that speed limit is 60 if i'm not wrong, so he's at maximum speed or maybe faster...

the fellow in front didnt even bother to signal that he wants to filter... at least me or those behind could have filter and move on....

He/she don't dare to signal. If he/she did, the queue cutting move sure fail.
He/she was trying to catch the queue by surprise. biggrin.gif

    Hi bro,
Thanks for the valueable info, sorry i m abit noob in this mic lead acid battery thingy, for Connection to the DR400, how is the connection done?
Would appreciate if u could also do update us how long can it last continously for yr 2 dr400, and a rough price ranges for the battery.
    Cheers! thumbsup.gif

    Bro Sochong

Oh. mic means "made in china". Basically the connection is:

    1. You take the other end of blackvue power cable (the other end without the plug that goes into dr400 socket) and shave off the rubber hosing.
    2. You will know see one positive and one negative wire.
    3. Solder the each wire onto a metal ring
    4. Fit the positive ring to the positive terminal and the negative ring to the negative terminal of the lead acid battery.

The shop did all four steps for me (i left out one step where there is a fuse that burns at 1Amp because that will be confusing).

There is another bro 5876 on the other thread "Blackvue users come in" who did a two way switch which I chose not to do for my own reasons.

Can u post an electrical diagram???

Currently running my BV using lipo batts. But have to remove them every 10-12hrs. It draws abt 3000mah within 10-12hrs. I have four packs of these lipo so I remove them n bring home to charge.

I would suggest you tilt it down a bit more so that the cam "sees" some of your dash which is darker so that the over screen will be brighter.

    Ok bro.

Btw, your current draw is consistent with my measurement. In normal recording mode with led on, the multimeter read 300mAh.

    Blackvue DR400G-HD has heat issues.

DR400G support up to 32G microSD card. At Full HD, continuous recording, it can store up to 10hours of video footage. It can be set to continuous recording or movement(G-sensor and motion sensor) recording.

How long the battery last depends on the capacity of ur battery and other electrical devices connected to the battery. Remember, ur alarm system draws power 24/7 also.

Anyone used a LUKAS Pro here?

I find the extra filter (lens, anti-reflection) is cool for recording during day and night.

Any reviews or feedback to add?

    Thanks a zillion!!!

    update 1 on 231111: jus sharing -

got 400 for front & 350 for back w pwr magic since ytd. initial recording ok; bv software installed on pc ok, except 350 one play on bv s/w all black screen but can play w gom player; no issues w settin up for both sets.

backside itchy go format 350 sd card, then dvr kept reportin "pls chk ur sd card" (actually referred to manual later was due to nvr upgrade firmware (NOTE: nvr insert BLANK sd card into bv dvr); now ok liao.

this evening 400 "hang", indicated by continuous purplish light, even after unplugged. waited for lights off b4 remove sd card to do format using sd formatter 3.1 (ALWAYS use pittasoft recommended sd card formatter) & firmware upgrade.

now everythin back to norm, fingers crossed.

overall stylish, value for money (due to GB good offer by bro Xavier) & well-build product, only let down by not so stable firmware. also 400 feels between warm & hot, 350 slight warm; both body r plastics.

update 2 on 301111: everythin still normal, except intermittent gps --> sometimes start engine to drive car no gps light, sometime there's gps light.

update 3 on 011211: hang in morning (continual purple light); loaded 301111 version dr400g-hd sw; back to normal for time being.

update 4 on 081211: GPS light not on for 2 days when driving wif mix of tunnel & surface roads, each for about 10 mins duration (previously GPS took 2 mins to light up (activate))

update 5 on 261211: got a replacement set due to intermittent gps (NOTE: shipping cost is SGD30 as claimed by Xavier; only ship back main set & not whole box; so try whatever u can 1st e.g. reformat & retry before confirm to ship back)

Update 6 on 100112: gps not working for a couple of days

Update 7 on 080212: all is well now, but gps may not on due to v-cool n location?

Tks Xavier for his patience n assistance during above period.

So far, prior to the firmware upgrade, all was good, only date time wasn't set,
now with firmware upgrade, will monitor and let you know if anything, I hope not. smile.gif

Get DOD-tech range of car cams then. I recommend GSE520, GSE550 and GSE580.

    http://www.dod-tec.c...t.php?cat_1st=4

Any recommendation for any model that's small and without LCD to keep it small & compact (currently using DR400) ? How about DOD GS600 ? But I'm afraid the mounting is "too vertical" and may not suitable for hatchback rear camera.

Finevu CR-200 too expensive $449 and DR400 (hesistating cause it's running hot and reboot/reset randonly but love it's form factor and video quality).

