I am very sure my blackvue dr400 internal battery is sufficient. hmmm.. now reformatting my sd card and observe tomorrow.

tapping to your car battery for extended periods of time will cause your battery to drain naturally.
As for the cigarette port -> usb port, i doubt there's one. you can try google-ing

Anyway, if one thinks someone is parking at his/her doorway, and feels unhappy about it, he/she should just call TP to issue summon, or tow the vehicle away. Vandalism is a not the way to solve a parking problem.
nothing much the police can do about it .... based on the past 2 cases reported in the newspapers.
1. SLK parked at a road bend .... then comes a bus ... cannot make the turn ... held up traffic for a very long time ... police come, just issue warning or something.
2. car parked under HDB, also in a bend, caused another behind cannot move ... the behind car horn or something but the car infront got upset and got out of car and just stood there. car behind call police, police come but the front car still refuse to budge until later.

This is a china website so pls buy with caution. There are fake SD cards in China. 32GB can turn out to be 1GB only.

even in SG i kenah twice already ... bought 2 x 32gb cards on 2 separate occasions ... turn out to be 1 gb usable only !! and i paid more than S$20 for each of them.

I think the difficulty in testing the mSD cards is that they are all not made equal. Different brands have different margin built in and even within the same brand/model, the margin varies. The class rating only gives the minimum sustained write speed and some brands like Sandisk will promote that their product can do "peak" write speed of 30mb/s but it is only rated at CL6 which they will not mention at all on the packaging. I benchmarked my "budget" Patriot CL10 SD card and I get consistently above 12.8mb/s.
The h-something can show the writing speed alsosideline abit, i know there is this "h-something" s/w to test the integrity of the sdcard, but is there a s/w to cfm the speed of the sdcard whether its class 4, 6 or 10 ??

I'm new to DR400HD. Just installed today. Has switched off all LED and enabled auto switch to parking. I'm on 1.037 english downloaded from blackvue.com.sg.
A question, when i switch off the car engine, blackvue will say "Blackvue is now shutting down". Does this mean blackvue is really switching off or is it going into the parking mode?

really switching off.
sounds like u're powering the unit through the lighter outlet or using a direct wire switched by the ignition.
if u'r using the power magic, the BV unit should be direct powered by the battery and won't (or shouldn't) power off when u switch off the ignition. the PM will keep the unit going until your battery gets drained to a trigger level.
I guess this means installation issue. just done it this morning by kelvin at car beauty. maybe I should pop by for him to rectify.

yeah just check with him its connected to the direct battery or ignition fuse.
a lot of installers will recommend the latter as they don't want your battery to go flat.
But that's what the PM is for :)
I'm using PM. that's why I was puzzled when the camera announced its shutting down.
Most probably, the installer connect the PM to acc instead of direct batt connection. Go back to them to rectify it.

This installer wouldnt wana do such mod. I did request, but he didnt want to. So I asked him to remove the wiring for my switch which was connected directly to batt.
My fren bought from one of the Wow distributor, that shop more than willing to connect a three way switch for my fren. So he can have three choices, either off it or acc(start n stop recording when engine start n stop) or always on.
Probably ShoChong should speak with his fren to offer such option when installing PM.
Most of the workshop will do the standard installation of power magic without switch, addition of switch can be requested upon installation. Of cos additional charge will be incurred like $10 for the switch. Feel free to discuss with kelvin, he will be more than willing to advise:)This installer wouldnt wana do such mod. This is a china website so pls buy with caution. There are fake SD cards in China. 32GB can turn out to be 1GB only.
Look at the price n vendor name before deciding. If I buy, I would choose the ones close to prices here in SG.

Got mine installed last week by Kelvin...Saw another guy installing the same model as me...just that mine took a little longer while than his to install...Guess it is the complex cabling...he could not locate the source he can tap from..lol...was there for nearly 1 hr...the guy before me...bearly 20 mins, it is done...
So far so good n I dun hv a spare microSD so cant remove it... When you move on...it says parking mode disabled (smthing like that)..sometimes I forgot to switch to parking mode...but when I return after half an hr...heard this msg again..

Bro, so far so good for me with the class 4 card. My class 10 card just got send out by DHL this morning.
Now the camera will say "Parking mode disabled" when i drive off and "Switching to Parking mode" about 5-10min after i switched off.

Using for more than a month 24/7. Still okI am currently using the HD400, good so far no problems except that it gets hot, actually a little too hot for my liking. Not warm but hot. Not sure if it will overheat and catch fire not as I am connecting to the PM and leaving it on for 24hrs.

Could be also due to angle.
did you remember to remove the protective plastic that also covered the lens?
is the window/solar film area in front of the lens clean?
u can also zoom in using the BV software on PC... maybe can see the licence plate number. Not that it's crucial... you've recorded more than enough information about the lorry! :LOL

Unplug the adapter plug, wait for few mins n plug back the adapter again. Then it came back to life again, she told me "Blackvue for your safe driving.........starting normal recording."

Will do a format tonight before putting it in.

I set the parking G sensor to most sensitive. So if I dont walk towards my car, meaning i come from behind. I can hear the unit go beep when i open/close the door (yes its that sensitive).
If i dont hear the beep, i will look at the unit, i will normally see both recording and gps light on.

32GB class 4 i m still thinking its too slow for the required writing speed. the bigger the card, the more memory spaces it needs to access before writing.
So far no complains from those using 16GB class 4, 16GB class 6 & 32 GB class 10 with the latest firmware 1.037..

Nope. I D/L the firmware, plug the microSD card into card reader, start firmware update file, complete, open Blackvue.exe, amend settings, save, remove microSD from card reader, plug into Blackvue DR400G. It works........................until this morning.

when i did a test on my 16gb, it took me quite sometime too but the result was 16gb out of 16gb.
and for my fake cards, it was similar to your results ... 1gb out of 32 gb ... "usable".

Bro i specifically indicated 1gb only. it was way too long for the full 32gb.
I didn't realize until it was around 10gb then I re-ran it under 1gb only.

Seems like alot of bros using the blackvue that uses the micro sd. I'm using the Lukas 3700G that uses the sd card and wonder if I purchase the micro sd and add an adaptor, any issues?

Bro i specifically indicated 1gb only. it was way too long for the full 32gb.
I didn't realize until it was around 10gb then I re-ran it under 1gb only.
But it is 'true 32gb' if thats what you are asking.
so how did you cfm its 32gb usable ?
the 2nd fake card i got, chkdsk show 32gb ... and since i did not have so much time to run the s/w, i placed it in my FHD videocam and just let it record ... and some where around 15 mins only, my videocam reported full !
that was when i started to get worried and then went home and ran the s/w on the card only to find out only 1gb of 32gb is usable.
my first fake card was even worse ... went on a beijing trip ... lost quite a number of pics becoz of the card.

yup ... same here ... got this last monday ... repeated the announcement 3 times over a 15 mins drive !!
using the last f/w and plugged to ciggy socket. cud not be a loose connection as it did not happen again/b4.

My set is on magic cable + latest firmware .. Duno isit due to memory card writing speed or bad set .. I am using the Samsung class6 16gb that comes with the set
