Barcelona's passing is still slick, esp 1st half whereby once we allow them back to their passing game, they could easily slice the defence with those through passess.

Fitness-wise, i think Barcelona lose out to Liverpool.

I would say that after starting the game in the first 5-8 mins, we gave Barcelona no room to play their football.

What i observed as improvements in our game �- faster releasing of the ball (preferably one-touch) once we regain any possession that can cause the opponent to be off-guard.

The surgical passess and quick responses from our front-line just make the team look dangerous.

i think loaning Flanno out its good. he is not first choice in both FB positions. and full backs are usually the last to be sub out to change tactics as most can play wing backs.

I am somewhat ready for this 2016/17 season. I have subscribed to Toggle Sports Eleven showing selected EPL matches live. Mine is no contract type so it is about S$25 per month for 6 games, 4 live and 2 recorded or is it 3/3? I cannot remember

Things happen too fast.. But if asernal retrive the ball from fast break... Moreno out of position might be justify.Dunno whether to believe my premonition on not to predict now that we've won...
Dollar coaster game again. Bad for the heart, definitely. It was depressing until Coutinho's free kick. I couldn't believe that with the attacking talent we had (Firmino, Coutinho, Mane, Lallana, Winjaldum, etc.), we just didn't pose any serious threat much. And then our mr Mopiko can give away penalty; and still not enough, actually deserted his position to give up the morale-boosting advantage of Mig's penalty save...
Coutinho is still Coutinho. Quiet for most of the match, but could do things that matter, as shown by his 2 goals. Could have had a 2nd hattrick in 3 mth, if he did a repeat of the striker's touch in front of cech...
Lallana was a disaster right up to his well-taken goal. Another one who was quiet/poor but suddenly sprung to life with a solid contribution. Pity he didn't seal it earlier after Cech saved from Coutinho.
Mane was incredible, using his pace and skills to good effect when given the chance. Hope he scores winner against all the top clubs to make his price a bargain.
Firmino was poor, and slow, although he could use his skills to max effect - the gunner CBs must be si bey sian to be punished so many times, and in the process kanna exposed by Clyne, Mane, Firmino so badly.
Hendo also poor. One of the poorer ones. Only contribution was to help slow game down without making any errors.
Winjaldum was ok. Could have done better when he had sight of goal.
Defensively, somehow all 4 committed some form of errors for the 3 goals. Mopiko most jialat. Luckily he max'ed out his errors early on and didn't continue it throughout. Clyne was too elated still when Chamberlein scored. Gunners attacked a lot more from his side from then on, and it was worrying...
Lovren and Klavan both couldn't win header for the last goal conceded. Not a good sign... Better improve the headers...
Mig was a mixed bag. good penalty save, but could have done better with all 3 goals, and maybe got chance to keep 1 or 2 out, but to be fair, the defence let him down for all 3.
The subs did ok, helped to see out the game.
I mentioned i was quietly confident beforehand. But didn't expect to score 4 and let in 3... close shave in the end...
Hope the good start against a top team will create a momentum to see us bag more maximum points.

Yah I just watched the clip. Quite true because firmino is more hardworking and know how to press we'll compare to pure striker like origi and sturridge. But I think origi and sturridge will be useful against teams who like to sit back and defend deep.

I don tink hendo played well. Watching him play is so frustrating now as he always chooses to pass backwards or sideways. U try to take note later. Everytime he gets the ball he will look back or side...very seldom forward.I thought so too. In fact not only Origi but also Can. But Henderson did played well last week so no reason to drop him. As for Sturridge I think its because it is just Burnley, so he gets a start. If it is playing against top teams Klopp will morely likely to either use Firmino who can press well or Origi.

I personally think he didnt play well. But I read the comments from other forums most of them think he played well, especially in the 2nd half. I did notice that when he is in the attacking 3rd, he is much better. But his shooting is not lethal and he doesnt provide that killer touch too.�

The Klopp style means full back will always be exposed during transition. Milner is not a natural defender too but Klopp doesnt seem to care much about that.�

We play well against attacking team but stumble against defensive team that play deep. Hurt but we must face the fact kloop still yet to find solution against those defensive team like last season. i dun see teamwork bec i noticed that players were more interested in their footwork and dribbles than preferring to execute a forward pass; coutihno and firmino with their footwork, and both of them trying to go long range although firmino was better. JH and Firmino with very casual passes.

The weekend has been one disappointment after another.

First, ManU won, then City won, then i tried for 20 min to find somewhere to watch the match live on my android box(es), and could only see chelsea match wherever showing premier league... So first normal weekend (last week's match was scheduled at a time where gunners vs pool was the only match) after i gave up my mio stadium subscription, couldn't get to watch pool play...

The most disappointing thing was as i was searching high and how, was keeping track of the score, and found us first 1-0, then 2-0 down. and the score remained that way...�

As mentioned, the biggest worry was playing one fantastic match (in champions form) followed by an amateurish game... And it unfortunately manifested...

I do see you point on getting better players in�but you have to leave it to the Mgr to call the shots on this. Can't just buy for the sake of buying and also some quotes are downright ridiculous. 26 years is a long time by Liverpool standard. Leicester has never have any major success except for a few league cups win before last season. So by their standard, they didnt actually "wait" to win the league. They are creating a new history for themselves.�

I think Markovic cannot be compared to Mane in terms of pace. Markovic is only average, maybe considered fast. Mane is ... very fast. i haven't seen a pool player this fast since Owen pre-injury. Torres would also still lose out i feel.

Actually we are very thin on defenders... whether LB, CB, RB or even DM ....
These should be the areas that we need to beef up ....

