Hi BreezyWind,
1 year + issue due to local fitting/wiring but also a bit on the design of the glove compartment.
Surprised TC did not get it fixed as standard SOP and keep irritating new owners :( Guess management is not aware else the Service team will get into hot soup ....
Cheers,
Richard
I notice there is some free play on the hinge of the glove box. Going to take a look later to see what I can do to stop the rattling sound.
i had mine rectified yesterday, notice the noise only after i sent in for 1000k servicing last week, went back again yesterday. beside rattling noise, got problem with solar film as wellI just collected and drove my pearlie white 1.2 Qashqai for 3 weeks, and I can't stand the rattling on the left of dashboard and knocking sound.
Less than 1000KM, and I sent it in today at Tan Chong Toa Payoh workshop for troubleshooting. Sianz
SE verified the rattling due to loose wiring at dashboard and knocking due to mounting issue.
Hopefully Tan Chong can resolve my problems. Irritating to drive with the noises!
Rattling noise - rectified by fixing the glove box compartment
Knocking noise - rectified by greasing the mounting
Both noises are on the left side.
Keeping my fingers cross. Hopefully they are fixed indefinitely.
Cannot figure out if it is from the tyre or wind. More like wind noise to me and l tried to fold both the side mirrors, is not from there.
Please share with me if you have this noise too.
Cheers all, will be getting my QQ 2L soon, can I join the whatsapp group in advance?

Hi guys, I just bought an OBD2 splitter Y cable from ebay and now I can use for both my door auto lock and ultra gauge. The price is roughly $8.50 for the cable. Anyway, I was quoted $60 dollars for the splitter cable from one shop and I decided to source it myself. The delivery took anout 2 weeks and it comes with a tracking number.

Good move !

I was charged SGD60 for the same damn 1 to 2 extension cord but helped 40+ bros on good quality 1 to 3 extension cord for SGD10 who also installed the auto central lock obd module with various ethrottles, BT OBD dongle, etc.

Hope shops will not longer have the chance to make 5 times the cost which is a bit too much.

On the advise of one of the bros here, i went down early, ard 945. Already got one car there. From my experience, the place is always full.
Hi guys,

Can share what you all got from your agents?
How to disable the auto start stop permanently? I think our battery will spoiled very easily in Singapore road condition.Hi Kstoh,
Nice summary !! Believe most of not all bros feels the same and probably some more to add e.g. default external circulation for hot, dusty city Singapore etc. but yes, most still enjoy the qashqai car for many other reasons.
My 2 cents worth on the issues discussed and hope no offence taken for if there are different opinions.
Cheers.
Richard
1. Horn - Not only is the sound embarrassingly weak, it is difficult to press the horn. Only the 6 o' clock location works. The other locations are hard to press. I am more used to pressing either the 3 or 9 o' clock locations, which is common for other cars since your hands are likely around there. The horn sound can be changed and I will be doing it soon but unfortunately not the locations, I think.
Richard: Yes,many bros changed the horns that is not only embarrassingly weak but a SAFETY concern. One bro had taxi reversed into him with substantial damage and I had 2 close shaves with lorry and NTUC 30 footer truck reversing into me at stationary despite using the guniang horn with all my might ... fortunately no car behind in both instances and I was quick to reverse back quickly to avoid sure accident .... no brainer modification needed here. No clue/comment on the position of honk since not usually used and ok position imho to push hard when needed.
2. Auto Start/Stop - This must be one of the most irritating functions. I actually do not mind the feature. It helps the environment and it saves petrol. But the frequency is ridiculous. I stop at the traffic lights, the engine auto-stops but barely 3 seconds later, it starts again. And then before I can finish counting to 20, it stops, and then starts again. I do not mind being unable to turn it off (permanently) but is there a way to extend the interval before start/stop?
Richard: Just my opinion of course but this is bureaucratic taxation BS to me and not about environment or saving petrol at the expensive of expected premature wearing off the starter, battery, engine mounting etc. which are all known to fail even in standard car. Why no startstop for the 2.0L version without stopstart ... and why ? because they pays higher price and more road taxes ?? Fortunately, 50 of us have disable stopstart module from Qashqai owner/designer which is similar to commercially available ones for Audi/VW on internet for Euro85 ....
3. Speedometer Display - I am a little annoyed that the primary scale on the analogue speedometer is in mph. You may accidentally think that you are going at 60 kph when in fact you are doing 60 mph which is more like 100 kph. No doubt we all use the digital reading but this renders the analogue meter redundant. I wonder if we can simply change the dial plate. It should not be too difficult since I believe the 2.0 QQ has it in kph. When this displays kph, we can then use the digital display for something else.
Richard: European version has it in km/hr and since TC just bring in UK version, miles it is and as mentioned, there is digital display. Not a concern to most like myself I believe. XTrail is not from UK and hence signalling/lights and wiper controls are also typical Japanese which our qashqai differs.
4. Power - All of us have experienced that moment at the traffic lights when we stepped on the gas and nothing happens for a second or two. Since I have no wish to fit e-trottle or something like that, I just remind myself this is a 1.2L car.
Richard: At traffic lights is fine and the most is if some car hit you lightly on the behind but this can become a SAFETY issue if judgement was made to make the U turn and to find having insufficient power to get ahead on oncoming traffic but sure, one can drive slowly and wait till all clear but dun think too fun to drive or stressfree then. Estimate 50% of 180+ whatsapp group bros had fitted various brand of ethrottle and I move my 8.5 yr pivot from previous sunny to the qashqai ... worthwhile investment imho with hopefully another 8.5 yrs or 5 yrs of its service. No brainer mod for me especially no warranty issue with TC.
5. Rear Aircon - Sometimes, my back passengers complain the cold air is not reaching them. I just aim the centre vents towards them.
Richard: Indeed not complete for our Qashqai without one ... even same Korean graded cars have them and hence ordered the Russian rear aircon assembly for their Qashqai with such rear aricon vents. Unfortunately, they dun fit without more work and still WIPs. Idea is to use the foot aircon outlets to be diverted to the rear air con vents which also then allows the control since ours are without and any mod to control panel will be major if not impossible at least to me.
6. Radio - Everybody seems to be complaining about the reception. I really do not know what is the problem with the radio. When my car is near my house (Upper East Coast), BBC 88.9 can hardly hear, a lot of interference. But 98.0 seems ok. So, I conclude that it is not totally due to the HU. Maybe my place is not good for some signals, especially BBC? By the way, my SE also changed my antennae to the sharkfin type. I wonder if reception will be better if I change back to stock antennae.
Richard: Not perfect but had worse FM reception from other HUs and strange still that owners changed to sharkfin type which is cannot be better if they are bothered with FM reception. Of course nothing to do with Nissan and it is a tiong HU source by TC with locked up functionalities of standard SZztech ZT-N8032 available also from Aliexpress. BBS alway suck even in with an expensive home FM tuner which I can read the signal strength and please note the it is not operated by mediacorp but BBC World Service which means there may be variation in their transmission quality agreement. Best FM receiption will be via DAB which mediacorp unfortunately closed down 4-5 years ago and I am now on dual Wince/Android headunit for almost perfect internet FM radio within the bitrates of mediacorp internet site.
http://broom03.revol...item_type=topic
7. GPS - The 8" display for the GPS is great but I find the Galactio routing not very good. Wish I can change it to Google Maps or Garmin.
Richard: Use many GPS on mobile phones for years with favorite being Sygic for accurate audio warning and nice graphics and do thought the Galactio is fine with their UI, postal code search etc. It has nice feature to mix/fade gps audio level with playing audio source which my changed dual Wince/Android OS headunit cannot do and hence missed even if I now have googlemap, waze and igo primo 9 (wince) . On the other hand, the 8" display with 800X480 pales compared to my 1024X600 resolution screen and its resistive touch cannot be compared to my capacitance enable display.
8. Sound - I have this rattling sound from the glove compartment / dashboard. Hope to resolve it at next servicing.
Richard: Think most if not all affected and this is primarily the design and also local fitting of accessories. Quite easily solved via diy or accessory shops albeit often not by TC.
9. Grilles - The radiator grilles are exposed. Have not decided whether to put mesh. Catch stones or leaves?
Richard: Indeed strange especially with worse country side driving in europe, uk etc. and they does look exposed and not nice. Perhaps for max cooling for the 1.2L turbo intercooler but when then about the the 2.0 L ?? Many bros done up mesh by local accessories shop or also diy from TaoBao purchases .... many choices.
10. Front Seat - The lumbar support lever keeps dropping off. Anyone face the same problem?
Richard: Had not hear of lever dropping off but almost 100% complaint on how the leather gets creased and this is also the case for factory fitted leather of the 2.0L. Guess their proclaim air seats or something else they call it dictates type of leather which is weaker and weaken by designed specification. Quite expensive to change and current solution for some bros who cannot accept it is to get it replaced by TC contractor but so called improved version creased again after some months ... did not bother me too much since not seen too much.
Apart from the above, the car is fantastic. Lots of features and good to drive. I do not regret buying it.

