For your day video, your cam is tilted lower and exposing more black at the bottom. The cam will try to balance up the EV for this thus the brighter areas become more wash out. Dynamic range of cams are limited. Try to expose more outside area and see if theres improvements

Thks bro for the tip. Shall try it out and monitor, cheers! smile.gif

    Hey Bro Xavier,

    thks for the clarifications! smile.gif

Overall, I'm still a satisfied user of Itronics. Now that I know the parameters, will just work around it if I know the lights conditions are challenging. Initially thought if there's some finetuning adjustments that can be made to solve these little niggling issues, then it will further enhance the experience. But nevertheless, its no big deal and I can live with it.

Like the saying goes, "change yourself to suit the environment" and not vice versa. Every car cam will have their pro & cons, just enjoy the pros and work around the cons shall do the job cool.gif

Having an image captured is better than no image at all and lastly, it does not overheat! Great!

Have a good day ahead, cheers!

    Hey Obscurest,

I share the same concerns with you about the lack of indicators too. How I work around it is to switch on the shock sensor alarm. It will sound off 2 short beeps when it sense sufficent shock and will record the video as an Event. As the 100HD is quite sensitive, I'm sure it will sound off during the course of your journey. This, at least to the paranoid me, will indicate that it is running properly. The sound are not too loud and can be easily masked if you turn up the volume of your cdplayer.

    Hope it helps! happy.gif

Happen to find out this when i preparing my microsd card to the installation of the latest finevu firmware. I have read the discussion of the ireland guy & the fellow forumers.

Finevu do actually have a manual video record function which the file will be store inside camcorder folder & photo file will store inside photo folder. The files will remain there until I fully use up the default 10% allocation of the card space.
My file dated April 2012 which I happen to press the button to trigger manual record.

May I know how many days you have tested on the heat stress?

I have the car cam for 2 weeks but approx 1 week in jur island which is the worst case scenario.

So can I safely says is 1 week for heat stress?

Of cos some days gloomy and some days sunny.

Most importantly is that day is really very hot and happen that I use the meter to test the temp inside the car.

If is my previous BlackVue by 12 plus already knock out.

    Thks

And deletion is by file type allocation which can be set from the settings.

Btw, where did you get your English version 1.00.127? I got it from Bro Xavier is only 1.00.118

    Sorry let me rephrase.
What i meant was it will not lock the file, it will still be saved as a event file.
Deletion of event file is again managed by the % allocated for event recording.
Not like what cormie suggested that it will lock the file based on button pressed.

    Yup, no file locking.

thats y i been trying to emphasie to cormie that he should set more % for event recording instead of asking them to do file locking button tongue.gif
File locking will also means the file will not be deleted by the system, stacking of such files will waste disk space.
Thats y file locking button has been considered obsolete already.

Is it??? If I can recall, the basement battery shop quoted me $36 for the Yuasa one. I get from my usual shop, Firstpower, S$26, I ask for discount, she gave me S$25. biggrin.gif Another shop near the escalator one, level 3, Kaichin is the cheapest at $23 for 7.2ah.

At the moment I have event allocated 60%, parking 20% and Normal 20%, hopefully with low sensitivity and 60% of a 32GB card, I won't have another situation where important event is recorded over :)

I still think file lock would be a definite "pro" for the ITB-100HD. Running out of space was never an issue, even with 2GB card (VGA quality so maybe 6 hours) and low sensitivity with my DRS1100. The event file was always there, even months after it happened and still plenty more space for other recording. Even if there was a "lock events over X level of shock" :)

Also, with parking only at 20%, I hope I don't have an important event occur on a busy street with high motion. I have it set to record motion and shock in parking so if a car crashes into me, it will record this shock only as Parking as far as I'm aware? So then if there's a lot of motion and vehicle is parked for a long time, then it will be recorded over with people walking by the car innocently? Maybe I should just switch parking to shock, but it's great to have the motion detection for quiet places!

Might even go 10% for normal, 50 for event and 40 for parking :P

Does anyone know, if a segment is marked as emergency, does it simply save that 1 minute long segment as an emergency after the minute has been recorded. So for example, with each segment being 1 minute, if the next segment starts at 0:01 and you just happen to get impact of a collision at the 0:01 point, will it only save the next 59 seconds as an emergency event and not the last 30 seconds or so (leading up to the impact), meaning it may only keep the moment of collision but not the evidence leading up to how it happened? I'm used to the emergency saving 15 seconds before and after the event so not sure how it works on the ITB-100HD?

