Perhaps in both cases, the respecive chicken were caught 'red-handed' with their timsum (coacroah/centipede), and sentenced to death together with their last meal not consumed.

I believe this is one ulgy business practice we encounter once in a while. Giants use to have such practice occassionally. The displayed prices of the goods and the casher's prices are different.

But i thought under normal circumstances, the supermarket is suppose to honour the price tag that is displayed?

I kena before at NTUC and they say its their mistake for reflecting the wrong price and honour the lower price even though the offer is over.

nope. Displayed price is for info purpose and they need not honour it. They can chose not to sell at that price and buyer can also choose not to buy at a higher price.

it is through good will that ntuc chose to sell it.

say in a scenario, a brand new car is listed as 20k instead of 200k as a result of typo, can we insist that the car dealer honour its advertised price? No, of course,

On three separate occassions, each man walked into me and bounced off with the impact. They were each engrossed with doing handphone walking. So if I were a porcupine, they could had killed themselves. More people these days are diligent enough to look after themselves, and/or their properties.

That's quite a different scenario to retail / supermarket mis-pricing. However customers rarely complain if the price is less at the till than listed in the aisle, so careful what you wish for I suppose...

this i agree...the pesdestrian was clearly ranting on like a mad person even after she apologised

    I agree.......

put yourself in the same scenario as the driver . . . .

    - you were looking for a parking lot in a carpark; its the last thing you'd expect to hit on somebody

    - ops, the next thingsomeone was knockingon your car rear boot

    - you stopped to clarify; then a 'thug-like' fellow reasoning with you on his own manner . . .

perhaps, the woman driver could have toned down to listen and apologise instantly instead of defending herself straightaway

put yourself in the same scenario as thepedestrian . . .

    - you were walking at the carpark looking for your car (I'm sure you were not stupid enuff to walk on dangerous ground)

    - then some car bang onto your arm with its side mirror

    - you know it was no point shouting, thus you immediately knocked on the car hoping to stop it

    - the next thing you heard from the driver after you told the driver off was 'you also bend on my side mirror & never fold back!'

    well . . . are you heated up ???

I can only said that James Pang (the Stormer) could have also reasoned with her but I guessed he was way above his angrily.....

to be honest, its definitely the driver's fault.....but thank God thatno further 'entanglement' contiued as the woman driver drove off!

if you were the driver . . . imagine if you were to comedown to check the car, this could have been even much urglier, right?

    phew!

we onlookers should NOT jump into conclusion as whose right or wrong!

imagine if you are anyone of them, and its only you know yourself . . . will the situationbe worsened if you are the pedestrian/driver . . .

as the pedestrain, you are demanding a submissive apologetic behavior; else what?

as the driver, you might wanna defend upfront against an aggravator, or 'heart pain' on the banging of your car

this definitelyblinded your consiousness on checking if its your fault

here, the driver did the right thing & moved off (obviously there was no remorse since the pedestrian can stillflipped his phone camera)

Invitation to Treat - that's very interesting, thanks for the link. No shop is obliged to sell at the listed price and can decide not to sell to any individual, there is no contract at that point [the customer expressing his interest to buy].

However, in the UK at least, it is a criminal offence for shops to deliberately mislead on their price labels and they have to show it was a genuine error AND that they have systems in place to prevent such errors occurring [laugh]. Does Singapore have a Consumer Protection Act or equivalent?

In this sense... bridging a close relationship with your kids may lessen the probability of such incident from happening.

The crux of the problem IMO isnt the uniform. Rather, its the mindset of those who's involved in these hanky panky waaaaaayyyyy before they fully grapse the responsibility that comes with it.

How will the shop owner be able to even replace such an antique watch which is 60 years old?? Its not like one of your typical rolexes which don't change shape/ models much for donkey years... but the sentimental value... as in like family heirloom, even if its all scratched up and tarnished.

I see nothing wrong with public-spiritedness, protecting a 10-year old kid who was being attacked/bullied.

On the other hand, those who were just watching the 10-year old kid being attacked/bullied, may have some mental maturity problem (the kid could be your niece/nephew). Some other countries having such culture.

Stomper K was left hungry and disgusted after finding a name tag in the box of salad she had been eating halfway.

According to her, she bought the salad from Cold Storage at VivoVity and has informed them of the incident.

K said in a phone interview:

"I was enjoying my salad from Cold Storage with my own added toppings of smoked salmon, fresh white button mushrooms, olives, and organic tomatoes when I poked into something hard.

"It turned out to be a staff's name tag with an open, bent and rusty pin!!!!

"I am now hungry and disgusted. What if I had served or shared my tossed salad with younger/older family members?

"I called Cold Storage last night and they offered me a refund, but I am more concerned about the issue of hygiene.

"When I did not get a response this morning, I called Customer Service and they said they will check with the store."

K said she still has yet to receive a reply.