With less matches to play, we are less likely to rotate. So maybe Klopp is thinking we dont need so many defenders around. But even players like Milner got injured. And Matip too. Lovren does get injured too as proven last season.�

I am thinking Klopp is waiting for Karius to recover and put him in starting. If he can make saves and keep us in the match such as against teams like Burnley, who only have 2 clear chances to score and make it count, then we have a chance to challenge for the title.�

Mignolet is habitually letting goals on the near post. we can say the two CB is missing, but the matter of fact is, near post is a keeper mistake, especially when he know there are at least 2 Defender at the far post.
Clyne has not played a good game since the season started. We know his size can be easily out-muscled during aerial duels but my sense is he is not playing to his expectations yet. So i will gv him some time there. At worst, Can can play RB but that is really unthinkable.

Milner was wonderful filling as LB and foiling a few attacks. So i gv him a chance to shine there and compete with Moreno. We still have Gomez.

Matip impressed me bec when i watched his plays during the friendlies, he did not come across as steady as i wld have liked him to be. He even had a header that was tipped to the post by Vorm. However, he showed that he can also partner Lovren as the CB partnership. At present, it will be Lovren-Klvan/Matip.

Henderson performed better but still not to the heights we had seen of him. He cld be playing under certain instructions so agn i gv him time to show us he derserves a starting spot, and the captaincy. Otherwise, Can/Grujic could be our answer to address his occasional woeful displays.

Origi seems different after recovering from injury. It seems that he does not dare to challenge the players for the balls. Phobia? Gv him some time there to recover his touch. We still have Ings, DS...hopefully Ben Woodburn gets his chance to play as well.

Coutihno has moments of brilliance and hailed as having a great game if he scores one. However, i find that he is often trying to wand some magic than be a contributor to the game-play at the team-level. His inconsistency is also not helping our cause.�

Firmino may be JK' pet but slows the pace of the game with extra touches like Coutihno and Lallana. His fitness also a concern.

Wijnaldrum had 2 shots that threatened Vorms...so supports play well. He is like Lucas whereby he does the dirty work behind the scenes.

Spurs' players are abit rough, like Rose, Dele. And they had a referee who was not officiating with high standards.

That reminded me of Kante sole mistake in the game against Everton at the end of last season that resulted in a goal to the visitor which ended 3-1. He was brilliant throughout that game...just one mistake and the opponent captured the chance...
I won't totally fault Mignolet for the equaliser as the RB joined the CB to challenge the header; but he did closed his eyes and not look at the ball during an attempt to save. Rose sliced the ball with his outer foot to slot in the tiny gap bt the keeper and upright.
That's the beauty of football. Not the better team wins all the time. It's often the team that seizes the availability of chance that does.

I think most people is thinking a lb will always be facing the opponent. But with modern Soccer especially high pressing one Klopp play. Our left back will be running along side the defender, which I think for right footer will be great.

A left winger can be a right footed who uses his right foot more playing on the left wing but a left back must be competent enough to use his left foot more regularly than his right foot. I look at Milner and when it comes to running on speed to the byline he is able to cross with his left. But defending might be a problem if the right winger keeps on going around the back and cross or run into the box. As for right footed left winger as mentioned can cut in to shoot. For a right footed left back its not often he get the chance to do that. Moreover if there is a space on the flank left by the winger the left back can exploit the space to cross. In this instance the pace and curve of the ball is faster and more difficult to defend.�

Wisdom - sad that the guy keeps being loaned out rather than sold. Clear that he never had a future with us.

Last season (and before) i hated it when Pool matches were shown at odd hours (different from the typical 10 pm or 11 pm slots, as it meant out of normal routine.
All of a sudden this season, after i gave up MioTV, my android box only show the feature match during 10 pm (or later 11 pm during winter time), so won't get to choose the desired match... So now i hope Pool plays at 7.45 or 12.30 am... or play on Sunday... confirm can catch its matches only if it's the only match at the time slot...�

i mean i know he is a midfielder but no one seems to know where his best position is and what is Klopp's intent when buying this guy
Last time play football always play at basketball court coz can have more teams with 5 or 6 players in each team. If play on field we need lots of players. And no goalpost so have to use bags�

Recess time we only do kickabouts, no time to play game/match.
On one occasion i played goalie, gey kiang blocked a high ball, think my last finger (instead of my palm) bore the brunt of the force, and i actually fractured the joint without knowing. Just si bey pain, and after school was brought to those chinese sinseh to rub (pain like hell) and bandage with the next good finger...

pain persisted for a week plus before went old toa payoh hosp x-ray, by which time the doc said a bit crooked but bones had started to heal. Then only knew fractured, but too late as not 100% straight liao�

Volleyball more suitable to use on field coz ball too bouncy on the basketball court�

I do want to help out the defence but the best player in my team always ask me to stick to the flank. But it is difficult because on the field we get suck to the middle as all the actions are there and staying on the flanks means I cant get any touch on the ball. The best player will tell me he will find and pass the ball to me, which he did. Actually only later when I think back then i realised my off the ball running is very good. Thats my strength. Coz my control is average, passing is ok, skill and shooting not bad, pace good. So sometimes I couldnt understand why he choose me within the first 3 picks coz there are much better players among my friends. Moreover I always pull shirt and give away fouls�

In fact in any sports I play like badminton, table tennis, basketball, my style always more attacking, score goals and baskets. I remembered once when I play table tennis I felt I was too attacking, I went to change my rubber from PF4 to pimple type of rubber, hoping to improve my defending