If the event occurs within 5 seconds of the new recording (ie. before 00:05), the previous recording will also be marked as an Event file. This allows pre-event situation to be saved as Event file.

If the event occurs within 5 seconds before the current recording ends (ie. after 00:55), the next recording will be also be marked as an Event file. This allows the post-event situation to be saved as Event file as well.

Of course, the current recording in which the event occurred will be marked as Event file. So you may have 1 or 2 Event files depending on the timing.

Hmmm... I have updated to v1.00.127 and so far one issue that keeps bugging me. It keeps asking me to "check time settings" every now and then (once or twice per day). Noticed the night recording brightness has default gone up 1 level. Comparing real footage captured last night as compared to few nights ago (before firmware upgrade), I am not sure if I like the new default brightness. It creates a lot of "hallow" to the extend that can't even see clearly license plate of cars which drove pass in middle of the night.

Day footage somehow has slight improvement but I am not sure if it's just my imagination. Oh, footage in semi-light conditions like shopping mall carparks seem to improve in sharpness.

I am switching back to v1.00.118 to see if the "check time settings" reminder will be gone.

    Shochong,

If the CR-300HD is unable to hold time, is it the build-in battery is dead? If so, covered under warranty (unit abt 3 mths old only)?

    Aloha Xavier bro,

Just wanna drop a quick note to thank you for the great camera recommended, along with the fantastic workshop which installed it. The ITB-100HD seems to live up to expectations so far, and I'm thoroughly pleased so far with the vids i captured for the 3 hours since installation today. smile.gif

I do have a few questions which i hope you can assist with :

    1. Read in the manual that cautioned against pulling out the SD card or disconnecting the power supply to the unit when the unit is recording. If so, what precautionary measures should i take before removing the SD card ? (My cam is currently set on 'auto parking mode' - so i think it's still recording after i switch off the engine).

    2. Will new versions of the firmware (ITB-100HD) be available on your website ? Otherwise do advise how I can obtain the latest firmware.

Thanks bro. Will monitor the cam's performance for a week or two, and will provide feedback to the folks here - but otherwise, this cam really rocks. My son loves it too. thumbsup.gif

Unable to hold time is due to firmware issue bro, no because of built in battery. U can still plug out the connector & manually power up by pressing n holding the power button.
Do a format on the card & reinstall the firmware. wink.gif

Pull out the connector slowly, let the unit power off until the red light indicator in PWR is completely off. Then remove the card. Same thing insert the card before powering it up.

    2. Will new versions of the firmware (ITB-100HD) be available on your website ? Otherwise do advise how I can obtain the latest firmware.
I will keep my customers posted if there is new firmware.

Hi, I had just bought the Sandisk 32 Class 10 SD card ($35.80) for my ITB-100HD. So far so good.
One thing to take note is that when you first insert the SD into ur PC and use the ITB-100HD software to format, you will not be able to save any settings (eg Insensitivity, GMT and etc). You will be prompted with "unable to save parameter" error. You need to insert ur SD card into ur ITB-100 camera and let it record first. It will create a Setup folder. Then take out the card and re-insert into ur PC to set and save ur new setting.

Then take out the card and re-insert into ur PC to set and save ur new setting.

where did u buy your Sandisk 32Gb Class10 for $35.80?

Thanks for the guidance too for our fellow itronics users.

You are welcome bro. I did not read the manual, I just found out by myself as I bring my laptop to my car to try it out.

This is a personal feedback guys.
The BV400HD isn't as good as it seems, the
lens fogging is back again, even after I did a exchange with
Shochong, and diligently remove the camera from the car
everyday when I park under the sun (I cover my car also)
and install camera back in the evening before leaving my workplace.

The lens still fogs. I'm resigned to my faith of this product,
and I don't have the time of day to keep sending it back to
Shochong, meeting up with him to collect, waiting for a replacement.
My option is most probably to purchase another camera online and get it
    done and over with, hopefully.

And yes, I have cleaned the lens with a lens cleaning cloth.

    Hi bros,

Can share what are the areas to consider while getting a car recorder? I have researched some online and most concentrate on the following:

    wide angle
    resolution (HD)
    parking recordability
    GPS
    recording time

Other than price, what should I look at?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on ur budget and needs. There is no all-in-one car cam out there yet. Get one that most suits ur needs n budget.

