SINGAPORE- A man caused a scare on Sunday by sitting in the middle of a busy road, oblivious to the cars which zoomed past.

The man, believed to be suffering from work-related stress, sat in the middle of the road near Geylang Lorong 27. He was also yelling and wandering on the road, said Mr Sakib Noori, who took a video of the dangerous act.

�

"A man on a bicycle stopped behind this man and tried to direct traffic away from him, but he couldn't because the man kept moving," said Mr Sakib, a 22-year-old student who witnessed the incident from the balcony of a third-floor condominium unit.

�

Mr Sakib said that the man appeared drunk.

�

But the police, who received a call for assistance at about 7.15pm, said he was not drunk. The man was escorted to safety, and no further action was taken, a police spokesman said.

Police said they received a call for assistance at 11.01pm on Monday (Apr 13). Upon their arrival, the body of a 26-year-old man was found lying motionless in a unit of the block. He was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene at about 11.16pm.

Channel NewsAsia understands that both men are siblings. The younger man is Ng Yao Wei and the older one is Ng Yao Cheng. The victim's body is believed to have been found in a bedroom at the Windermere condominium at Choa Chu Kang Street 64.

SINGAPORE - A couple were charged in court on Wednesday with the murder of a woman at a Woodlands flat on Monday morning.

Pua Hak Chuan, 35, and Tan Hui Zhen, 31, allegedly caused the death of Ms Annie Ee Yu Lian, 26, a waitress, at their third-floor unit of Block 878 Woodlands Avenue 8 at 9.38am on Monday.

�

The couple were calm when the charge was read to them in Mandarin.

�

They were remanded at Central police division lock-up with permission to take them out for investigation.

�

�

Ms Ee, who was working in a Japanese restaurant at Causeway Point, addressed Tan as "big sister" and was not related to the couple.

�

Paramedics found her lying on a mattress in a bedroom of the flat.

�

The couple will return to court next Wednesday.
