After seeing your post today, it makes me feel utterly disappointed in the way you manage your sales scheme that I decided to register just to leave a feedback for you.
I beleive that the DV008LCD you sold me is the same as:

So judging from your calculation of USD 72.89 * 1.267 conversion fee + 10 = SGD 102.4,
you charged us the old customer at 85% marked up price?

Please do consider all these, cause your doings is making me feel like a 'fool' & it's defintely unfair for old customers like me. Not to mention, its going to affect how the consumer will judge your after-sales services.

Pls understand that 2 mths ago, the price for dv008 is much higher than now. Every week, the prices are dropping for older models like dv008. As new models come out, older models prices also drop alot. Now I am selling dv008 at $130. But in jun to jul. It's $190. Also now due to many MCF members buying fr DX. We have no choice but to sell at their price in order not to lose out to them. Our profit margin now is close to cost. That's really no choice in our case. Sorry if you feel this way about us. One more thing, DX actually refunds customer the return shipping cost. My postage to them for my defective Blackview was S$14. They credit USD14 to my account for the inconvenience!!! I was so happy and used it to buy some other stuff.

For us, if the set is faulty. Just bring it back to us. We will help you shipped back to our manufacturer. You just pay the shipping cost to and back. Some models which DE selling only has 30 days warranty. Blackview is one example. Please go to their link for the dvr and check their specifications. Normally, those with 12 mths manufacturer's warranty will be stated clearly. Those without, will not have any warranty shown in the ad. I already check with them and they say those without the warranty stated, they only offer 30 days. But for us, we will offer you 90 days for those instead.

Why its better to get from us? We will deliver to you and test the set on the spot for you to see. If its faulty, we will exchange with you 1 for 1 within 7 days. If you get from dE, if the set is faulty when you received them or you received the wrong item, you need to send it back. The shipping time already takes 14-21 days and to shipped it back will take even longer plus the time to ship back to you again. Plus the time you queue up at the post office. You can do your maths! Would you want to waste all this time? Might as well as getting the sets from me. Save you the hassle and trouble.

Car cam technology is improving very fast lately, new cam come out every few mths. Like the luohan craze previously. Ppl paid few thousands for that stupid fish. Now u give free also ppl dont want.

We will also be bring in a similar model to DOD GSE580. Its a OEM model from similar manufacturers in China. Almost same functions and design. With GPS and Full HD Recordings. Designs are also similar. Prices are almost 40% cheaper. Coming end or early Oct.

Just received a phone call from my bro. The digital mall in taipei is closed due to the mid-autum holiday. So he unable to compare prices. He got me one GSE580 from one of the shophouses store lining the street. Guess the price!!!

Its NT$6990 per set.

He told me exchange rate is S$1 : NT$22.88, so its abt S$305 per set. Locally available is S$380. I saved S$75!!!

But I think inside the mall may be cheaper cos its more competitive, too bad its close for today.

4. does it have "upside down" playback? (for when you rotate lens from front to back)

5. is the video the H.264 standard?

6. can it operate without the battery inserted? that is direct from wire?

7. how is the firmware installed? via the microSD card?

8. how can the firmware be updated? Is there any such after-sales support?

u must be excited about the GSE580 coming!

It is not full cylinder single piece, it has a lcd screen. Nothing can be removed unless u purposely deconstruct it.

Yes, the lens can be rotated vertically like the milo can size car cam. The mounting bracket ball joint can be adjusted also.

Why no warranty??? Any problems just contact DOD-tec in Taiwan. Just like buying something when u are holidaying overseas. Even the nite market stall Raohe gave me his name card when I bought a led light bulb from him. He told me anything wrong just contact him n send it back to him.

Even JB pirated DVD RM$4 a piece also give u warranty. Just send it back to them n exchange a new piece.

Now thinking how to 'stick' it to the screen without the suction cup...the whole unit with suction cup look so big and unsightly!

For those who has already reserved GSE580 + 16GB SDHC Class 10 unit from me, i need to informed you all that the shipment got delayed. DOD told me that i need to wait for the queue in packing department, however they told me that by this week it will be out. So cross finger, nextweek i should have received it.

Once I bought a digital camera from Audio House and one week later price dropped $100, as they have 30 days return policy, they agreed to offer me $100 discount voucher. Very gentleman.

I bought this Black View from DX. The unit i got was a lady speaking in mandarin.
Anyway was fed up with my set, because it hang often & required to do a reset & my version received was version 1.0.
Anyway, i didnt like the video quality recorded even in broad day light.

Cannot compare Blackview with GSE580 leh. They are both opposite ends of the scale leh.

Not everyone wants to fork out that much for a car cam so they cater to different buyers.

My blackview set did not hang on me when I used it for five days. Never had to reset. I find the video quality is acceptable, in fact much better than some of my other earlier car cams.

U will have to see the online vendor reputation when buying online. Do the basic checks n read other reviews left by other customer.

For me its not a hassle to send stuff back. I have been sending stuff back to vendors for repairs since five or six yrs ago. My office is next to a post office, so I just drop by during lunch time and get it sent off. And get free doorstep delivery when the vendor returns it to me.

I play r/c boat, it is very uncommon in SG esp electric powered ones. Parts are mostly from USA, Europe, China(replicas) or HK(cheaper versions). If the stuff is spoilt, have to send back to vendor, there is zero support here in SG. Its a niche market.

i think it's a fair, and pretty smart, strategy.. similar to the "we match if you find equivalent selling lower elsewhere" used by some of the larger stores. but it will peeve those who don't shop around, and even more so if the difference is "a lot".

Still... in business, perhaps it's also important that we operate to encourage repeat customers? Based on own experience, you do a bit of that i think, but just a bit.

Personally, I was so put off by Starhub Cable when they mugged around with their plans mid-term in a contract period and then tried to bulldoze the changes through. They don't have a lot of competition yet, so I had to maintain a subscription but I made sure I pared it to the barest minimum. Its the same with digital cameras that has digital zoom feature which I also disabled. Its using interpolation to zoom in on an object.

I am not sure whether i am correct. Its just like stretching the image or video to be display in a bigger screen / LCD. I believe by doing so, you could see squarish pixel. Same when you use those normal camera to take a picture of yourself. Then you print it e.g A3 size. You can see pixelation. Please correct me if i am wrong.

So far I only have one interpolation model. DV009LCD. I did state interpolation and ask customers to be sure if the video taken is ok for them.
