Not sure. For me I don't mind paying the GST but usually the shops just do it even when you never ask. The last round I ordered around 20kg worth of items but price not stated and the customs also never check and I did not have to pay for the GST.

They are different. The first one is a cheap version of the one in dealextreme. It doesn't come with H.264 video compression and the 720p is likely interpolated. You might want to confirm this with the seller. Dealextreme is also selling the cheap version shown in the below link. Read the comments there.

Though i only sell DOD GSE580, It will be best to prove how good the product is by testing it locally.
For my case, i am testing it out in Singapore roads, under different weather,timing & locations.
For now all my GSE580 test using the following settings:
EV= -1
White Balance = Auto
Contrast = Hard
Sharpness = Hard
Effect = Vivid
Quality = Good
Infrared = OFF
In the future, i will try to use different settings to test out.

Having used the blackview car camera for the last three days, here is my review.
It is basically a slimmer version of the milo can size car camera with lots of other functions which were lacking. You can adjust the recording time, 1min(default), 3min, 5min or 15mins. Can adjust EV, white balance and light frequancy. My unit came with simplified chinese langauge menu, I had to set it to english from the menu. When it start up, a lady speaking in russian greets u. When it shuts down, the lady says goodbye to u in russian too. The captured video format was the same as the milocan size camera but nite video is slightly better. My sandisk 8GB class4 microSD produces jerky video, however my sandisk 4GB class4 microSD works great. Do u guys need a sample video???
If u are thinking of getting the milo can size car cam, forget it. Get this new Blackview car camera. It is also still pretty much a plug n play car camera with better adjustable functions. Video quality is the same but nite video is slightly better. Still can make out license plate from one car length away in the night.

Micro SD Class 10 is pretty rare locally. I managed to get it from SL SQ but its from Silicon Power.

Because based on the GSE580 DOD manual, it does mention that minimum requirement is Class 6 & DOD advised do not use Micro SD with external SD converter.

I believe the adapter will affect the transfer speed of the card. You increase the lag with the additional contacts.

I think that local distributor WowGadgets maybe in for a lawsuit claiming Blackview is an imitation of BlackVue if mfgr for Blackview were to take up a case against them.

Some does, but note that the captured video resolution n frame rate will be lower than the main camera. Best is independent front and rear recorder.

Check out the DOD-tec GSE580. It has direct 12-24V in or the usual usb in. Loving the GSE 580 everytime I flip thru the manual.

JUST wanna highlight how a HD camera is useful....
I just become a victim of a hit and run accident in a yellow box just after a U turn just a few hours ago.
The left land was jammed with vehicles, there are some gap in the right lane. My ride was totally in the yellow box right after the turn.
I tried to move to the very front so my car was in a ''slant position''. The gap behind my car boot does allow some vehicles to pass through...
A few seconds later, i felt my whole car shake abit....another car have brushed against my rear right boot. Its a sports car (i dont want to say the model now), but it just move on 30 meters without stopping and made a U turn. and left turn into a private residential area. I tried to catch up with it but my lane is blocked. I only managed to get hold of that joker 1 min later, RIGHT at his door step.
I was quite furious when I stopped outside his ride. He just walked out as if nothing have happened.
I asked him how come he side swide my rear right hand side of the boot and just proceed to drive on without stopping. How come he does a hit and run?
He says he never touched my ride. he says he never felt it. Then he walked over to my ride, and says my car is ok..nothing is wrong. No evidence.
The area is quite dark. I took out my torch light and shone at the right rear side. It shows paint marks being dragged off, the black colur base is seen, there are no dents though. This definately warrants a full respray of the bumper

IF he still dont give me his licence, I will call the police now, and tell them of his hit and run ethics and also, he is drunk driving.
Only then he willingly give me a boat licence that have his NRIC number, and name. He also gave me his name card, he says, settle calmly...wanna be frens...
His attitude changed for the better when he realised that I suspected him of drunk driving and also of the exisiting video cam recording that i have and will call the police if he dont cooperate
He asked me to look carefully at his name card and there he is, a director of a PI car company. I cannot care less who is he. I told him, dont give me the crap. How u wanna settle. He offered to settle for me, with his sources. I rejected
I told him, I prefer my workshop and ask for slightly less than 300$ (this is after I have checked with my mechanic as I kissed a latio 1 month ago, the damages was slightly less than 300$ with full knocking back of bumper and full respray of bumper). He laughed at me and says, this kind of damage is NOT worth 300$. I told him, now i got the right to go to my own workshop.
I dont feel confident in his workshop and source. How can I trust this joker who dont even bother to stop after hit and tried to run away. Afterwhich, when I confront him, he even says no evidence.
I told him straight...i never go back to KM for repairs (mine is a civic), is already too good to you. I never even asked for rental cars, i just wanna repair my bumper and move on. He says okie...but still tries to be funny that its a small matter

Then I wrote two pcs of statement, got both parties to sign and also keep. I gave him back his change.
At the end of this, he even says, look at his car, no problem no scratches. I told him off, i said, dont think just because you are rich to afford a sports car, and live in private bungalow, u can just hit and run. ur European made ride is so heavy and tough that when side swipe against me, of cos i am at the losing end. Moreover, I am inside yellow box, you are moving vehicle. u hit me at the rear some more.
Last statement from him, lets be friends..... I told him...u dont even stop after hit and right. No integrity at all, Thanks but no thanks. Its just my luck to have met you.....consider today my unlucky day...

JUST wanna highlight how a HD camera is useful....
I just become a victim of a hit and run accident in a yellow box just after a U turn just a few hours ago.
The left land was jammed with vehicles, there are some gap in the right lane. My ride was totally in the yellow box right after the turn.
I tried to move to the very front so my car was in a ''slant position''. The gap behind my car boot does allow some vehicles to pass through...
A few seconds later, i felt my whole car shake abit....another car have brushed against my rear right boot. Its a sports car (i dont want to say the model now), but it just move on 30 meters without stopping and made a U turn. and left turn into a private residential area. I tried to catch up with it but my lane is blocked. I only managed to get hold of that joker 1 min later, RIGHT at his door step.
I was quite furious when I stopped outside his ride. He just walked out as if nothing have happened.
I asked him how come he side swide my rear right hand side of the boot and just proceed to drive on without stopping. How come he does a hit and run?
He says he never touched my ride. he says he never felt it. Then he walked over to my ride, and says my car is ok..nothing is wrong. No evidence.
The area is quite dark. I took out my torch light and shone at the right rear side. It shows paint marks being dragged off, the black colur base is seen, there are no dents though. This definately warrants a full respray of the bumper

as my car is slanted, from the 120 DEg angle of the camera, the posh just travelled slowly on my right. Could not make out the number or even the model...just a faded figure....

Sorry to hear about your mishap. IMO, you should not let him go so easily. Drink driving is a serious offend here, letting him off the hook so easily is just dangerous.
It is not about the claim for repair but doing justice for the public. Especially from your description, he's like not a bit repentful yet arrogant after the incident???

In HD, the front car license plate is visible from two to three car lengths during the day. Every features will also be captured very clearly.
W/o HD, only when the car infront is one or less than one car length then the license plate is visible. Try looking at those previous non-HD cameras captured in 320x240 or 640x480 resolution.
Watch football or F1 in normal channel n HD channel, u will see the difference.
But dont expect the HD car camera to have the same quality as those in the HD channel lah. Different grade of camera liao. See lah, now deal extreme kena censored.
