Yah. That is what I believe.

For those who bought the car during CNY period when the selling price is base at $38k COE.

If they got their COE yesterday due to stock is here soon, ready tan tio...., the paper value will be much higher.

My white colour stock will only arrive end Mar / early April, that was what my SE told me when I book my car.

You are Right. cos if not.... by next bid...all will be bunched up and they also need to push out the cars from March Shipment.!

How to differentiate between FL and old?

the obvious ones are the front grille, head and tail lamps which are slightly different. of3 features, the feature which is easier to spot isthe new frontgrille has a blackhoneycomb-like pattern. if I recall, the wheels are different too.

Not sure for NA but for XT the rims are obvious different. Headlights has "eye balls" in them, tail lights has difference also.

Can pls advise the sound insulation for FXT? How is it compare to other SUV like CX5, Harrier, etc?

What u wish to know lol? For my case when I choose my car 1st thing is power, safety, price of the car, maintenance and lastly fuel consumption.. As mention earlier I was looking for crossover/SUV.. Vezel, qashqai and forester these 3 are inside my list but now I put forester as my best choice now after reading.. So far I think this is the only thread which I had been reading from page 1 lol..

For me now is just need to go down and test drive the FXT.. But currently price still on high side for me since my Accord CL7 ending in oct and I still have time to wait.. Hopefully car price will go down in these 3 to 4 months time..

    - you pay more for car

    - at scrap : get 50% of ARF

    CEV discount
    - Doubt AD may or may not pass the full discount to you.

Finally took the plunge and ordered a 2.0 NA Dark Grey.

Consideration was my wife would be driving the car most of the time and her right leg has no control and my NCB was at risk.

Also our knees are giving way so we need a higher sitting car but most important of all is that I think my dogs would love the car.

Got my COE this round for NA. Booked after CNY during 38K.

You will only get back PARF rebate for car within 10 years old at the time of de-registration. In other word, car scrap after 10 years old get zero PARF rebate. One motoring or LTA website provide very detailed calculation of PARF rebate & COE rebate if you would scrap your car

GAHMEN already did. You can bid your own COE. You can pay the ARF. You can get discount. But problem is AD sell as a package. So boh pian.

But what I do not agree with GAHMEN is surcharge gahmen don't give 50% back at scrap. But discount GAHMEN deduct from scrap. Nonsense and borders on profiteering.sorry LTA.. I call a spade a spade. I repeat. That's smells of profiteering.

    No alternative to government.

    No alternative to AD.

No need to question. Just accept or get out.

Government can say a lot of grand things like economy, population, etc etc.

AD and in this instance MI is just pure blood suckers. Their objective is to get as much as they can without you switching to another brand.

I did check the PI version of XT. It's 280 Bhp but the price is much higher (around 15k more).

15k for 40bhp. Personally I don't think it make sense so I didn't take it.

Is that the Forester TS version from PI? The PI is garage R?

    Think it's kanna 15-20k Cevs penalty that's why it's 15k more..

Anyway just need to pay less than 4k to get entirely aftermarket exhaust system + tuning to get 280bhp on the AD forester XT.. so definitely not worth it to get from PI

Any PI selling the NA ?

Read about 80-90% American where this car is so popular gets the NA.

Why do we need 240 HP on Singapore road.
Because we have higher speed expressways. Our petrol cost is lower...or our traffic Police or rules are not strict...

Or is this an ego face value thingy ? Is Singapore road a race track ? You will probably have average speed of 40km/hr...

Sone cars have turbo for fuel efficiency and to meet strict emission standards. This one we are taxed for higher emission.

Where is the sense of this ?

The discussion on why pp get powerful versions of the same car will never end. It's boils down to different strokes for different folks. Forester is just one of many other car models with different power/engine setups. Like A4 vs S4 vs RS 4. C180 vs C200 vs C63AMG

Agreed. Not forgetting the 5yr warranty by motor image. If PI closes shop, no more warranty...

SE told me this weekend is having $3k discount promo with guarantee COE (forget its 4 or 6 bids), additional of $1k and $2k for non guarantee COE for 6 and 8 bids respectively.

I did not ask for freebies as was not ready to sign the pepper yet.

My experience with MI on their special addition add ons, don't go for it it is to be fitted on a new launch FL.

I had an experience with MI years ago when I bought my BL9 legacy GT for their "tuned by STI" add on package with bodykit suspension and engine tune.

Because mine was a new FL batch that needed homologation, end up they say the new FL cannot have the engine tune due to different ECU or something. End up had to bag table, they just FOC STI lip spoiler for me and refunded me the full top up sum.

That experience taught me that MI know nuts about the cars they are bringing in until the car actually reach the showroom.
