I'm getting a bit sick of mine. Nothing fancy, rare cam powered by the batt.
But you know hor, mine convertible.

Anyone considered using those portable car jump start kit as a power source to continuously supply power to the car accessory such as DVR? Some of them has a rating of 20 AH .

They are quite bulky to carry (4~6 kgs) in the boot but it will be sitting there idle in your boot anyway if intend to carry it as an emergency jump kit/air compressor.

Many models (even the cheap ones) has dedicated 12V cig socket to power other car accessory. The battery in this jump kit can also be charged continuously when car is moving but probably will still need to occassionally charged it to full from the wall socket at home.

I understand most of them can be had for less than S$100, even cheaper if buy from the Internet.

    Here are some examples:

I don't know, have not gone around to check but someone in another thread mentioned that Carrefour sells some other brand for less than $50.

Such a incredible variety of models available on the Internet. I suppose portable jump start kits will be more popular in countries with many long roads, less applicable in Singapore when AAS is just a call away.

These are great but shipping them in from overseas will cost a lot due to the SLA battery they are using.

To all ITB100HD users, does it record all the time during parking mode? This because my external battery can only last me 2-3 days, my setting is shock = normal and motion = insensitive. I checked the files under parking mode, it seem to record every min. How do set the parking mode only to record when there is shock?

Hi bro, dont think u purchased your item from us, but i will still advise u accordingly.
Go to parking mode, set sensitivity of the motion detector to insensitive.
If you wish to record only when there is shock, select 'shock sensing' in parking mode.

By any chance can we do a resell of our old car cams in this thread or do we have to sell in the Classified section? I mean like personal one to one exchange or sell to other users..

    Hi Bro,

There is a readily made connector converter to convert 3.5mm socket to normal RCA female socket.
I got it from Sim Lim Square level 2. There is a shop selling CCTV and electronics (not those specialised shops but more like those electronics shop).
It just cost me like $1.10 IIRC.

On Saturday, I found my OPC had a flat battery. Jump started the car and everything was fine. Am monitoring what caused it to flat. So far the only thing that is draining the batt is the ITB which is set to cut off in 3 days or 11.8V after engine cutoff. Unless the alarm sounded during the week and I did not notice it.

Hope it's just a weak battery. Am continuing the monitoring.

Hmm...funny you mention that, I ran flat today as well, changed a new batt. using ITB as well.

Yo bro, advisable to unplug the power connector if u are not driving for more than 3 days & if your battery is near to 1 year old. Although the power saver cut the power, your alarm will still be draining the battery wink.gif

If I am not wrong, alarm is always 'live'. So when you press the unlock key on your remote, it will unlock your car.

Male boss is a honkie n centre of head is bald. Speaks mandarin with very strong HK accent. He does the labour.

Lady boss is long hair n I think is malaysian or prc. They are both partners for the shop but not in a relationship. She is married to another guy who repairs aircon but once in a while drop by the shop to help. She gives better price than the male boss.
