1st bid, damn COE went to Audi2016.

I know someone who bought XT at $13X last year when COE was higher.

Nope, mine is NA dark grey.

If COE softens to below $35K, NA should drop below $100K.

The car body colours quite limited but dark grey is nicer than black.
Black Diamond refers to extra sporty finishings & leather seat.

Got my XT a week ago, clocked ~500km. My experience with XT so far:

    - Came from saloon, XT sits higher, great viewwith good forward visibility on the road.

    - Compared to my previous ride (06' Mercedes E, 160+hp/240NM), road/wind noise insulation of XT is acceptable. But,have notdriven on NSHW yet. So, can't tellhow XT scorein road/wind noise at expressway speed.

-XT's 230+hp/350NM power is best deliveredsmoothly. I think FC will deterioratessignificantly under hard acceleration driving style. Overall,IMHO, FC is not the strength of XT.

    - The AWD performs well, considered its height. Corners feel wheels well planted, with very little body roll. So far, not observed anyrattling sound, indicated a well built chassis/body. A pleasant surprise tome, actually.

    - I replaced the stock tinted films, which Ifelt the heat rejectionperformancedid not meet my expectations.

-When paired with my Android phone, the head unit can read (read out in voice)my SMS and E-mails. The onlymissing 'nice to have' is the GPS.

    - The reverse camera is great, with 'green/yellow/red projection lines'.

-Overall and so far, a pleasant driving/owning experience.

Actually most colors are pretty ok. I would have taken flat white if there was such an option. Silver, blue, pearl white, black would be ok for me too. Wife likes the dark grey and I find it nice too. Happy wife, happy life..

Read somewhere that Glenn Tan is the voice of the Ah Beng in the advert and it was his idea. May have been interesting all those years ago circa 2005/2006 when the Ah Beng/Ah Seng advert was first used but they have milked it to death and its totally crass and low class.

I saw an advert on US TV recently, advertising Subaru cars and it played up the safety features of the Subaru car. So much classier than Glenn "Beng" Tan's idea of marketing Subaru cars.

But with the large number of Subaru cars on road now, he probably thinks his adverts did the trick .....

cos since Ah Seng never bring in EyeSight3 and it's related safety features, so cannot place ad for safety mah, else makes like Volvo and Mercedes will laugh until die...

Actually the Forester safety features compared to others japanese car are very high already.

Only left the eyesight and lane departure missing. Likely with these 2 items added, the OMV will cross over $20k, which will definitely affect the sale number.

Guys, any one have vibration or fluttering of lose item sound at the dash area when u drive at 90-100kmh

I can't isolate it as my wife do not drive and I have hard time driving and identifying the source of the sound. Driving me mad as it is consistent as long as speed is 95 and above. Confirmed not related to any loose items around glove box etc.

    Anyone with similar experience?

Hi, may i know what brand of film u using? How much?

I wentwith thetinted film known to my experience for more than 10 years. (and the cost is a tiny fraction of theCOE nowadays). But, please go with the one you already researched,or have prior good experience.

I believe the old Chinese wisdom/saying : 'one cent money, one % quality'.

The new 2016 Outback will get the Rear Vehicle Detection System (RVDS) thingy and likely the associated Rear Cross Traffic Alertand Blind Spot Detection features as its all relying on same equipment for RVDS. Initially I thought MI will increase the price but they held on to same price....

It's not a vibration/fluttering sound for me, but I have been hearing a rather soft intermittent clicking sound somewhere in between the front seats and the gearstick. This has happened after driving for >10 to 20 km.

Driving XT for 3 weeks with mileage 700km. Current average with 50/50 highway/urban is 10.2km/L. Still running in engine, so normal driving with no hard acceleration and highway speed kept to 90-100km/hr. Short burst to test overtaking occasionally.
Overall still quite satisfied with FC as compared to my Kia Sportage which average 9km/L. Hope to achieve even better FC after running in the XT.

If it is within a month of your test drive, the new SE will have to split the commission with the "test drive one". After one month, all reset. This is what i understand from a SE in MI. They have the info of your test drive date in their system.

Check your agreement. I recall seeing the T&C in the agreement. If I recall, it costs $1 (or 2) thousand to change the colour. my sale exec reminded me before I signed the agreement.

are you referring to window visors? any weblinks to show the pics? take note that windows visors may cause wind noise at high speed.

are you driving the pre-facelift or FL model? are you doing soundproofing for ICE or just to cut down general car noise? if it's for the latter, the FL model is supposed to come with better soundproofing like thicker window glass, better rubber seals, insulation materials, etc...

if it is purely stick on with adhesive type, may fly off at high speeds. OEM and better replicas usually come with clips as well to prevent that from happening.

The article said the recall will likely spread to US, Canada, Australia and European models. Wish Singapore not affected.

Is your car manufactured during that period? If not nothing to worry about. Even if it is, Subaru will just recall and it's seems a small problem which is easily rectified

if it is purely stick on with adhesive type, may fly off at high speeds. OEM and better replicas usually come with clips as well to prevent that from happening.

Agreed. Had those stuck on using only 3m doublesided tape. After a while, it just comes loose. Didn't want it to be road hazard so removed them all but left behind sticky tape marks which were hard to remove

My SE told me that the car will arrived S'pore end April but it need 2 wk for installation. May collect car at mid May.

After full payment, registered car and take 2 weeks to install? Or land and take 2 weeks to install then collect full payment? If its scenario 1, will they compensate u $600 for that 2 weeks depreciation?

Mine after settled payment.. 5 days install all the stuffs.. register on 30 sept and collect car on 1 oct..

my Msian kaki driving a 2015 wrx (motorimage unit) said he called Msia MI up andwas toldsaid their units are part of the recall batch (for inspection). Not necessarily the batch with the faulty part fm the supplier but will recall to check.