Which engine is our Qashqai 1.2T using and what is the recommended petrol? I never realised until yesterday that our petrol tank cover says "Unleaded Premium 95 Octane". Does that mean should not use 92 or 98 Octane?

I know the difference between leaded and unleaded, 92, 95, 98 etc. But what is the difference between regular and premium? I usually pump SPC 95. I hope that is "premium"?

I made many mistakes when ordering from Taobao. Look carefully at the fog lights at the bottom of the car. Ours is round, theirs is more angular.

Things that are safe to buy:
Door handle trim
Rear fog light trim
Rear tail light trim
The little triangle under the spoiler lip
Front headlight trim
Side mirror trim
Door trims (like adventure series)
Rectangular piece for the interior vent (not sure what that vent is lol)
Boot mat
Seat covers designed for Qashqai 2016
Side trims for the door (to cover the black parts, but my SE installed the window visors, so if you want to install that, you have to take that into consideration)

Things that cannot fit:
Interior dash for left hand drive
Anything to do with the fog lights at the front and the front bottom section
Center armrest console seems to be different also, so not all armrest covers will fit

Things that may or may not exactly fit:
metal plate for rear boot (inner step) - fits kinda, but after that closing and opening the boot is not as smooth
metal plate for rear boot (outer step) - doesn't fit, system will say that door is not closed ... maybe I installed it wrong
Adventure series front and rear scuff plates - should fit but requires some installation so I didn't try

Things not tried:
decorative roof rail (looks a bit complicated to install)

Currently only 2000+km run. averaging 590km when the fuel warning comes on. Usually pump full tank is 55l, arriving at 10.7km/l so far.

my traveling pattern is mostly ECP and cbd area to and fro daily. prob 70 HW: 30 city. morning consumption is thirstier at around high 9+km/l (based on screen) due to start/stop traffic on expressway. Night ride better as i drive home after 7ish. maybe 11+km/l.

Short city or neighbourhood drives ~8km/l
Long expressway drives - highest was 15.2km/l that is once in a blue moon.

I think averaging 11km/l will be achievable in the longer run. Diff petrol brands and grades work differently for your car. need to experiment. Well, that was at least my experience in my old car. Efficiency went up by 1km/l when i switched from Shell 95 to Esso 95 because I wanted the credit card promotion.

DIY :)Is it worth adding the clear film for the headlights? The workshop said it'll prevent the plastic discoloration and provides some protection against stones. Quoted 120 to do that.
1) Papago does not auto start when I start the engine on several occasion. I have to hold the on button for it to start.
2) What do I need to observe for the engine oil? I heard some encountered issue of overfilled or under filled.
3) At the map light, there is a button which looks like wifi. Anyone know what is that?
Tks
Thought discolouration is due to headlight material. Skeptical about film can help much against stones. Just my humble opinions. Is it worth adding the clear film for the headlights? Have it rectified at TC at your next servicing. I had intermittent recording issues with Papago as well. Got it rectified last week at TC.

Changed to sharkfin after 1 day. Bought from ax cheap cheap.
Reception is quite poor. Fuzzles about 20% of the time.
And since I take the same road to work Everyday, someday on same certain stretch of road its poor, somedays okay, sometimes at the exact same spot I stop my vehicle (red light) reception becomes poor but once I put my foot on the pedal immediately the reception improves. Not sure if it's a power current issue or something
Intend to change back stock antenna sua. Any Bros with feedback on stock antenna? Better or still poor?
Mine has also been changed to sharkfin type. In my opinion, sharkfin antenna can only be worse not better.

The stock antenna is there to improve signal reception. Normally, the longer the antenna, the better the reception. To install the sharkfin type, you need to remove that stock antenna and cover it with a plastic sharkfin. The pastic cover is cosmetic. I don't think there is any embedded antenna in it. (If there is, then I may be wrong).

Will the grilles give rise to future problems, like rusting of the grilles? If so, I will just stick to the naked original look.

Based on what I see, the horns are normally installed not hidden behind the bumper. They are somewhat visible from the front. The workshop told me they can spray the red horns to black.

Hi Kstoh,

Affirmative ..... I am with your that sharkfin can never be better than stock but the usual issue is not only the antenna but the headunit electronics.

The sharkfin antenna I had since from taobao uses flat copper film and there are better quality ones and worse quality ones.

Hi YSLY,

Auto fold mirror is useful functionality to automatically folds up the side mirrors when you locked your car .... it minimises damage especially when parked in narrow lane.

