

Brenda simply destroy his Liverpool Career by labelling him as Welsh Xavi

personally, i always associate Allen as the first batch of Brenda's signings, pple he work with before. it also shows how much(little) brenda knows in the world of football.
Allen is a premiership player, bt i think he needs a team to build round him. which brenda did swansea. but he comes to pool, there is no way to build a team around Allen. Big Fish Swansea = small guppy Pool syndrome.

Thanks for the service to pool, and never badmouthing the club. for that: YNWA

He was so good

they now call Xavi

the Spanish Allen.

28 July 2016 - 11:52 AMBismarckChee bye Cahill scored from corner. Grujic defend like half f**k didn't clear let Cahill head in.
Grujic not happy Liao got yellow card.
28 July 2016 - 11:54 AMBismarckChee bye still the same Liverpool we saw. Klopp better buck up!
28 July 2016 - 11:57 AMShortylike machiam on holiday. i havent been watching fm start...but so far, looks like chelsea still being managed by mourinho. holding quite a defensive line.
28 July 2016 - 12:03 PMBismarckThis grujic really take for granted, thought epl so easy, thought he big size no need to jump with conviction to clear the ball. Better wake up Liverpool coaching staffs. Don't go and think sign tall players means can compete.