    My basic requirement is :

    1) HD quality recording
    2) Wide angle lens (120degrees enough)
    3) LCD screen

No refund, thats the best option they offer as warranty depreciated also.
Its good enough for them to offer a new model swap rather than sending the dr400 back forever.
Don't think those who got their set from ebay can have a better solution offered like this.
Please note that I am not representing Blackvue for this offer. I am only trying to find & fight for the best solution for my customers.

What for, that will be downgrading to a lower quality camera when you paid for a HD camera.
If that's the latest option, I hate to see what their future option will be. shakehead.gif

Shochong less then a year so much issues, exchange and I remove everyday, less then what, 3months.
No sun still got fogging of lens. So the fogging is not due to the sun, it's really due to the heat generated
by the camera that causes the lens to be like that, thus cannot say fogging, fogging is caused by humidity,
in this context, the lens is burnt.

Shochong, the lens, I believe is not glass, thus this is where the problem lies.
I will still use it till I decide on a replacement unit. And will use this for rear cam for my other car.

what makes u think it cost far lesser? actually i can tell u the cost price difference is only $40. Warranty depreciated they still let us change to Dr380 at around $40 difference, i think they are pretty fair. If everyone ask to downgrade to DR380 & refund, i think the manufacturer will have a big headache.
    its DR380 not DR350.
Those getting from other source or local also keep swapping n changing, end of 1 year warranty also will give up.
Anyway those who RMA have swapped to DR380, really no point to keep sending back & make replacement until they found a permanent solution for DR400.

Not think, look at the resolution of this compared to the 400.
Yep, so by 12 months, still got same problem also LPPL.
No such thing as lasting for longer then 12 months, and if you keep swapping
back and forth, every time is $12 shipping charge, apart from petrol and time wasted
That's why I go online buy cheap, who cares, spoil, throw and get a new one, can last one year
kow poon better then ship back to Korea, go pick it up, install, use not too long again same issue if not
    something new comes up.

eg. 6 times exchange within a 12 month period, $60, petrol and time added = ?

Thanks! Mine is from AD not sure whether they will swap to DR380, can't see any DR380 on their website.

Even if they swap to DR380 i will install it to the rear. Really no confidence in Blackvue anymore.

Sounds like ITB is the best option since it can use back the powermagic. Will call u when i am ready to get it.

Too bad, I choose to try out one first, apart from the other fact I didn't want the
workshop to be fiddling with my new car due to warranty issues.
    None the wiser.

Er..i was really double f**ked, bought 2 to install on both cars . U can really understand the frustration and time loss i went through

ITB using same plug as BV400?

Yea bro, thanks for your understanding. I also feel very paiseh to my customer for their DR400, so i tried very hard to nego with them to change another model, its at least the 5th times i complained then they offer DR380 as the solution. Imagine if i keep RMA for my customers within the year, time spent really bigcry.gif .

Yes DR400 same wiring as ITB, can be plugged in. wink.gif

Haiz...who would have thought that car cam also can overheat, except some mic and dr400.

Prior to dr400, i was using caidrox cd3000 and it works flawlessly, only thing is, it is not full hd. But then at that time full hd dvr is unheard of.

Agree. I rma 3rd or 4th time liao. Only can thk xavier for gettin dr380 as soln. N hopefully this set doesnt screw up.

You still got time to go 3rd and 4th time. 2nd time and I sianz already.
Initial usage, recordings were great, this is something I cannot deny about,
1st one was in the sun, ok, heat issue caused it to screwup, but now, remove from car
sill like that. No hope, how many times I change it, it will come to the same sheet.

    Time to change camera.

Thumbs up for you bro! thumbsup.gif At least you are responsible by not selling products which have known issues to customer.

I will be RMAing my DR400 for the 3rd time. The so call upgraded version is still the same. Only less than 2 months, set to 15fps, no parking under hot sun and keep in glovebox yet still have overheating. Fedup!

May be getting the ITB from you but would like to know can i use back my powermagic to plug in the ITB? I don't want to dismantle the powermagic and mess up the car's wiring.

But sometimes there is still 1 or 2 who DIE DIE want it even i told them about the overheating issues. lol. but those die die wan it i also dont want to sell already.