It is also an indication that the doors are indeed locked with just a glance from afar in case you wonder if indeed locked.

Note however that at least most if not all the cases, the auto fold module from TC is simplex version but guess depends also on the subcon that they may change at that time. While it closes when locked, it only opens when you start your engine and not when doors are unlocked ... which mean there may be cases that you open the door but did not start engine and walking away with door unlocked but side mirror folded. I paid SGD85 before car collection but swap it out at accessory shop with duplex version for SGD60 which simply closes when locked and opens when unlocked .... no more doubt.

TPMS arrived. Thanks to the bros who shared the lobang when it was on sale.
Photos of the grille, horn and TPMS.
Side note: weird placement of the horns. Hidden behind the bumper. Could muffle the sound somewhat. Will see how it performs on the road.
I got almost the same situation as you.

I got one horn install at the original horn position, which is good.

The other horn installed behind the bumper, not good.

The workshop said no other space. But if they can make a bracket, both horn should be able to install at the original horn position.

Anyone done Ceramic coating for their new QQ?

I've never done this before and not sure if its worth it or not. Worked out the sums and its like about $300 per year. $900 for the entire car and last 3 years.

Got a few questions, hope you guys can help me out!

- Will waxing or polishing it destroy the ceramic coating?
- Worth doing it for interior and headlamps?
- If got knocks/dents at the door, will the color change or be affected more obviously due to the coat?

Waxing or polishing will remove it.
I did at opti-shine and they will coat all exterior surfaces including headlamps, windows, thr black plastic trims and rims. Interior is the door sills part which I requested and they did it as well.
For knocks and dents, it's the same as having a newly polished car vs a dirty car, which is more obvious?

The front windscreen wipers are auto rain sensors. What about the back windscreen? Have to on-off manually?
Hi MadDog,
There is hi end SUV, mid-tier SUV and low priced SUV.
Our qashqai is clearly low prices SUV but fights well in its class and beyond in terms of comfort and ride as well as arguably good looks ... Vezel looks odd especially from rear on its sad clown-like rear lighting though the vezel hybrid is much better with BMW's lookalike led strips albeit a bit unclear and fuzzy.
No regret and rather have the $ to mod and enjoy the process while enjoying the ride and comfort.
Cheers,
Haha ...looks like some Vezel fan boys are lurking around here and displeased with my comment on odd looking rear lights that remind me of a sad clown which I stand by.

Here is Opti Coat Pro

Opti-Coat Pro is a hard wearing, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching (9H) and protection from chemical etching due to environmental impacts.
The Opti-Coat Pro pre-polymer cross links, and forms a continuous protective film on the painted surface it is applied to, similar to a single componentisocyanatethat forms a clear coat finish.
Opti-Coat Pro has better chemical resistance, scratch & mar resistance, and release properties than any automotive paint coating in use. It provides permanent protection for all modern factory paints and can also be used to protect metal and hard plastic surfaces.

OPTI-COAT PRO MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
WASHING
- For best results wash with Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine, No Rinse Wash & Wax, or Car Wash on a bi-weekly basis to avoid excessive contamination build up.
- Avoid washing in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting.
- Wash from the top down leaving the dirtiest sections for last to avoid cross contamination.
- Use separate soap and sponge/mitt for wheels.
DRYING
- Always dry completely and never leave to air dry. Tap water contains minerals that may leave deposits creating water spots.
- Use quality microfiber towels for best results and avoid aggressive wiping, allowing the material to absorb the water.
SPOT REMOVAL
- Never use aggressive products to polish the coating or remove surface contamination.
- Never use excessive force to remove spots.
- Bird droppings, tar, sap, etc. should be removed as soon as possible to avoid temporary staining or hardening on the coating. Any staining left behind from the bird droppings will break down over a few days without affecting the coating.

Here's sharing what I encountered for my PPS and I am super damned pissed for spending the money on it. Not sure whether I was cheated as I did not stay to see the application. So I would recommend that you stay the process and get them to show you what they are applying. Else go to reputable ones,

1. It did not protect mine from water marks. scratches and it even chipped out the paint at the slightest hit on the door(as there was no dent but a chip off). Even though it advertised that it is able to protect againist. so... misleading advert?

2. Complained to Vendor and they offered to redo with minimal charge..... after much haggling then FOC. But I am still unsure whether I want to waste my time going back.......

3. Said I never wipe off the rain water after the rain..... ya like I very free, monitor the weather to see when the rain stops and run out to dry the car.

4. Say no PPS in the market is able to protect against, water marks, scratches and dents. While I agree that hard knocks will definitely leave a dent, it should be able to prevent small dents.

5. My previous rides, even without PPS, I can clear off the scratch using the scratch remover waxes. but after the PPS done by this Vendor on QQ, it totally did not respond. And this is a very light scratch whereas the one I removed on previous ride was a deeper one.

6. Asked him, why pay to do PPS when it doesn't protect? Cannot answer me.....I am really baffled.

Not sure what other Bros' opinions on their PPS. But I am pretty sure the PPS I done on my previous ride was way better than the PPS done by this Co. PM me on the one I had my PPS done so that you can avoid this Company or stay on throughout the whole process if you finally selected this Co to do your PPS.

Somehow missed this .....

Are you fully appreciative of the difference between the 1.2L and 2.0L ??

Not sure the $ difference now and you may wish to read pass msgs for a good understanding.

Sorry to raise this top now but need informed decision imho and just hope this is the case.

Frankly, I was not aware of all the differences that I do know now and unsure if I would have still stay with 1.2L or proceeded with 2.0L.
Cheers,

Richard

Thanks for your advice, Richard!

Any one knows where to get a replacement for a QQ 2.0 19" tyre?
looked around and it seems to be a "rare" size.
Cheers on your COE and new ride coming soon!

Thanks Pocy!

Can't wait too. Need more advice from you guys when the ride is here.
Dear All,

I'm looking to swap rims with any Qashqai 2.0 owners intending to upgrade from their stock 19" rims to 20" size.

My wife and mum drives the car most of the time these days, therefore no need for 20" rims, although I still find them really beautiful!

Spec:
-Original Rays Stratagia Diavola 20" black chrome wheels
-Michelin Pilot Super Sports (245/40ZR20) tires, with less than 8000km.

Bought these brand new from Leong Seng, and fits the current QQ perfectly. Both rims and tires are in excellent condition, and am looking for trade with the OEM 19" rims/tires, and slight top up.

PM me if interested - I posted this in the QQ Whatsapp group chat as well.

cheers!

My rear wipers worked in auto mode during reverse only. The front windscreen wipers are auto rain sensors. What about the back windscreen? Have to on-off manually?
Hi Candilious,Littlegreenyoda,
Here's sharing what I encountered for my PPS and I am super damned pissed for spending the money on it.
Can i know where you did your PPS?