    Thanks

    update 1 on 231111: jus sharing -

got 400 for front & 350 for back w pwr magic since ytd. initial recording ok; bv software installed on pc ok, except 350 one play on bv s/w all black screen but can play w gom player; no issues w settin up for both sets.

backside itchy go format 350 sd card, then dvr kept reportin "pls chk ur sd card" (actually referred to manual later was due to nvr upgrade firmware (NOTE: nvr insert BLANK sd card into bv dvr); now ok liao.

this evening 400 "hang", indicated by continuous purplish light, even after unplugged. waited for lights off b4 remove sd card to do format using sd formatter 3.1 (ALWAYS use pittasoft recommended sd card formatter) & firmware upgrade.

now everythin back to norm, fingers crossed.

overall stylish, value for money (due to GB good offer by bro Xavier) & well-build product, only let down by not so stable firmware. also 400 feels between warm & hot, 350 slight warm; both body r plastics.

update 2 on 301111: everythin still normal, except intermittent gps --> sometimes start engine to drive car no gps light, sometime there's gps light.

update 3 on 011211: hang in morning (continual purple light); loaded 301111 version dr400g-hd sw; back to normal for time being.

update 4 on 081211: GPS light not on for 2 days when driving wif mix of tunnel & surface roads, each for about 10 mins duration (previously GPS took 2 mins to light up (activate))

update 5 on 261211: got a replacement set due to intermittent gps (NOTE: shipping cost is SGD30 as claimed by Xavier; only ship back main set & not whole box; so try whatever u can 1st e.g. reformat & retry before confirm to ship back)

Update 6 on 100112: gps not working for a couple of days

Update 7 on 080212: all is well now, but gps may not on due to v-cool n location?

Tks Xavier for his patience n assistance during above period.

Update 8 on 100212: during very hot afternoon, HD set got noisy, purplish & streaking recording, ended with a hang on 1st occasion & ended with "pls check SD card" repeated prompt this afternoon; also noted GPS has stopped working altogether.

Update 9 on 150212: confirmed HD set gets noisy, purplish & streaking recording when car parked in open during clear mid-day. Re-format with full overwrite & swapped to rear windscreen & mount upside down - recording & GPS came on despite v-cool film installed on windscreen (may not be solar film issue; GPS sensor mounted at bottom internal?). Will leave it this way for monitoring 1st.

    Hi Bro Sochong.

I think i heard you mention that we can stick DSX cameras onto windscreen using 3M tape. Must we custom make a flat surface on the DSX for that? Reason why i ask is that DSX doesnt appear to have a flat surface for 3M tape.

    Hi ShoChong,

Just some queries with regards to your new product DSX05BHD

    1. it was mentioned Full HD, is it 15fps or 30fps ? Selectable ?

    2. Can it operate without the LCD attached ?

    3. There's seems to be a LED button same as Blackvue DR400, can it be turn off via setting ?

    4. Does it come with a speaker that inform the driver of parking/normal mode like DR400 ?

    5. Confirm no GPS or G-sensor right ? Just pure motion detection via video right ?

    6. What is the file size like 1min, 2min, 3min, others or selectable like DR400 ? And does it record seamlessly without missing footage between differentn files ?

    7. What kind of video codec is it using ? H.264 like DR400 ?

    8. Does it run as hot as DR400 ?

Laslty, any sample video of day and night shot ?

I didnt say its better than dr400hd la bro, one cent one product, this one not even half the price of a dr400, how u want it to be as sharp as dr400, not to mention better.
Its cheaper than dr350 but yet better than VGA quality.
At least can see license plate in front at a distance of around 2 car length, consider value for money already.
Fisheyes lens at the side sure wont be so sharp.
Car dvr video footage is for claims, not to flim buildings..
You wan super sharp, buy dr400 lo. haha tongue.gif

Have u tested the actual writing speed of the class 6 with h2testw?
If its not 10mb/s at least then its not the fastest sd card compared to a normal class 10.
Maybe u can run the speed test & post the SS here, also wanted to buy the 32gb ultraspeed disk.

so if i'm interested to buy a car video recorder, which should i go for?
i think full hd isn't a requirement, most of these china recorders are just upscaling the video only

I also used to be like yourself for checking around the market with the same expectation & finally got a good deal & paid S$ 90 for an full HD / Night Vision / Motion detect type "black box".

If use the built-in Li-Ion battery (Nokia mobile bty pack) can last about 3 hrs during motion detection mode & on car bty mode upon ACC "on" (Engine on). (If connect directly to car battery, MUST upsize your car bty capacity - BUT limitation was upsize available was just 5Ah to 10Ah available due to car bty compartment size constraint or else life span & capacity of your exisitng car bty will be deterirated very fast; alternatively consider to purchase an 17Ah, 12V genunie deep cylic bty to support your HD cam but the disadvantage was MUST disconnecf from your car (HD cam) & bring to office / home to recharge every 2 days interval if desired to run daily power supply to your HD cam at night of which was around 8 to 12 hrs daily run-time)

My standard 4GB SD card can last me about 4 days before next over-lap while travelling (No over-lapping of recording inteference at all) of which my nature of driving was about 2 to 3 hours on the road daily.

Everything else is fine so far, so in parked mode under the sun, I'll
just turn it off, since in the office, and I ordered in a car cover which

nothing, but even in singapore we tend to have an extremely small team of engineers for extremely large projects

i've saw the internals of some of these cams and they really arn't all that complex, just a few chips soldiered together. i really don't think that you need more than 1 person to design something like that.

not that a 1 person design is surely bad, but my point is that these devices are actually cheap to design and produce.
thats why i'd rather pay slightly more for an european make from a reputable brand.
i was actually very intent on getting the blackvue until i read all the complaints
