All I know is that this basic SMS service has been there for at least 5 years or so that I agak agak remember;

At least now its alot better than in the past. Last time, we still had to go during the library operating hours to return books. Now can return anytime.

Three cars were damaged by a falling tree on Sime Road following heavy rain yesterday morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident near the Singapore Island Country Club around 10.55am and dispatched a fire engine, a Red Rhino, an ambulance and a support vehicle.

No one was trapped in the vehicles and no injuries were reported, a spokesman said. SCDF personnel remained at the scene to assist with clearing the debris.

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, who was held up at the site, posted pictures on Facebook. He said it was lucky no one was seriously injured, though the driver of an Uber car suffered slight cuts from broken glass. Mr Goh wrote: "I had to walk around the fallen tree to go home in another car waiting on the other side of the tree."

Fines a reminder to return books on time
I am a frequent user of the library and have found many interesting and educational books there ("Library fines cost more than book" by Mrs Sheeba John; Forum Online, last Saturday).

Borrowing books saves money, space and, most importantly, the environment. It is amazing to think that instead of 10 people buying and storing books in their homes, they can share one book.
The library hands out fines to encourage borrowers to return books on time.
We should be responsible borrowers. If we want to avoid fines, we should remember to return the books on time.
If I were fined for forgetting to return library books I have borrowed, I would pay it in full. It would serve as a lesson to me to return my books on time in future.