Just for those worried about the throw
Just for sharing.Hi Candilious,
Can i know where you did your PPS?
I did my PPS on my pearlie white qashqai at New Age Polish.
Satisfactory with the application and Gabriel is friendly with his professional advice in detailing.
My car seems to be protected by a coating.
I am very perculiar with car cleanliness. With the coating, the watermarks, bird shit etc are much easier to clean.
Scratch wise. I have not tried. Touch wood.
Price wise. Seem reasonable to me after comparing a few quotations.

The rattling is back after a few days. Going to send back to Tan Chong service center for analysisHi BreezyWind,
1 year + issue due to local fitting/wiring but also a bit on the design of the glove compartment.
Surprised TC did not get it fixed as standard SOP and keep irritating new owners :( Guess management is not aware else the Service team will get into hot soup ....

You should raise this to the service officer that this issue is not new and they should put this in their SOP for all new cars, or rather ask them to raise to their factory when they manufacture the cars. It is a nuisance for the owner to keep complaining the same issues.

For my case, it is mounting issue. The mechanic can rectify it easily at service center.Went to TC, they told me is engine mounting. Tester claimed that TC will change the it and told adviser straight to order it.I highlighted that is only 1 week, how could be engine mounting? Seems like the tester is a sub-con and adviser may take kopi from them. It would be more acceptable if they claim some lubrication could resolve it.

"You need to check whether your other insurance cover allows you to repair at Nissan authorized workshops, coz if need to repair at only certain workshops designated by the insurer (non-Nissan) might void the Nissan warranty."
Yes, any workshop should mean any including Nissan. For your information, I bought NTUC Drivo Premium which allows me to repair at "owner's preferred workshop" for my new QQ.'s ins.I think NTUC Drivo Premium Insurance premium is higher than TC's tied-in AIG's insurance policies. One reason is that of "owner's" preferred workshop choice.

Moreover NTUC has probably better field support when motor accidents assistance is required. They have this orange force thingy to help out their clients on the spot.

Thinking of changing to Aunty Lucy's when my insurance renewal is due.
14 August 2016 - 05:25 PMCtfcleei had mine rectified yesterday, notice the noise only after i sent in for 1000k servicing last week, went back again yesterday. beside rattling noise, got problem with solar film as well
14 August 2016 - 05:33 PMCtfcleeYes ,very disappointed especially rattling noise on the right after 3 weeks.i think could be when they install IU and other accessories it wasn't done properly.I am going to sent mine for checking and 1000KM servicing too:a-SOS:
14 August 2016 - 05:54 PMCtfcleeI just collected mine earlier. Now still monitoring the ride. Definitely much enjoyable ride without the irritating noises.
Rattling noise - rectified by fixing the glove box compartment
Knocking noise - rectified by greasing the mounting
Both noises are on the left side.
Keeping my fingers cross. Hopefully they are fixed indefinitely.
14 August 2016 - 07:19 PMWooksBeware, i sent to ubi checking only, the tester said to change engine mounting after going a small round inside the basement. I told them i took the car only for a week. How can that be? And the tester even asked the advisor check stock and order it. Fainted!Yes ,very disappointed especially rattling noise on the right after 3 weeks.i think could be when they install IU and other accessories it wasn't done properly.I am going to sent mine for checking and 1000KM servicing too:a-SOS:
Very worried if they start to dismantle our parts and selling it outside.
Reaching 1k soon, which service centre can we see them doing our car?

16 August 2016 - 04:03 PMezflyer2kHello there...

Is there a temp indicator for our QQ 1.2? For past rides, there's a temp indicator (blue in color) and usually it goes off after driving a short distance when the engine is sufficiently heated up. For some reason I don't seem to be able to see any blue light whenever I start engine for our QQ.

Have been following this forum on and off and have read about the durability of our stock batt. In the past I was told that it is better, though not a must esp on super hot days, to drive the car until the blue light goes off then you start the air-con so that the batt gets sufficient power (after being charged up a little) before you power up the air-cons to "protect' the batt?? These days I just start up the engine with everything on ie. HU and air-con and I wonder if it's a huge drain on the batt since our HU has many more features which probably draws more juice from the batt and hence affects it's lifespan?? Should I warm up the engine to charge up the batt a little before switching on the HU and air-con at the beginning of each day?

Hi Ben,

Battery is just a dummy reservoir for needed currently for cranking up or starting engine ... at least for typical car.

When your engine is switched on, it drives the alternator that feeds your aircon and all other car electrical components and then your battery. All these are with intelligent electronics such that the larger than required current from the alternator will also get to charge your battery if it is in good condition i.e. the car battery is not running your air con.

No worry for new car to start with aircon switched on as there is delay after cracking up the engine to prevent current being pulled from the battery by the complete car electrical components.

However, stop-start operations had to obvious get current from somewhere when engine and alternator is not running and hence it drains your battery as well as you will notice aircon not cold or even smelly because it is simply not enuff to power the aircon or switches off intermittently.

Hence stop-stop requires certainly battery types and our stock in 1.2l is ecf type for stop-start while even more complex hybrid cars requires agm type for quickest recharge from regenerative system from braking and yet able to discharge/work repeatedly for best performances and hence associated cost.

Hi Pocy,

As meemee advised, there is no end on car audio or home audio and you need to determine your budget and work around that.

Just for reference, beginner install at emma competition starts at SGD5k without installation ... my advice is that you have to first listen to the speakers to like its characteristic and then work backward to required amplifiers and required processors if you wish to go thus far.

There is also decision to be made on whether you wish for 2 ways or 3 ways set up and 3 ways being preferred especially if you are into vocal. Note however that since you want to keep stock HU, you will be limited on SQ since it has no digital output and sound quality will be affected since any digital source is converted to analogue source at HU to go into the processor for conversion back to digital for processing before being converted again to analogue signal to drive your amplifiers and then the speakers. With digital output of some headunit, digital source is then directly processes and you eliminate 2 out of the 3 conversions.

For best effect, car audio enthusiasts are selfish people and do not bother with rear speakers since it only acts to pull back the staging while they aspire to push out the soundstage with tuning of processor to emulate sound quality like going to a concert and we are not referring to church hall or sensurround movie.

Further to what Richard said, I think you should just enjoy your drive and not worry too much. If you have to follow the procedure you described, then it is very complicated. Start car, wait for blue light to go off, then turn on air-con, then HU? Then GPS? Then to stop car, you need to do everything in reverse? I think the savings in battery life, if any, will not be much.

Just accept that today's battery no longer last like yesterday's. I turn on everything, plus charge two phones, one power bank, and sometimes one more Garmin GPS. And just enjoy.
16 August 2016 - 06:13 PMrichard_crl032
Hi Dash1234,

Indeed no answer to this road/tyre noise else car manufacturer within design budget would have done so .... including more solid engine mounting, double grazed glass, vacuum seal, bigger suspension system, double compartment engine bay etc. like merc s class, bmw 7 or lexus.

Sure, sound proof help a little but will also add weight, increased FC and worse of all, focus higher noise to behind the firewall and dash that you cannot insert sound proof material which makes it worse sounding since relative .... and you probably have to rev your engine harder if you get overboard with sound proofing which will also introduce higher noise.

You can alternatively try the door rubber tubing to double seal the door that some of the whatsapp bros diy or get the complete sets on taobao that does help a little without major increase in weight of typical soundproof material.

For car audio enthusiasts, we add sound proof material to prevent vibration of door panel ... both self generated if too thin and also to stop such vibration noise especially when louder notes are sounded from the speakers.
For me, an audio system with less distortion than stock is my solution cos I hear only purer music notes without distortion or tyre/road noise.

Cheers,

Hi Ben,

Really dun know for our Qashqai since not used but for my estima, typical battery last 1 year but Varta silver last 2 years and estima is also known to kill battery due to high current powered auto doors.

Varta silver AGM for regenerative hybrid is a bit overkill SGD400+ butwith outstanding cranking current, no. of discharges, ease in charging etc. but Varta blue ecb which is recommended for the 1.2L stop-start with same ecb technology seems to be a good bet at SGD250 against TC's ecb replacement at SGD175.

Haha ... better dun play your hifi without cranking up the engine.

If it discharge too rapidly and beyond some low level, you damage your battery.

Hence even if quite new battery but depleted flat due to leaking etc. there is good change you cannot recharge and have to dump it for new one cos already damaged but since you obviously could start car, you had not gone beyond the low level but not recommended ... strongly :)

18 August 2016 - 08:28 AMrichard_crl032Hi Meemee,It fabric Suede :)
Need run in and tunning
Too overwhelming on the "vocal"
Retuning needed for sure but much less deviation from previous 2 way when you had to tune like mad and compromise sound integrity cos trying to do so from midbass feom side door to center above dash.
Now, it should be more natural with less deviation from less deviation or more flat eq, less compressed than with pods with increased volume of enclosure and better staging and imaging since midrange drivers are already physically above dash.
Happy tuning for more challenging 3 ways on crossover point and you may next consider full 8 channels processor cos think yours still not ..keke !
Cheers.

19 August 2016 - 11:52 PMWooksI went to bukit timah instead. The "click-clock" sound from engine compartment was eliminated after greasing the gearbox mounting.Went to TC, they told me is engine mounting. Tester claimed that TC will change the it and told adviser straight to order it. I highlighted that is only 1 week, how could be engine mounting? Seems like the tester is a sub-con and adviser may take kopi from them. It would be more acceptable if they claim some lubrication could resolve it.

Hi
To the best of my knowledge, turbo is always there, just that at 1750rpm, it achieves its maximum torque.

22 August 2016 - 08:33 PMli-JoeHi everyone, I'm Joe
I had been reading quite abit on tis forum for the pass few months before deciding on which car to go for. I must say thanks to all your reviews & comments here.
Nevertheless after years of afair with my latio, I've now learn why most old timers still prefer a nissan. Not tat their stylish nor fast but mostly i guess it's not much of a problem throughout the years despite the normal wear n tear, FC was ok and it seems pretty reliable.
Well there's many likes and dislikes on the qashqai which brings down to each individual liking i guess. Anyway here's my half bucket England of comments hopefully not too long of a share story!
Here it goes....
I'm not really a car person but oh well it's time for a change on my 4 wheelers as my paper life comes towards it's edge. Conti was on my mind if the bill fits. Price, service/warranty, fuel economy and durability were considerable priority. Took me a few months of exploring research and test drv tat it came to my understand of something rather unusual.
Despite the bigger cc engine in most Europe cars. Almost all makers are coming out or u may say down with a smaller CC engin, some with light assisted turbo. Some weighing almost 1.3 to 1.5 tonne or more, and some with a crazy 3 cylinders??? My goodness! Isn't tat back to the future? Remember tat famous 1.3 rotary engine with twin turbo! Lol! Lots of problem but still people want it! Eco seems tobe the inn thing rite now as fuel is becoming more on the hi side.
SUV wasn't in my list as I've driven one previously and it has a bad drinking problem which u can't possibly imagine. I could buy a new paystation every month just on my patrol bill alone lol! I was thinking if u were to do sales dont get a SUV ha!
Soon after my mindset had completely changed.
Almost all are going for eco mode. Power, yes! Fuel economy, yes!, durability?, well hopefully yes! Mostly for me, not much of a long distance driving in SG unless i hit Malaysia for a getaway.
I've driven many makers of cars over the years, somehow they have their own individual style and quality and it's very subjective. Bad reviews mostly on common problems, glitches here and there, the more serious once with someother new cars. I've been in and seen through it before, seriously it's much worst which will make your days trun into a never-ending black.
As my decision scale down, reading all the reviews and comments here n there, still having some doubt, keeping my fingers crossed! I've decided to stick my trust back to nissan again.
Yes! "Qashqai" the only Q'Q' without the chery on top and it's English made. Yes I've brought it! My first or u may say second elephant but tis time it's powered by a 1.2 turbo engine instead of a 2L. Anyway i love the 2L QQ too but did u guys see a cute Little intercooler on the 1.2? Did i see wrongly?!? It's not light assist for sure lol!
Most turbo cars hv leck i must say.. But then adding a super charger may seems over killing for the 1.2 cvt, it's really not tat much of a leck and It takes awhile getting use to after my first few days of driving. If u were to ask me how's my feeling? I would say.... I'm relief.....contended....and loving it more each day....!
(I'm relief)
I'm a heavy footed old man lol! Love to launch and be up front during a traffic stop. Very bad habits maybe because i ride too. Even then, not looking at the papers. The 1.2 have a decent FC for me.
I'm not comparing it with other makers but lets just do it with my old latio. QQ has a 55l tank which i think it's 10l or 15l more compare to latio & so in real life it should be fetching more km. And yes it did on my first fill up, not to say doing lots of engine idling for the first few days trying to figure out my way with all the alien function and buttons around my cockpit lol!
(I'm contended)
Sound proofing was decent... the stock Head Unit sounds better then i aspected to my surprise, but the horn sound..., the sound is really been block i guess wahaha.... At first when i sound off my horn, i was like saying to myself... goodness me... How can i possibly be the king! I must change it for sure. But soon after i decided not to... Why? Actually I've try to sound it off with my doors open standing outside beside my car...
It's nice and loud with abit of light base .... Not those irritating Sharp horn, it's really a nice sound. The British had done a nice job on the fire wall i must say. If i were to do I'll Probably install another killer horn with a additional button.
(Loving it)
Have u guys try driving the car on a normal mode? I mean eco off! Start stop off!... Disengage the pedal assist! Switch to manual mode if you wish! Turn on tat power aggressive driving style! Oh wow! Oh wow...! Not the rex tat u want but a decent enough punch to catch some nasties and it'll definitely put a big smile for sure. Do note turbocharged runs alot more warmer so try doing it on a cooler days since we don't get snow here.
Oh well.... Thanks for reading my bad England guys, like some saying... know very little but talk alot. Hope i won't bore anyone.... Ok ok will catch up soon and u guys Keep up with the comments n review ya! It helps! Especially on the DIY part! Where to get tis where to get tat! Really love reading it on my free time.
Cheers!

Do they run a dedicated wire from your battery and use the supplied relay, or take the easy way out by connecting to the fuse box? Because if they do it the proper way, that seems really cheap to me, so thumbs up for that.

1. Anyone knows what engine are we using for 1.2T? Model no.??

2. Anyone install shark fin antenna? I mean a reasonably good one that has good reception. I read some forum claiming if one knows about analog signals, size does matter ie. the longer the antenna, the better the signal. At first it seems to make sense (eg. military antenna are pretty long but these are very old eqpt!!) but given modern technology, I've sat in a friend's conti car with shark fin antenna, the signal is pretty good along the entire stretch of NS highway in M'sia!! Of cse not S'pore stations all the way (altho still can receive pretty clearly far up north) but all local stations in M'sia can be clearly received. Not sure if conti cars are using digital shark fin hence the reception is stronger???

Hi Linbo, please share if it works... cos the User Manual says "the map from internet is not compatible with our HU". Any chance you register with Galactio (based on the web address on the CD)? If registered that means we can download maps ourselves?

Getting the map and uploading onto a GPS (be it Garmin, Tom Tom, Marbello, etc.) is so easy these days and if we could do it ourselves, it's so much more convenient for drivers!! Quite silly to have to go back to TC for such trivial things and it's a waste of resources both from drivers and TC!

No nonsense car with good FC, Juz that it's near the end of it product life cycle. The gadgets we got in Qashqai cannot be found in WISH. Then again, is a totally different kind of platform to compare.

1. If I am not wrong, our 1.2T engine is HRA2DDT.

2. My SE installed for me. I understand the stock screw-on antennae is removed and the based covered with just a piece of plastic shark fin. stuck onto the surface of the car roof. On the basis that the screw-on antennae is supposed to make reception better, I would think the shark fin antennae can only be worse, not better. Indeed my radio reception is horrible. Certainly, the shark fin antennae will not improve reception unless you got one that has special wiring for improving reception.

3. Dunno but based on my previous cars, should be few years, and the batteries can be easily changed.

I noticed that the child lock moved from locked position to unlocked position after a few times. My son managed to open the door while the car is moving and luckily I was just moving out from the car park and manage to stop the car and locked the door again.

So now every time before I closed the door I double check the child lock is in the engage position. Gonna report this to TC when I send my car for 1K service.

An update to the child lock auto disengage issue. Went for my 5K servicing few days back and TC change the lock assembly for the rear passenger door where i put my child seat in. Still don't want to try my luck and using a scotch tape to secure the latch. For bro/sis who has this issue, can ask for a lock assembly change as well.

this is my first post on this forum.
but i have been following you guys for sometime and have to say there is a lot interesting and useful nuggets of info. Nice to see that.

i have some questions that i need help with.

1. throttle controller
done some research and there seems to be 2 that are suggested for the QQ - pivot (3 drive flat i think) and racechip (response control).
anyone using either of this ? what is the feedback on these 2 products?
Is there noticeable ride improvement if i am a more heavy footed type driver ?
How easy is the manual installation?
any issue with TC warranty on this ?

2. Guniang Horn - yikes
living with the horn for almost a year. its time to change. even told by my little nephew that it sounds weird.
looking for sort of deep sounding type horn. Any recommendations?
any issue with TC warranty on this ?

3. terra brown seats issue
small short threads seem to be appearing from the little holes on the seat. like sprouting tougeh!
anyone facing similar issue?

apologies if some of these questions have been raised before. feedback and responses most appreciated.

Bro, pivot flat connect to OBD. Racechip ethrottle connects to throttle control. Different connection and sames function. Improve acceleration. Pivot looks nicer with display while racechip ethrottle with buttons only. It is a must to improve acceleration for heavy footed driver.

No issues with TC on warranty. Just leave it there...

For horns, go asetmod and try la.... they have a few types and not sure now. Please check with them.

Paiseh on the seats issues as mine is black but I dont faced any issues even my QQ is 1 year old now.

03 September 2016 - 10:03 AMLinboHi Linbo, please share if it works... cos the User Manual says "the map from internet is not compatible with our HU".

I have managed to install the MFM maps (Galactio Version) onto our QQ Navi system. Currently SG map are still updated as Jan 2016 version and I just updated the Thai, Malaysia and East Malaysiamaps to Jul 2016version.

All packages are not including CVT fluid change. If you want it cost you $198.
I did ask SA, he told me according to the service manual, it only need to change when u reach 100,000km.

As of now the latest update is at Jul 2016, posted in Aug 2016 in MFM forums. Will have to wait for updated SG maps, maybe another 1 or 2 months time.
Just remember our systems GPS software are constantly being upgraded. Just need to maintain the software update and u can upload MFM maps inside.
Or u can get TC to update for u FOC (one time only) when u go for servicing. Just remember to restore back to original backup of your SD card (if u have upload MFM maps) when u do FOC upgrade.

Thks, Kstoh.

I would ALWAYS stay with OEM ATF CVT oil ... everything to lose with tested performance and nothing to gain unless you know what and have resources and technical capability to test.
Just change more often like 40-50k km compared to recommemded 100k km which I would avoid.

Careful with this and remove immediately after use. It continues to suck current after you switch off engine and on removal means flat and damaged battery.
Get those with on off switch or those that off itself but need to unplug/plug back which is ridiculous.
Cheers.

Haronkr u using it? Good? 06 September 2016 - 07:18 PMdash1234You can get it online but don't buy the cheapo type. Is just wasting your $$. Go for those with strong signal which easily cost you $20 and above. If install at accessories shop, it should cost you abt $45. Nonetheless, nothing beat the original antenna. It's one of its kind, Super good and clear signal and best of all, not bad looking too. ( my own personal opinion le)My radio reception is very bad. BBC can hardly hear. Other channels vary.
For my shark fin antennae, my SE confirmed that it is just a piece of plastic cover. No antennae wiring at all. In this case, the shark fin antennae can NEVER be better than the original stock stick out antennae.
Where can I get a proper shark fin antennae with wiring that is supposed to improve the radio reception? Or no point?

08 September 2016 - 10:12 AMApplriumHi all,
Car newbie here. Got my 2.0 and had my 1k servicing a while ago.
I must thank everyone here coz I read all the forum (Part 1 and Part 2) posts which helped me made up my mind to choose this over Vezel and Kadjar. :-). A very happy owner here.

I love the easy handling of this car for my daily city drive. Just a small complain that I feel that there is a lack of power at 1.5krpm and often I have to rev till 2k for moving off, and 2.5k for uphill, and its just me and a skinny child passenger (and no spare tire) in the car.

I have a few questions here and hope someone can help :-)
1. How do I rest the trip meter (not the total km traveled)?
I can reset trip A and B but there is a separate trip meter and trip time which I can't find the way to reset.

2. Is the + - shift next to D usable only in Sports mode?

3. What's the proper way to use it? Like, what's the difference between down shifting and just rev more by pressing harder on the accelerator?

Much thanks to all!

1. If you are referring to ODO, you can't reset..but I think you may be referring to something else. Can show pic ?
2. +/- shift can be used even in normal mode
3. It is to manually override auto gear which may take longer time to shift up (especially with CVT with rubber effect). Use this it will sort of address your issue.

09 September 2016 - 08:50 AMStargazeMeaning they are going to bid 44k for your purchase? How to get the coe?
Coe drop is obvious but can't be that drastic that soon.
They will not bid 44k for your purchase but will be higher maybe towards the 49k region at least? You can check the bid they put for you on the bidding day then you roughly know for the next few bids how much higher than 44k they are likely to bid for you.

However, for 8 bids no guarantee, you are not likely to get your COE (even after 8 buds) unless there is a sudden big drop of the COE price. Normally they will ask you to top up 1K+ to 2K after the next unsuccessful bids so that they will bid higher for you (where normally after the top up, you should get your car in the next 1 to 2 bids). Hence, if you can wait and want to try your luck (waiting for a drastic drop of the COE) then take the 8 bids price. If not better take the 6 bids non guarantee (aka as more of guarantee COE), you are very likely to get your COE on the first bid if not second.

This is different from what my SE tell me :) What my SE tell me is that alot of SE will first get the buyer to go for non guaranteed COE sign up to lock you down first and after a few unsuccessful bids they will ask you to top up and if you do not, they will continue the bidding. Often or not, those who top up after a few bids will get the COE on the next bid. Those who did not top up will wait longer and often did not get the COE.

My SE has been very honest with me and never push me to sign for the booking and ask me to wait for COE to drop further before booking if I can wait as no point locking myself to the COE price that I do not want and then the COE has a drop later.

My personal point of view, COE is not going to have a drastic drop as gov will control the price but putting new policy once the COE price drop to certain level (the next policy change will likely be allowing back to 10 years loan and then you see the COE price goes up again).

Booked my 2.0 under 8 bids NG. The COE rebate level was at $45K.

SE was recommending to take up the 6 bids NG, as chances of getting COE for 8 bids NG is low unless COE drop.
I told her I will go for 8 bid first and if COE goes up, then I will consider top up.

Got the COE for the 1st bid (in Aug 2nd bidding). Successful bid price $56.5K. TC bidded 56.8K. A close one, lucky for me.

My conclusion is that, for the 8 bids NG, there is a chance only if the COE dip, no need to drop drastically, probably abt $2K. But if COE maintain or up, then no chance.

09 September 2016 - 02:35 PMPocyErr .... QQ 2.0?
09 September 2016 - 02:57 PMYSLYI got my qq in july, then SE told me no point pay extra for guaranteedinner coe so I went for 6 bids NG, got my coe on 2nd round of bidding. Book in end May, got it in early July. You are lucky! Maybe that is for Cat B but as I know Cat A is rather difficult to get if you go for 8 bids and not top up. The last bid, I am sure those go for 8 bids for CAT A did not get it but for those with 6 bids got it even when the COE drop 2.3K for CAT A.
Yes do not see the list price but look at the price the SE give you after all the discount. I got a further discount on top of what the usual discount and got my COE on the first bid.
09 September 2016 - 02:58 PMMeemeeGroundingSome questions to the bros who had done some grounding work to the car. Will changing the battery affect the work done?
What abt changing batteries at TC. Any issues?
Thanks thanks
1) better spark voltage = more complete fuel burn = more power + better gas mileage
2) better battery charging characteristics
3) ability to run more electrical components with less effect on your electrical system (rally lights, stereo, gps, heater etc)
4) everything electrical performs better (headlights is most noticeable)
Your whole car depends on your electrical system. When I buy a new (to me) car the first thing I do is make sure the electrical system is running as best as it possibly can.
But again ---- depend on the qlty of the cable .......
Copper is the best conductor
Please don't get those aluminum tinted type
09 September 2016 - 03:14 PMharonkrBro Meemee yup i understand that part. I mean i qont diy and prob go shop to do.Grounding

Asking if i were to change batteries at TC, will the wiring etc be affected. Or do i have to return to the shop to redo?
You can get those 16-17s if you cruise a lot. If city driving, go up mscp, always jam, numbers will be horrible.Published is 16-17. The SE told me will not get this fc maybe around 12 which is true
Ok to me as its seems my other cars were also around this fc range.
09 September 2016 - 03:23 PMStargazeI got my qq in july, then SE told me no point pay extra for guaranteedinner coe so I went for 6 bids NG, got my coe on 2nd round of bidding. Book in end May, got it in early July.

In May is different, as that time there is no such thing as 8 bids no guarantee. They change the non guarantee bid after AUG first bid. AUG first bid and before, you can go with the 6bids non guarantee and you will get the COE likely on first if not second bid. And now it apply the same for the 6 bids non guarantee. But now they have an extra category called 8 bids non guarantee which is about 2k lower than 6 bids non guarantee. Hence for the 8 bid non guarantee, it will be very difficult to get the COE unless there is a drastic drop in the COE price.

Like I have mentioned, on last wed bid I got my COE in the first bid for 6 bids non guaranteed and they bid around 55k for my COE. The CAT A COE drop to 51.5k from 53.8k in Aug last bid. And if I am not wrong a few of them here who was on the 8 bids non guarantee non of them got the COE so TC must have bil lower than 51.5k. Tha is why I ask those bro what is the amount that TC bid for them.
09 September 2016 - 04:04 PMtylsteveWant to check if rust is normal on the brake rotors? My Qashqai 1.2L is about 10 months old, with stock rims, brake calipers, brake rotors and brake pads.

I noticed the rust on the brake rotors after a car wash at Shell, with Sonax rim cleaning also.

This is the front rim, with rust visible at the edges of the rotor.

This is the rear rim, with less rust but still visible.

Is this rust normal? Braking function feels fine, just not sure if anything is wrong.

Hi guys... Seems like alot more cash qai on the road since I've gotten my car. Hope your car give u more cash to qai instead of qai...ing more cash on the car, for me I'm cashing in some light DIY lol!
Hv you guys updated on the software recently? It Seems like a different set-up on the ecu, trotter responds seem better with a faster pick up just on a light tap. But i prefer the old setup doh...well I'm still loving my ride since day 1.
Anyway here's my half bucket of England again but tis time I'm be sharing some DIY I'm doing and hope it will interest you.
Other then the coe, whether it's a 2l or a 1.2 qq.... The car seems pretty well built in the hands of the Englishman don't u guys agreed.
Well some may say of cause I'll praise my ride since I've gotten it. But frankly speaking I've got many doubt before buying lol!
Anyway happens tobe with one of my mechanic friend from overseas recently....and as usual his bad habits of checking out my ride....
Humm.... He said.... i notice your car is reasonably quiet. Notice the rear wheel arch, inside it's carpeted. It's use in most conti to isolate noise from stones pebbles and water splash. Trust me most hatch back are very noisy, tis helps alot.
I hate those cheap plastic push lock nuts and clips clams he added... QQ seems tobe using a higher grade materia. But it's still not a 100% perfect in some areas.
The greatest enemy is the heat, when he pop the hoot, It's burning hot... but most turbo cars do... surprisingly most of the stuff needed is there. Intercooler...oil cooler Etc.... Etc....but do remember turbo cars are more costly to repair...Grounding looks good but some hot spots may be consider.
Soon after I've got myself some DEI products from our local agent. Wire/trunking heat shield, battery heat shield.... Etc....especially on the battery from my experience, heat shield is a must! There's also other brands u may try but i prefer DEI.
Oh trust me... It's as easy as putting on a baby's diaper lol! Anyway it's a on going project not fully done up. Hopefully my share helpes for some, it's just a simple clip on product to shield the heat. Try go do some read up if u can. It's good.
If u were tobe like me which prefers running the car stock and without any warranty issues. Tis simple hop up's you may consider which had proven over the years both on road, on track and most modify driver's would do.
Sorry i can't or dont know why i can't post photos maybe It's only my second post.
Well there's many more stuff to share but probably next time... Think I'm too long winded as some may feel lol!
Thanks for reading.

10 September 2016 - 10:49 AMTyerHi,

So you just sign up for 8 bids non guarantee at $105,800? Did you check how much they out in for your bid yesterday?

They will likely get you to top up another 1k+ in the next 2 bids if you still do not get it. What are the Freebies you get from your SE? From Ubi or there
I got another 1K discount. They bid around 49K+ for me.
Hope that they will not ask me to top up as I am not keen at all to do that.
The usual freebies, and I think the SE throw in the magnetic sunshades from his pocket.
My agent is from LK. Not bad service. Very patient during the purchase and also give a call soon after the closing of the COE bidding to update me.

10 September 2016 - 02:04 PMStargazeGood for u... did you trade in any car? Mine was 49k too. Your in car camera front and back?Hi Tyer
Hi Tyer & JuzFXT,

So both of you TC bid 49k for you which is like 4K lower than the amount they bid for me. The initial bid they put is 53K then raise it to 55K as they wanted to get the COE for me, 8 bids will really be tough but who knows, you might have a chance next bid if COE reduce again to near 50k (finger cross) and TC decide to bid 1 more K for both of you by raising the bid in the later part of the bidding time.

By the way, you can ask for more freebies beside the usual front and back cam and the solar film. So talk to your SE but I did that before i do my booking so not sure if your SE will give you more freebies after you have done your booking. Anyway, no harm asking :)

BTW anyone know why are there is a control on the number of post we can make each day and need what approval from others to allow you to post more?

How this approval work and can your approve me? New to posting in this forum.
Haiz.. I hope the recent promo and drop in Cat A dun spur the next COE bidding up.. *fingers crossed*

It is likely the next COE might goes up depending on company like uber if they come in to buy more cars? Hear last bid they did not come in to bid too many COE.

11 September 2016 - 07:03 PMStargazeYou can go to duo.com.sg to see how many points you have and what you can redeem there. You can also ask you see for help too. I have not really use my points yet.I register for the duo program but how do we collect points?
11 September 2016 - 08:47 PMKstohThe fuel tank for this car is 65 litres. 800 km / 65 litres work out to 12.3 km/l, which is definitely achievable, at least for the 1.2T. On expressway, I did 19.0 km/l yesterday. I use normal mode, not Eco. No special technique. Not aware of the LCD foot assist that Li-Joe using. For me, just normal driving.Which car did you use for 400km consuming only half tank? Can't wait for you to show the device. Can post pic using desktop.

The lcd screen on your speedometer. When you're on the eco mode. In your settings there's 2 modes to choose from. you will be able to change it and see a picture of your foot how much fule you save when u depress...kekekeke! There's a blue line indication. But i prefer useing the orignal default screen. Think the 2l has it too.
Hope tis helps...
Wow! You hit 19 on expressway tats good leh... no eco mode somemore.... Faint.... I must try it one of tis days. My eco was on since day 1.
Thanks for the tips...

12 September 2016 - 04:47 PMChucky2007Really sorry to hear it... But really funny(here is the story to the photos above)
Ever bump into a qq driver at a carpark? Both same colour?
All excited about each others ride and sharing of experience?
Well, this was the exact feeling I had today!
All went well for the first 5min but this excitement died pretty quickly.
It was like love at first sight. I drove past her, lowered my window and greeted her with care not wanting to frighten her. Since we both drove qq, I told her my problems and she had some disagreements. I asked her to hop in, and she did. We drove up the mscp, and we agreed that my car may have some issues.
Later on, being young at heart like all qq owners are, we went down the mscp to fetch her car. Drove up the mscp once again, to check if both cars responded the same and it did. We giggled. She decided to park right next to my car.
One thing lead to another, we found ourselves in my car again. Soon it was time to part ways. I opened my door gently but the wind was strong. My door swung wide open and hit onto hers. This was when the excitement died.
By the way if you think is it csb, it isnt.
Actually can go do dent removal $20-30Anyhow, both drivers are guys, above 1.75m and hairy

We both looked at the top part of his door panel. Maybe becos i was holding my door frame and i thought that was the point of impact.
I was behind my car door so i couldnt see in front of it.
He alighted, stood in front and initially said no damage too. We both sighed in relief.
However upon further inspection, he discovered a dent.
That was when i regretted and knew i should have exercised caution....
You know? Moments like these...
(anyway..... just look at how far apart we are parked! still can kena...blardee wind
)

Oh it is not at the collection of the car but at the time when you do your booking you need to register already. If after that then you have to tell them to update the points. :)
